Hanging swing with your own hands. Do-it-yourself garden swing made of metal: drawings, dimensions and photos of designs. Swing-bench made of wood

Today there are a huge number of accessories designed for the garden. One of them is a garden swing, which will not only become an attractive element landscape design, but also very useful design. Both children and adults love to swing on a swing, because this activity calms, cheers up and has a positive effect on human health.

What swing is better for giving?

For the construction of a swing, only 3 types of materials are used - wood, metal and plastic. Each person decides for himself which one to use in the production of a swing for his own garden. To do this, it is necessary to study the advantages and disadvantages of different models.

The main features of a swing made of wood:

  • practicality and versatility . Wood is a material from which you can build not only the usual single swing, but also cozy sofas with several seats;
  • ecological cleanliness . The tree has a natural origin, so the material is absolutely safe for human health;
  • harmony with the landscape . Wooden swings fit perfectly into any garden design. This advantage favorably distinguishes structures from metal analogues, which require appropriate design of the entire site;
  • safety . Wood is considered a fairly soft material, which greatly reduces the number of injuries. This is especially important if children will swing on the swing;
  • ease of installation . Do-it-yourself wood swings can be made by absolutely anyone who is at least a little familiar with construction work;
  • economy . The cash costs will not be large, since the material itself is inexpensive.

Metal swing characteristics:

  • durability - this is perhaps the main advantage of such products. Metal is an eternal material that will not rot or break;
  • reliability such a swing is undeniable. The material is characterized by hardness and resistance;
  • practicality . Metal is not afraid of the impact of negative factors environment, he is not afraid of rain, blizzards, or ultraviolet;
  • low cash costs . Compared to wood High Quality, then the metal will be cheaper;
  • variety of models . Swings made of metal can be collapsible, welded or forged. Each consumer can always choose suitable option specifically for your site;
  • metal swing able to decorate any plot or garden with their original look , however, the designs require an appropriate stylistic design, otherwise they will not look very harmonious;
  • metal garden swing you can do it yourself , but this will require the appropriate skills and abilities.

Metal swings have many positive characteristics, but they also have some disadvantages. For example, the dense structure and hardness of the material is good, but only on the one hand, on the other hand, the possibility of receiving various blows and injuries increases significantly. In order for the metal not to rust, it is necessary to periodically cover it with a layer of special paint. In addition, many people believe that metal swings are inferior to wooden ones in terms of their aesthetic features.

Pros and cons of plastic swings

As for the plastic swing, experts find in them more minuses than pluses. Such children's swings for giving are distinguished by their low cost and a variety of colors. Among the disadvantages are:

  • plastic constructions do everything design decoration garden plot cheaper;
  • such swings are suitable only for kids, but teenagers and adults will not be able to use them;
  • harmful fumes - this is perhaps the most significant minus of the material. AT hot weather plastic heats up and releases toxic substances into the air, which can have a negative impact on the health of children. For this reason, it is better plastic structures refuse altogether.

Types of garden swing designs

In addition to classification by material, garden swings can be conditionally divided according to the method of fastening the moving part of the product:

  1. horizontal swing - such models are probably familiar to every person since childhood. The structures are long crossbars that have a fulcrum in the middle. In order to swing on such a swing, you need two kids with approximately the same weight;
  1. swing with vertical suspension intended for individual use. Among such structures there are many different types: from simple "bungee" to solid original sofas and benches.

Swings also differ in location, and they can be placed either as part of a whole play complex for children, or stand or are suspended separately.

Having shown imagination, you can combine these two features as you like, as a result, amazing designs are obtained. For example, sofas suspended on chains, as well as circular swings resembling gazebos, are especially popular today.

No less important is the classification by size:

  • product for the whole family . As a rule, they look like a bench with a comfortable high back. Several people can swing on such a swing at the same time;
  • children's products with obligatory strap. Such swings can be different: include a seat and suspension or have seats in the form of chairs, etc.;
  • portable models are convenient and mobile, they can be located at will where it is necessary.

How to make a wooden swing with your own hands?

If desired, a wooden swing can be made with your own hands. It is necessary to decide in advance on the material, design and purpose. In order to decide which appearance will have a product, you can see on the Internet a photo of a swing made of wood.

For work you will need:

  • wooden bars 100x100 or 50x100 mm. It does not matter if the design turns out to be massive, but there is no doubt about its strength;
  • boards needed to build the seat. The footage of wooden parts is calculated in accordance with the drawing of a wooden swing;
  • a chain or strong ropes and a carabiner;
  • mortar from concrete;
  • nails and screws;
  • metal corners.

Of the tools you will need a hacksaw, a hammer, a drill, a tape measure and a screwdriver. After everything is prepared, you can proceed to the main work process, which consists of the following steps:

  1. Production of a bearing support

Initially, a lower frame is constructed, on which are fixed vertical bars. The dimensions of the bars are set in accordance with the dimensions of the seat of the future design. All these measurements are recorded in the drawing of a wooden swing. The following dimensions will be the most optimal: depth - 60 cm and length - 180 cm. without fail should be slightly wider than the seat, about 50 cm. This condition is necessary for better stability and reliability of the entire structure.

After all the materials are measured and prepared, you can begin to fasten the bars with metal corners. When making and installing garden swings made of wood with your own hands, it is necessary to take into account the type of surface on which the structure will stand. If the swing is mounted on open ground without asphalt and concrete, then the bars from which the lower frame is made must be covered with bitumen. This composition will reliably protect the wood from decay.

At the upper points, the side supports in the form of isosceles triangles are connected by a crossbar, to which the seat is suspended. We lay out the lower part of the support, the swing platform. The side supports are poured into pre-prepared pits at an angle to each other. concrete mortar Cross bars are installed. The ends of the beams are treated with resin or bituminous varnish. The crossbars are fixed with metal corners on self-tapping screws. A crossbar is installed between the side "L" - shaped racks and attached to them with large nails through clamps. The supporting structure is ready

After the frame is ready, vertical bars are mounted on it, which will play a role support pillars. Installation is carried out using self-tapping screws and metal corners. In the end, you will get a pair of triangles, a horizontal crossbar should be fixed on their vertices.

  1. seat manufacturing

First you need to assemble a frame from the bars. In total, you will need two such frames: one for the seat, the second for the back. Plywood or slats are attached to these frames - it all depends on which option suits you best. Sitting connects to a back also corners.

Experts recommend leaving an angle of 120 degrees between the seat and the back - it is this slope that will be optimal and most comfortable for sitting. Another element for additional comfort will be armrests, but they are not required.

