How to find a job you love. Active job search How and where to look for a job

There is such a pattern - hired work takes about 8 hours a day, and looking for work an hour and a half a day. There are rare cases when people spend 6-8 hours a day on employment, but it is this approach that allows you to find a job in 5-10 days.

Of course, not everyone needs such speed. If you have free time, you can move slowly, calmly and look for a job for months. The matter is voluntary.

This article is about how to find a good job in a short time. The quick job search technology consists of 4 steps.

your desires

What do you dream of or just want to do? To begin with, you need to decide on this - this is the basis for further actions. When answering this question, follow these rules:

  • Distract from your present activity (especially if it does not bring you pleasure or does not meet any conditions)
  • Leave alone your previous experience. After all, it may be that you want to become a teacher, and you have a long work experience in construction. And what then, all my life to work as a builder??
  • Create a very comfortable, cozy environment for yourself. Do you like to spend time in the country? Go there, fire up the stove, sit back, feel free. Or you have a favorite cafe, go there, order a coffee and remember what you like to do.

Naturally, all the ideas that come to mind should be written down. You can also remember, but it’s better to write it down - so nothing will be forgotten or distorted for sure.

specifics

The ideas received from your consciousness and subconsciousness need to be turned into reality. That is, set goals.

If you want to help children, then this is not necessarily a job in a kindergarten. It can be the organization of holidays and the invention of educational games and medicine and the construction of playgrounds and ... There can be a thousand such options. You need to choose 1-2 of the most interesting and enjoyable of all that you see.

To do this, look at job sites, read newspapers, talk with your friends (or strangers). In this case, you need information from those people who have already done this. Then find out how at least roughly in the labor market the activity you have chosen is called.

The labor market often thinks in terms of certain clichés. Nobody is called engineers, marketers, programmers. But in each organization, these specialists do different things! Few jobs are the same.

When you have decided on the approximate name of your specialty, select companies that work in this area. By researching companies, you'll learn a lot about what you want to do and what's going on in the industry right now. If you see that there is little information on the site about the company's services, do not be lazy, call the manager in the sales department, ask him about the company's services. Communicate, learn, explore.

Choosing companies is one of the most important steps! At this stage, a clear goal of employment is formed. It is a clear and specific goal that helps to quickly find a job.

Training

Specialization is selected, companies that deserve you are also selected. Now we need to prepare for a future meeting and negotiations with the leaders of these companies.

Well, to business!

  • A compelling and attractive resume. I previously wrote about how to write a good resume. Once again in a nutshell: structured, in simple and understandable words, clearly and, preferably, on one sheet of A4.
  • A well-written cover letter.
  • Thoughtful appearance. This handyman or taxi driver can come to an interview without thinking about the first impression, and you, I hope, have a different opinion about yourself.
  • Responsibility. First of all, punctuality! Be on time and keep your word.
  • Positivity and attitude to success. Are you on the phone with a company representative? Smile! Came to the interview, look more often in the eyes, again smile and glow from the inside. Positive people are remembered.

Active actions

You have a vision of the specialty, a list of companies where you want to work and you are ready to search for a job. We must act and be persistent.

I want to mention one point right away, the search for vacancies is a maximum of 20% of the result that you can get. That is why the article is titled active job search that the emphasis is on your initiative, and not on how many open vacancies are currently on the market. Moreover, there may not be any vacancies at all.

  • Call the company and meet with the head of the desired department or HR manager
  • Submit your resume there. Sending a resume to a specific person (in the letter you need to call him by name) gives you a higher chance of success
  • After sending your resume, be sure to call the company and find out if they have received the letter.
  • Gently ask when it will be convenient to call and talk in more detail
  • Thank the person on the other end of the line and record the next date of contact in the diary.

Do you know what this method of action gives?

You will be remembered! And this is already half the battle.

Negotiation

Jean-Louis-Ernest Meissonier, The Game of Chess, 1841.

