Perch is one of the most popular trophies caught by Russian fishermen. This striped robber is able to peck at almost all year round. And winter is no exception. Moreover, in December it is perch fishing that can give the joy of hooking and catching novice anglers. We will figure out how to catch perch in December, what gear is needed to catch perch from the ice in December, what baits and lures to use.

Where to catch perch in December

Fishing for perch in December is a must for beginner winter anglers for several reasons:

  • first of all, first of all, ice binds shallow water and bays of reservoirs, and it is these areas that perch chooses for hunting and living - small perch settles near coastal vegetation, and large perch should be looked for in dumps;
  • secondly, for catching perch in December, you can use both spinners and balancers, as well as jigs with replanting bait (bloodworm, burdock moth, bacaplav, etc.) or baitless mormyshkas.

However, successful fishing for perch in December will largely depend on the correct tactics for finding this predator. Let's get back to where to look for perch in December. Remember that at this time perch, hunting and chasing fry, in most cases adheres to the border of reed thickets, so it is worth drilling a couple of holes in the windows of this reed. On an unfamiliar body of water, perch fishing in December should begin with drilling holes from coastline deep into the reservoir, having reached depths of 2 meters, boldly turn around and move along the coast. The distance between the drilled holes, when searching for perch in December, can reach 10 meters.

What to catch perch in December

Almost any winter rod is suitable for perch fishing in December. The choice of fishing line will also not be difficult - even a large perch is not a pike and does not tear the line. But the nod should be chosen carefully, given the weight of the bait. When baiting a perch in December, a rather hard nod is suitable, no more than 6 cm, the bending angle of which, under the weight of the baubles, should be about 20-30 degrees.

Tackle, which in December you can catch perch in winter time on the first ice they can be different, but most anglers still prefer lure, since small perch usually bite on mormyshka. And trolling for perch in December gives you a chance to catch a larger specimen. In addition, glitter is effective tool when looking for fish, a perch will notice a lure rather than a small mormyshka.

Despite the fact that perch fishing in December can take place with the use of spinners, balancers and mormyshkas, it is often only on fishing that you can determine what the perch will be in the mood for and what he decides to peck at. Therefore, in the arsenal of the angler there should always be various spinners, balancers and mormyshkas. By the way, it is believed that on the first ice, perch is well caught on vertical lures up to 5 cm, and at shallow depths with the presence of grass or snags, a medium-sized vertical lure will be more successful than a balancer. On the first ice it is good to catch perch on elongated baubles with a single hook.

The tactics of catching perch on a lure is as follows: the lure sinks to the bottom and rises by 5 cm, then a couple of short swings follow with a two-second pause (with a weak bite, the pause can be increased to 15 seconds). Many novice anglers make a small mistake when flashing, increase the swing amplitude, this should not be done, the swing should be no more than 10cm. Using this technique, you can catch in all layers of water, right up to the hole itself. If there are no perch bites, be sure to change the place.

And now let's take a closer look at the methods of catching perch in December on a lure, on a balancer and on a mormyshka.

Fishing for perch in December on a lure

The classic of perch fishing is lure fishing. Holes are drilled at a distance of 10 m from each other. Perch fishing rods are a rod with a reel, a whip 25-30 cm long and a nod made of nipple gum or a nod made of lavsan. A filly can also be used - a fishing rod for winter fishing with a foam or cork handle and a carbon fiber whip, 35-40 cm long without a nod. This option is very easy. All bites are transferred to the hand. On fishing rods for catching perch, a fishing line is wound on a lure, mainly 0.12-0.16, depending on the weight of the lure and the depth of the reservoir. Spinners for perch fishing in December are used small size- 30-50 mm. It is better to start with a search lure - this is a planning lure much bigger size compared to the usual one, which attracts a perch from a greater distance and, when the bait strikes begin, they switch to a simple one, swing the rod up to 20-30 cm, with a pause of several seconds. When the perch is not very active, it is better to use spinners with a hanging threesome, then we increase the pause to 5-8 seconds, because lure, from a classical point of view, is a “swipe-pause”. Lots of wiring options.