  1. Fastening

Hooks or staples are attached to the top bar. A chain or cable is threaded through the holes in them. Their length is calculated so that a person sitting on a swing can reach the ground with his socks.

After that, the seat is attached. If desired, the design is complemented by an awning. To do this, build a frame of bars, and then pull any waterproof fabric over it.

All joints are fixed with metal corners. Powerful screws are screwed into the crossbar for attaching chains. Lastly, a seat is attached to the crossbar. Ready-made swing for a summer cottage

The wooden seat will be hard, so it is recommended to put a couple of pillows on it for comfort. For long-term use of such accessories, it is better to make covers that can be updated or removed at any time in order to clean them.

If you were worried about the question of how to make a reliable wooden swing with your own hands, then you already know the answer.

Do-it-yourself metal swing - diagram

Stages of making a swing:

  1. Preparatory work. This stage is very important, because it is at this moment that all calculations are carried out, and then a drawing of a metal swing is created.
  2. Support manufacturing. Based on the calculations, a drawing is created that will help you make a garden swing from metal with your own hands. The pipes are prepared for welding: rust is removed from them, the required length is measured, and a chamfer is removed on both sides at the joints at an angle of 45 degrees.

Based on the planned swing scheme, it is necessary to weld the pipes. When the support is ready, arcs are attached to the upper part, on which the swing will then be mounted. The design is covered with a special paint for metal.

Poles are mounted in the ground. There are 2 bearings on the crossbar. The grooves in which the crossbar lies.

We must not forget that the practicality and aesthetic appearance of the future product will depend on the professionalism of the welder. For this reason, you should not start work if you are not confident in your abilities, entrust this matter to specialists.

  1. Creating a seat. Segments metal corner welded according to the previously planned garden swing pattern. The seat inserts are sawn out of wooden canvas, and then they are inserted into ready-made metal rectangles. For sitting, you can sew soft mattresses that will become a comfortable addition to the whole structure.

  1. Construction installation. It is best if the swing is under a canopy or in a shady place. The metal structure will be stationary, since its weight does not allow the swing to be moved.

Features of the manufacture of children's swings in the country

When building a structure that is intended for children, some important nuances should be taken into account:

  • the swing should be as strong and stable as possible;
  • without fail, seat belts and special fences must be present on the swing for children;
  • when making a swing, one should build on the height and weight of the child;
  • it is very important that the baby has the opportunity to reach the ground with his socks and get up on his own;
  • all materials that were used to create the structure must be environmentally friendly, safe and hygienic.

All these conditions must be taken into account when building a children's swing for a summer cottage with your own hands, because only in this case you can be completely sure of the safety of your child.

How to make a swing out of tires?

Swings can be made from wood or metal, however, if you want to simplify the task using improvised materials for this, ordinary tires are fine. You can fix such a product on a tree branch or place it near any body of water.

The advantages of such a design include ease of manufacture, cost-effectiveness, as well as new sensations that every person who uses such an invention will feel. In addition, to make a garden swing from tires with your own hands, you will not need any drawings and diagrams.

Stages of making a swing:

  1. First you need to install two pillars, which can be wooden or metal. It is very important that the posts are strong enough to withstand all expected loads.
  2. AT upper part bars, a transverse crossbar is mounted, and already bolts with rings cut into it, into which a rope or chain is threaded.
  3. At the bottom, the rope will be attached directly to the tire itself.

Take old tire without serious damage Wash the tire inside and out thoroughly with a cleaning agent Obtain three medium diameter U-bolts Drill six holes (two evenly spaced) for the selected fasteners Bolt holes Check in advance that the bolt holes are drilled correctly Paint the tire spray paint in the desired shade and let it dry properly Now place the bolts in the holes And secure with washers with inside The result is this design For the top of the swing, you will need a strong chain with fasteners To create a reliable structure, you will need four U-shaped fasteners Attach a fastener with a chain to each of the bolts in the tire On the other hand, connect the chains using one fastener. Fix the two ends of a small chain intended for attaching a carabiner in the same place. You can hang the swing in any place convenient for you!

When creating a swing from a tire, it is necessary to take into account the mass of each element, since in the case of using wooden poles, their tensile strength is important. In general, this design is more suitable for adults or older children, but not for babies. For greater reliability, it is recommended to use not a rope, but a metal chain as fasteners.

Now you know how to make a garden swing with your own hands, it remains only to choose the most suitable design, materials, and you can get to work.

Assembly and installation of the frame

Assembly diagram of the swing frame.

Before installing a children's wooden swing, you must carefully select a place for them. The free space in front of the structure should not be less than 2-2.5 m. Behind the swing there should also be a platform free from bushes and trees (about 1.5-1.9 m). Thinking over the future scheme of the swing, provide a sufficient distance between the seat and the frame posts. In this case, it is 60 cm on each side. That's why load-bearing poles dig in at a distance of 162 cm from each other.

To fix the pillars, you will need to dig holes with a diameter of 30 cm and a depth of 90-100 cm. When choosing a place for a swing, make sure that under future design underground communications and highways (telephone cables, water pipes, etc.) did not run.

The cross beam of the swing frame is assembled from 2 boards 14 cm wide and 4.2 cm thick. It is fixed on the racks with the help of grooves that are sawn into the logs. On the beam itself, it is also necessary to form grooves on both sides. First, mark all the details of the knots and only then proceed to cutting grooves 2.9 cm wide and 15 cm long. Having fixed the supporting pillars of the frame, cut the grooves to the maximum possible depth with a circular saw, and then finish the formation of the grooves with a hacksaw for wood.

In order to select wood to the full depth of the future groove, 2 holes are drilled in the pillars at the corners of the marking. Then, with the help of a chisel, a recess is formed.

The boards from which the cross beam will be made are cut to a length of 220 cm. Then they are pulled together with self-tapping screws and spikes are marked at both ends for fastening to the frame posts. The dimensions of the spikes should match the dimensions of the grooves and be the same on both sides: 15x2.9 cm. They are easiest to saw with a circular saw, and then finished with a chisel. Try to make the surface as smooth as possible. Check the fastenings made before assembling the frame. spikes cross beam should fit into the grooves with some effort.

Installation of poles for the frame

Scheme of installation of pillars for the swing frame.

Dig holes for the posts. Be sure to check the correct position uprights using the building level. Some craftsmen use pipes made of metal for such structures. But experts do not recommend making a swing for a child from this material. Pipes can bend or even crack, and with wooden poles it will not happen. Replacing a worn out wooden rack is much easier and cheaper than a metal frame.

