How to connect a skirting board with water heating. Water warm plinth: price, reviews, technology. Electric warm plinth

In our market, a novelty in solving heating problems has become new system providing heating - warm plinth, although in Europe it has been known for two decades and is considered quite effective there. A metal plinth is mounted around the perimeter of the room, and a heating element is located inside it. Heating here is carried out due to thermal radiation. This system can supplement heating with radiators or even be the only source of heat in a private house or apartment.

The principle of operation of a warm plinth

The warm baseboard has simplest principle action: electricity or heat transfer fluid heats the tubes and their fins, which radiate heat, heating the outer aluminum body of the plinth.

Evenly heated along the entire length, the body creates a kind of thermal curtain near the walls. The air slowly rising along the walls warms them, giving them its heat. A screen is created near the walls and windows, which does not allow heat to leave the room, and the heated walls gently radiate heat into the room, heating it. As a result, heat from warm baseboards is distributed more evenly around the perimeter of the room, and, therefore, the room also warms up more evenly along the height.

Warm skirting board design

Externally, this device is a metal box with dimensions of 30x140 mm. Such a box is mounted directly on the wall, replacing the classic wooden or plastic plinth. On the upper side in the box there is a gap through which the heated air flows along the wall, rushing up. Aluminum panels heat up to 40-70 degrees, while a comfortable temperature is set in the room.

This design compares favorably with conventional radiators located at some distance from the floor in that the heat-radiating baseboard is able to heat the lowest level of the room.

Inside the box there are special brackets on which a heating element is mounted, consisting of a pair of copper tubes, where brass plates are fixed. Copper tubes have an internal diameter of only 11 mm with a wall thickness of 1 mm. The heating modules are connected to each other with crimp nuts or by means of copper soldering, and special copper or polyethylene swivel tubes are used in the corners.

The coolant, which is most often ordinary water, enters the circuit through the supply pipes from the distribution manifold. It is advisable to complete the distribution manifold with cut-off and drain taps, flow meters and automatic air traps. In addition, it is useful to add a water pressure gauge and a thermometer to the warm baseboard, with the help of which it would be possible to control the entire system and make it easier to manage its parameters.

Classification of warm plinth systems

Like the underfloor heating system, warm skirting boards can be:

  • water;
  • electric.

Water warm plinth

Despite the name, not only water, but also heavy alcohols can circulate through the tubes of this circuit. On the running meter plinth to fill the tube takes 0.34 liters of coolant, whose working temperature can vary between 50-85 degrees. Temperature control is carried out automatically or manually through the collector. The water skirting perfectly adapts to both centralized and autonomous heating systems, while it can even serve as the main source of heat in the room, and not just as an additional one.

The length of each contour of a warm water plinth cannot be longer than 13-15 m, therefore, if the perimeter of a room exceeds this value, then several consecutive autonomous circuits must be installed in it.

Electric warm plinth

The warm electric plinth is heated with the help of heating elements with a power of 200 W per linear meter of the module length. At the same time, the operating temperature does not exceed 60 degrees. All heating elements included in the system are interconnected in parallel. Their work can be regulated through a wall-mounted electronic or electromechanical temperature controller with a built-in ambient temperature sensor.

The heaters are laid in the lower copper tube, and in the upper one there is a special cable with a heat-resistant sheath. The voltage from this cable is transmitted to the electric heaters located under it, which are sections from 0.7 to 2.5 m long.

Advantages and disadvantages of a warm skirting board

Advantages

  • When using a warm baseboard, almost all restrictions on the arrangement of furniture in the room are removed, as soon as its location close to the walls can lead to its overheating and drying out.
  • A warm baseboard helps to create a comfortable microclimate in the room, and slow air currents rising along the walls do not raise a lot of dust. The volume of the room will warm up more evenly: the ceiling is not too hot, and the floor is not too cold.
  • Constant heating of the walls will finally rid them of mold and dampness, and if such heating is used in rooms with a large glazing area, then condensation does not form on the windows.
  • Due to the small cross-section of the tubes, no large volume coolant, which reduces the cost of its preheating. The coolant circulates more intensively, due to which the heat loss of the system can be reduced by 5%. It also leads to a decrease in the thermal inertia of the system, which responds faster to any adjustment in the operating mode. In the electric version of the warm skirting board, it is possible to save electricity.