Perch fishing in December on balancers

AT recent times Bass fishing is becoming more and more popular. For perch fishing in December, it is better to buy balancers well-known manufacturers size from 20 to 70 mm. Fishing with them is easier than with a lure, because there are not so many wiring options. Basically, catching perch on balancers is a monotonous movement of 20-30 cm, with pauses of up to 8 seconds. When the perch has found itself, you can change the height of the jerk. The balancer, like the lure, attracts fish from a considerable distance, therefore, when searching for perch, holes are drilled in the same way as when fishing with a lure. You need to start fishing from the bottom and catch all the horizons. It is better to catch a large active perch on balancers No. 7 in order to cut off a trifle. Small and inactive perch are caught on smaller balancers.

Fishing for perch in December on a mormyshka

Fishing for perch with mormyshka is no less popular than lure fishing. It is important to know that for perch it is not so much the shape of the mormyshka that is important, but the game with it - jumps with a minimum deviation from the main vertical axis. The bait is finely twitched and lifted from the bottom. On the muddy bottom, the mormyshka is moved a little to stir up the water - this will attract the attention of an adult perch. The less oxygen, the more finicky the fish. The bait practically stands still, or moves slightly. Then there is a chance that fishing for perch on mormyshka in December will end in a catch. For this case, a spherical, spherical, rectangular or cylindrical large mormyshka is chosen, but in horizontal plane it should in no way be longer than 5-7 mm, and do not forget about the copper or brass top.

No matter how the December perch is caught, it is necessary to immediately lower the bait to the same depth where the bite was, because the fish, standing in the hole, escort their brothers who were hooked when playing. And the perch pecks greedily in December. Several dozen fish can be caught from one hole. The main thing is that novice anglers always listen to the advice of experienced ones.

Perch fishing - video

The perch is active throughout the year. But the most reckless fishing for this prickly and striped predator is in winter. This is due to the fact that when fishing for perch from ice in winter, delicate and ultra-sensitive gear is used, and the energetic bites of perch and the schooling nature of the fish make spiny minke whales one of the main objects of winter fishing.

Where and when to catch perch in winter

Throughout the winter, flocks of spiny minke whales can be found in a wide variety of different places. In any case, you need to look for perches on the river. In different periods of winter, they can be concentrated in different places. In warmer periods, flocks of perch should be looked for near the coast, near vegetation, at shallow depths. And with a strong drop in temperature, the search sites must be changed towards deeper parts of the river, where all the fish rolls. In such places in the wilderness is established temperature regime around 4°C.

The most comfortable winter fishing for perch usually occurs at a depth of one to two meters. Therefore, you do not need to lower the bait deeply, which is a plus and eliminates some inconvenience during fishing. The most promising places for perch fishing in winter are:

  • Sandbank with a depth of half a meter to two meters;
  • Any edge from coastal to channel;
  • The border of reeds and clear water;
  • Elevation at the bottom;
  • Places with a change in the composition of the soil;
  • Trees that have fallen into the water.

Sometimes in catching perch in winter, adverse weather conditions can put an end to it - atmospheric pressure surges, strong wind, its direction and even humidity.

It is necessary to go in search of striped humpbacks in calm and clear weather with a stable atmospheric pressure. Usually the best perch bite is in the morning hours, and in the afternoon and evening the activity is much worse. But if there was no bite in the morning and afternoon, then the probability of evening bite is very high. Therefore, in this case, it is definitely not worth rushing to leave the reservoir.

Behavior of perch under ice

In the vast majority of cases, perch live in flocks under water. The smaller the individuals, the larger the flocks. Most often, minke whales the size of a palm stray into flocks of one and a half to two dozen. Moreover, the fighting of some individuals does not scare away the rest at all. Therefore, once on a flock, you can catch it all to the last tail. The larger the striped humpbacks, the smaller the number of the flock. Trophy individuals over 1.5 kg generally keep apart.

