Publication date 26.01.2015

In this article, we will consider the technology for cleaning a double-circuit wall-mounted gas boiler Sime Format.zip 5c with a closed combustion chamber and two heat exchangers (primary and hot water).

The boiler is cleaned in the following order:

Switch off the boiler with the main switch and close gas cock;

Remove the front panel of the boiler and manifold gas burner;

To clean the burner, direct a stream of air inward so as to remove all accumulated debris and dust;

Clean the heat exchanger, removing dust and residues of combustion products from it;

When cleaning the burner or heat exchanger, do not use chemical substances and iron items.

Make sure that the upper perforated part of the burner is free of scale.

Assemble the previously removed parts of the boiler, observing the conformity of all elements.

Check the functioning of the main burner;

After completing the assembly of all gas connections, check them for leaks using soapy water or products specially designed for this. DO NOT USE AN OPEN FIRE FOR THIS!

Don't handle plastic parts boiler with calcium chloride.

Function "chimney sweep".

To start the combustion process diagnostics, turn the knob of the multi-position main switch and stop it in the "flame" position, wait until the two-color green/orange control lamp starts flashing. From this moment on, the boiler will start heating at maximum power with switching off at 80ºС and with a new inclusion at 70ºС. Before turning on the chimney sweep function. Make sure the radiator valves or possible zone valves are open. You can carry out a similar check from the DHW mode. To do this, after activating the chimney sweep function, it is enough to take a sample hot water from one or more taps. Even under these conditions, the boiler operates at maximum power at the set 80ºС and 70ºС ON THE PRIMARY CIRCUIT. During the test, the hot water taps must be open.

After completing the control of the combustion process, turn off the boiler by setting the multi-position switch to the position you require.

Attention: the chimney sweep function is switched off automatically after 15 minutes or when hot water preparation is completed.

Cleaning the primary hot water filter.

To clean the filter, close the "supply" and "return" shut-off valves of the heating system. Turn off the power on the control panel, remove the front panel of the boiler and drain the water from the boiler using the drain cock.

Place a container for the remaining water under the filter, unscrew the filter cap and remove the filter mesh. Remove dirt and lime deposits from it. Check the rubber gasket before putting the filter back in place.

If there is dirt on the fins of the primary heat exchanger, completely cover the burner rail with a sheet of paper or newspaper and clean it with a bristle brush.

Expansion tank pressurization test:

Drain the heating circuit according to the instructions and check that the expansion tank pressure is at least 1 bar.

If the pressure is lower, an appropriate pressure build-up must be ensured.

Cleaning the hot water heat exchanger:

The need to remove scale from the heat exchanger of the hot water system must be assessed by an authorized service center, who, if necessary, will clean it using specially designed products.

Burner cleaning:

The inclined multi-gas burner does not require special maintenance, it is enough to clean it of dust with a bristle brush.

The decision on the need for special maintenance of this component should be made by an authorized service center.

Smoke control device

The boiler is equipped with a device for controlling the removal of fumes (exhaust gases).

In the event that smoke is removed into the room (due to blockage or malfunction of the chimney), this device turns off the gas supply to the boiler, interrupting its operation.

Frequent operation of the device indicates a malfunction of the smoke extraction system (chimney or chimney). In such a case, a qualified person must take appropriate measures.

In case of a confirmed malfunction of the device, it can only be replaced with a similar device of the original production.

Checking the efficiency of a wall-mounted boiler Electrolux Quantum

It is necessary to control the efficiency with the frequency provided by the current legislation:

Start the boiler in heating mode at maximum power.

Check the combustion process in the boiler using the taps located on the chimneys and compare the measured data with the table.

The test can also be carried out if the boiler is operating at maximum power in hot water mode, which must be indicated in the test report.

OPERATION AND REPAIR OF BOILERS

Wall-mounted gas boilers are famous for their power from 14 to 32 kilowatts, gas consumption (0.1 m3 of gas is required to form 1 kW / hour of thermal energy), and extraordinary reliability. But even for them, when three years of intensive operation pass, they need to be replaced, and for failure to carry out preventive work.

How to maintain a heating boiler

First of all, you need to examine the condition of the heat exchanger, which tends to be covered with a generous layer of scale from the inside, and soot from the outside.

First of all, let's examine the condition of the heat exchanger, which is covered with a generous layer of scale from the inside, and soot from the outside.
Scale is removed in the following way - we buy special mixtures to combat scale, dilute it correctly in water with the desired ratio, pour the resulting mixture into heating and let the boiler run in the "chimney sweep" mode, or turn on the boiler for hot water.
Desirable this species operations should be carried out late in the evening, so that the next morning, when the coolant has cooled down, drained and replaced with a new one. When cleaning the heat exchanger, the gas consumption of the wall-mounted gas boiler will decrease by 10%!

– open the boiler body, lay newspaper down, and using a special brush with hard bristles, carefully remove soot from the outer walls.

In wall gas boilers with closed burner. use in their design a switching power supply, from which it works circulation pump, modulating fan and boiler safety group including control board.

How to protect yourself from constant power surges

But rarely does a wall-mounted gas boiler work without an electrical breakdown, since in the Moscow region there are sudden voltage drops in the household network. And one sharp drop, like a capricious switching power supply (PSU), which does not have a rectifying transformer, fails.

To prevent this, it is reasonable to buy sources uninterruptible power supply(IBP), which are specially produced by the global industry for wall-mounted gas boilers. If you buy an inexpensive passive PSU, then the output will be an exceptionally pure sine wave, which is so “loved” by pulsed PSUs.

Not a small appointment of I.B.P. during a short power outage, inverter unit will allow the gas boiler to work for some time from battery in offline. And as soon as the energy in the I.B.P battery runs out, the gas boiler will automatically stop working due to safety reasons. (You can read about it here)

But the prevention of the boiler will not be complete if you do not pay attention to pipes and heating radiators. In order for the heating to be reliable and have the necessary thermal conductivity, it is reasonable to replace steel heating pipes with pipes made of cross-linked polyethylene, metal-plastic or PVC

For indoor heating, it is preferable to use aluminum or bimetal radiators heating, which are initially distinguished by a small water capacity and a low level of thermal inertia.

