Design of a small bathhouse inside. Bathhouse interior: design ideas, layout and modern design styles (21 photos). Bathhouse: interior in Russian style

Bath – best place for relaxation, especially after a busy day of work. It is no coincidence that every owner summer cottage or a private house seeks to erect this structure and give it a worthy place on the territory. After the building is erected, the interior decoration of the premises begins. To do this, you need to take into account the subtleties of the bathhouse design.

Peculiarities

A bathhouse is a building that has its own characteristics. Upon registration special attention Care should be taken to ensure that everyone in the room is comfortable and safe. Usually they follow the traditional Russian style, using clapboard for cladding, choosing the same shade for all rooms and walls. When placing items, you need to take into account that there are no sharp corners. Floors and walls should not slip. This is an important requirement that should not be overlooked. Otherwise, you may get injured.

Arrangement of a bath requires the use of only natural materials. This is necessary for security reasons. It is unknown how they will behave artificial materials at high temperatures, what substances will begin to be released. For example, when plastic is exposed to high temperatures, it begins to melt and release toxic substances. They pose a danger to the health of others, bad smell does not promote rest and relaxation.

In the bath you need to determine convenient place to place the necessary small items (brooms, hats, slippers, soap, oils and other things) that may be needed for washing and relaxation procedures. It is worth paying attention to lighting. It should be dim, conducive to relaxation. Small lamps that emit a soft yellow light are suitable.

Bright light of all the colors of the rainbow will quickly get boring. It is better to choose special lampshades for lighting with an anti-fog effect. They must be heat-resistant and moisture-resistant. This mandatory requirements to lighting in the bathhouse.

Compliance simple rules will ensure the safety of vacationers. Lamps can be placed on the ceiling and walls.

Project

It all depends on the area that can be allocated on the site for a bathhouse. The spacious building can have any rooms at the owner’s discretion. In a small house (for example, 6x6 m) there is enough space to accommodate all the essentials. The bathhouse can be designed with an attic. Then a second floor will appear, which means an additional room that you can equip at your discretion, make it, for example, a guest room or just a place to relax.

In a two-story bathhouse on the ground floor you can equip a place for a steam room, a washing room, a relaxation room with access to a veranda, where you can sit after water treatments with a cup of aromatic tea. Small bathhouse in the village – good option for relaxation. In such a room, you need to think through everything so that the most necessary furnishings are included. It is important to compactly arrange the equipment and necessary household items.

The locker room won't take up much space. All you need to do is put a wardrobe in it or hang a convenient hanger on the wall. In the washing room, one container with water and a small space where you can carry out the procedures will be enough. The steam room is the main place where the stove will be located, as well as convenient shelves.

A small recreation room is necessary so that you can sit, drink tea, and chat with friends. For these purposes, a small table and four low stools are enough.

Provided that you still need more space to save money, the dressing room is combined with a rest room. There is a place for things and a corner for drinking tea.

If space does not allow, you can completely abandon the rest room. A shower room can be equipped separately in the courtyard of a private house. It will take up very little space. If you have a large plot of land, you can design a bath complex with a kitchen and a swimming pool, organize good rest for the whole family and guests. A billiard room can also be located there, it all depends on the preferences of the owner.

Such a structure will require a solid foundation made of monolithic reinforced concrete. The bathhouse itself is often built from logs or timber. Concrete floors are being poured next to the pool. It is better to install ceramic tiles in the bathroom, shower and kitchen. In the steam room, hallway and rest room there are only boards.

Unusual, and most importantly economical project– a corner bathhouse, it will fit well into any landscape design. In this case, decorating the interior is no more difficult than with a standard project.

Finishing materials

The selection of materials for finishing a bath needs to be approached especially carefully. Only environmentally friendly raw materials will contribute to health procedures and good mood. You cannot use plywood, plastic panels, linoleum. They are not suitable for high temperature and high humidity. In addition, when heated, they can release harmful substances.

An ideal option for decorating interior spaces is lining. The quality of the wood must be top level . Then the wooden surface will preserve for a long time appearance and performance.

Finishing from unedged boards is not suitable for a bathhouse. And if it is used, it needs more careful processing.

For interior decoration choose linden and aspen wood. They are especially appropriate in a steam room due to their low heat transfer. Oak, beech, and ash are good for finishing a dressing room, washing room, and rest room. Experts recommend not treating wood in a steam room with additional means, since there will be no real smell of wood, which is why it is sometimes so pleasant to be in a steam room.

