The user interface allows the cashier to use a barcode scanner to identify the item and enter it into the receipt. In addition, a manual search for goods is available, which allows you to organize a cashier's workplace in stores with goods that do not have a barcode. Well, for those who are interested, here interesting moments, which we learned while developing this program:

  • Open source is almost dead (or never born) in offline trading. Everything is very proprietary, there are no free programs, specialists sit quietly somewhere in the office and do not go online.
  • Drivers for cash registers are poorly thought out, it is quite difficult to interact with them. Documentation often does not correspond to reality, development is carried out by random.
  • Athol has gone ahead with Pyrite (Wikiprint) both in terms of service quality and software (the documentation there is always up to date).
  • Technical support often works according to a script and simply rejects everyone who calls. Nothing really could be found out.
  • OFD often buggy and freezes.
  • The law is crude, much is unclear. The tax office refuses to advise with the words "you put it, and then we'll figure it out." Therefore, it is unlikely that they will be heavily fined at first.
  • The new cash desks differ from the old ones in only one "detail" - fiscal memory, which is produced by something very corrupt, so there is a shortage of this memory now (but our customers have not yet experienced problems with the purchase).
  • Around marketing. Old cash registers are not wrapped in any kind of wrapper. Although, only the name of the legal entities of the manufacturers and the case with memory have changed. Evotor is Athol and Wikiprint is Pyrite. All designs with tablets look ridiculous and unreliable.