The tips that are in this article are best followed by masters who are practicing in service centers.

- Secondary heat exchanger.
- Copper hydraulic components of the DHW circuit.
- DHW flow sensor.
- Expansion tank built behind the combustion chamber.

Models of gas boilers Ariston Uno 24 Mffi, 24 Mi. Hot water preparation mode: control logic - Command to turn on the hot water preparation mode: the flow sensor detects the beginning of water flow, which allows the circulation pump to turn on. 3-way valve: hot water preparation corresponds to standby; this means that the stepper motor moves the damper, thereby opening the water outlet line from the secondary heat exchanger and connecting it to the pump suction cavity, directing the flow to the main heat exchanger, only if the system switches from heating mode to hot water preparation mode. Flow sensor operation: The flow sensor detects
pressure cold water at the inlet to the boiler, and allows you to start the circulation pump. Operation of the circulation pump: after starting, the circulation pump supplies water from the secondary to the main heat exchanger.

Checking the performance of the sensors (Probabilistic test): The Ariston Uno 24 boiler control board conducts a test based on data from the NTC (1) and NTC (2) temperature sensors, checking that the temperature difference of the sensors does not exceed 5C. Fan operation ( closed chamber): The control board energizes the fan and monitors the efficiency of exhaust gas removal by means of a differential pressure sensor. Traction control (open chamber): The control board activates the traction control system through a mechanical temperature sensor. If the sensor is disconnected, broken or the overheating mechanism is triggered (no exhaust gases are removed), the boiler will shut down in an emergency; emergency shutdown in this mode lasts 12 minutes, the boiler can be restarted by turning it off / on.

Ignition of the burner: the gas valve is activated and releases gas in the amount necessary for smooth ignition, the ignition device generates a high voltage current supplied to the electrode. As a result, a spark jumps between the electrode and the burner body. Flame control: This control is carried out by an electrode that detects the presence of an ionization current. Monitoring the presence and circulation of water in the heating main: the control board performs this control by measuring 3 different meanings temperature using two NTC (1) and NTC (2) sensors for 12 seconds. The main heat exchanger of the Ariston Uno 24 Mffi / Mi boiler: heats the water that is supplied by the circulation pump from the secondary heat exchanger.

Hydraulic group: directs the flow of water from the main heat exchanger to the secondary; thus blocking the movement of water in the heating circuit, directing it to the DHW circuit sanitary water. Secondary heat exchanger: receives cold water from the multifunctional hydraulic group, heats it up and transfers it to the consumer for use. Flame modulation: flame modulation takes place between the maximum hot water output (preset on the gas valve) and the minimum output (preset on the gas valve); the burner remains on until the temperature reaches 61C
(scale start temperature) and turns off.

Overheating temperature control: overheating control is carried out by checking two sensors NTC1 and NTC2, superheat temperature 105 ±1 C. If either of the two sensors indicates a temperature of 105 ±1 C, the boiler stops and the following indication lights up on the control panel: only the green signal flashes. Scale prevention: in hot water mode, the burner turns off when the temperature on the sensor at the inlet to the main NTC heat exchanger (2) reaches - 65C (safe temperature for scaling in hot water mode is above 52C) or - 61C (safe temperature for scaling in DHW mode below 52C).

If a hot water command is given in heating or post-circulation mode, the burner does not turn off within 3 seconds after receiving a signal from the flow sensor, even if the NTC sensor (2) detects the scale formation temperature. Also, the shutdown mode based on the temperature of scale formation is not activated at the time of checking the presence and circulation of water in the main circuit (within 12 seconds). The 3-way valve actuator is not activated because it is in the DHW position in standby mode. The hot water temperature is controlled by an NTC sensor (2) at the inlet to the main heat exchanger. The microprocessor of the control board controls the temperature of the water in the main circuit, therefore, the control of the temperature of the hot water occurs indirectly.

Control of the presence and circulation of water in the main circuit - The installation of the Ariston Uno 24 boiler does not provide for the installation of a flow sensor of the main circuit and a maximum pressure switch: the function of monitoring the presence and circulation of water determines the presence of water in the main circuit and the efficiency of the circulation pump. Each time the boiler is switched on, 3 temperature deltas (dT) are checked sequentially for 12 seconds based on the values of two sensors NTC (1) and NTC (2) at the inlet and outlet of the main heat exchanger: dT must increase by at least 2C in 12 seconds, dT must not exceed 50C in 12 seconds, the rate of increase in dT must not exceed 10C per second.

If at least one of these conditions is not met, the boiler stops and the pump turns off after 40 seconds. Switching off in this mode is characterized by the simultaneous activation of two indicators: red (blocking); yellow (lack of water / blocked circulation / overheating). To restart it is necessary to set the O / I switch to position R: after five unsuccessful attempts to start the boiler is completely blocked and the start will be possible only after disconnecting the boiler from the power supply.

Operating functions of the boiler Ariston Uno

Chimney sweep function - To activate this function, it is necessary to turn the “on / off / restart” knob to the “restart” position and hold it in this position for 10 seconds. At the same time, the boiler switches to the maximum power mode according to the calibration of the gas valve and the yellow indicator starts flashing. The ignition of the burner occurs as follows: in the "WINTER" mode: the burner ignites immediately and the boiler starts to work in the central heating, in the "SUMMER" mode: the burner ignites only if the hot water tap is opened. In both modes, the burner turns off when the NTC probe (1) reaches 88C. The chimney sweep function can be disabled in two ways: Manually by pressing the on/off switch, Automatically by 5 minutes after switching on. In the "chimney sweep" mode, the following boiler functions do not work: clock / room thermostat, heating and hot water temperature control.