The best option is to treat the walls with oil (hemp or linseed). It will protect the tree, but will not deprive it of its natural aroma. However, fans health-improving holiday and environmentally friendly materials prefer to do without processing. They simply ventilate and dry the steam room periodically. In other rooms, wood can be treated with a special impregnation.

Even if the bathhouse is built from expanded clay blocks, which can often be found now, the inside should in any case be decorated with wood. They install in the baths metal stoves or use brickwork, which gives a special flavor to the room. But if the distance between the stove and the wall does not reach 50 cm, part of the wall must be bricked or equipped with protective screen made of stainless steel.

The pool, shower room, and bathroom are finished with tiles, of which there are a lot of options both in structure and in color scheme. Tiles must be selected with an anti-slip effect. If you decide to place it on the floor in the steam room, you need to take into account that it gets very hot. Therefore, you will have to put a wooden grate on the floor.

Exterior finishing

Exterior decoration is no less important than interior decoration. Only high-quality house cladding in compliance with all technologies will allow you to properly set up a steam room. The bathhouse can be built from foam blocks, concrete, brick. Finishing is needed not only to give the building a beautiful, finished look and to make it a decoration of the site. High-quality cladding solves issues of sound, heat and waterproofing.

To keep the heat in the bath longer, it is important to choose proper thermal insulation. The first step should be a thorough inspection of the surface. There shouldn't be any cracks on it. If they are found, they need to be repaired. Sheathing materials are reinforced tightly to each other.

Wooden houses must stand. Shrinkage may occur, so the cladding of such structures is not done immediately, but is postponed for a year. If masonry is used during the construction of the building, the cladding can be done as soon as the installation of doors and windows is completed. Many people choose natural materials to decorate their baths.

Wood looks more harmonious in comparison with other facing materials. If treated correctly it will last a long time.

Appear on the construction market decorative materials, which can be used for exterior decoration. This finish will be cheaper than high-quality wood.

  • By using vinyl siding having various shades and texture, you can create an imitation of any natural materials (for example, wood, stone, brick).
  • When using plastic panels, you can also give the surface any appearance, depending on which design style is chosen as the basis.
  • Covering the surface with artificial stone will give the building an original look and make it a noticeable decoration of the area.

If the bathhouse is built from natural quality wood, it does not require cladding. It's hard to think of something more beautiful than the texture of wood. All processing in in this case boils down to the fact that the surface needs to be sanded well special tools, coat with a primer that protects from moisture and harmful insects.

Interior design

The decoration of a bathhouse and sauna inside has its own differences from the arrangement of a residential building. Whatever style is chosen for decoration, everything should be functional, beautiful, and comfortable. There is absolutely no point in piling up unnecessary items and exquisite design elements in a bathhouse.

It is important that you feel comfortable relaxing here, and that all the necessary items are always at hand.

When choosing a finish for village bathhouse in the Russian style they use objects made from natural materials. The steam room will be decorated with a stove, the dressing room can accommodate the necessary accessories (brooms, washcloths), and the floor will be decorated with embroidered rugs. The rest room will be harmoniously complemented by simple wooden furniture, tablecloths, and an antique samovar. The shades of decoration and furniture should not match. This will create a negative effect.

Decorating in a chalet style does not require excessive luxury. But to create it you need to choose a male or female direction. In the first case, hunting items can be located in the living room: weapons, trophies, forged elements design. In the second the room will be decorated ceramic tableware for tea drinking, landscapes in simple frames on the walls, embroidered tablecloths and napkins, bouquets of dried flowers and fragrant herbs.

Modern style implies simplicity and elegance with the addition of elements of luxury. Ceilings in several tiers can be equipped, beautiful windows with durable glass, sauna cabins, swimming pool. In any case, the rest room should be equipped with an elegant, but wooden furniture. You can focus on lighting by arranging interesting lamps. At the same time, do not forget about safety precautions.

All materials and decorative elements must be adapted to high temperatures and high humidity.

The arrangement of a bathhouse is always carried out using wood of different types; only these types of finishes are applicable to the steam room. You can create any interior with your own hands and decorate it in the style you like. It is important to remember safety and comfort. The bathhouse is the place where the mood for relaxation should be, important positive emotions, followed by the improvement of the body.

Light curtains for the windows complement the interior. A picture in a simple frame or any other decorative element can be placed on the wall. The decoration of such an interior will be a Russian samovar.

The rest room can also be used for sleeping. After the bath procedures, it is good to take a nap in a clean, comfortable bed. This room is perfect for guests staying overnight. There is everything you need for a short stay: comfortable bed, clothes hangers, bedside table for necessary things. You can equip the room with a small TV to add comfort.