Install the posts in the prepared recesses. Fix their positions with wooden pegs or scraps of boards. After that, once again check the correct location of the racks with a building level. Then pour concrete mortar into the pits so that its surface does not reach 2-3 cm to the ground level. Be sure to tamp the poured concrete, making sure that no voids form in the foundation of the swing.

To avoid errors when installing the frame, it is wiser to first fix one post, and only then fill the second with mortar. So you can adjust their height if necessary.

After the mortar has completely set, fix the top crossbar in the grooves and tighten the post and beam tenon with long self-tapping screws. Prime the entire frame and paint the color of your choice. To make a swing with your own hands, acrylic paints are best suited.

Attachment to the support can be done using:
- thick rope
- metal chains with large links

A swing for a summer residence can be:
- portable
- stationary

By the name it is already clear that a portable swing for a summer residence can be placed in convenient location: on the terrace, in the garden, by the gazebo. They are easy to hide from the rain.

Stationary models have a massive structure and are installed in a specific place. These can be benches without legs with or without a back, models suspended from the ceiling of a terrace or a tree. As a rule, such structures can easily withstand two or three people, unlike portable ones designed for one person.

In order to make a garden swing with your own hands are often used pallets. They need to be sanded with sandpaper, then painted. Sitting on a wooden pallet is quite uncomfortable, so you should take care of soft pillows or a mattress. Products can be decorated with additional decor, in the form of balls, flags, colored ribbons.

Do-it-yourself garden swing made of wood: drawings + dimensions

This is the most common design of stationary products. Metal elements will help to stiffen.

1. It is worth installing supports in pre-prepared trenches.
2. After installation, the pits should be concreted. The mortar should consist of sand, cement and gravel in a ratio of 2:1:1, respectively. The amount of water should be calculated depending on the weight of the cement, approximately 40% of its mass.

A phased plan for creating a children's swing

1. The upper bundle is created from the board (115 × 10 × 5)
2. A visor (145 × 23 × 5) is formed, protected metal parts from the rain.
3. Prepare two racks (275x23x5). They should be buried at least 60 cm, and then concreted. There should be 105 cm between the posts.
4. A stainless steel chain is attached.
5. Seat is made (60×15×5)

Do-it-yourself swing scheme

Scheme of a children's swing

Number 1 indicates the horizontal element of the side part. You need 4 such elements, 70 cm long with the same width and 5 cm height. The product uses three connecting rods with a diameter of 2.5 cm and a length of 80 cm (2), as well as 4 reinforcing squares 2.5x10x10 in size (3). The four vertical side pieces (4,11) are 37.5 cm long and the same width and thickness, which are equal to 5 cm. To create the backrest, you will need two side pieces (5) of the same size. The seat and back are made of rods with a diameter of 2.5 cm and a length of 58 cm. 13 rods are needed for such a swing. The side elements of the seat have a size of 67.5x5x5 (7). The model is hung on special pendants (8) with a diameter of 2.5 cm and a length of 10 cm. You will also need a pin (9), with a diameter of 1 cm and a length of 7 cm, and a seat lock (10), with a diameter of 2.5 cm and a length of 68 cm .

Such a swing can be hung from a tree or made into an A-shaped structure that can withstand higher loads. The stand can be made of wood or metal.

Important! Accurate calculations the angle of the connection of the racks will allow you to design reliable fasteners. For fixing, you can use corners and screws.

Swing for a summer residence: types of fasteners

In order to create a good garden swing made of wood with your own hands, you should use carabiners or anchors.

1. Carabiners can be round or rectangular section, so they are perfect for both cylindrical and square timber.
2. Anchors are the same carabiners only with a through type of fastening.

Models with four legs can have three types of mounting:
- 4 carabiners are attached to the ropes and chains, after which - to the support bars.
- 2 carabiners combine two ropes or chains and are attached at two points on the crossbar
- all ropes are attached to the 1st ring (carbine), which is then hung on a support
Obviously, the first type of fastening provides a uniform load on the entire structure.

Homemade swing and their classification

As a child, it seems that the "winged swing" is able to reach the sun. Growing up, we remember this wonderful feeling of carelessness. And subconsciously we want to repeat it. This is quite possible, because the swing is not only for children:

  • family. They look like a bench with a high back, suspended on strong supports by chains;
  • mobile swing, if necessary, can be moved to another place;
  • the hammock is the ultimate champion for relaxation;
  • gazebo swing. Suitable for several people;
  • balancer or pendulum. A floor structure in the form of a log, which is thrown to one side or the other, depending on the weight of the players;
  • swings - sofas. Soft design with the ability to embody the most daring design decisions;
  • swing - "boats".

According to the manufacturing method, the swing is divided into:

  • frame;
  • frameless.

By installation method:

  • stationary;
  • portable - easy to remove and put away.

The frame can be made from a number of materials and their combinations:

  • plastic and fabric;
  • tires and chains or ropes;
  • wood and chains;
  • rounded and non-rounded bars;
  • metal.

Choosing the Right Option

Before proceeding with the construction, it is necessary to determine the purpose of use and the material of manufacture. If a baby needs a swing up to 3 years old, then a purchased or home-made stationary, stable option is suitable. For children from 5 years old - light plastic or wooden hanging swings. They can be attached to a canopy beam in front of the house or to a powerful tree branch. A noisy children's company will appreciate the entertainment in the form of a balancer (pendulum).

Attention! The most durable are products made of processed wood and metal. For "wintering" it is enough to cover them with polyethylene. Purchased swings with a plastic base covered with fabric - must be disassembled for the winter and stored in a dry, warm room.

If you want the garden swing to serve not only as a place of rest, but also as an accent detail of landscape design, then you can prefer noble forging or eco-friendly wood design.

For the older generation, durable benches with a high back and a canopy are ideal. For noisy youth - swinging sofas with a lot of colorful pillows or hammocks for relaxing with a book.

Original tire design

A swing that any beginner can make from improvised materials. For manufacturing, you will need a car tire, a strong rope and the ability to knit marine knots.

Installation steps:

  1. Drill four holes in the tire. 2 on each side.
  2. Insert the rope into the two holes next to it and tie it firmly below, under the tire.
  3. On the second side, repeat the same steps.
  4. Choose a suitable tree branch or any other crossbar. Hang an impromptu swing on the bar. The main thing is strong knots that ensure the safety of rocking.

Such installation will not take much time, but will bring a lot of joy to children.