"Comfort" function - The control board of the Ariston Uno 24 boiler allows you to provide the "comfort" function, which guarantees hot water immediately when you open the parsing tap. The control panel has a corresponding button for enabling this function and an indicator light (1st from the left in the row of indicators). When the “comfort” button is pressed, the boiler goes into standby mode and when the first user opens the hot water tap, the burner turns on and the boiler starts to work in DHW mode. After closing the parsing valve, the burner, periodically turning on, continues to maintain the temperature in the DHW heat exchanger - 42C: T on = 42C - 6C = 36C, Toff = 42C. This continues for 60 minutes between
by the last closing-opening of the parsing valve, then in order to save gas, the boiler again goes into standby mode. By pressing the "comfort" button again, the boiler returns to its original state - the "comfort" function is turned off. Temperature sensors - This boiler is equipped with negative temperature characteristic (NTC) contact temperature sensors installed on the supply and return lines to the main heat exchanger.

Elements and details

Circulation pump - The pump impeller is inserted into the multifunctional group. The air vent is also built into the multifunctional group. Device: air vent port, hydraulic group, washer, pump. Pump protection: the circulation pump is controlled by a relay and two NTC sensors of the main circuit and turns off 40 seconds after the activation of the Ariston Uno 24 boiler shutdown mode in the absence or insufficient water circulation in the system.

Anti-blocking function: The pump is switched on for 20 seconds every 21 hours after the last stop of the boiler. The 3-way valve remains in DHW mode. Circulation pump continues to run set time after the burner has been switched off the following cases: Contact opening T.A./OR - 2 minutes. Transfer of the switch from the "WINTER" mode to the "SUMMER" mode - 2 minutes. When the switch-off temperature is reached (4°C above the set value) - Until the end of the TA/OR command. Shutdown due to insufficient circulation or lack of water in the system - 40 seconds. Shutdown due to ignition failure or system overheating (1) - 2 minutes. Termination of selection of hot water - 30 seconds. Turning off the burner after heating the system in anti-freeze mode - 2 minutes.

Main heat exchanger - Made of copper and coated with a special silicone anti-corrosion compound. The heat exchanger has two elements on two levels. It serves to transfer heat from combustion products to water circulating in the heating system and the secondary heat exchanger. Device: built-in NTC temperature probes, hot water inlet port, cold water inlet port.

Electronic control board - The control boards of the UNO-MCU and UNOCOM / AR models are designed as complete electronic systems designed to control the safety and comfort systems of wall-mounted boilers of the Ariston Uno model. The control board has a built-in microprocessor that controls the various functions of the boiler and acts as an interface for remote control, data transmission and
thermoregulation based on indoor and outdoor temperature sensors. It is connected by wires to the sensors and actuators of the boiler to perform safety and control functions; all adjustments and user settings are stored in the memory of the PU.

All indicators of the control panel and adjustment potentiometers are built into the board. The control panel is made in the style trademark"Ariston". Power is supplied to the board through the connector panel and exits the control panel to the actuators ( high voltage~230 V), protected by two fuses for ~230 V (phase and zero). The connector panel also has two additional contacts not protected by fuses (phase and zero) 230 V at the output to the modem. A transformer protected by varistors generates a low voltage current to control the logic functions of the boiler and power additional consumers, such as a timer, CLIMATE MANAGER, a modem for remote support access.

By setting jumpers on the board, the following functions of the Ariston Uno 24 Mffi / Mi boiler can be adjusted:

CN102 - Remote access / spark power setting - Incl. Off / Restart / Heating.
CN101 - Ignition delay - 0 - Ignition delay: 2 min.
CN104 - Heating temperature potentiometer: 38-44.
CN100 - Setting the maximum heating power and soft ignition - DHW mode / heating mode.

Indication table for the control panel of boilers Ariston Uno

Boiler off - None of the indicators are on. Turn on moment - All indicators light up at the same time and go out after about 1 second. Standby - The green LED flashes slowly to indicate that power is being supplied to the control board. Power setting - The red indicator flashes constantly - jumper 1-4 is in the boiler setting mode. Remote Access Mode - The yellow LED flashes slowly to indicate that remote access mode is activated. The fan is running and the gas pressure switch is in the off position) - If the pressure switch contacts do not close after 20 seconds after the fan is started, or if the fan does not start when the start command is given, and the pressure switch contacts remain closed for more than 3 seconds.

Stop after 5 unsuccessful restart attempts within 15 seconds. - Shutdown due to exceeding the number of restart attempts; The instrument must be unplugged from the mains and plugged back in. Chimney sweep mode - The boiler operates in the "chimney sweep" mode. "Comfort" mode - The device operates in "comfort" mode.

Ariston BS

Models of wall-mounted gas boilers Ariston BS II: 24 FF, 15 FF, 24 CF

Heating mode - The request for heating is activated by: room thermostat, room thermostat with timer - programmer. The temperature detected by the NTC 1 supply sensor is shown on the display. When the Ariston BS 24 ff boiler is in the standby state, the 3-way valve is in the "DHW" position. When the boiler is turned on in the "heating" mode, the drive three-way valve power is applied (actuator stem retracts). The 3-way valve closes the outlet from the secondary heat exchanger and opens the coolant return line from the heating system. The pump is switched on 7 seconds after the request for heating in the "heating" mode, to allow the three-way valve to switch to the "heating" position; the circulation pump takes the coolant from the heating system and supplies it to the main heat exchanger.

The fan is switched on (boilers with a closed combustion chamber). If the contacts of the pneumatic relay are closed, then the transition to the next phase of the ignition cycle takes place. If the pneumatic relay contacts do not close, after 20 seconds from the moment the fan is turned on, the device stops (the yellow LED on the control panel lights up), but the fan continues to work, waiting for the pneumatic relay contacts to close (boilers with a closed combustion chamber). In models with an open combustion chamber, a smoke exhaust control thermostat is used (t is monitored continuously). If this device works (contacts are open), the boiler is blocked with a code (the yellow LED on the control panel lights up). Supplying power to
the ignition device and the gas valve occur after the contacts of the pneumatic relay are closed. Gas supply: the burner is supplied with gas in the amount set for the soft ignition (start flame) (adjustable with the knob DHW temperature when switching the boiler to the setting mode). The presence of a flame is controlled by an ionization electrode.