In the steam room, it is advisable to think about interesting lighting that will add additional coziness to the room. In this case, the lamps are protected wooden structure. It is easy to make with your own hands. Lamps can be of a different configuration; they must be protected from high temperatures.

If the construction of a whole bath complex, then the rest room can be spacious, performing several functions at once. For example, a separate area is intended for cooking, where there is nothing superfluous. Not large number cabinets are convenient for storing the most necessary utensils. Interior design The steam room is of no small importance for comfort. With a little effort and letting your imagination run wild, you can create a colorful and cozy interior baths!

How to decorate a steam room with wood and pebbles

Linden lining is perhaps the most popular material for interior decoration of rooms with high temperatures. Pleasant to the body, aromatic, with a healing effect - perhaps the best thing is lining with embossing, which imitates various types of decorative coverings: snakeskin pattern, bamboo, etc.

The design of the steam room is in eco-style - the walls and ceiling are lined with boards, and benches are included in the “set” for them. Interesting idea for this style of bathhouse - a wall-mounted firewood rack indoors. Firewood for the stove is laid out in the form of panels.

A wall lined with pebbles will also decorate the room. It can also be used to finish the floor in a washing room. And if you don’t skimp, you can decorate the design for a bathhouse or hamam with a floor made of coins.

If you want to save space, a raised decorated floor will help: if you wanted to take a shower, you lowered it, if you decided to swim, you raised it.

Bath design

The feeling of freshness will create a beautiful washroom design natural style. Wildlife has a powerful calming effect. Therefore, in one case, the designers used large logs with untreated granite, in the other, they lined the inside of the wall with stone and tiles.

Design elements such as waterfalls from the walls would be appropriate in the bathhouse premises. You can decorate them with large shells instead of traditional faucets.

Fans of minimalism and new life for old things in bathhouse design will love a shower made from a large garden watering can.

If there is no room for a pool, then you can cool down after the steam room in the plunge pool. Fortunately, it’s easy to make it with your own hands – from an ordinary barrel.

A washbasin made from a simple barrel will help you “maintain style”

And comfortable furniture from them is in the dressing room.

The floor may also be original. A cork covering with a “straw” pattern is more suitable for a country-style bathhouse interior. In addition to such a floor, you should take a bale of straw as a coffee table (an idea from the Hacienda show). One more thing interesting solution for the floor - a pattern of boards and refractory bricks.

For an unusual bathhouse - the same doors made of natural materials - wooden, in the style of a country house. But these porthole windows will tell you how to use spare parts from an old washing machine.

Lighting and accessories

The best lamp for the interior of a bathhouse is one made by yourself. A chandelier in the shape of a stork's nest, redundant in the house, looks unusual and original. Materials: frame for a bouquet, braided with decorative raffia straw using wire. Natural antlers decorated with a lamp are also a suitable option for a natural style.

If you prefer something more modern, you need to choose lamps like these, hidden under the “torn off” planks of the interior decoration. An old basin used as a chandelier in the shower is another innovative solution.

We create a romantic mood by using candles. But bathhouses require special design. A basin or trough and ladles will do again.

In general, a basin in a bathhouse is a universal item. It is worth making such “shelves” for storing bath brooms, towels and other bath accessories. Can be used in steam rooms wooden pallets- This good decision and for the main house.

Wicker baskets are also great for decorating a bath: large ones usually go on the floor as tables, small ones - on the wall.

From “warm” natural materials you can make the most various decor, which would be appropriate in a bathhouse and sauna: boxes woven from grass, reeds, rattan, ferns, corn, bast shoes and other items that are hung on the walls and placed on benches.

The best hangers for bathrobes would be items made from branches or small stones as hooks.

Bathhouse: interior in Russian style

The interior of a steam room in the Russian style will look complete if you complement it with decorative accessories. The room can be decorated with bath brooms, embroidered curtains, wood products - figurines, spoons, mirrors, clocks made from wood cuts, which are not afraid of humidity and will help to allocate enough time for important procedures.

Tapestries made from medicinal herbs, moss and roots will quickly decorate the walls, look great and fill the room with aromas. They can be woven using a hand weaving device called a reed.

In addition to aesthetic value, herbal rugs and tapestries also perform an important healing function. A bath mat made of willow bark not only decorates, but also helps against skin diseases and sweating of the feet, relieves inflammatory processes. A tansy towel as a compress in a bath is the main thing. folk remedy for joint pain. Applied to the head, it relieves pain and helps get rid of dandruff. Nettle cloths increase vitality. Tapestries made from several types of herbs (wormwood, peppermint, yarrow, St. John's wort, sweet clover, etc.) are not only excellent elements of bathhouse design, but also cleanse the human body of harmful microbes and have a tonic or calming effect.

