More about boilers Kiturami KRP 20A

Kiturami KRP 20A - floor standing pellet boilers for heating an area up to 192 m2 with built-in DHW function. The double-circuit heat exchanger runs on a special type of fuel - pellets, which are pressed wood waste in the form of granules. All work processes of the plant are fully automated, and the control is carried out by means of remote control with integrated room thermostat.

Kiturami KRP 20A" - main characteristics

Efficiency heating unit directly determined by the quality of the pellets. Fuel pellets should be stored in a dry place - under the influence of moisture they are transformed into "harmful" wood flour. When such a formation is loaded into the fuel compartment, the heat exchanger power decreases (base value - 23.3 kW), efficiency decreases ( standard value 92%) and increased ash production.

The boiler has a built-in circulation pump, which increases the efficiency for the second circuit when generating hot water - 13.8 l / minute at temperatures up to 65 ° C. The maximum volume of the coolant provided by the design is 168 liters. The complete set of the heat exchanger includes the presence of a thermostat that performs a number of functions:

  • temperature selection DHW heating depending on the season;
  • automatic "on / off" by time;
  • autonomous operation without user intervention with support for the minimum set temperature;
  • automatic protection against overloads and so on.

Kiturami KRP 20A consumes fuel efficiently - thanks to a special feed screw, pellets are automatically dosed based on the need for heat and the current stage of combustion. accelerating circulation pump together with expansion tank are pre-integrated into the structure of the thermal unit, which simplifies its installation.

The design of the boiler prevents backfire and allows you to quickly dispose of waste - the ash box is easily emptied, and periodic cleaning of the compartment does not cause even the slightest difficulty. For safe operation of the heat exchanger, double protection against overheating is provided, which is provided by a set of appropriate sensors. When operating at minimum temperatures during the cold season, the frost protection function will not allow the equipment to fail.

As a result, Kiturami KRP 20A is a reliable and extremely easy-to-maintain device that heats the heating specified by the manufacturer with high quality. working area. The presence of a second circuit allows you to have regular volumes of hot water during all year round no extra charges for additional equipment.

Actually, as promised, my impressions of the Kiturami boiler. I do not pretend to absolute objectivism.
1. Appearance.
"+" Painting is even, even better than the first Wirbel. About the same as Sunsystem. Joints, evenness of sheathing sheets - the norm.
"+" screw motor is really good - Korean. Indeed, in Biomatic it is used all the time. Very reliable. With built-in thermal protection, low power - 25 W.
"+" there is a sight glass in the burner

"+" outwardly liked room regulator(although the functionality could not be tested)
"+" "-" auger is good, but only short and only straight.
"+" - mechanical cleaning of the burner grate - good
"-" wires for the electrical connection of the auger hang chaotically (this is not a jamb of installation!) - there is no other way. Even the capacitors and circuit breakers are stupidly screwed to the auger and the wires hang.
"-" - the design of the ash box \ boiler - I think it's unsuccessful. The fact that there are 15 liters in it - I can believe, but the fact that you can pull out these 15 liters with ash - I will never believe - it's impossible. The box slides out onto itself and immediately rests against the burner nozzle. And neither the door limiter nor the hopper allows to open the door further. That is, in order to remove the pallet, you need to raise it 30 degrees up and pull it towards you, you can imagine the result. The pallet is also inconvenient in design for carrying - the handle is on one side. So option 1 is to vacuum, and a vacuum cleaner, even a specialized one, clogs up pretty quickly - this is a personal experience.
Autonomy for ash removal is small.
"-" the clamping antennae of the front cover that closes the heat exchanger are made of thin iron and, when pulled by the lamb, they already begin to bend (this is a topic about the thickness of the steel).
"-" in order to look into the sight glass in the burner, you need to kneel and tilt your head
"-" for inserted turbulators. When I took them in my hand - the impression is that they are made of tin like a tin can. If I had gloves, I would roll them into a separate lump. And they, as it turned out, are superfluous in this boiler, why - I will describe below in the "boiler operation".
"-" instruction on 3 sheets - consider not at all
2. Boiler operation.
Before starting, the vacuum in the boiler was checked. On the street +15, the chimney is 7 m, insulated, the diameter is not specified (about 100 -120mm).
readings: in the combustion chamber 1 Pa, in the chimney after the boiler (the measurement was made through the condensate collector - that is, only the straight part) - 3 Pa. Therefore, at start-up, smoke came out from under loose connections in the boiler and chimney. But as soon as the boiler started, the chimney quickly warmed up and the smoke passed. We measured the draft after the boiler during operation - the draft improved, reaching 13 Pa. So the chimney is great.
"+" after our settings with Ilya on the performance of the auger - the boiler quickly started up and worked (according to Ilya's information) for the night without emergency stops.
"-" fan is very noisy
"-" back to the turbulators. As I wrote above, they are made to increase heat removal for the sake of efficiency, but the boiler was not originally designed for pellet combustion. Kiturami went on easy way, by simply adding these "snakes". But this is where the ambush came. For the purity of the experiment and evaluation of the work, it was necessary to measure the rarefaction in the furnace of the boiler operating at maximum power. There is no special hole, so I tried to use a viewing hole. Having unscrewed the glass, I realized that I couldn’t insert the sensor tube there - the heat and pressure of this heat from the hole were so great that it indicated that there was excess pressure in the furnace even without measurement! For example, Wirbel, with all its minuses, has a sensor that protects against this excess pressure. How dangerous this pressure is, I hope it is not necessary to explain.
"-" control. Rustic. The display has 2 digits, in which 2 digits. It's all.