If ignition does not occur (max. 8 sec.): Ariston BS II 24, 15 FF: repeats the ignition procedure 3 times with soft ignition, if no flame is detected after 3 attempts, the boiler is blocked. Ariston BS II 24 CF: blocked (only one ignition attempt). The control is carried out by the temperature sensors of the coolant at the supply and return to the apparatus. The temperature difference between supply and return (T supply-return) and the rate of change of these temperatures are checked. After registering the presence of a flame on the burner, the boiler modulates the heat output depending on the heat load. Modulation takes place between the maximum heat output for heating and the minimum heat output of the appliance
(adjustable on the gas valve). Superheat control is carried out continuously (even when the burner is off) by an overheat protection thermostat (102±4C) with automatic restart. The thermostat is located on the coolant supply pipe. After the thermostat is activated, the burner goes out, but no indication is displayed; if the thermostat does not restart within 5 seconds, the boiler will be blocked (the red LEDs for overheating and blocking on the control panel will light up). Reactivation of the overheating thermostat 87C.

Ariston BS boiler components

3-way valve - The boiler uses a 3-way valve to change the distribution of water flows (heating system or DHW heat exchanger). Control is carried out using the main board through a special relay. Housing made of new composite material, new electric motor. With the help of a new three-way valve, we reduce the hydraulic losses in the "Heating" mode, and thus increase the residual head of the pump. The lower part of the new engine is white. New shaft housing - “10”, marking on the front. It is allowed to use a new motor with an old shaft. It is not allowed to use an old motor with a new shaft. If the boiler is in standby mode, the 3-way valve is in DHW mode.

DHW plate heat exchanger - The DHW plate heat exchanger is mounted on the right and left hydraulic blocks at the rear with 2 bolts. Steel plates - profiled, reinforced.

Pump - Features: Single speed circulation pump: ASKOLL pump type 3NK / 40 -9A – C 230 V 50 HZ, Condenser 1.4 F I (A) = 0.19 / P(W) = 40, Integrated automatic air vent, Removal screw air from the pump

Pump post circulation

Switching off the contact thermostat - 3 min.
- Heat transfer in standby mode - 2 min.
- Burner shutdown (Setting + 4C) - No stop
- The device is switched off due to a "water circulation" failure - 1 min.
- The appliance does not work because the flame is not detected - 2 min.
- Overheating - 2 min.
- End of the "combustion analysis" mode - 2 min.
- Regulators - Non-stop
- Operation in 62C or 65C mode - Non-stop
- Disabling the "anti-freeze" function - 2 min.

Automatic bypass - The Ariston BS 24 ff boiler is equipped with an automatic bypass (bypass valve) that allows you to protect the primary heat exchanger from insufficient circulation in the heating system. The flow is regulated automatically through a valve and a spring that opens depending on the tension of the spring. Bypass provides minimum flow in the main heat exchanger 350 l/h. The bypass is located behind the main relief valve.

Main heat exchanger - The main heat exchanger is made of copper and coated with a high temperature resistant aluminum and silicone compound. The function of the main heat exchanger is the transfer of heat from the combustion products to the coolant that enters the heating circuit or plate heat exchanger if DHW mode is activated. Mounted in a section at the top of the combustion chamber.

DHW flow sensor - The DHW flow sensor combines turbine, filter and casing. In DHW mode, when the flow rate is more than 1.6 l / min., the turbine sends a signal to the electronic board through a reed switch, a signal to turn on the burner. The filter protects the turbine and the DHW plate heat exchanger from impurities and foreign particles coming from the water. The filter is checked during the first ignition of the boiler, during operation and maintenance.

Temperature sensors - To control the temperature in the Ariston BS 24 FF, 15 FF, 24 CF boiler, 2 NTC overhead sensors are used. One is located at the outlet of the heat exchanger (NTC 1), the second is located at the inlet to the heat exchanger (NTC 2). In heating mode, the NTC 1 sensor regulates the output of the gas burner. In DHW mode, the NTC 2 sensor regulates the output of the gas burner. In all cases, constant monitoring of the flow of the coolant is carried out by 2 sensors (via T).

gas valve CARTIER - The CARTIER gas valve uses stepper motor technology. According to the request from the electronic board, a signal is given to the stepper drive (motor) of the gas valve to supply more or less gas to the burner. Safe device placed at the gas valve inlet to ensure proper functioning. The following diagram shows the operation of a step gas valve: Demand in heating or DHW mode. The safety device is activated at 24 V DC. Step-by-step gas valve modulator soft ignition stage. Move the step modulator of the gas valve according to the request (PWM signal comes from the board). The gas valve can operate on natural gas and liquefied gas. In case of changing the type of fuel, it is enough to change the nozzles (the setting of the maximum gas pressure is adjusted in accordance with the indicators in the table). Max. gas valve pressure 60 mb. The ignition unit is located on the gas pipe.

Checking max. burner gas pressure:

To check the gas pressure, loosen screw “1” and connect a pressure gauge to the outlet gas pressure measurement port.
- Turn on the water intake to the maximum or the “chimney sweep” function to the maximum power - press the reset button and hold it for 5 seconds, turn the DHW knob to max. value, indicator light yellow color flashes, indicator light 80 is on.
- The pressure must correspond to the value in the “gas settings” table, taking into account the type of gas used for the boiler. If the pressure does not match, tighten or loosen the adjusting screw.

- The chimney sweep function switches off automatically after 10 minutes. or after pressing the Reset button.