How to design a bathhouse

Herbal products woven on a reed are strong and durable. The only condition is that a straight line should not fall on them sunlight. The natural aroma of tapestries can be enhanced by sprinkling them with water. For the same purpose, they are hung in the steam room.

Useful decoration for baths and saunas - decorative designer jars with sea salt and colored sand. If you look closely, you can see a pattern of mountains, sky and deserted beaches. And when you have enough of this decor, you can use it as a scrub.

The more shades of salt and sand you have, the more interesting the “landscapes” will look. Coarse salt and sand make paintings in jars worse.

Ideas for a bath

The following items will make the interior of a bathhouse or sauna more soulful: a portrait doll on a wire frame, brownies that protect the owners, humorous hats that are so pleasant to take a steam bath in.

Toys made of bast or straw are suitable for bathhouse decor. We suggest making a symbol of the coming year - a goat. And let it give you every visit to the steam room new portion good luck, health and a lot of happiness! Have fun!

The desire to relax after a busy week of work often brings people to the bathhouse. Great way relaxation, combined with a healing effect against the background of receiving hygienic procedures - it is difficult to choose a better place to relax. Jacuzzis, showers and other delights of progress cannot be compared with the opportunity to communicate in a warm environment. The design of the bathhouse directly affects the process of physical cleansing and psychological relaxation in comfortable conditions.

Features of the bathhouse interior

The competent design of the bathhouse inside skillfully combines the desire to create a cozy atmosphere with compliance with fire safety rules. Any little details regarding the placement of flammable items should be taken into account at the interior planning stage. There is no point in saving on bathhouse design. Although plastic has visual appeal, it is not suitable as a finishing material for a bathhouse. The fumes that appear as a result of heating the air irritate the mucous membranes and are generally harmful to the body.

The presence of a bathhouse or sauna in a private home will no longer surprise anyone. But thanks modern technologies, you can install a sauna cabin even within a city apartment. Saunas have an important and often decisive advantage over a Russian bath - they are universal, it is easier to build them from scratch or install them in an already finished room. It all depends on the amount of available space, the choice of sauna capacity and the financial capabilities of the homeowners.

If you have decided on the area for a home sauna, you need to decide how many people the steam room should accommodate at the same time. For one or two people you can get by with a sauna cabin, for a family holiday you need a larger area, to receive guests you need to take care of a relaxation room, in addition to the steam room in the sauna.

Sauna cabins for one or two people

Currently, you can purchase either a ready-made sauna cabin or assemble it from separate panels, it all depends on how individual the appearance, functionality and design you would like to get.

A small sauna cabin can be installed directly in the bathroom; the only condition for installing the finished structure is a margin of a few centimeters between the ceiling of the room and the upper part of the cabin. The height of such booths usually does not exceed 2 m, which is caused by the requirements for normal operation ventilation.

Even in a small nook of the bathroom you can place a cabin, more like a steam room for one person. The advantage of ready-made structures is that they already require the correct placement of the stove and ventilation.

Ready-made sauna cabins are supplied various sizes, made from different breeds wood, but mainly from aspen, linden and some coniferous species wood

Doors to mini-saunas are usually completely glass or wooden frame with large transparent glass. This choice is due to the psychological component, which must be taken into account in small enclosed spaces.

If there is a window, even a small one, in one of the walls, you should take advantage of this opportunity. This will not only relieve psychological tension small space, but also provide it with additional lighting.

Individual ordering of a booth involves, first of all, unique design, which can become either a harmonious addition to a ready-made bathroom project or act as the “highlight of the program”, attracting all eyes.

You can even install a sauna cabin in the attic or within the attic space. These are rooms that are often empty or used as storage for things that are rarely used. Organizing a useful and practical place for relaxation with a sauna is a rational embodiment of the dreams of many homeowners of private houses with an attic.

Sauna design with swimming pool

If the area of a private household allows it, then installing a swimming pool as part of a home sauna takes the project to a completely different level. Plunging into the cool waters of the pool after a hot steam room is not only a pleasure, but also an excellent conditioning for the whole body.

As a rule, the interior of the steam room and the pool room are connected only by the floor covering. Most often, all surfaces of the steam room are lined natural wood, which is not treated with varnish or any other substances. For a pool room, there is nothing better than using tiles, mosaics or stone to finish the surfaces.

The type of wood that will be used to decorate the steam room can be selected based on color palette, selected for the remaining surfaces of the room for the pool and recreation room.