If before the interview the task was to arrange a meeting, then at the interview the task is to convince the manager that the company will need you and will be successful at work.

There are many books, articles, tips and trainings about how to negotiate. I wrote an article on how to prepare for an interview. Here I will give only 2 negotiation tips: show the boss a desire to work in this particular company and convince him that you will be successful and worth the requested salary. Persuade management, "sell" yourself, bargain.

Warning

My job search method does not answer the question "How to look for a job?". This method does not guarantee 100% success. This method gives self-confidence and allows you to find “the very job” (and maybe business partners or startups - who knows how things will turn out in the negotiations).

I assume that in 1 out of 7 companies you will find a job. But different arrangements are possible.

The Internet is becoming a necessary option for job search, more than 80% of job seekers use Internet resources. Probably, the remaining 20% of job seekers are wondering: is it worth looking there and, most importantly, how to look for a job via the Internet?

What do you need to know in order to find the right one among the variety of vacancies posted on the Internet?

1. It is important to know where to look for jobs online

It is hardly possible to find a job through the Internet if you do not have the slightest idea where to look for it.

You can start with aggregate sites such as:

  • RABOTA.RU,
  • hh.ru,
  • job.ru,
  • avito.ru.

On each site, including the sites listed above, there is a Search - this is a search box in which you can enter a query and press Enter, after which the search results on the site for the query will be presented.

Search box on the site RABOTA.ru to search for vacancies

By writing the desired position in the search box on the site, you will receive many positions, perhaps even more than you can handle. By clicking on the “advanced search” option, you can narrow down your search using various filters (salary, field of activity, etc.).

Such sites already have a ready-made resume form, which the applicant needs to fill out and send the resume to the employer in one click.

If you're looking for a job in an industry you're already familiar with, you may not want to go to aggregate job search sites at first. It is better to immediately go to the sites of large companies working in this area. On the websites of almost every company there is a section “Career” or “Vacancies”, where the employer posts available vacancies, and also leaves a contact phone number and an email box to which you can send your resume.

2. Don't get hung up on a specific position

You consider yourself an excellent clerk, but good work may be hidden under a different name, for example, a service department specialist, executive assistant or personal assistant, secretary, administrative manager, etc.

You need to learn in detail the functionality and what skills are needed to get the position that interests you.

3. Show professionalism already at the search stage

If you found a job ad on the Internet, and not in a local newspaper, this already indicates that you have a little bit of a computer.

It is important to write a resume correctly and completely eliminate the presence of typos and. It will also confirm the level of your computer literacy.

It is advisable to send a resume in, this format is guaranteed to be read on a computer with any software. After all, if a potential employer cannot open your resume, he will probably just delete it. Or a file with an unusual extension will automatically end up in a folder where no one will find it.

4. It is important to clearly track all your applications

It is better to always keep records or printouts of the companies (position, contact numbers, brief information about the company's activities) to which the resume was sent.

Firstly, it will exclude re-applying to the same company.

Secondly, if your potential employer unexpectedly calls, you can easily find out who you are talking to by asking only the name of the company.

5. We are looking for work on the Internet, but we live in the real world

Do not apply for a job if you are not sure that you have the skills necessary for it. Employers are able to test the competence of hired employees in various ways.

Job search is a kind of competition where we strive to be the best and get more than the rest. Finding a good job is success, to find a bad job is temporary and only so as not to die of hunger. What is good and what is bad? I will not answer these questions for you, but I will try to tell you how to find your ideal.

To understand how to find a good job, you need to understand what is good for you now. It is important that the work suits you and takes into account the characteristics of your character, your current needs and state of mind. To understand this, you need to understand what is in the first place for you now. What is more important, and what can be sacrificed?

Money

An important criterion, but not the leading one. To earn a lot, you need to be productive and quite often you need to sacrifice a lot - free time, nerves, health, and sometimes even your comfort. But earning average money is easy.