Adjustment of the maximum heat output and smooth ignition:

Check/adjust max. thermal power and/or soft ignition, loosen the screw and connect a pressure gauge to the inlet gas pressure measurement port.
- Press the ON/OFF button and hold it for 10 seconds; as soon as the red indicator light begins to flash slowly, you can proceed to the next adjustment.
- To adjust the max. heat output turn the heating knob. To adjust the soft ignition, turn the DHW knob.
- Settings are stored in memory automatically. If one of the two knobs is not adjustable, the boiler will remember the previously set value. To exit the function, press the ON/OFF button or wait 1 min.
- At the end of the test, tighten the screw and check its tightness in situ.

Work on liquefied gas

To modify the Ariston BS II boiler with natural gas liquefied, you must perform the following operations:

Turn off the power supply to the boiler and turn off the gas supply valve.
- Remove the gas manifold.
- Change the nozzles and attach the sticker according to the instructions in the kit.
- Turn on the device.

Carry out the adjustment according to the table (gas):

Check and adjust the maximum power
- check the minimum power
- adjust the maximum heating power
- check and adjust slow ignition
- adjust the ignition delay time during heating

The Ariston BS boiler is protected from malfunctions through internal checks performed by the self-diagnosis system. The electronic board stops the boiler if necessary. There are three types of faults: Emergency lock: To turn on the device, press the “Reset” button again. The blockage is related to “overheating” and “no flame on ignition”. Emergency stop: The boiler is in standby mode during the error. After the cause of the error disappears, the device turns on without additional actions. Information messages: do not affect the operation of the device.

Wall-mounted boiler Ariston Egis

Boiler models Ariston Egis 24 FF, 24 CF

Features and Components

Pneumatic relay control - Turning on the pneumatic relay allows you to go to the next stage. If this does not happen after 20 seconds, the boiler will go into emergency stop mode 6P1 with a delay in turning off the fan (models with a closed chamber). In models with an open chamber, the state of the thermostat contacts is monitored (continuing even when it is working). When the smoke thermostat is triggered, the cut-off by draft 601 is blocked.

Flame detection - The presence of a flame is detected by the flame detection electrode. If the flame sensor does not detect input power during the flame detection cycle: Ariston Egis 24 FF repeats the ignition attempt 3 times at soft ignition power, if after the 3rd attempt the presence of a flame is not detected, the boiler goes into blocking mode 501. Ariston Egis 24 CF goes into blocking mode 501 (only one ignition attempt). Safety time - 8 sec.

Circulation control - Checking is carried out using water temperature sensors in the supply and return pipelines of the heating circuit. In this case, each of these temperatures is checked, as well as their difference. In the FF models, the pressure is additionally controlled by a minimum pressure switch.

Flame modulation - After detecting a flame, the Ariston Egis boiler regulates the power in accordance with the required thermal load. Power adjustment is carried out by changing the power on the burner. The regulation is carried out within the maximum value of the heating output (set on the control panel - parameter 231) and minimum value power (installed on the gas valve). The following relationship exists between burner shutdown and temperature: 1 minute after flame detection: T off = T set point + 8C, 2 minutes after flame detection: T off = T set point + 6 C starting from the 3rd minute after flame detection: T off = T setpoint + 4C. This principle prevents the burner from starting too quickly at a certain system temperature. The next ignition can be carried out after a set time from 0 to 7 minutes (default is 2 minutes; the value is configured on the panel control-parameter 236).

Overheating control - Carried out by a thermostat (102±4C) located on the heating return line (even when the burner is on). After opening the thermostat, an emergency shutdown occurs (without indication); after 5 s, if the thermostat is already open, the boiler is blocked (memorized). Error 101 appears on the display.

3-way valve - To change the direction of water movement, the device uses a three-way valve (installed on the line of the heating system or DHW heat exchanger). The 3-way valve is controlled by the electronic board of the Ariston Egis 24 ff boiler using a special relay. The valve consists of a body made of composite material and an electric motor (actuator). If the boiler is in standby mode, the valve is in DHW mode. The drive of the three-way valve is from the ELBI electric motor. When replacing the valve, it is dismantled without draining the system, it is necessary to remove the clamp (2) and disconnect the supply cable. The three-way valve is powered from the electronic board of the boiler in accordance with the one selected on the panel.
function control (mixed mode or DHW only). Two built-in microswitches (right and left) allow you to turn off the voltage of the electric motor when switching positions.

DHW heat exchanger - The DHW plate heat exchanger is attached to the hydraulic units with 2 screws. The fixing holes for the screws are located asymmetrically on the heat exchanger housing, mounting in the wrong position is excluded.

Circulation pump - Constant speed circulation pump: Wilo INTMTSL 15/Premium-1. Types of post-circulation pump. Room thermostat open - 2 min. (adjustable by parameter 2 37 between 0 and 15 min.). Return from heating mode to standby mode - 2 min. Burner off (setting T +4 C) - Constantly. The boiler is switched off due to lack of water circulation - 103 - 104 - 105 - 106 - 107. - 1 min. Appliance lockout - no flame detected 501. - 2 min. Overheating 101. - 2 min. The end of the "CHIPPER" function - 2 min. If menu 2 parameter 10 is set to CO. - Constantly. End of DHW request or end of cycle "COMFORT" parameter 2 54=0 30 min. (T75S) / 3 min. (T75C).
End of DHW request or end of cycle "COMFORT" parameter 2 54=1 - 3 min. The anti-calc system is switched off at 62C or 65C according to the NTCs DHW sensor - No stop. End of the anti-freeze function. - 2 minutes.

Bypass - The Ariston Egis 24 FF, 24 CF boiler is equipped with an automatic bypass that does not require adjustment. In the event of a loss of load in the system, caused, for example, by a thermostat or valve, the bypass ensures a minimum flow in the main heat exchanger of 350 l/h. Thus, the bypass protects the main heat exchanger from overheating in case of poor or insufficient water circulation. When these conditions occur, the system regulates the power and then turns off the burner when the set temperature is reached. The bypass is located in the supply unit and is attached to the same unit as safety valve 3 bar.