This steam room near the semicircular pool sits perfectly next to the modern wine cellar. Autonomous systems heating and cooling systems make it possible to place utilitarian structures with different characteristics and functionality within the same room.

Natural stone in sauna design

Decorating one of the walls not only of the sauna room, but also of the steam room itself allows you to add variety to the total wood finish, without sacrificing practicality. Natural stone can withstand high temperatures, it is moisture resistant and durable. But, of course, natural material increases the cost of the sauna project and makes it more expensive in terms of time and labor resources.

The harmonious combination of stone and wood helps the sauna design gain individuality and charm.

Dark stone tiles acts as an excellent contrast to the warm reddish shades of wood.

The use of several types of stone coverings of different textures and shades within one room creates a stunning effect. In such a company, even marble-style porcelain tiles will look chic and natural.

The raw stone effect brings a natural element to the sauna room. A little rusticity went a long way modern premises with an expressive atmosphere.

Using pebbles instead of stone or ceramic slabs for flooring– an interesting design move that adds uniqueness and originality to the room. Not to mention the benefits of foot massage while walking on a textured floor.

Just one wall with stone trim transforms the entire sauna environment, acting as a contrast and adding variety.

Using lighting systems in sauna design

IN lately In sauna design projects, it is increasingly common to use not just built-in lamps or lamps, but a whole ensemble of lighting various forms and shades.

Despite glass doors and the presence of lighting in the sauna room, steam room is sufficient dark place and additional lighting will not hurt her.

Wooden platforms, sun loungers and seating areas are often illuminated.

Using LEDs, you can illuminate not only places for bathhouse attendants, but also entire surfaces and individual structural elements.

The lighting can be of any color, everything is limited only by the preferences of the homeowners and their personal choice.

And finally, some interesting images of saunas located in rooms with an original design.

These luxurious sauna-steam rooms look attractive, but at the same time do not lose their practicality and meet all the required functionality.

Having free space on plot of land, you can build a strong and very functional bathhouse. Moreover, the last factor is due to the competent design of premises, their decoration and furniture. Regardless of the size of the building, rooms such as a steam room and an entrance hall with a wardrobe should be equipped inside.

But such an economical option can hardly be called quite comfortable, therefore, among the rooms recommended for design, decoration and equipment with all the necessary equipment, the following can be distinguished:

  • shower, washing or washing room. Major production will take place here hygiene procedures in the form of taking a shower. The room can be equipped with a small font and a waterfall bucket for dousing;

  • separate bathroom. There is no need to talk about the purpose of this room. It is especially important to allocate a room for a toilet in two-story bathhouses with a kitchen and sleeping area;

  • recreation area with dining area. This room is intended for relaxation after steaming and drinking tea. The area can be supplemented with a fireplace, a seating area and other furniture and decorations;
  • kitchen area. Relevant for large bathhouses, where large groups often relax. The kitchen area can be small and consist of an electric stove, kettle and microwave oven. Sometimes the kitchen is supplemented with a herbal bar, equipped with a counter with high chairs and a cabinet for storing packages with elite varieties of tea and medicinal herbs;

  • pantry. A small room with shelves and cabinets should be allocated for storing bath sheets, towels, hats, shoes, etc. This is where you should store household chemicals for cleaning, so as not to clutter the shower with it;
  • sleeping area. For example, under separate bedroom You can select the second floor. It will be pleasant for visiting guests to settle down here if there is not enough space in the house;
  • boiler room for boiler equipment;

  • billiard room;
  • solarium;
  • pool;

  • laundry. It is recommended to design it next to the shower room for ease of installation of water supply and sewerage wiring. Can be installed in the laundry room washing machine, drying cabinet or regular floor/wall dryer, ironing board for bath linen;
  • veranda or terrace;

  • a small vestibule (relevant for baths that are used all year round).

Depending on the available budget, you can equip only some of the proposed premises, for example, a bathroom, shower and relaxation area. If you plan to build a truly luxurious health complex, and it’s not difficult to shell out a “tidy sum” for comfort, you should think about including all the above-mentioned premises in the estimate.

Arranging a steam room. 1 – foil. 2-insulation. 3-membrane. 4-ceiling plinth made of wood. 5-floor wooden plinth. 6-vent valve. 7-ceiling made of wooden lining. 8-light. 9-floor made of wood. 10-shelf 11-thermometer and hygrometer. 12-back shelf. 13-chimney. 14-water tank. 15-heater. 16-stove bathhouse. 17-protective screen. 18-non-flammable base under the stove. 19-door to the steam room. 20-bath accessories. 21-light therapy or LED lighting.

