Assemble your wardrobe. Self-assembly cabinet. There are three main varieties

Hello again. Today we will assemble our wardrobe, we will do this according to the instructions below.

So, we took the parts from the cut. We ourselves did not want to glue the edge, so we ordered gluing in the same place, especially since the price of gluing is not so big.

We also bought all the necessary fittings for the cabinet and the necessary fasteners.

The floor turned out to be not quite even, so the cabinet had to be made not on the plinth, but on adjustable legs, respectively, the detailing was also slightly redone.

The introductory part is over, let's start assembling.

Instructions for assembling the wardrobe

The procedure for assembling the wardrobe will be as follows.

You need to start assembling from the bottom of the cabinet, namely from assembling the base and installing the legs.

We take the part, which is called the bottom, and mark its underside for the installation of the base and legs as shown in the diagram below:

The plinth can be fixed to the bottom with the help of mini fixes (eccentrics, rastex - whoever calls it), confirmations or ordinary plastic corners.

Since this will still be an invisible zone, and the cabinet will not stand on the plinth, but on legs, I decided to fix the plinth with plastic corners. I fixed the legs with screws 3.5 * 30.

Only when you screw the legs - do not overdo it (you can twist it, and the sharp part of the screw will come out from the back).

We fasten the four parts of the base to each other with the help of confirmations. For convenience, take yourself an angled clamp. You can use .

Do not twist the corners of the front plinth, as you have to remove it to adjust the legs.

We will fasten the sides to the bottom and roof with minifixes. They are great for fastening perpendicular parts, and they also manage to completely hide the fastener.

If space permits, it is convenient to assemble the sliding wardrobe lying on the front and fasten it with the help of confirmations. But since I didn't have a room free space, I had to assemble it while standing, and use eccentrics (rastexes, minifixes) as fasteners.

On the bottom and on the top of the cabinet (with inside) mark the holes for installing the minifix rod.

Before installing the sidewalls, using a level, the bottom of the wardrobe must be leveled as evenly as possible. Just lean on the level and adjust the legs to the maximum horizontal position.

Now you need to mark the sidewalls, the holes must exactly match the installed rods on the bottom and roof. In the sidewalls, you will need to do two different drillings in two different planes.

The first hole is made under the metal eccentric, which will tighten the stem, it is made in the inner side of the sidewall, with a special cutter 15mm, at a distance from the end edge to the center of 34mm (this is if the stem has a total length of 44mm, like mine).

In general, when landing a part on a rod, its head should look out by 6 mm. If you are installing minifixes for the first time, practice better on rough parts, so you will feel more confident when assembling.

The second hole is made at the end of the part, with a 6-6.5 mm drill, strictly in the center (8 mm from the edge).

For a more detailed understanding this step assembly, you can use our materials on .

  • When you have made all the necessary holes, do not rush to immediately install the sidewalls and the roof.
  • To give the structure initial rigidity, immediately assemble the central partition with the upper shelf (we fix it with confirmations).
  • At the next stage, we need to put the sidewalls, the back wall of the console and the assembled T-shaped partition on the lower rods, tighten with eccentrics, and fix the upper shelf to the sidewalls (confirmations). Use an angle clamp for support.
  • Next, we fix the roof, and check the verticality with the help of a level.
  • If everything is fine, to ensure additional rigidity, we install additional shelves with the help of confirmations.
  • Now, with 3.5 * 16 screws we fasten the back wall of the fiberboard. We start with two upper corners, and after perfect alignment, we begin to screw in the screws throughout the box, in increments of 15-20mm. You should also fix the fiberboard to the central partition and the top shelf.

The hardest part of the job is over. We put the cabinet in its place, once again check the position of the cabinet in terms of level and proceed with the installation of shelves, hangers and drawers.

Shelves can be made both rigid (secured with confirmations) and removable (on shelf holders).

In order to have fewer hole plugs on the visible side of the closet, I decided to install the shelves on the shelf supports.

Everything is simple here. On the sidewall we mark desired height, with a 4.5-5 mm drill we do NOT through hole, up to a depth of 8mm and hammer in the shelf holder.

To assemble any cabinet (ready-made serial, custom-made or built-in), there are two options: order assembly when buying a cabinet or assemble the cabinet yourself. The built-in closet fits into the size of the room, so it is quite difficult to assemble it. In this case, it is worth contacting a professional assembler so that the cabinet is assembled without defects, which means it lasts a long time. To assemble separately standing cabinet enough of your strength. Cabinet furniture is usually assembled without any problems, besides, finished furniture is always supplied with detailed instructions with a description of the number of parts and assembly order.

