Drilling horizontal holes with diamond drilling machines. Installation of diamond drilling. Types of drilling services or where diamond drilling is used

Diamond drilling in reinforced concrete — modern technology which is characterized by high efficiency of the work done. Cutting makes it possible to quickly and efficiently cut solid materials of any degree of reinforcement. Diamond drilling works are carried out when it is necessary to carry out ventilation, solve the problem of sewerage routes, and reconstruct living quarters in a short period of time. The excellent quality of the technology is incomparable with the work of a perforator or a jackhammer. Holes, boreholes, openings or recesses are accurate, even, smooth, characterized by a minimum presence of dust, noise and vibration waves. Specialized equipment saw through reinforced concrete and other materials in a few hours. A similar effect cannot be achieved using other tools and methods of work. The service of diamond drilling in Moscow is in great demand.

Examples of our work

Features of the technological process

Diamond drilling of reinforced concrete structures is labor intensive, requires thorough and deep knowledge, skills, experience, as well as specialized supplies. There are several methods for drilling reinforced concrete structures. The choice of method depends on the level of complexity of the work performed. On the this moment cutting is the most effective various materials. Process Benefits:

  • A minimum noise level is produced that meets all sanitary standards, which in turn allows for the repair or construction of residential premises and industrial facilities.
  • Good speed and powerful cutting allows you to effectively work on reinforced concrete structures.
  • The high severity of the cut and the non-impact method minimize the presence of vibration waves and construction dust.

High process controllability. Cutting is used to create a smooth and even surface with little or no deviation from the markup.

High tech equipment with diamond-coated allows you to quickly and efficiently drill reinforced concrete products. The technology prevents the formation of cracks on the surface, damage engineering communications. Such troubles are inevitable when using the impact-dynamic method. Often, wall chips and deformation lead to partial or total destruction structures.

People involved in construction often need to drill holes that are much larger in diameter than conventional drill. Lay a sewer riser through a concrete monolith, cut a fragment strip foundation, do air vent in reinforced concrete slab ceilings, drill a wall of brick or foam concrete - all this can be done with an existing installation diamond drilling.

Diamond drilling is also called core drilling. This is a method of creating holes that allows you to destroy the material along a given circle, and not along the entire area of \u200b\u200bthe hole (as, for example, occurs during drilling or perforation). At the end of drilling, the internal fragment of the drilled material is simply removed from the hole.

Currently, diamond drilling rigs of various formats can be purchased on the market. However, there will always be someone who is ready to invent something of their own and at the same time share personal experience. Here, for example, what installation was collected by the user of our portal weldcut.

Let's take a look at her example design features homemade device. schematically standard installation for diamond drilling looks like this.

1. Bed with guides.
2. Power unit (powerful drill or electric motor).
3. Shank - a shaft that transmits rotation from the spindle to the diamond crown.
4. Diamond crown with crown tube.

bed

The bed is a kind of latch with which the drilling rig is attached to the surface being drilled. At the same time, the bed serves as a frame on which the remaining elements of the device are hung. In the design of small manual installations, the frame may be completely absent. Drilling is carried out manually, which significantly increases the complexity of the work.

The need to use a frame is determined by the diameter of the hole being drilled. For example, if the hole diameter is less than 40 mm, then the drill can be used without a bed.

My fighters drill vertical holes up to 50 mm without any stops. To do this, use a machine with a power of 2 kW. Just holding hands. At the beginning of drilling, a jig is used. When drilling horizontal holes up to 40 mm, the mechanism is also held by hand. Holes are drilled up to 300 mm deep. Haven't had to do more yet. Guys of average build are not giants. Just experience already several hundred holes for each.

The design of the universal bed allows you to drill horizontal, vertical and even inclined holes in walls, ceilings and floors. There are two ways to securely attach the bed to the surface being drilled: using anchor bolts and with the help of vacuum suction cups (the second method requires an ideal flat surface). At the same time, on a horizontal surface, the installation can be securely fixed under its own weight.

Here is a photo of drilling a hole in a reinforced concrete wall of a septic tank (100mm). The device is not fixed at all in any way, but simply lies on the ground. Never took a bite.

The author of the design welded a strong metal frame, the main elements of which are made of pipes rectangular section. Limiting dies are welded on the sides of the frame, which do not allow the upper part of the unit to come off the rails.