It is customary to arrange a steam room on the first floor of a building. The entrance to the steam room can be from the shower or dressing room. The door to the steam room is installed from tempered glass or wood, strictly without metal decorations, inserts and fittings (except for hinges), because the metal can heat up and burn the visitor. It is customary to allocate 1-2 meters for one steamer square areas premises. The oven will take about another meter. Accordingly, the comfortable dimensions of the steam room are 3-5 sq.m. Too big steam room with high ceilings It’s not worth doing - it will take a lot of time and fuel to warm up the room, and the air will be dried out from the hot stove.

Video - Optimal sizes of baths and steam rooms

The ceiling height is set from 2.2 to 2.6 m, depending on the height of the bathhouse owners and the height of the shelves, which in turn can be 1-3 tiers. The shelves themselves are made so that it is comfortable to sit and lie on them, and a steamer with a broom can stand nearby and perform bath procedures. Top shelf make it the widest, and the recommended height of each tier is 35 cm. It is better to sew up the space under the shelves to reduce fuel consumption for heating the unused area of the room.

It is advisable to make shelves from deciduous wood; the use of cedar/larch is acceptable. Wood can be combined, but it must be good quality– dry, without knots, resin pockets, traces of rot and mold, carefully sanded. For convenience, it is worth purchasing or making your own headrests from aspen or linden, as well as a tub and a bucket with long handle. You definitely need to hang a bath thermometer with a hygrometer in the steam room to regulate the degree of heating and air humidity.

The lighting in the bathhouse is rarely bright. Mainly ceiling and wall lamps covered with wooden lampshades/shades so that soft twilight reigns in the steam room. Additionally, diode tape can be used for color therapy, as well as optical fiber to create the effect of a starry sky.

The stove is usually located closer to the door. Moreover, the heater can be made of brick or made of steel (wood-burning, electric).

Sauna stove at the entrance to the steam room

Sauna heater installed on ceramic tiles

When installing a stove, it is extremely important to properly insulate the wall, floor, and ceiling at the point of contact with the exhaust chimney. The stove is placed at a distance of at least 10-15 cm from the wall, if the firebox door opens into the steam room, if the sauna stove is located simultaneously in two adjacent rooms and the firebox door opens into the dressing room, in interior partition a recess is cut, its dimensions exceeding the dimensions of the oven by 10-15 cm on each side of the heating surfaces. Insulation is made using asbestos cardboard, brick, ceramic tiles, stainless steel sheets.

Separately, it is worth considering options for finishing the walls, ceiling and floor. In addition to the standard lining and wooden floor there are some interesting ideas.

Salt crystals or blocks for halotherapy in your own bath/sauna

Have a pronounced therapeutic effect on the body as a whole, respiratory system And skin in particular.Salt crystals are installed in dry steam saunas. Maximum evaporation of microelements occurs at 60 degrees, but already at 75 degrees the blocks turn into a salt solution. Salt bricks should not be allowed to come into contact with water, because... salt dissolves in it.Salt crystals are used to make spectacular rectangular wall inserts; it is also possible to decorate one or more walls from floor to ceiling.
Cladding with salt blocks is combined with diode or other lighting; to fix the masonry, a two-component quick-setting adhesive is used (hardening time from 10 minutes).
Wild stone or decorative brick

The uniqueness of the interior, the unusual combination of stone and wooden surfaces. Improved fire safety. When using medicinal types of stone, for example, soapstone or jadeite, there is an additional healing effect.
Stone can be used to cover both part of the wall behind the stove and the entire wall behind the heating device. Sometimes stones are attached instead of baseboards to the floor and ceiling. It is worth remembering that the stones in the sauna get very hot, so you should not allow them even to come into accidental contact with the skin of visitors to the steam room.If a wooden wall is faced with stone, you will need to attach construction waterproofing paper to it (overlaps on all sides of 4-8 cm). A painting mesh should be secured on top of the waterproofing layer with galvanized staples or nails (fastening spacing vertically is up to 15 cm, horizontally - up to 40 cm, at the corners the mesh is laid in two layers). The mesh is plastered, and after 1-1.5 layers of plaster have dried, facing stones are laid on cement-sand mortar. It is recommended to first lay out the stones on the floor and number them for convenience. It is better not to use stones that are too heavy for cladding.

Tiles with a thickness of more than 10 mm are installed using metal fastenings and pouring cement-sand mortar/glue/mastic into the seams.The tiles are fixed to the plastered surface of the walls. To fix tiles, highly specialized adhesive compositions are used; for marble, latex or polyurethane based (waterless) compounds are used.
The laying is carried out from the bottom up, the seams are laid with crosses or wedges to maintain the same thickness.
Cork moisture resistant coating

Suitable for both additional insulation walls, and for their finishing.Plates are used with a thickness of 20-40 mm.Installation of slabs on the wall is carried out using specialized adhesive for cork coverings. It is permissible to use cork plinths for arranging a steam room.