  • Due to the fact that the device does not heat up too much, it is possible to save energy costs. Due to the possibility of separate adjustment for each room, it is possible to maintain the desired temperature in any of them.
  • Skirting boards are very easy to install, as they consist of ready-made modules that only need to be connected to the heating system or power supply.
  • Moderate heating of skirting board boxes makes them safe for curtains, furniture and other items located near the walls.
  • After installation, the skirting boards remain almost invisible, they can organically fit into any interior style, since aluminum protective panels can have different colors.

Flaws

  • The high cost of the structure itself.
  • High energy costs.
  • This system needs constant functioning.
  • because of low power the warm baseboard system is unable to quickly warm up the room; it will warm up the walls for a long time until they begin to give off heat.

The question is natural - what is better than a warm floor or a warm baseboard, because the system of a warm baseboard in many ways resembles its sister underfloor heating system, but it requires much less effort and cost during its installation.

In addition, a warm floor (primarily water) can not be installed in every room, since a concrete screed needs to be prepared for it. There are no such restrictions for the plinth, it only needs that flat wall. Wherein modular design system makes it mobile, so it can be dismantled and assembled in another room if necessary.

Installation of a warm plinth

Training

  • the climate of the area;
  • glazing area;
  • the quality of the thermal insulation of the room.

For a temperate climate, the average power consumption is 100 W/m2. If the dwelling is well insulated, then you can put in it a cheaper and less powerful system.

To connect adjacent modules of the device, it is desirable to use copper soldering - this method is considered the most reliable, since it allows you to withstand high pressure and thanks to this, the system can be connected to centralized heating. If a copper soldering is not possible, apply threaded fittings. Boiler water is supplied through reliable pipes from polymers.

Installation process using the example of a water system of a warm skirting board

Usually a warm baseboard is connected through a distribution comb or manifold.

For the system to function effectively, it is necessary that the length of each heating element did not exceed 13 meters, and then the next element would work, connected separately to the comb.

  1. Lead pipes from the distribution manifold to the installation site of the panels.

  1. Before installing, mark the installation lines for the panels, keeping in mind that the distance from the box to the floor should be about a centimeter.
  2. Attach the back panel to the marked line and mark the mounting holes, which can then be drilled with a puncher.
  3. Fix the panel with self-tapping screws and plastic dowels or glue. The rear side of the box has stops that provide the necessary indentation of the device from the wall, which is 15 mm.

  1. Stick heat-insulating tape between the skirting board body and the wall, carefully trim the edge of the tape.

  1. Drill 2 holes in the bearing brackets for self-tapping screws, countersink them.

  1. Insert the prepared brackets into the slot of the upper bar with a step of 50 cm.

  1. For corner joints, prepare and install the upper parts of the corners.

  1. Install the bar with brackets on the prepared place on the wall. Attach the brackets with self-tapping screws, drowning their hats.

  1. Break and remove the lower parts of the brackets - they were only needed to maintain the strict parallelism of the installation of the upper bar relative to the lower one.

  1. Insert a PTFE gasket into each bracket.

  1. Prepare the heating module for installation by cutting off excess sections if necessary. To connect the module, it is necessary to remove 2-3 lamellas from the edge. Put on the connecting nuts, rubber gaskets of the fittings and pressure cones on the pipes.

  1. Connect the heating module, tighten the nuts, make the final crimp.

  1. If necessary, make a linear and / or angular connection of the heating modules.

  1. The fully assembled system must be connected to the collector and run a hot coolant there.
  2. Apply heat reflective tape to inner part closing strip and attach the latter to the brackets in engagement: first put on upper part slats on the hooks of the brackets, then snap the bottom part firmly in place.

  1. You can always choose a decorative closing profile:

A warm skirting board with all the connecting elements is quite expensive, but at the same time it is very effective, and when designing an interior it provides new opportunities.