Hole Drilling and Spotting Tactics

In the case of perch fishing, you should not underestimate the importance of a high-quality drill, because you will have to drill a lot. Sometimes, when searching for a schooling perch, the number of holes drilled is in the hundreds. The most popular hole drilling technique is the checkerboard pattern. The distance between the holes is a few meters apart. Both in shallow waters and on edges, this option most promisingly covers the fished area. One of the promising options in perch fishing is baiting. In this way, a trifle is attracted and held to the hole, and a perch follows it.

Fishing for perch in winter on a lure

Many anglers are of the opinion that the option of catching perch on a lure is unpromising. However, it must be taken into account that fishing does not tolerate stereotypes and there are days on which it is the spinner that works.

The range of spinners for winter fishing is quite wide. The spinners of the post-Soviet space “carnations”, “bug”, “Ural”, “karasik”, etc. that have gained their popularity over many decades. can be considered eternal. They are successfully used on a par with modern imported Hanski from Nils Master and "Lucky John Scandi". Optimal size spinner is a 3 cm long option.

At the beginning of winter, on the first ice, dark-colored spinners are more promising, and as winter progresses, switch to light options. Sometimes positive result brings a bloodworm or pieces of red thread to the lure. The catchability of spinners is increased by a tee with a drop, a chain and an additional hook.

The most convenient option for lure will be a regular winter fishing rod 50 cm long with a nod. The optimal length of the whip is 30 cm, and it will be better if it has several access rings. Tackle must be equipped with fishing line with a diameter of up to 0.15 mm, and when hunting for trophy perch, it is better to use more reliable option 0.2 mm. Deaf installation of gear is inconvenient, and therefore is used less frequently. The required supply of fishing line on the reel is 10 m. The line must be renewed every year.

Video about catching perch in winter on a lure, youtube:

As in other methods of winter fishing, catching perch on a lure consists in catching a large number holes. In addition, each hole is fished very carefully. First, the lure sinks to the bottom. Then the bait must be raised 2-3 cm from the bottom and played along with a rod with an amplitude of about 10 cm. Thus, the lure gradually rises to the very top of the reservoir, periodically playing along with the same amplitude.

According to the first and last ice when the fish is more active, it is advisable to make strokes of 30-40 cm in size. Moreover, in extreme points games - at the top and bottom - it is promising to make pauses about 5 seconds long. Very often, bites occur precisely on pauses. If after 20-30 lifts there is no result, then it is necessary to move on to another hole.

Bass fishing

Jig fishing for perch is considered more delicate than lure fishing, so the gear here is somewhat more delicate. The tackle is based on a fishing rod up to 25 cm long. The classic fishing rod for mormyshka is the "balalaika". It is comfortable, lightweight and fits perfectly in the hand. The optimal nod is an option 5 cm long and 2-3 mm thick.

When fishing for mormyshka optimal choice fishing line is very important. Some anglers use options with a diameter of 0.15 mm or more, while others prefer a sporty approach to this issue and use a fishing line of about 0.05 mm. Both of these options are not very acceptable in the usual and sensibly conceivable fishing. Great choice in this case there will be an intermediate option - about 0.1 mm. It is necessary to wind about 20 meters of fishing line on one jigsaw tackle.

When choosing a mormyshka, there should be golden mean. A light mormyshka will sink to the bottom for a very long time, and a heavy one will fall catastrophically quickly, hitting the bottom and demonstrating a game that is not interesting for the fish. For a stagnant reservoir, the optimal weight when choosing a mormyshka is considered to be about 0.3 grams.

Tungsten mormyshkas are much more convenient than lead ones - they are smaller in size with the same weight. The color and shape of the mormyshka is absolutely insignificant, and more necessary to please the angler's eye. In any case, the mormyshka should not be empty - two or three bloodworms should be put on the hook. And with a good bite, one is enough.