Children's entertainment from a board and a rope

The easiest swing to make, which does not require special skills and materials, is a beam suspended on a rope.

Attention! A wooden swing without a back is unstable, so it is recommended to build them for children from 7 years old. If you want a swing with a back, then you can cut the legs off wooden chair and attach it with a rope to the base and back.

For installation you will need:

  • edged or unedged board with a thickness of 3-4 cm and a width of 15-20 cm;
  • strong rope;
  • antiseptic, varnish;
  • hacksaw or saw.

Walkthrough:

  1. Saw off a piece of board to the desired length.
  2. Sand to smoothness.
  3. Cover with antiseptic and varnish.
  4. Cut 2 grooves along the long sides of the board closer to the corners.
  5. Make 2 more dranks on both sidewalls about 3 cm from the corners.
  6. Pass the rope from groove to groove with three "stitches".
  7. Attach the rope to any cross bar.

The fastening feature guarantees the strength of the structure. At the bottom, the rope will not untie and will not fray.

Making a family swing from wood and metal

Evening conversation on a bench swaying steadily promotes mutual understanding. What if you decorate wooden frame cute pillows, then a comfortable rest is guaranteed!

Advice. The thickness of the planks for the seat of the swing bench should be greater than for the back.

Before construction, you need to prepare everything you need:

  • 15 pine or spruce boards 10x25x2500 mm;
  • 1 board 150x50x2500 mm;
  • a chain equal to the length of the swing;
  • 40 self-tapping screws 80x4.5 in size;
  • 200 self-tapping screws 51x3.5;
  • 6 carbines;
  • 2 screws with rings 12x100;
  • 2 screws with rings 12x80;
  • drill, jigsaw, circular saw, hammer, planer.

Action plan:

  1. Cut boards 1.5 m long.
  2. Cut out 6 curly parts for the base of the bench from the thickest board.
  3. Having arranged 6 parts in 1 row, attach wooden planks to them with self-tapping screws. The bar should be fixed first from the ends, then in the middle. The seat will take 17 boards, the back - 15.
  4. Make two armrests and the remaining wood.
  5. Attach a screw with a ring to the bottom of the armrest.
  6. Attach the finished swing to any crossbar. If it is not there, then you can dig 2 beams into the ground, concrete them and connect them with a transverse board.
  7. Attach 2 more rings to the top bar.
  8. Stretch the chain and hang the swing.

A properly built structure will be solid and reliable, and will last for several seasons.

Strong base for any kind of seat

You may want to hang a swing bench or a pair of children's plank rails on chains. The main thing is to mount a reliable base that can withstand both a small load and several adults.

For construction work, the following elements are required:

  • bars 100x100 mm;
  • boards for the construction of the base and canopy;
  • concrete;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • hammer, hacksaw, drill, tape measure.

Advice. The part of the bars intended for digging into the ground should be treated with bituminous varnish or resin.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Determine the location for the swing. This step is important because design is not portable.
  2. Dig 4 holes 1 m deep each.
  3. Set the bars in the pits so that they cross at the top, resembling the letter "L".
  4. Fill the base with concrete.
  5. Fasten the bars with self-tapping screws at the intersections at the top.
  6. Knock down wooden flooring from half of the slats.
  7. From the second half - a canopy with a horizontal crossbar and jibs that strengthen the structure.
  8. Varnish the finished frame.

Any kind of swing can be attached to such a base using rings, a carabiner and a chain.

What to choose, chain or rope?

The safety of the swing directly depends on the type of suspension. The rope is a fairly durable option, especially if it is fixed with maritime knot. But over time, it can stretch or fray. Therefore, such a suspension is recommended only for children's swings that are not subject to heavy loads.

Attention! The optimal rope is kapron with a cross lay from 24 mm.

The chain is a more durable option that can withstand heavy loads.

Advantages of using a metal chain:

  • strong;
  • the weakening of the ring is immediately visible;
  • optimal for weak buildup.
  • when mounted on bearings, it swings very strongly. This means that it is necessary to install a swing speed limiter;
  • in large rings, babies can pinch their fingers.

Garden swings are not just a place of rest, but also an original "highlight" of any site. A rational choice of design, construction taking into account all the nuances and careful maintenance will provide the swing with a “long life”.

Swings for children - one of the necessary elements for the arrangement of the family plot. They will be relevant both in an ordinary household and in the country. And given that now there are a wide variety of designs, each of which can be assembled by a simple layman with his own hands, then you can create a real children's corner at minimal cost, which can not only provide leisure for kids, but also significantly improve the overall exterior of the site.

In this material, we will consider 9 master classes that answer the question of making a variety of children's swings with their own hands:

  • Stationary single from a bar;
  • Stationary doubles on a metal A-shaped frame;
  • Balancer from a car tire and a board;
  • Suspended for the house in the ceiling;
  • Hanging on a tree from a board;
  • Hanging on the crossbar for an apartment for children under 5 years old;
  • From fabric to wood or ceiling for children from six months;
  • In the form of a hammock with an already prepared mesh;
  • Figured swing.

How do children's swings differ from adults

First of all, before you start looking for workshops on creating children's swings for summer cottages and at home, you should remember that such designs should be different from those intended for adults. Main differences:

Therefore, we bring to your attention a variety of options, taking into account the maximum compliance of the swing with children's needs. At the same time, in our selection of master classes, we took into account the needs of children of different ages and can offer wide selection for every taste.

Types of swing for children

Exists a large number of variety of options swings for toddlers and older children, some of which can be easily made with minimal cost from improvised materials. Others may require specific tools and useful skills. Still others can rightfully be called real works of art.

Type of frame material

In general, there are a huge variety of design options made from exotic materials. For example - created entirely from ropes or rubber, fiberglass and other polymers.

However, it is not surprising that traditional options made of wood or metal almost always hold the palm. Also, one should not forget that individual structures may contain both wooden and metal elements to achieve best performance for all required parameters. We offer you to familiarize yourself with the comparative table of wooden and metal structures.

Relative availability and cheapness of the material;higher cost Supplies;
Ease of processing;The need for tools and skills to work with metal;
The need for special care and surface treatment;The need for anti-corrosion treatment;
Relatively weak wear resistance and durability;High strength and wear resistance of the structure;
Fire hazard.Absolute fire safety.

Wooden swings for children are a good choice, as they often require a minimum amount of investment to create. So, many different types of wooden swings, both for home and for the street, can be built simply from improvised materials that are available in almost every household or left after construction. In addition, wood is an extremely easy material to process, so making a wooden swing for children with your own hands will not require any special skills or complex tools.