All this makes it possible to fix the installation with anchor bolts or not to use fasteners at all (an installation drilled into the material by several centimeters will no longer leave the given direction).

Power block

In serial installations, a powerful drill is most often used as a power unit. Sometimes an electric or gasoline engine is used instead of a drill (gasoline is rarely used). The gearbox built into the unit ensures the speed of rotation of the working shaft - from 100 to 2700 rpm.

AT homemade installation, the design of which is presented on our portal, is used Electrical engine from a concrete mixer. Its power is only 0.75 kW, and the speed of the cutter reaches 600 rpm. Torque is transmitted to the shank via a belt drive. The small power of the engine is compensated by the difference between the diameters of the drive pulleys. This allows drilling into iron concrete walls ah holes with a diameter of up to 100 mm and above. Commercially available units have much higher motor power (from 1000 W and above). At the same time, their specifications are quite commensurate with the characteristics of a home-made installation.

The shank body deserves special attention (a piece of thick-walled metal pipe), the main function of which is to create a reliable support for the working shaft. It is in it that the support bearing for the shank is inserted. The bearing is used alone. The other end of the shank is welded to the bit body. This design is fully justified, because the shanks of serial installations also have one fulcrum, which is the drill chuck.

weldcut FORUMHOUSE User

The front bearing is not only unnecessary, but also harmful, because it requires a perfectly axially centered shaft, which is difficult to achieve for a knee-mounted installation.

Diamond crown with a pipe

The diamond crown is the key element of the drilling rig. The high-strength alloy, complete with soldered diamond segments, allows drilling holes of various diameters in concrete: from 4 to 400 mm (in fact, there are bits with a diameter of 1400 mm or more, but they are designed for industrial installations). Installations capable of drilling holes over 150 mm in diameter are very rarely used at home. The design that our user put together has a diamond core bit with a diameter of 112mm.

The average length of the crown (coronal tube) varies from 400 to 450 mm. In each case, this size is selected based on the thickness of the structure to be drilled.

Crown cooling

In order to prolong the life of the diamond core bit, it must be cooled during operation. Work on the formation of holes can be done with the use of coolant, or without it. In this regard, there are two methods of drilling holes: "dry" and "wet".

Dry drilling is used when drilling porous materials: foam concrete, brick, etc. In this case, the use of coolant can only do harm. After all, saturated with moisture construction material loses its strength, which reduces its service life.

For dry drilling, special crowns are used (with diamond segments welded by laser welding).

This method requires the use of a construction vacuum cleaner, which, after being connected to the installation, collects dust (formed in in large numbers) and at the same time cools cutting tool air flow.

Wet drilling allows you to drill harder and non-porous monoliths: concrete, heavily reinforced concrete, etc. For wet drilling, crowns with brazed cutting segments are used. If the soldering temperature reaches critical values (approximately 600°C), the diamond crown will fail. In order to cool the cutting segments, water is continuously supplied to the diamond bit.

In the design of serial units, the following coolant supply scheme is used.

1. Diamond crown.
2. The body of the wall (floor).
3. Diamond crown pipe.
4. Adapter for connecting the crown with the shank.
5. A tube for supplying a cooling (flushing) liquid.

User weldcut implemented a system for flushing and cooling the crown as follows.

Mounted in the axial hole of the drive pulley copper tube, through which water flows by gravity into the internal cavity of the diamond crown. The water tank (ordinary canister) is installed on a hill.

With a high frequency of rotation of the working shaft, it is very important to prevent interruptions in the water supply. This can lead to rapid overheating of the solders.

Elkinn FORUMHOUSE User

Due to the lack of wetting, the crowns fly - just hold on...

Safety devices

During drilling of hard materials, the installation may be subjected to large mechanical overloads (for example, if a strong distortion of the bit is allowed). In order to avoid unpleasant consequences, serial units are equipped with safety couplings.

The home-made device presented on our portal is protected from overload by a conventional drive belt, which simply slips on the pulleys when biting the crown.

Drilling technology

In order for drilling to proceed without complications, and as a result, holes of the correct shape were obtained, the drilling rig must initially be set in the correct direction.