Before looking for a job, it is desirable to highlight 3 levels of earnings:

  • Minimum. Below this level, you will never go to work anywhere.
  • Optimal. This is the level of your comfort and some freedom. Most people find work around this income level.
  • Challenge yourself. Don't screw up the income figure, but set a level of self-pride for yourself ("I did it!"). If you need a challenge to yourself, take yourself on an adventure.

I still repeat, money is not the key criterion. There are almost always criteria for choosing a job that are much more significant.

Career

The need is not very frequent, because. few careerists. They are as rare as the Ussuri tigers. Here the question is no longer about money, but about positions, the level of the company, powers, a business card, hanging out among important people ...

Try to describe yourself in 2-3 years. Make this description a story - what you do, what kind of office you have, who you communicate with, how you get to work, what kind of boss you have, what kind of colleagues, are there any subordinates, etc. Describe everything.

After that, see if this description contains words about the status and prestige of your job or company. If not, then career growth is not important to you now. If there is, you will understand what you want.

Professional growth

Quite a common need. Everything is connected with the fact that people want to be good specialists and do not want to get a hat. The second critical point is that bad specialists are paid little, they are poorly hired and fired well. That is why professional growth is so important. Especially at the very beginning of your career.

However, difficulties arise when you are already doing your job well. Where then to grow? Are there interesting tasks on this planet for you? There probably is, but how do you find them? Where to find a good job that will give you interesting, responsible and challenging tasks?

To find interesting and complex tasks, it is not enough to view vacancies. You also need to study companies, see what they do, go to interviews more often just like that, communicate with colleagues in the shop, attend specialized conferences and communicate there. In my opinion, the task is difficult only because the necessary information is difficult to find, and not all people are so sociable to communicate everywhere and with everyone. But if you want to quickly find a good job, you will have to communicate everywhere and with everyone.

Stability and working conditions

The most common requirement of all. According to Good working conditions, paid vacation and sick leave, an adequate boss, a good team, a convenient location, a good salary, stable payments ... When describing these parameters, be specific.

However, it should be remembered that the employer seeks to save on these people. Make normal working conditions and low wages. It works because as soon as a person gets into greenhouse conditions and a good team, it’s already a shame to leave. I personally experienced these feelings and worked an extra year at a job that I had to leave. Retention techniques work great.

In a word, you have to pay for stability. Write down your requirements for future work and think about what you are willing to pay for stability? Low salary, boring everyday life, no promotions - will you agree to all this for the sake of a stable future?

How to find the ideal of your work (method)

I know and can give one workable advice on how to find a good job. This is not even advice, but a “dream job” exercise.

Try to describe your dream job. Make this description a story. It can be done in the form of a description of the working day. So you woke up and your perfect working day began. How does it look to you?

Describe everything. Do you work at the office or at home, how do you get to work, in which country, city and company do you work. You can do without names and exact places. What does your workplace look like (table, cabin, car…)? Describe your team and yourself in it. Tell us about your boss and your relationship with him. Do you have subordinates? How do you have lunch, who is with you at dinner?

Describe in detail the things you do. What kind of projects, what is your role, level of responsibility.

Describe whatever comes to mind. Little things don't happen here.

What to do with the resulting description?

The description of the ideal job should be liked. This is the main thing. If you like it, look for a job in a convenient option for yourself. In the process of finding a job, constantly check with your ideal (as with a compass) and act.

The goal is more important than the action.

If you clearly understand where you are going, your chances of reaching are very high. If the goal is not clear, then the speed of movement is not important. Therefore, start with the main thing.

Hello, friends.

Do you mind the topic of finding a good job? Even if now you are not thinking about how to find a job, and why look for it, if you already hold some position, then my advice will not be superfluous.

The topic of job search remains relevant always and for almost everyone. You never know what circumstances a person will have to face tomorrow: the salary may cease to suit, the management may change, the process of reorganization or liquidation of the company may begin.