However, the tree also has a number of disadvantages. For example, these include less resistance to negative environmental influences and the need to special processing. In addition, wood is flammable and less durable than metal structural elements of similar size.

The wear of wood is higher, which is a very significant factor in the manufacture of outdoor swings for children, since they are constantly subjected to stress.

Children's metal swings for summer cottages are distinguished by fair durability and high strength, however, making them yourself may require both the purchase of materials and the availability of specific tools and experience with them. Of course, there are the simplest structures that almost everyone can make, but the cost of their creation will also be higher than with inherently similar wooden counterparts.

Metal is, though more durable, but because of this, more hazardous material for children's use, because it has greater hardness and weight.

By type of attachment

Depending on what type of fastening will be used on a children's swing, their placement will depend, and directly all other design features, including manufacturing complexity and total cost.
There are a huge number of different mounting options, so we will consider only the main ways of fastening a children's swing in the house, on the street, as well as portable structures that can be placed where it is necessary and convenient.

Stationary children's country swings are often solid, massive structures, which in some situations can even be additionally strengthened by a columnar foundation, which provides them high level security.

Such designs also have corresponding disadvantages - constant exposure to the street requires appropriate treatment with anti-corrosion coatings, as well as high strength. But in general, a well-made stationary outdoor children's swing can last for several decades. In this case, the main structures can be:

  • Balancers;
  • Suspended A-shape(or any other);
  • Carousels;
  • On a spring.

Suspended for indoor and outdoor

Suspended children's garden swing - the simplest design, dating back centuries. Roughly speaking, a banal bar on a rope also has the right to life, although safety and comfort in this case leave much to be desired, especially when used by young children.

If necessary, they can be mounted both in the house and on the street, and some of the structures are easily disassembled and transferred to the right place with a minimum of effort and time. In total, two main materials are used for fastening: a chain and a rope. To what you can attach a hanging swing, see the photos below.

The seat for such a swing can be either open or have a back. The material can be either plastic or wood, metal or a combination of the above materials.

In general, hanging swings are the minimum that can be made in a matter of hours, giving the child an excellent way to spend leisure time.

Children's portable swings will be a convenient option for situations where the final look of the house or site will still change, and it is necessary to provide leisure. They have the advantages of both stationary street and home structures.

However, not every option can be executed in a mobile form. For example, mobile spring swings are almost impossible to make, since they require a strong and deep foundation. In general, the main advantages and disadvantages can be summarized in a small list:

  • Portable swings are mobile, which means they can be easily protected from bad weather and other negative environmental factors.
  • Many options are prefabricated, which simplifies their transportation and storage.
  • Mobile children's swings usually require a more complex design or smaller loads.
  • Wear resistance and service life are lower than those of stationary options.

In general, such option is suitable in many situations, as it greatly simplifies the solution of a wide variety of economic issues.

According to the age

As mentioned above, when building home-made children's swings or buying them, it is extremely important to take into account the age of the child's children. In general, the options on the market imply a basic division into three age categories, the features of each of which will be described below.

Toddler swings are almost always mobile or home swings, as children up to three years need increased parental control and a special approach to materials. In particular, most of these structures have an extremely small height, so that even an accidental fall or impact of a structural element cannot lead to injury to the child.

Self-made swings for babies under three years of age should be made either in the form of cradles, or have reliable fixing elements for the baby that he could not unfasten on his own, or be operated strictly under the supervision of adults without the possibility for the child to use the design in their absence.

A swing for children from three years old can also mean independent use their children. They can be made in almost any design options using a wide range of materials. However, they are subject to additional safety requirements and are reduced in size compared to adult swings to minimize any risk of injury to children.

If you want to make a swing for children from 3 years old, then you can also use drawings for full-fledged adult structures, simply reducing their overall dimensions by one and a half to two times.

Swings for teenagers may not differ from designs for adults, both in materials and in size. Here, special attention is paid not to the exterior and appearance, but directly to the features of the swing. The only limitation may be the standards of GOST R 52167-2012, which provides for the absence of rigid suspensions, dimensions and other standards.

Stationary single swing made of wood

A stationary children's swing made of wood is one of the most interesting options, the independent production of which will cost a minimum of time and money. There are a large number of different design options, each of which has its own advantages and disadvantages, but we will consider the construction of a U-shaped wooden swing for children with our own hands, as in the photo below.

Peculiarities

Children's U-shaped swings made of wood require a minimum consumption of material, but such a design will be stationary in any case. The installation of a stationary swing without the possibility of transferring them to a new place also acts as an additional guarantee of safety, because stationary models are highly durable and simply cannot physically tip over.

The following factors can be attributed to the features of the U-shaped street children's swing:

  • Simplicity and cheapness;
  • Exclusively stationary option;
  • High strength and reliability;
  • The absence of a large number of racks reduces the risk of injury;
  • U-shaped stationary children's swing for the garden has a wide potential for further completion of the playground on the site.
  • For a U-shaped swing, a foundation must be installed.

Do-it-yourself wooden U-shaped swing for children

  1. Prepare a flat area for the future swing.
  2. It is necessary to cut the beam so that it turns out 2 vertical posts 3000x150x150 each and 2 horizontal bars 1500x150x50 mm.
  3. A U-shaped structure should be assembled on the ground. For assembly use long screws 1 pc. on a horizontal stand on each side for fastening, as well as 3 pcs evenly for greater structural strength, as in the photo below.
  4. Cut off the corners of the uprights with a knife or planer and sand them sandpaper.
  5. The lower meter of the uprights should be treated with a protective coating against moisture. The best option will be coated with used engine oil.
  6. Holes for bolts are drilled on a vertical crossbar 30 cm from the middle, which are fixed on it with eye nuts, which should be directed downwards. Don't forget to use washers.
  7. It is necessary to dig a foundation under the racks with a depth of 1200 mm. A sand cushion is poured under the foundation for 200 m, and the racks are buried per meter into the dug holes. Next, pour concrete (you can use M400 cement to make it in the proportion: 1 cement x 3 sand x 5 crushed stone).
  8. Attach the carabiners to the eyebolts.
  9. Prepare a seat from a board measuring 250x600 mm. Drill at the corners of the board at a distance of 20 mm from the edges, one hole with a diameter for the rope, as shown in the photo below. Also nail two planks 250x50mm from the bottom of the board to strengthen the seat (do not forget to drill them under the rope as well).
  10. Pass the rope through a loop through the carabiner, the free ends of the rope through the holes in the seat. Secure under the seat with a knot. Subsequently, the height of the seat can be adjusted. Repeat the same procedure with the second carabiner.
  11. Treat the wood with a primer, varnish or paint of your choice.
    Such a design will have to withstand weight up to 200 kilograms, so you don’t have to worry about child safety.