"-" Settings. To be honest, I don’t even know how they will set it up there. And I didn't understand the logic. Well, the fact that you need to change the screw parameter (work / pause) is understandable. We somehow brought the power up to the required 17-18 kW. But how can you set up the operation without being able to change the parameter of the combustion fan. Or I didn't understand something. But it's not in the manual! And poking around in the controller it was not possible to find it. By adjusting only the supply, we change the power of the boiler A, how to adjust O2 and CO. My measurements showed CO - 300 ppm, oxygen 17%. Further - a question?
"-" heat management - stupidly on / off the heating pump.
"-" the temperature on the boiler elements is high. We heat the boiler room. But even on the boiler door - and it is open to touch - the temperature during the acceleration of the boiler - reached 80C - this is a word about the thickness of the insulation. Measurement photo below (taken when the boiler reached 67C and stopped):

For heating and meeting the needs of hot water, in the absence of gasification, pellet boilers Kiturami KRP are installed. Korean pellet stations are unpretentious in terms of the quality of the fuel used and can work on pellets with large quantity ash content. The most popular models are KRP 20A and 50A.

This is achieved due to the presence mechanical cleaning burners. As a result, the following fuel pellets can be used:
The KRP 33 burner device makes necessary after-sales service no more than once every 7-10 days (for other models every 2-3 days), and maintenance takes only a few minutes.

All models of South Korean pellet boilers of the Kiturami brand are equipped with a burner of their own invention with the function of mechanical self-cleaning and soot removal. The burner package includes a control unit and a screw transmission.

Operation features

Pellet stations are delivered to the buyer completely ready for operation. The piping of the boiler room does not require the installation of additional circulation and other equipment, since it is already built into the body of the product. To start operation, it is enough to connect the DHW and heating system to the boiler.

The launch is automatic. Usually the controller already has factory settings. If necessary, you can program your own mode of operation, including the individual preferences of the owners of the house.

One of the essential features of the operation of pellet boilers is the need for periodic cleaning of the heat exchanger, burner and chimney from the accumulated soot.

Pellet boilers are represented on the Russian market by the KRP series. There are only two models in the line: KRP-20A with a capacity of 24 kW and KRP-50A with a capacity of 58 kW. In this article, we will dwell in detail on the younger model from this line. So let's get started.

Design features of the Kiturami boiler of the KRP series

The Kiturami KRP-20A boiler is a double-circuit pellet boiler with a three-way heat exchanger. It is able to heat a room up to 300 m2. In addition to the standard blocks included in each typical pellet boiler, the Kiturami KRP-20A in the Premium package is equipped with additional blocks that facilitate its use and make it more comfortable. Let's take a look at his device:

Photo 2: The principle of operation of the pellet boiler Kiturami
  • Bunker

Like any pellet boiler, KRP-20A is equipped with a hopper. The presence of a bunker is dictated by the need to store a supply of pellets to ensure long burning boiler in offline. The storage holds 150 kg of fuel pellets. Such a supply is enough for 7-8 days in spring and autumn, and for 3-4 days when used in winter period. The height of the bunker is 1.2 m, which makes it comfortable to fill it up without additional devices in the form of ladders, etc.