The nuances of installing electrical panels

  • Due to high consumption electrical power, you can use no more than 17 modules together so as not to overload the network.
  • The electrical cable that feeds the device can be placed outside or inside the wall, covering it with a box.
  • The device is connected to the power supply through a thermostat, which is conveniently attached to the wall one and a half meters from the floor, and you need to leave it Free access. As a rule, the thermostat is installed next to the sockets.

  • Calibrate the device before commissioning.

When making a warm plinth with your own hands, you need to consider two possible options its manufacture:

Option number 1 - from roofing copper

In the first case, the design consists of unannealed copper tubes with a diameter of 12-20 mm and roofing copper sheet with a thickness of 0.4 mm. Such systems are assembled in the following order:

  1. Roofing copper plates must be cut into strips having a width of 15 cm.
  2. Then bend the edges of the resulting strips at a right angle to the base so that the width of the folded part is approximately 7-8 mm. At the same time, the length of the strip itself should not be more than 3 m, otherwise it will be simply inconvenient to work with such blanks.
  3. Then solder the copper tubes to inside body, having previously bent the ends of the tubes a little to the side, so that it is easier to install adapters.
  4. The coolant can be supplied using standard hoses with an inner diameter of 12 mm and fixed with ordinary pipe clamps.
  5. Thereafter homemade skirting boards must be fixed to the wall with mounting clips, which must be selected according to the diameter of the pipes.

Option number 2 - from aluminum profiles

In another option, standard aluminum profiles are used in the structure, the same as those used for the installation of drywall structures. In this case, the assembly order is as follows:

  1. First, several small holes must be made at the top and bottom of the workpiece through which the profile will be attached to the wall.
  2. After that, lay copper tubes inside it and fix them with aluminum wire.
  3. Then the profile, together with the tubes, must be fixed on the wall in such a way that one of the tubes is higher than the other.
  4. To collect all the fragments in single system, the easiest way is to use standard connectors, for example, fittings. The front panels in such boxes can be the same profiles that you just need to paint in a color that is in harmony with the color of the walls of the room.

Would you like to install a warm skirting board system in your home or apartment? Or do you already heat your house this way? Tell us about your plans or accomplishments in the comments.

The house should be warm and cozy, only in this case it will be pleasant to live in it.

Previously, fire was used for heating, then the turn of water heating and batteries came.

Today, the system is gaining popularity: despite some features, it is more convenient and practical.

Advantages and disadvantages

Plinth is a decorative element that covers the junction of the wall and floor below.

A warm baseboard is a small heating system that runs under the element.

At the same time, the height of the plinth rises to 12-15 cm, while its width remains unchanged - about 2-3 cm.

The system can be electric and water - each of the options has some features of operation and installation.

Like any system, baseboard heating has a number of advantages and disadvantages.

The first ones include:

Among the shortcomings can be identified:

  • higher cost per acquisition;
  • the inability to completely turn off the plinth, like a battery.

It's important to know: despite the safety of use, it is still not recommended to force a warm baseboard with flammable objects, especially when it is working at maximum.

Installation of the water version

not much different from the usual battery central heating: heating occurs due to the supply of hot water, which passes around the entire perimeter of the room. He connects to heating boiler and is more economical option compared to electric.

The system consists of:

  • heat exchanger, inside which circulates hot water, it consists of two copper pipes, between which aluminum radiator plates lie;
  • fasteners;
  • external facade and plugs.

Take note: the total length of the water plinth should not exceed 15 meters, otherwise it will not be able to heat the entire room.

Installation of a warm baseboard is not difficult, you can do it yourself:

Installing a water plinth is not difficult, but if in doubt, you should contact the professionals.

Experts advise: if the perimeter of the room is more than 15 meters, it is necessary to install several closed circuits, each of which will lead to central heating.

Assembly of electrical models

consist of the same parts as water ones, but instead of a heat exchanger with water, they contain special copper tubes.

The system consists of:

  • a heating rod located inside a silicone cable that can withstand temperatures up to +180 degrees;
  • heat shrink tube with a diameter of 12 mm;
  • clamp for grounding;
  • heating register;
  • connecting element;
  • metal base, fasteners and external decorative elements.