Stationary metal swing for two

For a large family, a good solution would be to make a stationary children's swing made of metal with your own hands for two.

Peculiarities

Key features of children's metal swing:

  • almost any similar metal structures can easily withstand loads up to 300 kilograms;
  • Self-manufacturing will require the presence of a welding machine and the ability to work with it;
  • The need to purchase structural elements, since they are not always at hand;
  • Indicators of durability, reliability and wear resistance will be higher than that of similar models made of wood.

Do-it-yourself metal A-shaped swing for two children

A simple and affordable for everyone design of an outdoor metal swing for two children in a country house is the most optimal in terms of time, necessary skills and the total cost of consumables. If you do everything according to the scheme recommended by us, you will get an attraction as in the photo below.

The procedure for the independent manufacture of such an iron swing for children will be as follows:

  1. First, let's make a swing frame. Let's take two long pipes of 5000 mm in length and a cross section of 40 mm. Each of them must be bent with a pipe bender at an angle of approximately 30 degrees, as in the figure below.
  2. In the second stage, we need two tubes with a cross section of 25 mm and a length of 500 mm. We weld them to our curved tubes so that we get spacers. You need to do as in the picture below with each of the two supports.
  3. The final step in the construction of the frame will be the fastening of the two resulting halves vertical pipe section 40 mm and length 3000 mm. We use a welding machine. The result is as in the photo below.
  4. It is important to understand that such a swing will be stationary, since we will fix them with a columnar foundation. If you want to make a portable structure, then the bending angle of the support posts should not be 30 degrees, but 40. The spacers are not welded in the middle of the supports, but in their lower part so that isosceles triangle. However, we are making a stationary version, so we will prepare the foundation.
  5. We dig holes with a depth of 600 mm. Width approximately 100x100 mm. The location of the pits at the base of our swing frame. Take 4 square pieces of steel 80x80 mm for mortgages (steel thickness from 3 mm). At the bottom of the pits, tamp a sand cushion 100 mm. Next, insert the armatures so that their tops are just at ground level.
  6. Fill holes with concrete. Next, we weld mortgages to them. Mortgages must be welded when the concrete has set, but not yet completely hardened. Fix mortgages with anchor bolts for concrete, 4 pieces for each rack. Next, weld the base of the frame to the mortgages. The foundation and frame are ready. You can see the drawing of the foundation for a children's metal swing below.
  7. To fasten the seats to the horizontal bar, it is necessary to fix 4 loops with eyebolts, on which chains for the swing will be attached.
  8. To make a seat, take a board 600x200 mm. Drill 4 holes along the edges with a 15 mm offset of 5 mm diameter for fastenings for metal triangles (without a base), to which chains are attached in turn. Fix the triangles on the board with screws and a screwdriver into the holes that you did earlier. Do as in the picture below (only using the board).
  9. Do the operation twice to secure the two seats. Hang them at the right height, depending on the height of the child. As can be understood from the above procedure, such a construction requires minimum expenses and time costs.

Baby swing balancer

The design of balancers is perhaps one of the simplest and most ancient. Considering that such a swing can be used by at least two people, they will be an excellent option for sharing leisure time with the whole family with a child, or for several children.

The advantages of balancers in a sense are also their disadvantages. So, such a swing perfectly develops teamwork and encourages social interaction of children with each other, however, if a child is often left alone, such a design will be completely useless for him, unlike other options.

The variety of existing designs is extremely large. It can be both an elementary swing made of logs, and complex and beautifully decorated rides containing plastic and metal elements. In addition, some options can be reinforced with additional springs, which greatly enhances the pleasure of swinging.

You can learn more about the manufacture in a separate article on our website. The material contains 4 master classes. But still, we decided to consecrate one interesting version of the balancer in this article. How to make a children's swing from tires, read on.

Children's swing from tires

Old tires are an excellent material for making swings. After all, automotive rubber is both durable, soft and flexible. All this allows you to use it for the manufacture of a wide variety of home, street and garden tools, furniture, and, of course, children's swings. most popular and affordable option From tires at all times there was the simplest design, requiring only a point for hanging, a rope and the tire itself.

You can make such a swing out of tires on your own in just a few minutes. However, safety, as well as interest for children, will leave much to be desired. You can reduce the danger of tire swings by following a simple instruction:

  • Use only high strength static climbing rope;
  • Check tires for strength and do not use torn material;
  • The thickness of the branch must be at least 25 cm, and the distance from it to the tree pole must be at least one meter.

But apart from that the simplest design there are a number of much more interesting, safe and original swings made from old tires that will allow you to organize an interesting exterior on the site and give any child the opportunity to have fun.

Such designs have reduced wear resistance and not the most attractive appearance. Far from every exterior they will look appropriate and relevant.

Next, we will look at the process of creating a quick, convenient and simple do-it-yourself tire swing. It will be a horizontal balancer - a very attractive design, which is not so often installed by people in households. So, such a swing will be an excellent addition to other attractions described in this article and will allow you to create a real playground in your country house or in the courtyard of a private house with minimal cost and effort.

To create an implementation of your plan, you will need the following tools and materials:

  • Screwdriver and wrench;
  • Drill;
  • One tire;
  • Board 3000x150x40 mm;
  • Two bars measuring 700x50x50 mm;
  • Sandpaper;
  • Saw;
  • Construction knife;
  • Screwdriver bolts with round caps, washers;
  • Paintwork materials and inventory.

All of the above dimensions do not have to be perfectly accurate - this is the advantage of this swing, as it allows the use of almost any suitable material, including various old boards available in almost any household.