Before you start assembling, check that you have the necessary tools. The main ones are a screwdriver, a hammer and a hex wrench. You may also need laser level to check the evenness of the floor, a square to check right angles and a tape measure. After unpacking the boxes with cabinet parts, check their conformity with the design and the number of fittings. You should also make sure that there are no chips, scratches or other defects on the panels. Pay attention to the instructions: in order to properly assemble the wardrobe, the diagram must be correct. Compliance with the instructions and the wardrobe model is checked by a short designation based on the number of doors and the type of filling. For example, ShK-2.1 is a 2-door wardrobe with filling option No. 1.

How to assemble a closet mechanism

The finished serial wardrobe is assembled in next order:

1. A separate plinth is mounted - immediately with the cabinet floor. After assembly, the plinth should be put aside far: it will be needed during further assembly.

2. The frame of the case is assembled, which consists of side towers, a ceiling and a floor (with a plinth). It is best to assemble the frame on the floor if the cabinet is small.

3. The cabinet body is installed in a vertical position. Rods for shelf holders-flippers are attached to the side walls and partitions of the cabinet, and then the shelves are installed.

4. Using a tape measure, the equality of the cabinet diagonals is checked - this way you can determine that there are no distortions.

5. The cabinet is again placed on the floor, after which it is fixed back wall and the cabinet is in place.

6. Rod holders are attached to the side walls and partitions, then the rods are fixed.

7. If the filling of the closet consists not only of rods and shelves, modules with drawers are assembled: first, the base and cover of the module and guides in the cabinet body are installed, then the drawers themselves are assembled and placed in the cabinet.

How to assemble a wardrobe more than 3 meters wide

A 2-door wardrobe is easier to assemble than a 3-door one: a wardrobe that is too wide is difficult to move during assembly and constantly move from a horizontal position to a vertical one. Wide cabinets in most cases are made built-in, which are assembled by a professional assembler. For Assembly wide wardrobe to order, it is also better to call an assembler: in fact, to assemble a wardrobe, the price is not high and mainly depends on the complexity of the design.

But if you ordered a free-standing wide cabinet and want to assemble it yourself, follow a few rules when assembling:

A wide cabinet is assembled in the same order as a regular-width cabinet;

To avoid damage to the panels, it is better to assemble a wide cabinet in an upright position;

It is necessary to check the absence of distortions more often.

How to assemble sliding doors for a wardrobe

After assembling the cabinet body, it remains only to install the system sliding doors: guides and the doors themselves. First, the guides are attached: upper and lower, and it must be ensured that there is no discrepancy between them and distortions, otherwise the doors will get stuck or at least creak.

The number of doors does not affect the assembly method. Instructions on how to assemble a 2-door and 3-door wardrobe are the same for the door system:

1. For the far door, the top edge of the door is inserted into the far upper track, and the rollers are installed into the far lower track.

2. To install the near door, the same process is repeated.

3. Using a hex wrench, the doors are adjusted so that they do not warp.

4. It is checked whether the doors move smoothly.

After that, you can put things in a new closet. Assembling the cabinet with your own hands or calling an assembler - this issue should be resolved when buying a cabinet in order to agree in advance with the assembler at a convenient time for you.

Today, anyone can make a sliding wardrobe with their own hands, ordering everything the right materials in specialized companies. This piece of furniture is one of the most popular, as it has a number of advantages. If you also want to install this convenient storage for various things in your apartment, you need to read this article to the end, and you will learn how to assemble a sliding wardrobe yourself.

Advantages and disadvantages of homemade furniture

Buy or order ready cabinet much easier than putting it together with your own hands, but in fact there is nothing complicated about it. Self assembly according to the drawings has a number of advantages, such as:

  1. Save up to 10% Money, which you would give to specialists for assembly.
  2. When assembling furniture with your own hands, it will fully meet your requirements.
  3. No strangers will be allowed into the house.
  4. You can assemble the furniture at a time that is convenient for you, and not for the assemblers.
  5. In the eyes of friends and relatives, your authority as a jack of all trades will increase.

When self-assembling a wardrobe according to drawings or photos, do not forget that this work also has some disadvantages, namely:

  1. There is no way to avoid the unexpected costs that come with buying materials that you might mistakenly ruin. You will also need a set of special tools.
  2. The lack of an assistant who will help you when necessary (hold the shelf, feed the screw).
  3. Do-it-yourself assembly takes time, which will take you many times more than an experienced specialist.

If all of the above difficulties do not scare you away, and you are determined, let's take a closer look at how to assemble a sliding wardrobe yourself?

Site selection and sizing

Decide where you will install the future cabinet, and take measurements. To do this, you will need some set of accessories:

  • roulette;
  • paper;
  • plumb;
  • pencil.