Before installing the system, it is necessary to calculate required power so as not to purchase a model that is too cold or hot. To do this, take an average value of 100 W per 1 sq. m - it can be reduced or increased depending on the average temperature in the region.

Note: the installation of the electric skirting board should be above the floor, at a distance of about 1 cm - the wires should not lie on the floor.

Do-it-yourself system assembly includes several steps:

Specialist's note: electric warm baseboard must be grounded and tested to avoid serious problems.

Warm skirting is gradually becoming more and more popular with many families. Due to the uniform distribution of heated air, it helps not only to maintain the selected temperature, but also helps to eliminate excessive wall moisture.

How to make a warm skirting board with your own hands? This question is now very relevant, since the attention of modern builders is increasingly drawn to this innovative method space heating.

Warm baseboards in the house can play the role of both the main and additional system heating in the house. They fit perfectly into the interior and often remain invisible to prying eyes. The width of such skirting boards is usually no more than three centimeters, and the height from the floor level is within 15-20 centimeters.

Install indoors warm plinth do it yourself much easier than, for example, underfloor heating. This will not require concrete screed and other additional processes. At its core, a warm baseboard is a small heat convector capable of heating even very large rooms for a short period of time. In appearance, it is very similar to a regular plinth. Most often metal is used to create it. Heating occurs in three ways: water, electric and infrared. From conventional convectors, which used to be often installed under the windowsill, the warm baseboard differs in the way of heating. If the convector heats the room with the help of a convection flow, then the warm plinth does this due to radiant energy, which has a positive effect on the human body.

Heating a room with a warm baseboard has several significant advantages:

  • The rooms will warm up completely. They will not have cold corners and walls that can become damp even when optimum temperature air when using conventional batteries.
  • Near the window a certain thermal curtain, which does not let cold air into the room. This is especially important at low temperatures outside, strong wind and if a fairly large part of the surfaces are glazed in the room.
  • This method of heating will help save money on energy resources. This will be facilitated by the ray component, which will help to quickly heat the air at minimum cost energy.
  • In such a system, there is no protruding node and various unaesthetic details, so it harmoniously fits into any room without losing its aesthetics.

How to make a warm skirting board with your own hands?

Each owner of a private house who has chosen the "Warm plinth" heating system for his house must decide whether he will install warm plinth do it yourself step by step, or purchase a ready-made system and simply install it. The second option will save you time and effort, but the first one is more profitable financially. One more thing important decision, over which you need to think carefully - this is the type of plinth. The most popular are water and electric warm baseboards, lovers of everything new and unusual prefer to choose the infrared option.

The first thing you need when installing a warm baseboard is a tube, the diameter of which should be at least 1.6 cm. This diameter can be slightly larger, for example 2 cm. As for the material from which these tubes should be made, then here Suitable for both aluminum and copper. Aluminum variant more affordable, but aluminum has a very low thermal conductivity, so such a plinth will heat the room more slowly. Copper pipes are more expensive, but this price is worth paying, then it will pay off thanks to high level thermal conductivity of this material.

to install warm plinth do it yourself, you will also need a brass sheet about 3 mm thick. Instead, you can use aluminum sheet, or assemble a box from aluminum siding. If you find a large aluminum sheet, you can cut out all the necessary details for a warm baseboard from it. When installing a warm baseboard, remember that you need it to heat the room, not the wall. Therefore, all sections of the wall to which it will be attached must be insulated with thick plywood or drywall.

The radiator fins, which you yourself will cut out from a brass sheet, will subsequently perform two functions. They will be emitters and a carrier bracket. Therefore, they must be cut U-shape. Later, you will screw the box bar to them. The bottom of these ribs should be bent outward at an angle of 90 degrees. Thus, you will get a platform for attaching the bracket to the insulating layer.

After you have a finished plate, you need to draw two axes along it - horizontally and vertically. To do this, you will need a compass meter. From the symmetrical horizontal line, you need to retreat another 4 cm in different directions and draw two more lines at these points. With a vertical line, you need to do the same, but you need to retreat 4.5 cm. At those points where additional lines will intersect, you need to drill holes for the pipes. The easiest way to drill them is with a drill, the diameter of which will be half a millimeter larger than the diameter of the pipes you have chosen. If your drill is a few millimeters larger, it's okay, it will work too.