Beautiful, durable, looks noble.Quite cold, it is advisable to install underfloor heating systems under a porcelain stoneware covering. Must be non-slip. The seams are treated with moisture-resistant grout to prevent the spread of mold and mildew.

Shock absorbent, warm to the touch, goes well with wooden surfaces. Not slippery.Suitable for installation in a steam room, because... the floor temperature rarely exceeds 30-40 degrees.
Wooden boards and wood mats

Such coatings can be laid on concrete or porcelain stoneware.Treatment with moisture-proof impregnations and periodic air drying are required.

Pay attention! It is unacceptable to use any plastic, rubber coverings, linoleum, PVC tiles and panels for arranging a steam room. Finishing materials and furniture when heated should not emit a chemical odor or resin.

The ceiling in a Russian bathhouse has long been made of timber, lining, and boards. Exactly wooden surfaces They tolerate high temperatures well, fill the bathhouse with a pleasant aroma and do not contribute to the accumulation of condensation - wood tends to “breathe”.

There is no point in painting the ceiling, covering it with plywood, chipboard, or plastering - high humidity and temperature will quickly ruin such a finish. In Turkish baths, mosaics are often used to decorate the ceiling, but it is worth remembering that the humidity and temperature in hammams are much lower than in Finnish and Russian steam rooms. Can be used cork covering Thermocork 100 mm thick, specially designed for bathhouse ceilings (cost 3900-4000 rubles per 1 sq.m.).

It is advisable to equip the steam room with one window. A particularly eccentric option is panoramic blind window all over the wall. Such a window allows you to admire nature from your own steam room, while the mirror coating with outside will not allow the curious to look inside. But remember that than bigger window, the greater the heat loss.

The most common option is an opening single-leaf window 60x60 cm or 40x60 cm. The window is not placed on the wall behind the stove or sun loungers. The height from the floor to the bottom sash cannot be less than 170 cm - this is the height that implies effective ventilation of the room ( natural circulation air). The frame can be made of wood or high-quality plastic that can withstand temperatures up to 120 degrees.

Sometimes instead of a window they insert glass blocks. They allow you to save on lighting the steam room during the day.

Arranging a shower or washing room

The shower room can be organized as separate room or adjacent to the steam room, for example, separated only by a glass damper or a partition made of glass blocks. A cabin can be installed here or a shower tray with a drain for water drainage can be arranged. If you plan to have a large number of visitors, it is recommended to install two or three showers.

Directly in the shower room, in addition to the shower itself, there should be a bench, a mirror, as well as hooks and non-hazardous shelves for toiletries.

Often the washing room is equipped with a dousing bucket and a bathtub made of acrylic or cast iron. Fonts are also installed in the washing room, especially if there is not enough space to arrange a full-fledged swimming pool.

The temperature in the shower should be higher than in the dressing room, but significantly lower than in the steam room.

Hot water supply is organized by connecting to central water supply, installing a boiler or installing a heat exchanger and a remote water tank (from 80 to 120 liters).

Water disposal is organized in central sewer, septic tank or drainage well. Installed in the shower drain(the floor is poured or laid with a slope towards the drain funnel), from which waste liquid is discharged through a pipe with a diameter of 110 mm. One person needs about 50 liters of water to take a shower; accordingly, using this figure, you can calculate the volume of a septic tank or storage cesspool for a bathhouse. By the way, cleaning and storage units should not be located near the walls of the bathhouse or in the underground - an unpleasant odor will penetrate into the room. It is recommended to install a local installation 5-10 m from the walls of the bathhouse.

Coating options for wall, floor and ceiling cladding are shown in the following table.

WoodShowers adjacent to the steam room are often decorated with wood so as not to disturb the overall style of the premises. Wood does not tolerate constant humidity well - fungus develops and rot appears. It is worth considering the possibility of installing a shower tray or cabin to minimize the effect of moisture on the material of the walls and floors, as well as regularly drying the boards and treating them with antiseptics.
Wood
Ceramic tiles, porcelain tiles, mosaics
These materials are most appropriate in a shower room, but it is important to choose products with a non-slip surface, and seal the seams with compounds that prevent mold. It is recommended to place wooden or rubber mats on tiled floors.
PVC panelsThis material can be used for finishing walls and ceilings only in showers that are not adjacent to the steam room. Plastic does not tolerate high temperatures, but it is not afraid of high humidity. The panels are quite easy to install and clean, but the strength of the material leaves much to be desired.
Natural stoneThis solution is not to everyone’s liking due to the extraordinary nature of the interior and the coldness of the coating. However, the stone tolerates high humidity well and is quite suitable for cladding shower walls.