First you need to measure the distance between the two walls where the cabinet will be installed. Measurements should be taken from below and from above, for greater accuracy. You should also determine the distance from the floor to the ceiling on the left and right, finding out the height of the furniture. This must be done on both sides, since the walls are not always quite even. It is necessary to approximately determine the depth of the cabinet. On paper, draw a rectangle and write down the dimensions of the future furniture. Exact dimensions will be required later.

wardrobe sketch

Visit several furniture stores, taking with you a sheet with measurements. Look at different models cabinets and decide which one you want to make with your own hands. You can also see photos on our website. You can find out from sellers in stores the specifics of the materials used, fittings and components. If there is not enough time for this, invite a designer home. For a fee, you will be consulted on materials and a sketch of future furniture will be created.

Detail drawing

To create a detailed drawing, you will need a school drawing skill or some kind of computer program for furniture design. Not everyone owns the necessary software, so you can always choose the first option.

On a sheet of A3 paper, you should make a drawing of the future cabinet, clearly drawing all the details and indicating their dimensions. At the same time, please note that about 1 cm should be indented from the walls, and at least 3 cm from the ceiling and at least 10 cm from the floor. This is required so that the assembled cabinet fits into the provided niche. It is necessary to retreat from the floor so that the cabinet stands on special legs with height adjustment. After applying all the shelves and drawers to the paper, all the details should be distributed in a table, indicating all sizes.

Manufacturing of cabinet elements

Having on hand detailed drawing future furniture, contact the company, whose specialists will cut out the details you need from chipboard, mirror or glass for you. You can also purchase all the spare parts, accessories and materials that you may need.

From additional materials to assemble a wardrobe with your own hands according to a photo or drawing, you will need the following:

  • confirmations, called euroscrews;
  • drill for euroscrews;
  • universal countersunk head screw 2.5x12 mm;
  • adjustable legs;
  • furniture corners for shelves;
  • door opening system.

AT recent times popularity has increased for the top hanging system of doors, but it is better to choose the familiar aluminum mechanism that has become traditional.

Cabinet assembly

Of all the fittings and details that you receive, you will need to make a sliding wardrobe from the photo with your own hands. It is unlikely that everything will be done in a day, since the process is quite laborious. For assembly, you will need the following set of tools:

  • building level;
  • roulette;
  • pencil;
  • screwdriver

Bottom installation

The assembly always starts with the installation of the bottom. On the lower part facing the floor, you need to install the legs in two rows of 3 pieces. They should be securely fastened with screws. The middle row of legs must be placed along the axis of movement of the door panels. Turn the structure over and slide it into the prepared niche where you plan to install the cabinet. With help building level and legs with the possibility of adjustment align the structure in horizontal plane. After that, the base should be pulled out for subsequent assembly.

Side wall fastening

The side walls should be attached to the ceiling of the cabinet with the help of confirmations. There should be a design U-shaped, which must be placed on a previously prepared base, and secured from below with confirmations. It is necessary to assemble the cabinet in the position in which it will stand in your niche.

Rear installation

Need to take back cabinet future wardrobe and attach it to general design screws. To increase the rigidity of the frame, you can fix several shelves with euro screws, and nail the back wall to them. The resulting frame can be carefully inserted into the niche.

Shelves

Using store-bought corners, secure the shelves. To do this, you need to attach the corners and install cut-out shelves on them, as well as install drawers of a retractable design.

Hanging doors

Sliding doors must be installed at the very end. It is necessary to align the outer edge of the aluminum rails and attach them from below and above to the base of the furniture. One by one you need to insert the doors: first start upper part into the top guide, and then place the lower roller on the bottom guide.

So, your closet should now be completely ready, and you just have to fill it with useful things.

Housing furnishing - final step, which unites all repair and design stages. AT modern furniture several important qualities must be combined: operational functionality, appearance as such, compliance with the overall design idea.

Coupe systems or their elements are present in almost every home. The convenience and functionality of this furniture are indisputable, and for such design styles, like minimalism, urban, hi-tech and completely irreplaceable. The article provides comprehensive recommendations for the independent manufacture of a sliding wardrobe.

Advantages

Having considered the pros and cons of this class of furniture, we will get a complete picture of modern concept closet with compartment door opening system.

Advantages
Ergonomics Standard designs require blind areas for opening. In coupe systems, doors move in the same plane along the guides when opening and closing. Significantly saves floor space.
capacity The ability to arbitrarily configure the internal space (filling), which determines the spaciousness. The only requirement is ergonomic expediency.
Versatility Fits into any interior. Various ways decorations and finishes allow you to install the wardrobe in the bedroom, kitchen, living room, etc.
Functionality Inside, unlike conventional cabinets, you can store dimensional items, household appliances. Embed various devices- ironing board, workbench, countertop, etc.
Ideal solution for narrow spaces For narrow aisles and corridors, a closet is often the only solution. Only it can be put in such places and comfortably operated.
Zoning Dual functionality. Using such furniture, you can easily zone the room, that is, it can also perform the function of a partition.
Variety of designs No restrictions for internal filling. A large number of materials for the manufacture of facades, which allows you to realize any design idea.
Using a mirror A mirror can be installed on the facade. This will improve the functionality of the room and visually expand the space.
Operational reliability Doors that move along rails will last much longer than those that open on hinges.