Having drilled all the necessary holes, bend the plate in the form of the letter p. You need to make markings on its legs, since it is with them that it will be attached to the wall. Stepping back three centimeters from the sides of the plate, it is necessary to draw two lines vertically. This is a mark for future folds needed to attach the system to the wall. The boundaries of the upper part of our "P" can be indicated by drawing two lines at a distance of 1.5 cm from the vertical line on its two sides.

If you do use brass sheet to make your own warm baseboard, keep in mind that it is not easy to bend it. You will need a special vise for this. Clamping the metal in a vise so that their upper edge coincides with the fold line, lightly tap with a hammer along this line until its edges drop - this is the maximum, more right angle impossible to achieve at home. But such a fold will be quite enough to install a warm plinth with your own hands without buying special materials for this.

The next step in the installation of a warm skirting board is the connection of radiator brackets with plywood, which serves as wall insulation. You need to connect them with self-tapping screws. Copper pipes are inserted into the finished holes and a warm baseboard is ready for commissioning with your own hands. When working on the creation of such a heating system, do not forget that drywall is a material that holds any type of fasteners very poorly. Therefore, even before you begin to install pipes, you need to put supports under all the brackets. Suitable for this even wooden lath. Each pipe must be fixed every meter with clamps using dowels. These dowels are not recommended to be driven into drywall - it will be much more reliable to fix them in the wall or its lining.

Next, the pipe loop must be looped and connected to a water source if you create do-it-yourself warm plinth water. For this you will need fittings. If you yourself can embed pipes into an autonomous heating system - excellent, if you are unsure of your abilities - better seek the help of a specialist. The most risky craftsmen use ordinary corrugated hoses for this. They are put on the end of a copper tube and tightened with a clamp. This option is quite dangerous and unreliable, therefore, if you have already decided to create a warm water plinth with your own hands, it is better to do it reliably. Think about how your loved ones will cope with the breakdown of such a system if it happens in your absence. It is especially impossible to take risks if there are small children in the house - they may not immediately understand the reason for the appearance of water in the room and damage their skin due to it. high temperature.

Not only installing a warm skirting board with your own hands, but also when completing any other stage in the construction of your house, you should first of all think that all your actions are aimed at the comfort, safety and health of every person who will live in it. Therefore, even independent actions without the help of experienced specialists must be carried out in strict accordance with generally accepted standards and technologies.

Using the same hoses and fittings, you will not only connect your system to the heating, but also loop it. The ends of the copper pipes are connected in such a way that water can flow from one pipe to another, and then into the central system. Since you will most likely buy straight copper pipes, you will also want to bend them at home. To do this, it is customary to fill them with sand and bend around the steel column, plugging the ends. This is quite difficult to do - the pipes can tear or wrinkle, and water will circulate poorly at the places of kinks. Therefore, it is better not to waste time and effort on this losing task, but to use straight pipes, take high-quality hoses for corners.

Do-it-yourself warm electric plinth much harder to install than water. To do this, it is not enough to invest the heating element in a copper tube. It is also necessary to take care of insulation and waterproofing, to check whether the wiring in the house can withstand such an additional load. When installing a warm electric skirting board with your own hands, you need to be extremely careful, because any mistake can lead to a short circuit and even a fire. Each threaded connection in such a system should have rubber gasket. Neither the radiator nor the copper pipes can touch aluminum cladding. If you decide to install a do-it-yourself warm electric skirting board in your house, it is better to purchase all the factory-made ready-made parts and simply install them according to the instructions.

The general principle of creating warm skirting boards unites all such systems. But each of them has its own nuances and features that should be taken into account when creating a warm water plinth with your own hands. The specialists of the InnovaStroy company not only know how to make a warm plinth with their own hands, but also gladly share their knowledge with each new client. They are ready to create for you project of a private house go cottage the whole or that part of the project that you need in particular, including the installation scheme for warm skirting boards.