  1. First of all, you need to choose a suitable tire and prepare it. The ideal option would be old domestic summer tires, as they will be stiff enough to withstand constant long-term loads. High-quality foreign soft tires, especially winter ones, will be better used in a more profitable way.
  2. Preparing the swing tire will require you to cut it horizontally into two halves. Most of them are reinforced, so instead of construction knife metal shears or a hacksaw may be required. One of the halves will become the basis for the swing. The second half can be cut in half again and make additional shock absorbers at the ends of the swing from the finished quarters.
  3. Preparation of boards and bars. Since the board will be used by children, sharp corners should be sawn off and sanded to avoid possible injury during operation.
  4. Next, mark the middle of the board and mark the installation site for half the tire. AT extreme points it is necessary to mark the places for fastening the bars - it is to them in horizontal plane tire will be attached.
  5. Holes are drilled in the board with a drill and bars are attached to them using self-tapping screws, 5 fasteners for each bar (see diagram). After that, points for holes in the tire are marked, drilled, the tire is fixed strictly in the middle. In total, you will get 16 mounts.
  6. After that, you can proceed with the installation of shock absorbers from tire quarters - they should be installed on the edges of the board. Shock absorbers are also attached to bolts, the caps of which should be on the upper side of the main swing board.
  7. When all the elements are fixed, you can start painting and varnishing. It is recommended to treat the tire with silicone grease or simply rub it with glycerin. The swing itself can be processed in any way convenient for you. For example - with the help of wood stain and varnish for wood, or with the help of ordinary oil paint.

Hanging swing

There are a huge number of varieties of children's hanging swings for summer cottages and at home, which can differ both in materials and in location, method of attachment, type of seat, age of the child and many other parameters. However, the basic principle of their operation, regardless of the chosen design, is the same.

The key feature of the hanging swing as a whole is the presence, in fact, of the suspension, as well as the point of its fixation. Roughly speaking, the most primitive version of this type of swing, even without the use of a seat, is a banal rope suspended from any horizontal beam. However, often hinged swings for children still have seats.

For apartments and houses in the ceiling

Ceiling hanging swing for the home is not only excellent entertainment for the child, but also an opportunity to add variety to the interior. The main thing in this case is to properly build a suspension and choose a seat - we will focus on this.

The procedure will be as follows

One of the simplest and most ancient types of hinged swings are those on a tree from a board. They do not require complex manipulations or experience with different materials, not even the erection of racks. So, in order to make a swing on a tree from a board, you only need a board, a hole drilled in it, a rope and 5 minutes of free time.

Given the simplicity of such a design - the rope is thrown over a tree and tied with a loop, and then fixed in the holes of the board, everyone can do it with their own hands.

But you should remember a few features of installing a hanging swing on a tree, namely:

Do-it-yourself swing for the little ones

A cradle for babies is also a swing that has come to our time from the most ancient times. It is useful even for the youngest children to swing on a swing - this develops an eye, a vestibular apparatus, a sense of rhythm and space.

However, the approach to such structures should be completely special, since the safety of babies under the age of three is in the first place and imposes a number of extremely strict restrictions.

Features of such a swing

A key feature of swings for babies is the mechanisms that ensure their safety. In general, given the existence of many different types of swings for children under three years old, as well as the features and differences of even such tender ages, their main principle should be:

  • The impossibility of accidental or intentional loss of the child from the structure;
  • The inability of the baby to independently use the swing in the absence of adults;
  • Lack of small details, hard edges and corners;
  • At least four seat suspension points.

At the same time, you should not think that it is possible to ensure all such safety standards only by buying a swing for kids in a store. In general, if there is the right tool and minimal skills in handling it, you can make them yourself, including from a variety of improvised materials available in each household.

Varieties of swings for kids

In general, swings for kids can be outdoors, but home options are much more popular, as they allow you to always keep the child under control and provide him with a pleasant and useful pastime at home at any time of the year. A swing for children under three years old can be:

The materials used in the construction of swings for babies can be very diverse, but it is not recommended to use wood anywhere, with the exception of pillars and other purely structural elements.

Seats are best made of fabric or plastic.

On the crossbar in the house for children under 5 years old

This block is more designed for you to understand how to make a crossbar for hanging a children's swing in an apartment. However, we will consider the installation of the seat. If you can make the crossbar yourself, then all that remains is to choose one of the design options (or use ours).

The procedure will be as follows:

  1. Start making your home swing by assembling the seat. To do this, you will need 7 multi-colored tubes 300 mm long and two 300 mm mounts for them, as in the photo below. Insert the tubes into the slots. Thus, the square base for the seat will be ready. If you don't have these fasteners, use self-tapping screws to attach the tubes to each other.
  2. The second step is to install 4 vertical tubes on the sides of the swing, and already on top of them we put 4 more tubes in a square. By the same principle, we will install another tube for the back. In the end, you should get as in the photo.
  3. We do not additionally fasten the resulting structure with anything, since we will continue to use a rope. We pass the rope through the holes made in advance (as in the photo). As a result, you get a one-piece structure that can be hung. These recommendations are more suitable for assembling a purchased collapsible swing, however, you can use the advice in this article as a whole to do it yourself.
  4. The next step will be the direct installation of the crossbar for such a swing in an apartment or house. As a crossbar, you can use an ordinary piece of a round pipe with a cross section of not more than 30 mm. The length of the pipe depends on the distance between the walls in the place where you decide to install it. We recommend using narrow corridors or doorways.
  5. The pipe is attached to the walls with the help of two metal mortgages for the walls (it can also be called steel sheets 80x200mm with a thickness of 2-3mm). In mortgages, as well as in the wall, two holes with a diameter of 5 mm are drilled on each side and anchors are driven into them. And the pipe itself is directly inserted into a piece of a round tube with a diameter of 35 mm, which was previously welded to steel sheets.
  6. Next, you need to hang a children's home swing on the crossbar. This is done with the help of special fasteners, on which a rope from the seat is planted.
  7. You can wrap all the structural elements with densely stuffed bright patches of fabric and secure them to the swing with twine. Also put a cushion on the seat. The swing on the crossbar for the house is ready.

This crossbar will come in handy in the future - you can pull yourself up on it and also hang other swings when the child grows up.

The benefits of using tubes for seating will be most relevant for parents of the youngest children. plastic pipes are an ideal material for structures intended for babies, because their weight and hardness are much lower than that of wood, and, moreover, metal. As a result, even an accidental impact with such a seat with full amplitude will not be able to harm the health of the baby.

From fabric for children from six months

These simple hanging outdoor swing will be an ideal option for relaxing on the site or in the country with a baby. You can make them in less than an hour, and if you have all the necessary materials prepared, the collection will take even less time.

From materials and tools you will need:

  • Two pieces of natural fabric 800 mm long;
  • Four wooden slats 300 mm long and 25 mm in cross section;
  • Sewing accessories;
  • Drill;
  • Rope for hanging;
  • Sandpaper;
  • Fasteners (anchor, carabiner).