Very popular in catching perch are miniature vertical mormyshki - devils. The size of such a bait is about 5-7 mm in length and 3-4 mm in diameter.

Technique for catching perch on a mormyshka:

  • After lowering the mormyshka to the bottom, the rod must be raised to a height of up to 30 cm, while making some fluctuations with the bait;
  • After several taps of the mormyshka on the bottom, it is necessary to raise the mormyshka to a small distance of about 5 cm;
  • Raising the mormyshka from the bottom by 20-30 cm and tapping the whip with your finger;
  • Twitching the mormyshka at the very bottom, while using small pauses about 2-3 seconds long.
How to increase the catch of fish?

For 7 years of active passion for fishing, I have found dozens of ways to improve the bite. Here are the most effective ones:

  1. Biting activator. This pheromone supplement is the strongest lure for fish in cold and warm water. .
  2. Raise gear sensitivity. Read the appropriate manuals for the particular type of tackle.
  3. Lures based pheromones.

Balance fishing technique

Catching perch on a balancer is not as popular as the previous method. This is due to the fact that when fishing on a balancer there is a high probability of empty bites - about 20%. Tackle when fishing in this way should be rigid and balanced, preferably with a nod. The coil should be open type - it is easier to control the depth with it. When fishing in this way, catching the hole begins with upper layers and gradually moves to the bottom area. With a passive perch, it is advisable to reduce the amplitude of the game with the rod, and increase the pauses. With an active perch, rod jerks should be performed more aggressively.

Standard size perch balancer is 3-4 cm. Most often, the weight of such baits is 4-6 grams. There is a huge variety color options these artificial baits. Sometimes natural colors work, and sometimes poisonous ones. In the absence of a bite, one tactic is to experiment with bait colors.

Perch prefer poisonous bait colors over natural ones. The most popular perch balancers are Kuusamo Tasapaino and Tasapaino Pro, Lucky John. These world-famous lures can work wonders - they have a smooth action, and when they fall, the baits sway from one side to the other, teasing the spiny minke whales.

Fishing on the balancer begins with lowering it to the bottom. Then, gradually rising, the entire layer of the reservoir is caught. Sometimes, during periods of warming, striped humpbacks stand at the very surface of the reservoir.

When fishing on a balancer, there is a high probability of catching pike, so an appropriate leash against pike teeth will not be superfluous.

The most popular ways to play balancers are:

  1. After lowering the bait to the bottom, it is thrown up by approximately one meter. During its further lowering, a reception is performed with a rod that imitates shaking. Such movements are usually performed from five to ten.
  2. After lowering the bait to the bottom, it is thrown up by approximately 30 cm. After the free fall of the balancer, a pause is made for about 5 seconds. Such movements are usually performed from five to ten.
  3. After lowering the balancer to the bottom, it is lifted with an amplitude of about 20 cm. After each lift, it is necessary to pause for about 5 seconds.
  4. Balancer's game surface layer barely noticeable movements of the rod. In this case, there is a slight play of the bait with the corresponding movements of the lower tee.
  5. After lowering the balancer to the bottom, it is undermined by 40 centimeters and a pause of 5 seconds. After a pause, another detonation of approximately 40 cm is performed and again a pause is made for 5 seconds. After that, the bait back smoothly sinks to the bottom.

Bass fishing

The equipment, which is called a bald, was originally used in sea fishing. Then, having moved to the continent, it was first used by fishermen of Siberian rivers, and then appeared in our area. Moreover, for perch fishing, this equipment is used not only in winter, but also in summer.

At the heart of the tackle is a loop, in the center of which a symmetrical load is put on through the hole, and on the sides of the load there are hooks. Instead of bait, cambric or beads are put on the hooks. The rod for bald fishing should be rigid, and the nod should bend slightly under the action of the equipment.