The warm plinth space heating system has long been studied and actively used by our architects when creating new buildings, if it suits customers. Thus, it turns out not only a new building equipped with modern technologies heating, but also saving material resources, which is important for almost all members of modern society. It is best to buy ready-made systems for installing a warm baseboard and install them using instructions. If this is a water type of skirting boards - ideal option is the Thermiya system from Ukrainian manufacturers. Having bought a ready-made system, you will know that every detail and every connection in it is made in strict accordance with the norms, and your family will live not only in warmth and comfort, but also in absolute safety.

Everyone knows the common methods of heating: underfloor heating and the installation of radiators. However, there is another unusual option- water warm plinth. This option cannot yet be called very common, but nevertheless it should be taken into account, because it combines the advantages of two types of heating at once: and, and warm floors. With the help of warm skirting boards, both administrative and office buildings, and residential buildings and apartments.

Baseboard heating

Despite the fact that in our country what a warm baseboard is, it became known not so long ago, in Europe this method has been used to heat rooms for several decades. This technology is very simple, but at the same time quite convenient. The basis is metal (most often copper) pipes, they are also a heating element. Pipes are installed in the same place where the plinth usually passes, that is, along the perimeter of the room. Then they are closed with a metal box made of plates with a corrugated surface. Due to this design, the box acts as a heat exchanger, thereby increasing the efficiency of the structure.

In general, a water plinth consists of the following elements:

  • front panel with holes for airflow ( standard size: width - 3-4 cm, height - 15-20 cm);
  • rear panel - facilitates installation of the structure and protects the wall from constant exposure to high temperatures;
  • , which performs the function of heating (standard dimensions - 1 m x 0.4 m x 1.6 m);
  • swivel side plugs;
  • a heat exchange module consisting of two tubes through which water circulates.

Currently, there is a variety of warm skirting boards (electric.) They differ from warm water skirting boards only in the type of heating element.

Due to the fact that the plinth is installed around the perimeter of the entire room, the heat gradually rises, and then the entire room is evenly heated. As a result, this technology does not cause temperature fluctuations.
Since the heating element is hidden under the front panel, it is not noticeable, which distinguishes it from massive ones. As you can see in the photo, the warm plinth looks very neat, it can be additionally designed so that it fits better general style rooms.
The system is effective, but at the same time quite easy to install. With minimal skills, you can carry out the installation without involving professionals.

Advantages of baseboard heating

It is not difficult to explain the popularity of water baseboards in the USA and Europe, if you familiarize yourself with all the advantages of such a heating system. The advantages of the system are:

  • Saving usable area in the apartment. The skirting board does not take up much space, which can be invaluable for the inhabitants of small rooms.
  • Install a hot water baseboard do it yourself is not particularly difficult - this allows you to save money, since there is no need to pay for the work of the masters.
  • Good room heating.
  • High rate of efficiency.
  • Efficiency.
  • If there is a need for repair, access to the internal components is extremely simple: you need to remove the front panel.
  • The appearance of the skirting board can be easily changed according to the requirements of the style.
  • Skirting boards are available in different color options.
  • It goes well with different floor coverings.
  • The plinth consists of separate modules, each of which, if necessary, is easy to replace or upgrade.
  • If you install a thermostat, then the heating will be maintained at the same level.
  • aesthetic appearance, you don't have to look for ways to hide the batteries.
  • Heating takes place from different sides, not from one.
  • Compactness.

Heating with a water baseboard - the best option if you need quality heating system, compact and efficient, yet easy to install.

Equally important is the fact that a warm baseboard is one of the few heating methods that is ideal for "non-standard" rooms (with high ceiling, arched entrance, large quantity window openings). Even in such rooms, the air warms up quite quickly and evenly.

Water warm plinth can be used as independent system heating, or can be combined with a more traditional one. For example, radiators or underfloor heating are often installed in residential premises, and water skirting boards are installed on loggias, covered verandas, in pantries, utility rooms and other rooms that are not used so often. A warm baseboard prevents the appearance of fungi, mold, as it heats up not only the air in the room, but also the walls. At the same time, the air does not become too “dry”, the temperature is maintained at an optimal level.
This avoids possible restrictions during heating planning in apartment buildings.