Expansion tank - The expansion tank makes it possible to compensate for the pressure that occurs in the primary circuit when the water temperature rises. It consists of two parts separated by an SBR rubber membrane. In one part there is nitrogen, in the other - water from the main heating circuit. The nitrogen chamber (which can be compressed) absorbs the excess volume of water formed when the water temperature rises. The expansion tank is designed to work with no more than a 175-liter heating system.

DHW flow sensor - In DHW mode, the water flow passes through the turbine, which allows the electronic board to measure the water flow using the relays on the reed switches. When the DHW flow fluctuates, after the measurements made by the DHW flow meter, the board sends a command to start or stop the gas supply in order to reduce temperature fluctuations. The DHW flow sensor is equipped with an inlet filter to protect against contamination. There is also a device that protects against water hammer in the cold water pipeline, which can be activated using parameter 252 in the range from 0.5 sec. up to 20 sec. (0.5 sec by default). DHW circulation data can be obtained using parameter 825. The voltage at CN14 can also be measured.

Temperature sensors - To control the temperature in the supply and return lines of the primary circuit, there are two contact sensors. To determine the DHW temperature, an NTC 2 sensor is used, located at the inlet of the main heat exchanger, and the DHW is regulated indirectly, according to the temperature of the heat carrier. If the NTC 1 sensor is faulty, then the Anti-freeze function is provided by the NTC 2 sensor (only the operation of the circulation pump, without turning on the burner).

SIT 845 SIGMA gas valve - The gas supply valve installed on the Ariston Egis 24 ff boiler is a SIT 845 SIGMA valve with two control coils (powered by 220 V AC) that supply gas to the main burner or shut off the gas supply. The pressure of the gas coming from the valve is regulated by a low voltage modulator (24 V) located on the valve, depending on the readings of the temperature sensors transmitted to printed circuit board. The modulator is suitable for operation with both natural and liquefied gas. The valve is also equipped with a NAC504 assembly to supply power to the ignition unit and gas valve. The valve is adjusted so that when switching to another type of gas, it is only necessary to install the appropriate nozzle (no replacement of valve parts is required). The maximum allowable supply gas pressure for this valve is 60 mbar.

Burner - All models of Ariston Egis boilers use a 19 mm Polidoro burner. The electrodes (two ignition electrodes and one flame detection electrode) form a single piece. The ignition electrodes must be placed at a distance of 4 ± 1 mm from the burner, 8 ± 1 mm from the base of the burner, the flame detection electrode must be at least 8 ± 1 mm from the burner. If the burner does not ignite at the end of the ignition cycle, error code 501 is displayed on the control panel display. The minimum ionization current is 1 microampere. Ionization voltage - 110 V AC.

Pneumatic relay - Various pressure switches are used to ensure proper flue gas evacuation in the boiler. 24 kW: OFF = 50 Pa / 0.50 mbar; ON = 60 Pa / 0.60 mbar. The first pressure value is determined in the fan (point "L" of the pneumatic relay). The second pressure value is determined inside the combustion chamber (point "H" of the pneumatic relay). In fact, two negative pressure values are used (relative to
atmospheric pressure), but this is especially important for pneumatic relays if there is a corresponding pressure difference (which can be measured using a differential pressure gauge connected to two pressure measuring points located in the upper part of the boiler). During operation of the boiler, the air relay is always active. Any "opening" during operation is always fixed. 607: Pneumatic relay is on before the ignition process starts. 6P1: The air relay did not turn on when the fan was started.

Ariston Egis Plus

Models of gas boilers Ariston Egis Plus: 24 FF, 24 CF

Features of the hydraulic module of the boiler Ariston Egis Plus

Water supply group - The supply group is connected to the multifunctional group by means of a proportional bypass and at the rear to the secondary heat exchanger. Front: the supply group is connected to the hot water pipe from the main heat exchanger with water sensor and safety
3 bar valve. Components of the hydrogroup of the boiler Ariston Egis Plus 24: a hot water pipe from the main heat exchanger, a heating circuit supply fitting, a safety valve, a hot sanitary water supply fitting, a secondary heat exchanger, a bypass (to the multifunctional group): the maximum capacity of the bypass circuit is 380 l / min. Make sure that the maximum pressure in the water supply system does not exceed 6 bar; in case of excess, it is necessary to install a pressure reducer. The minimum pressure to switch to hot water mode is 0.4 bar (only for MFFI models). You can install a water flow restrictor on the hot water outlet to save hot water and reduce waiting times.

3-way valve - The 3-way valve is constantly energized, its function is to direct the flow of water from the main circuit to heat the secondary heat exchanger (in hot water mode) or to the radiators (in heating mode). In heating mode, the return spring pushes the damper, shutting off the hot water circuit. In hot water mode - motorized drive
overcomes the action of the return spring and moves the damper, blocking the heating circuit. Switching of the 3-way valve: In the "WINTER" mode, the circulation pump is switched on by a signal room thermostat with a fixed delay of 7 seconds - the time required to switch the 3-way valve controlled by a relay from DHW heating to heating mode.

Three-way valve actuator - Specifications: pushrod stroke: 7.5 mm, switching time: valve opening: 6 sec. valve closing: 4 sec., voltage: ~220V/50Hz. Removing the 3-way valve: Detach the actuator spring retainer. Disconnect drive. Unscrew the screws. Disconnect the drive armature. Remove pusher, damper and spring. Clean all components from traces of scale; when assembling, it is necessary to observe the alignment of the components and correctly install the O-rings on both fittings.