The disadvantages are much less, but they are:

Flaws
Failure sliding system Occurs only in the case of the acquisition of a low-quality sliding system.
The need for additional lighting If the dimensions are large, additional light will be required, it significantly increases operational comfort.
The need to clean the guides Over time, the lower guides become clogged, which can become an obstacle to the movement of the roller. Therefore, sometimes you have to clean the grooves of the guides.
Mirror gets dirty quickly If a mirror is used in the decoration, then it will often have to be washed from stains and traces of hands.
No swap option When designing, the dimensions are related to the specific location of the cabinet. Not suitable for fans of frequent permutations.

Varieties in form

There are several varieties, they have structural and external differences:

  • built-in;
  • stand-alone;
  • corner;
  • diagonal corners.

Let's consider each of them separately.

built-in

When constructing such a cabinet, there is no top, back wall and base. Partitions are made only. The entire structure is screwed directly to the ceiling, walls and floor. Metal corners are used as fixation.

This is a stationary structure, and it is an invariable part of the created interior.

Standing separately

Has sidewalls, top, bottom, back and sliding doors. This is a complete piece of furniture. It can be moved, it is not attached to any design elements.

Angular

Great solution for small apartments where every meter is precious. Repeats the shape of the corner and allows you to rationally use the space of the room.

diagonal corner

This is a kind of corner, but the facade does not repeat the shape of the corner, but is made diagonal. The increased capacity of this design determines its frequent use as a dressing room.

Material used

Furniture with a sliding door system is made from a variety of materials. The table shows the main ones:

Material

The most common and frequently used. chipboard, having a low price, is characterized by sufficient strength. A huge selection of textures, colors, patterns allows you to make a front part for any design solutions. There is one, but significant, drawback - it is difficult to fine-tune. For this reason, mostly simple structures are made from chipboard or chipboard.

Eco-friendly material, easy to process. The variety of facade coatings is no less than that of chipboard. Practical and affordable material.

Expensive option but natural wood will last a long time. A great decoration for any interior.

Types by design

Classification by design differences is as follows:

  1. embedded;
  2. case.

Embedded . There is no need for top, bottom and side parts. Their function is performed by the walls, floor and ceiling of the niche. For the manufacture, you can use drywall, which will reduce total costs on the product.

Cabinet . The main difference from a conventional cabinet is the method of opening the doors. If necessary, you can move. Transportation (moving) without disassembly is possible. Minus - increased consumption of materials, as side, lower and upper walls, the back are made.

Now let's take a closer look at the organization of the internal volume of the cabinet.

Design features

When designing, ergonomic and operational specifics should be taken into account.

Consider the main structural elements sliding wardrobe.

Door width

The choice of door size depends on factors:

  • manufacturers of sliding systems are limited to certain sizes. Some systems allow you to make a sash up to 120 cm wide;
  • the width is affected by the number of internal sections. Each section must have Free access;
  • choice is influenced by personal preference. There are no special rules, unless it goes beyond the restrictions listed above.

The optimal width, worked out in practice, is from 600 to 900 mm. This size provides the most comfortable conditions use.

Sliding systems

Sliding systems are classified according to two main criteria:

  1. profile material;
  2. extension principle.

For the manufacture of the profile of the movable system, aluminum or steel is used. The material of the sliding system is chosen, as a rule, the same as that used for the door frame. Steel structures cheaper, but in most cases aluminum is preferred.

Structurally, two types of systems are produced - bottom-support and top-hung. In the lower support - the door with rollers moves along the rail. In top-hung - its rollers move along the upper guides.

Height

The height is chosen arbitrary. The only limitation may be the ceilings or the small stature of the owners of the apartment / house. Designs are made both from ceiling to floor, and smaller heights.

The standard length of the material used for the walls is 270 cm. A standard apartment has a ceiling height of 260–270 cm. Almost the same dimensions allow you not to saw or build up structural elements.

For ceilings above 270mm (if you want a floor-to-ceiling cabinet), there are two solutions. First, the sheets of material are joined to the required length. The second - the mezzanine is going. Sheets can be joined on high-precision equipment of companies specializing in such services.

Shelf depth

The depth of the shelves determines the daily usability of the cabinet. The optimal and recommended figure is 60–70 cm. Usually a hanger bar is placed in the closet, the width of which is about 48 cm. A depth of 60 cm will completely eliminate the contact of the inner surface of the door and the clothes hung on the hangers. Most furniture accessories (boxes, trays, etc.) are 50 cm wide. Shelves should not be made deeper, since it will be inconvenient to get "under the wall" when placing things.