First of all, the device should be correctly set relative to the structure being drilled. It is possible to provide the installation with the required position using an ordinary building level. A correctly set bit will easily enter the surface of the building structure, and in order for the tool to drill into the given point, you must use a conductor.

You can buy such a device, or you can make it yourself.

The glass of the diamond crown, in this case, is simply inserted into a fixed metal frame. After the bit enters the concrete, the frame is removed and drilling continues in the desired direction.

The crown can only be removed from the hole when the engine is switched off!

As a means personal protection it is recommended to use waterproof gloves, earmuffs and protective knee pads (may be needed when drilling vertical floors).

Diamond drilling of concrete is widely used in construction. The technology became popular due to its high efficiency. Since for the most part the supporting frame of modern building structures is monolithic reinforced concrete, others traditional technologies drilling under these conditions is inefficient. Even the most powerful rotary hammer cannot match this method.

To date diamond drilling holes in concrete remains the most effective for obtaining through or blind holes in reinforced concrete walls, and if they are saturated with reinforcement - the only way. In addition to concrete, this method can work with hard materials such as granite, marble, steel.

Advantages

Diamond drilling has many advantages over other methods:

  • depth can reach 15 m;
  • the ability to work at any angle;
  • lack of dust and debris, which are completely deposited by water;
  • the possibility of drilling, despite the location of the reinforcement;
  • high speed;
  • absolutely accurate and round holes with runout up to 2mm and almost polished edges;
  • low noise level during work;
  • lack of vibrations that can lead to the appearance of microcracks;
  • drilling is carried out in a vertical and horizontal surface;
  • 220V power supply voltage is sufficient for work;
  • can work in hard-to-reach places where traditional methods are difficult to apply.

The method also has its drawbacks:

  • expensive equipment requires very careful handling and maintenance by an experienced specialist;
  • consumables should be changed periodically;
  • process cooling water flows onto the floor or wall and requires the use of additional water collection equipment.

Concrete diamond drilling technology

Drilling is carried out by a powerful unit, which consists of a base, a stand, an electric motor and a drill bit. Diamond teeth are soldered to the base of the crown. They

consist of crystals of industrial diamonds on a binder - powdered metal.

During drilling, under the influence of high temperatures, the crown is transformed into a monolithic matrix, which can quickly and efficiently drill in the toughest material: reinforced concrete and granite pass equally well. Moreover, it is possible to drill in brick, foam concrete and other traditional building materials. The speed of drilling and its high accuracy, with ideal positioning relative to the markup, the evenness of their geometric dimensions and other characteristics favorably distinguish diamond drilling from traditional, but outdated methods.

Diamond drilling is a non-impact method that compares favorably with jackhammers. To carry it out, it is enough to have at hand a regular household electrical network with a voltage of 220 volts and a source of water. The water cooling the working tool is collected immediately using an industrial vacuum cleaner.

Stages

  1. The place of work, places of wiring of communications, electrical wiring, pipes, etc. are being studied.
  2. Picked up optimal size crowns, the center and contours of the hole are determined.
  3. The bed is attached.
  4. An installation with a crown is mounted on the base.
  5. The design is checked for play. The elements of fixation, fastening of the crown, carriage of the bed are inspected.
  6. The water cooling system is supplied and connected.
  7. Work is being done.

When may be required

Drilling with a diamond crown may also be required in an apartment high-rise building and during construction country cottage. The minimum level of noise and dynamic impact allows you to work in residential buildings during reconstruction and repair, and even in already renovated apartments. The technology can be applied to:

  • drilling holes in the foundation for ventilation or sewerage;
  • installation of gas and heating pipelines;
  • power supply wiring;
  • installation of fire fighting systems;
  • air conditioning systems;
  • installation of chemical anchors;
  • conducting ventilation communications within the walls: pipes and sockets;
  • fencing installation.
  • other cases when required precise drilling without dust and noise.

The method is used when the task is to make a hole with an accuracy of up to a millimeter. Vertical holes are made, for example, to install machines or fix supports to create a canopy, installation garden furniture etc.

During the repair of residential apartments and offices, it is sometimes necessary to break through a new opening. During the repair process, sometimes it becomes necessary to change the layout, within which it is necessary to make a door or window opening. You can make a series of holes to form one large or even an opening of any shape.