Water inlet fitting and flow sensor - When hot water is turned on by the consumer, water passes through the sensor housing, which works on the principle of the Hall effect (the signal impulse depends on the water pressure). The water pressure must be at least 2.5 liters per minute to transmit a control signal. The control board energizes the flow sensor, which transmits a switching control signal (if the water pressure is sufficient to switch the system to DHW mode) back to the board, which, in turn, switches the system to DHW mode. This control signal works in on/off mode. The minimum pressure is 0.4 bar. The control board of the boiler Ariston Egis Plus 24 FF, 24 CF does not respond to a signal lasting less than 0.5 seconds, preventing short on / off in case of water hammer in the cold water supply circuit. Elements: Cold water inlet fitting, Filling port, Cold water inlet fitting, Flow sensor, Sensor gasket, Water outlet port to multifunctional hydraulic group

Expansion tank - The expansion tank equalizes the expansion of water that occurs in the main circuit during temperature changes. It consists of two sections separated by a rubber diaphragm. Nitrogen is pumped in one section, the other is directly connected to the main circuit. Specifications: Capacity: 7 liters, Nitrogen pressure: 1 bar, Maximum working temperature: 90C, Maximum working pressure: 3.0, Maximum main circuit capacity: 130 liters, Parts: fixing bracket, multifunctional group connection tube, union.

Secondary heat exchanger - 16 section plate heat exchanger made of AISI 316 stainless steel. Power: 27 kW. The heat exchanger is equipped with a de-axial stopper to ensure correct installation.

Gas equipment boilers Egis Plus

Gas valve - The boiler is equipped with a gas valve model SIT 845 SIGMA. The low voltage modulator installed on the valves (24V) is the same for both natural gas and liquefied gas. Electrical diagram of the solenoids: EV1 voltage (between pins 3 and 4) = 220 V. EV1 resistance (between pins 3 and 4) = 878 Ohm. EV2 voltage (between pins 1 and 3) = 220 V. EV1 resistance (between pins 3 and 4) = 6860 Ohm. Modulator coil resistance = 80 Ohm. The gas valve is equipped with a spark generator/ignition transformer RB CONTROL 230V. The 845 Sigma gas valve is equipped with two safety solenoid valves that control the gas flow. Power is supplied to the first valve (EV1), thereby opening the gas passage to the first damper.

A second solenoid valve (EV2) installed on the servo control circuit allows the gas to pass into the chamber under the second flap (intermediate chamber). In the event of a power failure or loss of gas pressure, return springs return the valves to closed position shutting off the gas supply to the boiler. The pressure is controlled by a servo control circuit. The outlet pressure is kept constant while the feed rate and inlet gas pressure are varied by the modulator. When the outlet pressure reaches the set value, the diaphragm of the regulator rises and the gas pressure in the intermediate chamber drops, thus lowering the damper and reducing the outlet gas pressure to the set value. Similarly, when the outlet pressure drops, the pressure in the intermediate chamber increases, raising the flapper and thus increasing the outlet gas pressure.

Adjustment of soft ignition / maximum sparking voltage - Soft ignition and maximum power of the heating circuit on the 845 Sigma gas valve are regulated by a potentiometer on the control board. To adjust, it is necessary to install jumper No. 4 from position (connector CN100) B to position A and disconnect the ionization electrode; thus, the following functions are activated: with the DHW temperature setting knob - soft ignition control (red indicator flashes); heating temperature setting knob - maximum heating power (red indicator flashes). The Ariston Egis Plus 24 ff boiler starts up in the soft ignition pressure mode and, as soon as the ionization electrode has detected a flame, this mode is turned off. If a flame is not detected, the following indication lights up on the control panel: the red indicator flashes.

Setting the power in the mode of checking the presence and circulation of water - On this boiler it is possible, only when changing types of gas, to adjust the power at the time of checking the presence and circulation of water, which is carried out by means of temperature sensors NTC(1) and NTC(2). The interval for this check lasts 12 seconds after a flame is detected; the boiler controls the output differently, depending on whether it works in CH mode or in DHW mode: Heating mode: after the stage soft start the boiler reaches the set power value depending on the position of jumper No. 1 and the heating temperature adjustment knob, by default it is 60% of the maximum power. DHW mode: after the soft start stage, the Ariston Egis Plus 24 FF / CF boiler can switch to modulation mode if an increase in power is necessary; if the regulation requires a power reduction, the boiler must return to the fixed power value that was set.

To adjust the output depending on the type of gas, it is necessary to set jumper No. 1 (connector CN102) from position B to position A, thus the heating temperature adjustment knob is activated for adjustment (red indicator flashes). This knob regulates the gas pressure in heating mode (by default it corresponds to 60% of the heat output) depending on the type of gas, namely natural gas = 49% of max. heating output, LPG = 70% of max. heating power. This adjustment can only be made within 12 seconds of flame detection. When jumper No. 1 returns to its original position, the control board remembers
set value.

Gas Pressure Adjustment - The gas inlet pressure and (max./min.) pressure at the outlet of the gas valve can be measured through dedicated ports. As soon as the control is completed, it is necessary to tighten and seal the corresponding screws. The recommended tightening torque is 1.0 Nm. Disconnect the compensation tube, if used, remove the plastic cap. Supply pressure: set the boiler to maximum power mode (maximum current is supplied to the modulator) and measure. The boiler returns to normal mode after 5 minutes or by pressing the off-on button. Maximum pressure: set the Ariston Egis Plus 24 FF / CF boiler to maximum power mode
(the maximum current is applied to the modulator). Tighten the nut, increasing the outlet pressure, unscrew - reducing the gas pressure. Use a 10 mm wrench. The boiler returns to normal mode after 5 minutes or by pressing the off-on button. Minimum pressure: turn off the power from the valve modulator (disconnect the corresponding wire), holding the nut, tighten the screw, thereby increasing the pressure or loosening the screw - decreasing the pressure. Use a flat screwdriver. Remove the plastic cap from the modulator. Natural gas G20 / Butane G30 / Propane G31 - Inlet pressure (mbar) - 20 / 30 / 37. Max. pressure (mbar) - 10 / 24.2 / 36.1. Min. pressure (mbar) - 2.1 / 6.8 / 6.5.