  • Feed auger

From the bottom of the cone-shaped bunker, fuel pellets are lifted to a height with the help of a rigid auger, from where they then roll down the corrugation into the burner. The dimensions of the screw conveyor make it possible to deliver the pellets as a whole, avoiding their grinding during the delivery process. Smooth and uninterrupted supply is carried out by a reliable electric motor.

  • Turbocyclone flare burner

The boiler is equipped with a flare burner with ceramic heater. After filling the starting dose of fuel pellets, the heater and fan are started and the burner is ignited. The air supply to the pellet bed occurs in a spiral, which allows you to evenly saturate the entire layer of fuel pellets with oxygen, thereby ensuring a high degree of combustion.

  • heat exchanger

The design of the heat exchanger is made in such a way that it allows hot gases to pass through it three times, ensuring maximum heat removal inside the boiler.

  • DHW circuit

The presence of a DHW circuit allows you to organize hot water supply.

  • Burner cleaning drive

The mechanical drive automatically removes caked slag from the burner surface. This process programmed and occurs cyclically during boiler operation.

  • Control block

The presence of a control unit allows you to set the operating modes of the boiler, as well as regulate the process of cleaning the burner and purging the heat exchanger. Availability remote control control allows you to control the operation of the boiler remotely.

Advantages and disadvantages of the KRP-20A boiler

Like any other device, the Kiturami KRP series boiler has its advantages and disadvantages. We will try to highlight the main pros and cons of this device. So, let's begin:

Advantages

The main advantages of this model are:

  • Low price

Low cost is perhaps the main argument in favor of this model. The boiler costs almost 2 times cheaper than European analogues.

  • economy

On average for heating season duration of 7 months, for heating an area of 100 m2, the boiler consumes from 3.5 to 4 tons of pellets. This is a very good indicator among similar power models from other manufacturers.

  • High efficiency

Thanks to design features pellet boiler, the maximum heat removal occurs inside the boiler, as evidenced by low temperature flue gases. The efficiency in this case reaches 92-94%.

  • DHW circuit

The pellet boiler Kiturami KRP-20A is double-circuit. The presence of a hot water circuit allows you to save on a boiler indirect heating or electric boiler. The boiler is capable of producing sanitary hot water temperature of 60 °C in a volume of 9 liters per minute.

  • Fire extinguishing system

At the end of the pellet feed line, at the burner inlet, a temperature sensor is installed to prevent fire. When the temperature exceeds 95 C, the electromagnetic valve opens and the combustion is filled with water from a special reservoir.

  • Large volume of coolant

The volume of coolant in the heat exchanger of the Kiturami pellet boiler is 160 liters. This is about 2 times more than similar models from other manufacturers. Due to the large volume, it is excluded Negative influence cold return to boiler operation. It also allows you to significantly reduce the warm-up time of the entire heating system.

  • Pneumatic cleaning of the heat exchanger

To clean the surface of the heat exchanger from the ash, soot and resins deposited on it, the pellet boiler can be additionally equipped with a compressor. Cleaning is carried out with air under pressure of 8 atmospheres. The frequency of this process is controlled by the control unit. Depending on the ash content of the pellets, the boiler can be cleaned from once a week to once a month.

  • Remote thermostat

The presence of this device allows you to control and manage the operating modes and set the parameters of the pellet boiler while being at a distance from the boiler.

Photo 4: Kiturami pellet burner grate

disadvantages

The disadvantages of Kiturami KRP-20A include:

  • electrical addiction

Like all types of pellet boilers Kiturami KRP-20A is volatile. Power supply is necessary for the operation of the burner fan, auger motor, cleaning compressor, control unit and electric heating element. However, the boiler consumes a small amount of electricity. The largest consumption is created by an electric heating element. In the pellet ignition mode, it consumes about 400 W, but this process takes 1-2 minutes 12 times a day.

  • Slag formation

The use of a flare-type burner and poor quality pellet fuel leads to the formation of so-called slag cakes on the burner grates. They are sintered high temperature pellet particles. This process interferes normal operation pellet boiler and leads to the appearance of soot, an increase in fuel consumption by 20-30%, and consequently to a decrease in efficiency heater. To combat this phenomenon, the Kiturami KRP-20A model includes a block for mechanical cleaning of the grate from caked fuel pellets.

Photo 5: Portable boiler control unit

In addition to the shortcomings listed above, there are small shoals in the quality of the assembly. But this is to be expected from a Korean manufacturer, after all, this is not a European.