Not always the dimensions of the premises allow you to install furniture with the maximum recommended depth of the shelves. But there are limitations on the minimum depth. The best option maybe a depth of 40 cm. Considering that 10 cm goes under the sliding door mechanism, you can purchase small hangers 30 cm wide. Alternatively, mounting a hanging rod (rods) perpendicular to the doors and the back wall, in this case, the width of the placed hangers is not limited .

Such a solution is much better than completely refusing to install a cabinet, especially since even such a "narrow" design for small apartments is the perfect solution.

Length

When designing, the length of the cabinet is selected in accordance with the place of its further installation.

Height of shelves and rods

The height between the shelves is 250–350 mm. The selection rule is simple: the more depth of the shelves - the greater the distance between them, less depth- the distance is less. This dependence is associated with the convenience of access to the stacks of linen located in the depth of the shelf (near the back wall).

When designing a mezzanine, you should take into account the dimensions of things that are supposed to be stored on it. If these are suitcases, then the height of the mezzanine should be equal to the height of the suitcase, plus a small margin.

The mounting height of the hanger bar is determined by the length of the clothes placed on it. The maximum height will be equal to the longest thing. Average length of typical wardrobe items:

  • shirts - up to 100 cm;
  • jackets - up to 110 cm;
  • long clothes - up to 130 cm;
  • raincoats and fur coats - up to 150 cm.

These calculations are approximate, since the length of clothing depends on height, style and other parameters.

Schemes and drawings

The diagrams show various options furniture assembly projects and technologies:

Device inside

When designing the filling of a closet, first of all, zoning is done inner space. The figure shows a universal scheme for dividing various things into storage zones:

When buying a finished product, you will have to agree with the filling configuration proposed by the manufacturer. Self-manufacturing will allow you to take into account the dimensions, functionality, location of various zones and much more, which, ultimately, will provide maximum operational comfort.

Below is a table with examples of frequently used elements of internal filling and zoning of a sliding wardrobe with their help.

Zoning

Shelves are one of the main elements of filling. They can be fixed and retractable, solid and ventilated, half and full depth, etc.

Drawers - the second most important element of the cabinet.

Hanging bar - necessary for clothes on hangers. The material of manufacture is different, most often metal.

Convenient storage baskets. All things are clearly visible in them, which creates a certain convenience.

This device is called - bruchnik. Pants are always ironed and ready to wear.

Rod (hanger) for storing ties - it is convenient to choose, do not wrinkle, the correct suspension prevents shape change.

Convenient placement of belts, as an alternative - storage on a shelf in rolls.

Compact and convenient storage underwear.

Placement of bed linen, towels, some clothes in piles on shelves.

For storing blouses, light blazers, short sundresses, a significant part of the internal volume is allocated. A pipe with hangers is installed in the opening. You can make several of these departments - for short and long things.

Section for accessories - bracelets, watches, glasses, etc. It is recommended to store these items in drawers. Inside the space can be divided into separate cells.

Shelves for storing shoes. In the upper (mezzanine) part, you can place shoes in boxes.

Hooks, hangers, carabiners, rings and other accessories for bags.
Hiking suitcases Rarely used (once a year during the holidays) suitcases place on the far (upper) shelves or mezzanine.

One of the options for bed linen. Shelf width up to 80 cm, height - up to 60 cm.

Characteristics of the main filling elements:

  • sliding and fixed shelves. For convenient use, the distance between them is from 350 to 450 mm;
  • drawers. Two types - fully retractable (100%), partially retractable (80%). Can be equipped with closers that provide smooth semi-automatic closing of the drawer;
  • mezzanines, known as hard-to-reach shelves. Located at the top. They store rarely used and overall things;
  • bars are needed for hangers. Mounted across the width of the cabinet;
  • pantographs or special "furniture lifts". Thanks to them, clothes are stored on required level and is easily pulled out with a special bar. They are electrical or mechanical;
  • baskets are convenient for storing small items. Equipped with rollers and guides.

facades

Thought out to the smallest detail internal filling will be sharply dissonant with poorly chosen facades. It is the facades that give the whole cabinet a special finished look. Consider several options for their implementation.

Mirrored

The mirror visually enlarges the space and makes the room brighter. It can be whole or divided into several parts. The large weight of the mirror determines the need to select high-quality and reliable rollers. Such a facade creates additional maintenance chores - the mirror quickly gets dirty. It will have to be wiped and washed regularly, especially if there are small children in the family.