The procedure for making a swing from fabrics for children with your own hands from scratch will be as follows:

1. Carefully sand the wooden slats with sandpaper until any corners, bumps and splinters disappear and drill holes in the rivers along the edges with a rope diameter;
2. Lay the cuts crosswise. At the same time, the width of the lower part of the cross should be half that of the upper one.
3. Sew the cuts so that they form a flap with loops and thread the prepared slats into them.
4. Pass the rope through the holes in the slats and tie. The height of the suspension will be controlled using nodes.
5. You can hang the swing from a tree or crossbar using such a ring. It is put on a pre-prepared carabiner, which, in turn, is attached to the anchor. How to do this, we have already described earlier in the article.
6. This design is ready for us - you can give your baby the joy and pleasure of outdoor recreation.

Children's swing from improvised materials

Our people have always been famous for their craftsmanship. The lack of cash did not drive our ancestors into despondency, but on the contrary, it spurred them to find non-standard solutions and use whatever materials are available. Even the proverb is dedicated to this: "The need for inventions is cunning." And such ingenuity can be used in almost any business - for example, it was in Russia that they came up with many interesting options for how to make a children's swing from improvised materials with their own hands.

What can be used for such a swing

For various types of swings, you can use almost any unnecessary materials left in the household. First of all, this applies to ropes and boards - in the simplest cases, even such a set will be enough to mount a comfortable and simple children's swing from improvised materials. But with the proper level of ingenuity, anything can be used:

  • plastic pipes;
  • Metal constructions;
  • chains;
  • twine;
  • fabrics;
  • plastic items;
  • Tires.

Making a wicker hanging swing from improvised materials with your own hands is very simple. It is not even necessary to have a ready-made network or uniform threads. A hammock woven from a wide variety of shreds will look much more original. Of course, such an approach will require a long and thoughtful weaving of the network and the formation of the necessary pieces. Therefore, the construction of a hammock swing from improvised materials will be further considered, provided that the network is already ready (it is better to entrust the weaving to women, or even buy a ready-made one).

Modern children are quite difficult to surprise with the usual simple joys of life. They want to see something new and bright, and for many children, a simple swing has long been an object of dreams. What can be figured swing

Almost any swing can be figured - both suspended and balance beams or spring rocking chairs - it all depends, first of all, on the skill of their creator, the breadth of his imagination and available funds, tools and materials.

Some craftsmen create real masterpieces from car tires, while others carve works of art from wood, and still others simply order ready-made curly forged elements for a swing or other decor, trying to please your children.

Most in a simple way to create a figured swing, there will be cutting out of wood of any interesting objects - primarily cars, animals, planes, locomotives, etc. Vehicle. One of the easiest options is a spring swing. In most cases, they are always performed in figured form. Most simple option there will be the creation of a spring swing in the form of a car or a whale, but in general the technology of creation will not be fundamentally different with almost any possible decorative figures.

About baby swing seats

The seat for a children's swing is one of the main elements, since the safety of the child directly depends on its design.

The most common and convenient material in all respects is wood - it does not have such a high mass as metal seats, which means it will do less harm if the swing is accidentally hit, if any.

In addition, often the seats can be combined. For example - metal carcass with wooden crossbars on which the child will sit. In general, it is not recommended to make entirely metal seats without ventilation for children's swings, since such seats will be absolutely unsuitable for use in the cold season and, in general, will not be so comfortable for the baby.

For home swings, and even more so for small children, it is recommended to make seats made of wood and sheathe soft materials. Such seats are as safe as possible in operation, and also very bright.

For small children, swing seats made of PVC pipes can also be perfect. They can easily support the weight of a child up to five years old, while being the safest of all materials.

There are also full-fledged ready-made plastic swing seats that can be bought at various stores. Often, the purchase of such seats can be a good addition to the swings already assembled by yourself.

There is simply no unambiguous answer to the question “what to make a seat for a children's swing from”. Each of the existing options has its own advantages and disadvantages.

How to use the swing correctly

Proper operation of a children's swing is a guarantee of the safety of both the children directly riding and the people around them. Swings are a relatively dangerous attraction, as children can experience light overloads, sharp jerks and high speed on them. But proper operation will avoid any troubles and possible negative consequences.

In general, the general informal rules of operation are as follows:

  • Do not leave children under three years old unattended;
  • Children should be taught not to be in the "working area" of the swing;
  • Sick and unwell children, including those in a state of nervous stress, sadness, or vice versa - overexcitation, should not ride;
  • It is necessary to swing on a swing only in the direction that is set by their design;
  • The attraction must be checked regularly for structural defects, signs of wear and damage.

Painting a children's swing

The question of how to paint a children's swing is far from always worrying parents and relatives. But ignoring it is a serious mistake. First of all, painting is necessary due to the fact that modern paints are high-quality and reliable protective coatings that protect metal from corrosion, and wood from excessive wetting, rotting or destruction by various insects.

However, the main problem of unpainted children's swings lies in the field of psychology. It is physically necessary for children to provide color variety in everyday life, so bright colors will be an excellent incentive for any kid to develop exactly the way his parents would like. Also, the painted swing will simply by itself be much better to attract children and, as a result, to occupy their leisure time, freeing up at least a drop of much-needed free time for parents.

In general, painting a children's swing should be based on the characteristics of each specific situation. In case you do not want to spoil the coating near the attractions, it is necessary to ensure its isolation - a plastic film will do just fine with it. In addition, painting imposes its additional restrictions - the paint used must not contain toxins that are prohibited or dangerous to children's health.

To achieve a bright, flashy glossy finish with rich color alkyd paints can be used.

Child safety rules

First of all, it should be noted that the designs of swings installed in public places must necessarily comply with the strict established state requirements for swings GOST R 52167-2012. So, one of the main generally accepted safety standards is the absence of rigid suspensions. Moreover, it was for this reason that a large number of Soviet playgrounds were dismantled.

In general, the safety factors are very diverse. Thus, security may depend on:

  • The presence of sharp corners and hard edges;
  • The quality and type of coverage around the swing;
  • care and maintenance;
  • General wear and tear;
  • specific type;
  • Ways to ride.

In general, for the children themselves, the rules for the safety of behavior are extremely simple - you should use the attractions only as provided for by their design, you should not lose your vigilance and generally be in the working area of the swing, regardless of whether someone rides them or not .

A few last words

Not every person has the necessary skills, enough time or effort, and, moreover, individual tools to take and at one point make a swing for themselves and their children. Therefore, in some cases it may be more convenient, faster, easier and more profitable to simply buy ready-made structures.

However, a swing made by yourself is much more pleasant to use. Yes, and the time spent on making them, you can spend with your children. We are sure that the child will definitely thank you and will smile sincerely!