Boiler burner Ariston Egis Plus (closed chamber) - Specifications: Compact type. Power: 24 kW. Number of nozzles: 11. Nozzles: Diameter 1.35 mm for G20 natural gas. Diameter 0.78 mm for LPG (G30 - G31).

Burner (open chamber) - Specifications: Compact type. Power: 24 kW. Number of nozzles: 12. Nozzles: Diameter mm for natural gas G20. Diameter mm for LPG (G30-31).

Changing the type of gas: setting the power in the mode of checking the presence and circulation of water in the heating circuit - To switch from one type of gas to another on the Egis Plus boiler, follow the instructions: Dismantle the burner. Replace injectors and related gaskets. Repeat max./min. pressure and soft start on the gas valve. Change the power of sparking (within 12”) in the mode of monitoring the presence / circulation of water in the heating circuit.

Flame detection - The flame is detected by the ionization current through the ionization electrode. A short circuit of the ionization electrode to the ground will lead to an emergency shutdown of the boiler. The minimum ionization current is approximately 0.5 mA; The voltage between the electrode and the "ground" - 110 V; The minimum resistance between the electrode and the "ground" is more than 60 MΩ. Polarity does not matter in determining the presence of a flame.

Ionization current test method: Disconnect the wire between the electrode and the board in the center. Measure the presence of a current of 0.5 mA with a tester between two open wire contacts. Voltage test method: Disconnect the wire between the electrode and the board at the center. Measure the voltage (at least 110 V) with a tester between the wire and ground.

The question of how to start a heating boiler may seem extremely simple to you. We plug the device into a power outlet, press a couple of buttons (if any), and the device starts its work. In fact, it turns out that the first launch is the most responsible. It allows you to check the reliability of the entire system, as well as to carry out fine tuning basic heating parameters. In addition, the first launch, which, in theory, should be carried out by specialists, will determine the presence warranty service. If you do something wrong, the device may be voided from the warranty, or you may be denied a free repair, citing the fact that errors were made during connection or startup. Therefore, approach the matter seriously, and do everything exactly as I will tell you next. website

First start of the gas boiler: filling heating system water

First of all, I would like to say that the first start-up is focused on checking and setting up not only the boiler itself, but also the entire heating system to which it is connected. Therefore, your first steps will determine how efficient the heating in your home will be. Initially, you need to start filling the system with water. At the bottom of the boiler, where the pipes are connected, you will find a small valve, or something like that. The shape of the valve may vary from model to model, so don't be surprised if your "valve" turns out to be just a plastic spinning pin. We look at the instructions and check the position of the valve at the present time. If it is closed, then you need to turn it to the open position. But you need to do this so that the valve is not fully open. Otherwise, "hanging air" may remain in the pipes.

Next, look at the pressure gauge (pressure indicator). The first start-up of the boiler provides for the creation of a pressure of approximately 2-2.5 atmospheres. As soon as the arrow reaches the appropriate value, turn off the pressure pump (if any), close the tap and proceed to bleed air using Mayevsky's automatic or manual taps, and on each heating device. That is, we open the faucet - air comes out. When the water comes out, you can close the tap. At this time, the pressure gauge on the boiler should show a pressure of 1-1.5 atmospheres, which must be brought up to 1.5-2 atmospheres. This will be the optimum operating pressure for your combi boiler.

The first start-up of a gas boiler: pressure testing and flushing of the system

In principle, not all specialists do this item, but I would recommend that you do not refuse it. You'll have to tinker, but inside everything will be clean. To carry out further operations, you still need to acquire a pressure pump. If you do not want to buy, you can borrow it from friends. After that, you probably won't need it anymore. Pressure testing of the system is carried out in order to determine the strength and density of all joints and components of the system. Simply put, when you pressurize, you check the system for leaks. Pressure testing can be carried out both with a water column and compressed air. We pump water under pressure one and a half times the working one, after which we leave the system alone for 10-15 minutes. Restoring operating pressure. If there is a decrease in pressure on the pressure gauge during the pressure test, then you have a leak somewhere. Correct defects after they are found, and repeat the process.

Next, we will flush the system, which is an indispensable process that accompanies the first start-up of the boiler. First, a rough washing is carried out, removing all light suspensions. Flushing must be carried out at a pressure of 4 bar. The water stirred up after pressing will leave the system through open waters. The second stage is a final flush, which must be carried out using pressure pumps. It is possible that you will encounter clogging of the "mud collectors" filters that are installed in front of the boiler. If this happens, we close the shut-off valve and clean the mesh, having previously disassembled the filter.

Starting a gas boiler in winter

If you are doing the first run in winter period, then you can stumble upon major troubles associated with the features temperature regime heating system. Before you start filling the system with water, warm up all the rooms to positive temperatures using all kinds of heating devices. When this is done, fill the short circuit, closer to the distributor or boiler, warm the coolant to 20 degrees, and gradually move further along the circuits. Make sure that the poured water is within 20 degrees Celsius. It is not worth warming up the coolant strongly, because, again, you can run into problems. I strongly recommend that you carry out this procedure with a partner who will control the radiators or pressure.

Direct start of the boiler

Now you can start the boiler in operating mode. We plug the device into a power outlet, open the gas supply valve and look at the numbers on the screen. We press the power button, set all the switches to the working position, according to the instructions. The boiler will start to turn on. The main thing is to make the circulation pump work. In order for it to work in normal mode, it will be necessary to remove from it the air that remains in it despite all the preliminary procedures. So, to remove air from the pump, you need to remove the front cover from the boiler, tilt the dashboard and find the circulation pump. We unscrew the wide screw from it, but not completely. Water will run out of it, mixed with air bubbles. When the bubbles run out, tighten the screw. That's all, now the liquid will circulate through the system in full mode. Don't worry if you hear gurgling sounds. This is air valve automatically releases the air remaining in the expansion tank from the system. When the pressure stabilizes, the “bulks” will disappear.