Don't forget about ventilation in the shower. There should be a hood with an electric fan under the ceiling. For natural ventilation, it is worth placing a small opening window closer to the ceiling, this is especially true for wooden baths and showers finished with timber and clapboard.

Advice! To ensure less heat escapes from the shower room, it is recommended to install a threshold at the entrance to the room, and also install a door of small height (from the standard 2.37 m, 2.07 m, 2 m and 1.87 m, the smallest is selected, and this value should be reduced further by 10 cm). The justified width of the doorway is 75-80 cm.

Bathroom

The bathroom can be a separate room or combined with a shower room. In the first case, in addition to the toilet or dry closet, it is recommended to install a washbasin with a mirror, a cabinet, a shelf, and a paper holder in the room. The finishing of a separate bathroom can be absolutely anything, starting with classic tiling and plastic panels and ending with cork, linoleum, a combination of various materials.

Ventilation in the toilet is very important. According to the rules, a toilet room with 1 toilet should receive up to 50 cubic meters of fresh air every hour.

Often a heating radiator is installed in the toilet to make it comfortable during the cold season. It is also worth placing a boiler here so as not to spoil the interior of the washing room.

If you plan to install a toilet in the shower room, it is worth equipping two forced hoods. One will prevent moisture from accumulating under the ceiling, the second will ventilate the space above the toilet.

The finishing of the shower room and toilet is done in the same style; for convenience, the toilet is installed in the far corner of the washing room and is fenced off with a partition, curtain, or screen. It is unacceptable to use materials similar to linoleum in the shower and toilet. Standard finishing options include tiles, lining, mosaic, stone, plastic, etc.

Water can only be drained from the toilet into a local treatment facility or central sewer system. If leaky floors are installed in the bathhouse, separate provisions must be made for the toilet. sewer network(or an independent mobile dry toilet is installed, for example, composting or liquid type).

Of course, each private developer designs a bathhouse based on his own capabilities and preferences, but it’s worth familiarizing yourself with federal regulations prescribing the rules for arranging baths in general and restrooms in particular:

  • SanPiN 983-72, 2.1.2.2645-10 and 42-128-4690-88;
  • SNiP 30-02-97;
  • SNiP 31-05-2003;
  • and to organize a shower and toilet for a disabled person, you should pay attention to the second edition of the comprehensive design manual environment for persons with disabilities(from 1997, prepared by Moskomarkhitektura).

Dressing room and wardrobe

The dressing room is the last room that must be on the first floor. This room can be large and spacious or very tiny. In any case, there must be an entrance to the shower from the dressing room. The finishing of dressing rooms is most often made of wood to emphasize the style of the bathhouse. It is advisable to arrange furniture made of wood.

The recommended air temperature in the dressing room is 26-28 degrees. Ventilation can be natural, for which opening windows are installed, which in turn are a source of additional light during the daytime. Artificial lighting It’s worth making it rich enough (chandelier and wall sconces), but not harsh.

The dressing room can be combined with a dressing room if the entire bathhouse small size. In this case, you should follow the following recommendations:

  • The height of the ceiling should exceed the height of the person, taking into account raised hands. Optimal – 2.4-2.6 m;
  • the number of seats, hooks and shelves for clothes should correspond to the expected number of bathhouse visitors;
  • the floor in the dressing room and dressing room should be warm and non-slip so that it is comfortable to walk barefoot. For example, you can install a “warm floor” or lay a carpet;
  • it is worth providing one or more electrical outlets;
  • It is recommended to equip the dressing room with a mirror.

By the way, the dressing room can be combined with the kitchen area by installing a corner kitchen set with household appliances. If you plan to not only brew tea in the kitchen, but also fully prepare food, you need to install a separate hood, and also plan to lay water and sewer pipes for connecting a sink.

Advice! Not worth installing kitchen cabinets under the stairs so that dust from the steps does not fall on the dishes.

Second floor

In the photo - cozy bedroom in the attic bathhouse

Everyone decides for themselves how to arrange the second floor. Whether there will be a bedroom, a billiard room, a solarium or a simple storage room upstairs depends on the size of the bathhouse and the budget of its owner. However, we strongly recommend installing a safe staircase with wide steps between floors, and adding a small balcony to the residential floor.

Arrange the bathhouse so that you feel cozy and comfortable in it.