The principle of operation of the ball is as follows:

  • A vertical swing is made with the rod, as a result of which the equipment is thrown half a meter under water;
  • The equipment falls to the bottom and forms a cloud of turbidity, which attracts perches;
  • A pause is made for a few seconds;
  • Swimming up to the muddy cloud, the perch grabs hooks with cambrics.

Rigging with a bulldozer is convenient because there are no live baits in it, therefore cold winter no need to freeze your hands to equip the hooks. In addition, the rig has a decent weight, so it quickly reaches the bottom, which is a significant advantage compared to jig fishing.

The main secret of this rig's catchability lies in the cloud of turbidity that attracts the spiny minke whales. The more turbidity, the more effective the catch will be. In this cloudy cloud, the perch cannot see the bait well and rushes to the hooks with artificial cambric or beads.

To assemble the equipment, you will need the following components:

  • fishing line with a diameter of 0.2-0.25 mm, about 20 cm long;
  • two hooks with Russian numbering 4 or 5;
  • beads or cambric;
  • a weight in the form of a bullet with a hole at the end.

Red, yellow and green colors beads and cambric are the most promising.

The weight of the load in the equipment depends on the presence of the current and on its strength. For a stagnant reservoir, the weight of the load can reach up to 10 grams, and for a river - sometimes even 25 grams is not enough.

Some anglers add another hook to the rig about half a meter above the load. And sometimes bites can occur only on this additional hook.

Features of winter perch fishing

Whatever gear is used when fishing for perch and at what time fishing is carried out, a huge proportion of success depends on the activity of the angler. Quickly catching holes and searching for perch schools increases the result of perch fishing. Sometimes an angler has to travel miles on ice to get a significant result. But if the parking lot of the prickly whale has already been discovered, then a positive result will not be long in coming.

Some anglers in the process of catching perch feed it with bloodworms. This tactic makes it possible to keep the fish in one place for one or two days.

Winter perch fishing is unpredictable - sometimes you can pull a bag of fish from one hole, and sometimes you can go many kilometers without seeing a single tail.

Fishing in December, first ice

The most long-awaited period of perch fishing in the year by all anglers begins in December, or rather, a week after the reservoir is covered with ice. The period of active perch eating can last from a week to two. At the beginning of winter, it is advisable to look for perch in shallow places from half a meter to two meters, on various bottom hills, on the near edge. The best December weather for perch fishing is the sun, a slight frost and a weak south wind.

Fishing in January and February, wilderness

With the advent of the dead of winter, perch break into flocks of smaller numbers and go to deeper places in the reservoir - distant edges and deep pits. Finding him during this period becomes much more difficult. However, in the dead of winter, the probability of catching large and trophy humpback whales increases significantly.

Many anglers prefer to catch perch with a lure. There are many ways to catch a prickly predator. It can be caught on a mormyshka, on a balancer, on live fish with or without a lure, but most choose a lure. The question "why?" arises. But the answer immediately suggests itself, because it is convenient and effective to catch it on a lure, no less than on any other baits. Many anglers fail to catch perch with mormyshkas due to their lightness.

This creates inconvenience for some, someone does not feel the jig at all, and the lure weighs more, respectively, everyone feels it. But we are not going to find out the reasons why some anglers prefer lures in winter. That is unnecessary. Let's better find out which spinners, where and how best to catch in order to get a good result.

In December, it is good to catch perch on the spinners on the rivers, where there is a decent current. Mormyshkas do not fit at all, they are light and because of this they are constantly blown away by the current. It is not possible to carry out the desired game, it is problematic to recognize a bite. And the lure is not blown away by the current, so it is considered the most promising option when fishing on the river. Well, where to look for perch, you have probably already seen in the previous article. Everything is detailed there. If you haven't seen it, let's recap. A large perch always stands at a depth, in wintering pits, it is called deep perch. Smaller perch lives in coastal zones, where there is a lot of aquatic vegetation, I call such perch coastal. Well, and what to catch, large or small, you decide.