For façade mirrors various finishes- sandblasting patterns and drawings, coating of various shades (silver, emerald, gold, etc.) for glass, printing color images and much more. For safety reasons, the mirror is covered with an anti-shock (armored) film from the inside. If the mirror breaks, the pieces will not scatter.

glass

Glass is no less popular than a mirror, facades are equipped with unbreakable. Mostly used frosted glass with a pattern. Vertical, horizontal stripes look original, dividing the canvas into separate squares.

MDF and chipboard

These materials are laminated with film. The facades look massive and heavy. To install them, you will need reliable roller systems. One of the advantages is huge selection colors, shades and patterns, according to the texture - from matte to bright glossy.

On MDF and chipboard facades, you can apply photo printing.

These are the main types of facades used in the manufacture of sliding wardrobes. You can combine them with each other. This article contains photographs with a considerable number of original ideas for the production of facades.

Step by step instructions for making

Adhesive edge tape

After cutting all the elements, the edge tape is glued to the ends of the plate. The sequence of operations performed:

Instructions for gluing the edge to the end of the blanks

If there is no assistant, you can use a simple trick. You will need a small box and a quick clamp. The clamp presses the board to the box, ensuring the stability of the workpiece and the convenience of gluing the edge tape.

One side of the edge tape has an adhesive surface. Heating to a high temperature, it is easy to stick to the workpiece.

Cut the edge to the desired length. Leave a margin of 1 cm around the edges. You can cut off after gluing with ordinary scissors.

For sticking position temperature sensor set the iron to "2".

For your safety, wear left hand two gloves. There should be no pellets on the palm.

Run the iron along the edge tape, and hold it with your left hand (leveling).

We carry out the iron in the opposite direction, at the same time with a hand in a glove we firmly press (smooth out) the edge tape.

Hand smooth the edge a few more times.

The use of a special roller. Glue the edge tape with an iron and then roll it with a roller. Very comfortably.

cold tape, sharp knife carefully cut off the remains from the end.

We get such a cut.

We repeat the procedure for all ends of the workpiece. We measure the tape with a margin of 1 centimeter, from each edge.

Glue with an iron and smooth.

We cut off the cooled edge. The edge has already been glued on the adjacent edge, we make the cut very carefully.

From all sides we cut off the longitudinal remnants of the protruding edge.

Result. We glue the ends of the remaining blanks with an edge tape.

All cuts are ground with a special bar. Inner part it is filled with foam rubber, outside - fine-grained abrasive.

Grinding of slices is done only with longitudinal movements.

Processing of the main elements is carried out in a similar way.

Assembly

Details are cut according to the project. This operation is best done in the workshop on a special format machine. After cutting and gluing the edges, we assemble the cabinet:

Frame Assembly Instructions

To work, you need to collect additional device, consisting of a metal strip and two pieces of board connected at an angle. It turns out a corner with a metal guide. You will also need two quick clamps. With this device it is very convenient to connect workpieces at right angles.

We make a check with a square - it should be 90˚.

Set aside 70 mm from the top edge.

In the example, a 16 mm plate is used, therefore, 9 mm must be retreated from the edge. Why not 8 mm? Because the plate protrudes 1 mm beyond the edge, forming a small ledge. The middle of the end of the adjoining plate is at a distance of 9 mm.

Drill mark.

A similar mark is placed below.

Using a drill, we make holes for fasteners.

A special drill replaces three at once. It allows you to make the main hole, corbel and chamfer in one operation.

drilling.

We twist the confirmation with a screwdriver.

Having fixed the sidewall, according to the project, we mark the places for installing the shelves.

Next, using a square, put marks on both sides under the holes for attaching the shelves.

Marks on which holes for confirmations will be drilled.

The device assembled at the beginning of work is convenient to use for fastening shelves. We measure with a tape measure 1/2 the thickness of the plate. The thickness of the plate is 16 mm, so we retreat 8 mm from the mark.

At this level, we install the shelf using quick-clamp clamps.

It is clearly seen here that the mark is in the middle of the end face of the workpiece. Everything is ready for drilling.

Drilling.

We twist the confirmations.

Install the remaining shelves in the same way.

Install the crossbar. And we fasten each shelf with confirmations.

Having fixed the cross member with a quick-clamp clamp, we twist it with confirmations from above and below, then we fix each shelf.

This is how the lower part of the closet is assembled. We clamp the strip from the plate with a clamp and fix it from the end with a confirmation.

We drill shallow holes from below for installing furniture legs.

We twist the metal sleeve with external and internal threads.

Using a hexagon, tighten (retract) to the desired position.

We twist the leg into the sleeve with plastic support. Thanks to this, the furniture can be moved and leveled.

Two parts of the support leg assembly.

After assembling the cabinet, a fiberboard sheet is attached to its back side with ordinary carnations.