Manufacturers of water skirting boards

There are a lot of manufacturers of warm skirting boards now, but when buying, you should always choose only the products of the most famous and reputable companies. Since a warm water baseboard is not yet a common method of heating, manufacturers' brands may not be well known. However, the most famous ones you need to know in order not to make a mistake in choosing:

  • Mr. Tektrum (Russia);
  • Thermia (Ukraine);
  • Best Board (Austria).

The Best Board company produces a line of electric and water warm skirting boards, the latter being the most widespread. The company's products are distinguished by quality and practicality. Such skirting boards are very quickly assembled and disassembled, occupy a minimum of space, and are very convenient to use. Faceplates are available in a variety of styles and colors. At the same time, the cost of structures is rather big - one section (usually 1 m long) costs at least $ 100.

Slightly inferior to Best Board in terms of popularity domestic manufacturer Mr. Tektrum. This manufacturer focuses on budget buyers, so the prices for warm water skirting boards from Mr. Tektrum is significantly lower than its European counterparts. It was possible to reduce the cost of construction through the use of cheaper materials and components. What is especially pleasing is that, if it affects the quality of the structure, it is insignificant.

Tektrum water skirting boards are produced in Vinnytsia and just like Mr. Tektrum are aimed at average buyers. Skirting boards are of good quality, they work well both in houses and apartments, but one section costs 5 times cheaper than from an Austrian manufacturer.

Water or electric baseboard?

Currently, skirting boards are only water or electric, which makes it easier to choose a design. The main criterion can only be the characteristics and conditions of the room.

So, it is not always possible to install a warm water skirting board. The design of such heating requires a heating boiler that will “bring” the water to the desired temperature and direct it to the pipes. In this case, the temperature of the heating circuit must always be approximately at the same level.

For this reason, electricity may seem more profitable option. It is already in the house and does not require the installation of additional structural components. Skirting boards with an electric heating element raise the temperature in the room faster than water ones. Electric skirting boards easier to install - just hold heating cable from the network (voltage - 220 W), fix and close the front panel. It remains only to connect to the distribution unit, and the warm baseboard will start working. But in any case, the installation requires skills in working with electricity.

But at the same time, electricity tariffs are growing almost every year, and as a result, heating will cost much more. In addition, water heating is safer to use than electricity and more convenient in terms of regulation. temperature regime premises.

Installing a water plinth

In order to install a warm skirting board with your own hands, you need to prepare the following tools:

  • wrenches;
  • plastic scissors;
  • pliers;
  • a hammer;
  • perforator or drill;
  • wire cutters.

Before installing a warm baseboard, you need to measure the distance from the section to the collector connection. Cut the plastic pipe with scissors right size with little margin. Apply so that the pipe outlet is 6 cm above the floor level, at least 15 cm must remain to the corner. The pipe must be laid into the floor or into the wall, as it is more convenient.

On the perimeter of the room, glue the installation of skirting boards, on glue or self-adhesive tape. The installation of profiles must be started from the corner. Profile cut and install any convenient way: on silicone, double sided tape or fasten to the wall (floor).

Then you need to install the holders. To do this, you need to drill a hole 15 cm from the edge of the profile, and for the rest of the clips - every 40 cm.

Then the convectors are installed. Cut the plastic pipe to the desired length, trying to make sure that it fits well with the section, no kinks appear. Put on the sleeve, nuts and rubber gasket on the copper pipes. Install the support sleeve into the plastic pipe, twist and tighten wrench the right size.

Attach the radiator to the wall. If brass ribs remain, remove them with wire cutters. Use an adapter to connect to the next section. Fit the skirting board bodies so that there are no gaps, but you need to retreat 1 mm from the corners so that you can then install decorative elements. Attach the radiator to the wall again and remove unnecessary elements.

In the same way, the structure is installed and assembled on other sections. You need to collect, moving from one corner to another. For a section located in the corner of the room, you need to use special corner plastic pipes. The last section needs to be looped. This can be done with a special corrugated stainless steel sleeve.