Let's start with what tackle should be when fishing with a lure. In this case, you can not choose the most delicate and sensitive tackle, after all, you are not going to catch a jig. The tackle could be a little rougher. When choosing a fishing rod, you don’t have to bother much, which one is more convenient for you, choose one, it doesn’t matter. Set the gatehouse to medium hardness. A soft gatehouse when fishing with a lure will bend too much, and this is useless. And too hard gatehouse will break the correct balance of the game, so try to pick up the middle between that and that. Put a thin fishing line in all cases, 0.15 millimeters is already the ceiling, don’t put it thicker, otherwise the perch will see your fishing line in the water. the visibility of the line scares away the fish, even though the perch is a predator. If you still catch him in the grass, then there he may not notice your fishing line, even if it is very thick, and even if on clean water, then a thick fishing line is completely unacceptable. The presence of a metal leash is not necessary, the perch, although a predator, but its teeth are not like those of a pike. Yes, he can bite the line, but this happens extremely rarely.

Medium-sized baubles are suitable for catching December perch. Do not take small ones, there are mormyshkas for this case, they will work much better. But the average spinners are the most. The color of the lure that attracts perch in December is white, white-silver, dark, and copper-colored lures have proven themselves very well. The most popular lure now is a light three-hook lure. But notice, three hooks, not a tee. The spinner is made in the form of a rhombus, there is a single hook at the bottom and two single hooks also come out on both sides. The baubles are light on all sides, and there are still the same baubles, which differ only in that one back side is yellowish. These spinners work very well on perch. Special games do not need to be carried out, they lower it to the bottom, hit the bottom and pause, then make an amplitude jerk and pause at the top point. After that, all this is repeated, that is, such a game is carried out, which cannot even be called a game, but it really works. Tested by many experienced anglers.

There is another very catchy spinner. It is narrow and long, slightly expanding closer to the hook. Reminds me of an elongated pear. Her hook is small. Inner side gray, and the outer one is copper-colored and there is a red spot at the very bottom of the hook. The game of this spinner is similar to the game of mormyshka. First, they also hit the bottom with it, they also make an amplitude jerk with a pause, and after that an easy step-type game is performed. These two spinners are very popular when fishing for perch, the striped one takes them very actively and in warm weather, and even in very coldy December. Often they are caught without a nozzle, but if the activity of the bite drops, then you can plant a fish eye on these spinners. In this combination, the perch also loves them.

These are the two main types of spinners, which are the most catchy, but do not forget about others. The zigzag spinner also proved to be quite good. It looks like a zigzag, at the bottom there is a movable small tee with a red border, which resembles a bloodworm. For some reason, not all anglers love this lure, many do not take it seriously, but this is in vain. The perch does not disdain it, often it is this lure that helps out in the absence of a bite. Although, besklevy, as such does not happen. This is what experienced anglers say. The fish always bite, just not everyone manages to choose exactly the bait that can interest the fish. And the fact that the angler returns from fishing without fish and says that today or yesterday was not a good day, the fish did not peck, these are all simple excuses. A real angler will never say that, he will admit defeat and say that he could not catch.

The most active biting perch in December days occurs in the first half of the day, after lunch the striped perch is already satiated. He begins to act up, then he bites on one thing, then on the other, the angler often has to change the spinners in search of a suitable one. In cloudy weather, the perch is active throughout daylight hours, and if it is also sleet, then they are waiting for you big catches. In sunny frosty weather, the striped predator behaves a little worse, but gets into a stupor and the angler has to look for it for a long time. With a northern wind, the activity of fish is reduced to almost zero. There is another weather feature that is worth paying attention to. When the frost subsides, the thermometer rises, the perch becomes active, and when, on the contrary, the frost gets stronger, the activity of the perch fades.

AT last years December does not justify the hopes of anglers for a good perch bite. The reason is weather anomalies, due to which reservoirs are covered with ice only by the end of the month.