Fastening fiberboard start from the top. By tilting the cabinet from side to side, we achieve a 90˚ angle between the sidewall and the top bar. We nail the side and bottom side fiberboard sheet.

When assembling, such plastic furniture corners were not used. Why? The use of confirmat is much more practical, since it is screwed into the slab by several centimeters and securely connects the structure, giving it additional rigidity.

We close the hats of confirmations with a decorative cap.

In the same operating sequence, you can assemble a sliding wardrobe of any configuration.

Door manufacturing

The door consists of a frame, metal guides and a system of rollers. It is worth ordering it from a company professionally dealing with such systems. Specialized software according to the given dimensions, it will calculate all the elements and issue a complete specification for the assembly. Mirrors or slabs of other materials are cut to the size of the doors for mounting in frames.

Elements for sliding system

Vertical bars/handles for the side parts of the door.

Sealing rubber for a mirror.

Self-adhesive brush to soften the impact of doors when they are opened / closed.

Staples for fixing doors in extreme positions.

The main parts for assembling the doors are made of aluminium. All metal components must be covered with a protective film that protects them from scratches during transportation.

Door Assembly Instructions

The door is located in a horizontal position and provides free access from all sides.

At the top vertical rack, simultaneously serving as a door handle, we drill two mounting holes.

The lower one is 6.5 mm in diameter.

Top hole - 10 mm. Through it, the upper profile of the doors and the roller will be attached.

The lower part of the same vertical profile. Top hole - 10 mm, bottom - 6.5 mm. Distance from the edge of the first hole - 7 mm, the second - 43 mm. Closer to the edge, the lower roller will be attached. The second hole is for the screw connecting to the profile.
Profile mounting From above we fix the rubber seal with a profile, gently inserting it.

The procedure is performed sequentially on all faces. Rubber compressor we do not cut off at the corner, but continuously lay around the entire perimeter.

Should not be screwed all the way

This screw is not fully tightened. Later, the upper rollers will be installed in it.

Install the upper rollers and tighten the screw until it stops.

Rubber seal installed at the bottom of the door.
The screw with the top roller is also twisted In the upper part we fix the second pair of rollers.

Install the bottom roller. We press the spring on the roller and carefully insert it into the hole, fix it with a screw.

The screw is tightened with a hexagon. Wardrobe with the first door installed.

In the same sequence, we assemble and mount the second door.

Additionally, we install auxiliary elements - a pipe for hangers, etc.

Every apartment must have one multifunctional item furniture like wardrobes. It will save space in your home and organize the space. Not everyone can afford to buy it due to various circumstances. This is not a reason to refuse such a thing. A jack of all trades, it will not be difficult to make and assemble it yourself.

Of course, some knowledge is required. There is nothing complicated here, as it seems at first glance. In addition, what joy and pride you will experience from the work done. After all, furniture assemblers charge a fairly high fee, and you can handle it on your own.

After the decision to buy a closet has been made, it becomes necessary to correctly assemble it.

To assemble the purchased furniture, you need to follow the cabinet assembly instructions supplied by the manufacturer. There are certain rules. Following them, you will assemble any item of high quality and in a short time.

  • You should not take everything out of the packages at once, especially mix parts from different packs. Follow the sequence.
  • Read the instructions carefully so that later there are no overlays and you do not have to redo it again.
  • Make sure the hardware and component in place. Otherwise, you will not be able to fully assemble the furniture. Handles must match the color scheme. It is necessary that the guides for drawers have a soft stroke.
  • Assemble one section at a time. You need to start from the bottom, gradually moving to the sides.
  • Open the package, lay out the parts, prepare the tools.
  • Mirrors, glasses are installed at the final stage. This is how you avoid damage.

For assembly, you need a screwdriver, screwdriver, hex key, tape measure.

If you yourself are engaged in manufacturing, then it will be much easier to assemble.

It is very important to follow the assembly sequence, otherwise you will be forced to disassemble and reassemble the cabinet in the correct sequence.

How to work with laminated chipboard - a popular material for cabinet furniture

Currently, in the manufacture of furniture, chipboard is mainly used. This is the fundamental. Represents wood shavings of large dispersion. By hot pressing, it is shaped into a sheet. In the manufacture of plates, formaldehyde resins are used, they are an additional component. Difference from simple chipboard consists in covering with a film made of paper and melamine resin. According to environmental indicators, it is better to use class E1 materials. Chipboard boards have good compaction, thanks to which the furniture made from them is strong, has long term services.

Fastening the rail on the cabinet door

If you think that this material has the same composition, then you are mistaken. By coating they are divided into veneered, rough and laminated. According to the composition of quality, they can be divided into three grades: the first - they use first-class sawdust (usually a tree of the same species). The surface is flawless, not a single chip. The plate is decorated, laminated with a film or veneer. The second grade - you can already see small defects. Facing may or may not be. Third - there are already tangible defects. Such plates are not covered by anything.