At the final stage, decorative elements are installed - plugs, corner connections. The system must be connected to the collector, turn on the water supply. Next, you need to watch if water is leaking somewhere. This usually happens at the junctions. If this does not solve the problem, you need to turn off the water for a while and disassemble the structure. It is possible that the sealing gum is damaged, it needs to be replaced.

Often for design optimal system heating is required to apply the minimum size heating appliances. At the same time, their efficiency should ensure the normal maintenance of the temperature regime in the room. One of the ways out in this situation can be the use of a warm skirting board.

This design is a small height heating devices that are installed at the bottom of the wall.

Despite their relatively small size, this type of radiators has a number of important advantages:

  • Compactness. It will harmoniously fit into any room due to the presence of external decorative panels of various configurations and colors.
  • Uniform heating. Since the structure is installed along the perimeter of the room and the lower part, the convection of air flows occurs simultaneously throughout the entire volume.
  • Ease of installation. To install a warm baseboard, it is enough to provide a coolant supply ( water heating) or a place of connection to the mains (designs with a heating element).

But despite all these advantages, there are a number of significant disadvantages:

  • If there is a lot of furniture in the room that stands against the walls, there will be little free space for installing a warm baseboard, and the heating efficiency is reduced by an order of magnitude.
  • Relatively high cost of factory models. The vast majority of them are made of copper, which significantly affects their price.

To solve the last question, you can try to make a warm baseboard yourself.

Design

Structurally, this heating device should consist of several elements.

  1. The back panel, which is necessary for installing heating elements and protecting the wall from thermal exposure.
  2. Heating element - . Their dimensions are usually 1000 * 40 * 160 mm. In this case, the number of heat exchange plates should be maximum.
  3. External panel with slotted holes for air circulation.
  4. Decorative side and swivel caps.

The average power of the factory installation is about 240 W, i.e. for a room with a perimeter of 18 m (20 m²) and an average ceiling height, the maximum power of a warm baseboard will be 4 kW, which is more than enough for efficient heating.

However, for self-manufacturing such an analogue, it is necessary to make a lot of effort and money, which in the vast majority of cases will exceed the cost of buying a factory-made copper plinth. The main problems are as follows:

  • Optimum power rating in copper construction is achieved a large number heat transfer plates. Moreover, their soldering occurs in such a way as to ensure tight contact of the plate with copper tube. This is the only way to achieve efficient heat transfer.
  • Production of a decorative casing that would provide normal air heating and at the same time be resistant to thermal shocks.

Is there a way to do this at home? Alas, the efforts to repeat the construction of a warm copper plinth will not be appropriate. Let's consider an alternative.

Alternative

The main task when designing a warm baseboard on your own is to achieve good heating premises at minimum height and width of the structure.

Since it is impossible to make copper radiators with your own hands, it is recommended to use copper pipes, but without plates. Their diameter varies from 10 to 20 mm. The most effective size is 16 mm.

They are installed along the entire perimeter of the room at a height of 6 cm from the floor level. For better heat transfer, a strip of reflective foil is attached to the wall surface. A steel box can be used as a protective case. Inside the resulting structure, you can install a heater. As an example, you can see a photo of a home-made warm baseboard.

Effective operation of such a design is possible only if several conditions are met:

  1. Minimum temperature difference between pipes. In this case, the resulting thermal radiation will be more efficiently reflected from the wall surface. To do this, it is advisable to install an individual circular for a warm baseboard, which will increase the rate of passage of the coolant, thereby reducing the temperature difference between the heating pipes.
  2. If as decorative panel use a copper screen, it is best to solder the pipes to it. In this case System efficiency will rise significantly.
  3. When using a heating element as a heating element, it is necessary to provide insulation of the pipe surface from the screen, i.e. contrary to the previous recommendation, the pipe should never be welded to the copper panel.
  • Width - 3 cm.
  • Height - 15 cm.
  • Distance to the floor - from 6 cm.

Otherwise, everything is determined by the parameters of a particular heating system. For the best result, competent calculations of specialists are required.