As a result, anglers get on the ice closer to the new year, but the activity of the fish at this time noticeably decreases, the so-called dead winter begins.

So it turns out that at the very peak of the bite, which falls on the first month of winter, it is almost impossible to fish. By open water you can’t catch it, because a thin ice crust forms on the reservoirs, and you won’t go on the ice, because it is unreliable.

Perch, of course, such weather is good. With each anomalous winter, the number of striped "robbers" increases, the number of large individuals increases.

In December, the perch is dispersed throughout the reservoir. Therefore, to find it, you need to actively move around the ice and drill a lot of holes.

As a rule, 1-3 mormyshka postings in each hole are enough for the perch to respond. If it doesn't, then you need to move on. Following this tactic, the predator can be detected even in unfamiliar places.

You can catch perch different ways, but the most popular, of course, is fishing with mormyshka, lure and balancer (horizontal lure).

I must say that if the bite is unimportant, then the mormyshka works better than the spinner. There are, of course, adherents of winter spinners who do not agree with such a statement, but the army of jigs is much larger.

Mormyshka with a moth

Not only bloodworms, but also maggots and other insect larvae can serve as bait on the hook.

The scheme of the game is as follows. We lower the mormyshka to the bottom. We make a few light taps on the ground. Next, there is a pause. Just at this moment, a bite often happens.

If it did not happen, we begin a smooth, vertical wiring, with a low oscillation frequency.

We raise the mormyshka half a meter above the bottom, then sharply lower it down. We repeat the wiring several times. The fish can respond at any time, if not, we change the hole.

Headless mormyshka

Catching fish with this bait is more difficult and requires a certain skill. Here great importance has a balanced tackle in general and the correct playing technique.

The meaning of playing with a mormyshka is that it should vibrate at a high frequency, but due to the small amplitude of movements, it should practically remain in place.

That is, when playing tackle, only the six and the first third of the nod should oscillate, and although its tip makes frequent oscillations, it actually remains in place, since the amplitude of movements is very small.

At correct technique games, the rhythm of the oscillations of the nod must be at least 250 movements per minute.

It is important to avoid failures during the game with a mormyshka. Even if the fish is interested in the bait and spins around it, the slightest disturbance in the rhythm of the game can nullify all the efforts of the angler.

Lure fishing

When catching perch on a lure, the playing technique is much simpler than that of a "reelless" one. To a greater extent, here, the quality and play of the lure itself affects the result of fishing, and not the skill of the angler, although, of course, the ability to own tackle is also important.

The game is quite simple: we lower the lure to the bottom (5-10 cm above it), then, with a sharp wave of the fishing rod, we throw it 30-50 cm up. Tilt the rod down, let it fall to its original position. This cycle repeats over and over again.

During a free fall, the spinner plays, making oscillatory movements inherent only to it. From the outside, it looks like a fish scurrying back and forth.

Naturally, the perch cannot look at it indifferently, it rushes after the prey that is trying to elude it, and swallows it.

Fishing on a balancer

Another interesting bait for catching perch is a balancer. This beautiful, artificial fish, equipped with hooks, is loved by many anglers.

In fact, this is the same spinner, only with a horizontal suspension. Due to its design, with a slightly shifted center of gravity, it has a game that is radically different from other lures.

When you lower the balancer into the hole, it starts to go to the side, then, having made a kind of figure eight, it comes back. Such "frills" are able to provoke a predator in earnest.

The fishing technique is the same as for a regular lure; we toss the balancer over the bottom, and let it return to the starting point.

Lures up to 5 cm in size work best on perch, large balancers are used when catching pike. If the emphasis is on fishing with “toothy”, then it is necessary to equip the tackle with a metal leash.

Perch fishing in December, on the first ice, is a holiday for all anglers. Do not miss this moment, prepare gear, and run to the pond, for handsome perches. Good luck!