While the cabinet is not completely assembled, make sure that the attached parts do not tilt, as the fasteners can be broken out.

In addition, chipboard is moisture resistant and fireproof (withstand high temperatures). They are mainly used to make a furniture body, but they are also used in the production of partitions or used as interior decoration. It is worth mentioning that chipboard, due to its composition, perfectly holds nails and self-tapping screws.

In order to stiffen the closet, it is necessary to fix the back wall.

The main “steps” for assembling do-it-yourself wardrobes are indicated in the instructions.

Furniture from these plates has many advantages compared to other materials.

  • Acceptable prices.
  • No manufacturing difficulties.
  • Q factor.
  • Significant period of use.
  • Diversity colors and decorations. This will help to perfectly match the furniture in the living room, kitchen or children's room.
  • Perfectly harmonizes with other materials.

Such furniture looks great in any interior.

Another important chipboard feature- these plates have heat and sound insulation. Therefore, they can sheathe the walls of the room.

Make sure that the holes for the shelves and the hanger rod mounts match the holes on the opposite rack.

Also, if you started a redevelopment of an apartment / house, knowing how to assemble a wardrobe yourself will help you quickly and easily solve the issue of moving this furniture.

What tools are needed

Significant costs in the acquisition of the tool will not be required. To collect kitchen set, closet or hallway, you need to have the usual set of tools: a screwdriver, a hex key for confirmation, a screwdriver, various drills, a bit for confirmation, an awl, a pencil, a tape measure, a square, fine-grained sandpaper, electric drill, stationery knife, iron, joint knife, rubber mallet, retainer for details.

The distance between opposite corners should be the same.

Assembling a wardrobe with your own hands is quite easy and everyone can do it simply by using the instructions.

It is unrealistic to guess what tool you will need to assemble furniture. It depends on whether the project is difficult or not.

Now you need to install the wardrobe doors.

To open the closet, you do not need to remove chairs or move other furniture.

Preparation before assembly

First you need to prepare the room. The final outcome of the case depends on this, how much time you spend on work. Important point- so that nothing interferes. Make sure all materials and necessary tools are at hand.

As a depth limiter, you can use a plastic dowel 6 or 8 mounted on a drill.

With the help of a sliding wardrobe, you visually separate different areas in the room, for example, a work area from a recreation area.

Assembling furniture at first glance seems a simple matter. Many people make mistakes, as a result of which defects appear: the doors and sashes are weakly adjacent, when the doors are opened, they can creak, due to misalignment of the holes, the parts are skewed, the furniture is unreliable on the floor. To avoid this, you must follow certain rules and instructions.

Built-in wardrobes are very popular in interior design. various models made from natural and artificial materials.

Some models of the closet are able to transform to the features of the room: the presence of a corridor, recesses in the wall, where you can put the closet.

Basic assembly steps

The assembly of the wardrobe is carried out strictly according to the scheme, vertically or horizontally. The second option is better, so you can prevent skew of the parts to be joined. If the height of the ceilings does not allow you to raise the finished cabinet, then work is best done in an upright position.

You will be able to assemble a wardrobe of the "compartment" type with your own hands if you follow the step-by-step instructions.

In such a closet, you can put twice as many clothes, while not at the expense of the enormity of the furniture itself.

First of all, you need to attach the base and adjustable legs to the bottom. They are necessary if the floor is uneven. Next, we proceed to the assembly of the case. We connect the sides to the base. To make the structure strong, we attach an intermediate rack and a shelf. This is necessary so that the sidewalls do not roll. After we fasten the remaining parts, attach the cover. It is advisable not to nail the back wall, but to screw it onto self-tapping screws. At this stage, we put the cabinet in its place. We install guides for drawers, holders for shelves, a bar for hangers. Check that the drawers should slide out smoothly.

You need to familiarize yourself with all the details of the product (so as not to confuse anything during the assembly process and not have to start all over again), prepare the tools and the place where the assembly and installation will take place.

This job will take a lot of your time.

Next up is the installation of the doors. First we fix the guides, then we fix the rail on the screws. We insert the doors, check that they open and close smoothly. Correct them if necessary. Lastly, we glue the sealing brushes. We attach plugs to the holes of the confirmations.

As a rule, sliding wardrobes, like all furniture, are assembled in the lying position of the cabinet.

Do not skew cabinet parts, keep even corners.

Summing up, we can say that the assembly of the wardrobe is not the same hard work. Your desire, skill and ability will make it easy.

After you have done everything, be sure to check how the doors work (whether they creak, move freely, etc.), how shelves and other details are firmly fixed.

Be careful until the cabinet body is assembled and the back wall is installed, all fasteners can be easily broken out.