A certain stock of knowledge on job search must be in any case. It will help, firstly, not to fall into despair, secondly, to coordinate actions correctly, and thirdly, to avoid the problems that are typical for everyone who has been taken by surprise by unemployment. That is - unprepared for the search.

The main mistakes of applicants

Before publishing all the ways to quickly find a good job, I propose to conduct a brief analysis of the most common mistakes that candidates make for the position. The mistakes are so obvious and gross, but, nevertheless, applicants do not notice them either in their behavior at the interview, or in their attitude to the problem of finding a job. As a result, they receive refusal, stress, resentment at the failed employer and the whole world, isolation in themselves, unwillingness to act, and depression.

To find a job, you need to work on yourself, honestly and objectively recognizing your own jambs. Among them:

  • overestimation or underestimation of yourself and your abilities (if you are a talented director, this is not a reason to get a job as the head of the sales department - this is not your place with all your talent, and you should not take the job of a cleaner out of desperation if you graduated from the Faculty of Economics with honors) ;
  • a carelessly written resume - an incomplete, unstructured, misprinted self-presentation is unlikely to interest the employer;
  • inability to find contact with the employer;
  • untidy appearance;
  • improperly selected wardrobe;
  • wrong line of conduct at the interview;
  • banal ignorance of where to look for work.

A few words on the last point: it is surprising when people are indignant that they cannot find a normal job, while they themselves have not visited a specialized website or bought a newspaper with ads. To the question: “Where are you looking?”, They answer vaguely, something like this: “Here and there”, “I asked around with friends”, “I read the ads on the poles”.

What to say about this? Friends can recommend you if they have a suitable vacancy in mind for you, and you should not look for information on poles and bulletin boards - not a single reputable company places ads there.

An honest list for myself

Before you start studying ads, evaluate all your abilities, skills and experience very critically, make a list in which you can honestly describe:

  • own strengths and weaknesses;
  • knowledge and skills;
  • professions that interest you, in which it is possible to implement these skills.

Now group all ads that are worthy of your attention according to the following criteria:

  • salary level;
  • benefit (presence of a social package, etc.);
  • convenience of office location (in relation to your place of residence);
  • number of requirements and responsibilities;
  • vacancies that are of most interest to you.

The fact that self-presentation should not be too voluminous and too implausible, but should be well-written and structured, I already said in one of.

But there are still some nuances of submitting a resume that are not known to everyone, or not everyone considers it necessary to adhere to them.

  1. Do not send a "hot" resume - that is, immediately after writing. Leave it for two days and then read. I am sure you will find something to correct and rewrite there.
  2. Do not exaggerate your achievements in previous jobs too much. Deception is always noticeable. Well, or it will open as soon as you start working.
  3. Employers prefer a resume with a photo, they trust him more, or something.
  4. Self-presentation should be concise and not too voluminous - fit on an A4 sheet.

Where to look for a job?

There are several options, and I would advise you to choose two or three of them.

And job search by acquaintance, and search on sites, and search in newspaper ads give a choice of interesting vacancies and a positive result.

  1. Special Internet resources.
  2. Print mass-media.
  3. recruitment agencies.
  4. circle of friends and acquaintances.
  5. Direct contact with the company.
  6. Employment center.

Each method has its pros and cons, but each is worth a try. If you are not lucky in one, then in the other there will certainly be a suitable vacancy for you.

By the way, do not look for “something”, “any” job - aim only at the one you understand, which is interesting to you and will not be a burden. And do not hesitate to voice your wishes, otherwise the future employer will evaluate you as an unpromising employee who himself does not know what he wants, or who does not care how and where to work. And this will not work in your favor.

job search sites

On the resource pages, you can find jobs in any specialty - from a handyman to a manager of a senior level. Each of the vacancies has a detailed description, the requirements for applicants are provided clearly point by point, some employers provide salary information.

In addition, this is a popular way of passive job search - the applicant only needs to register and send out a resume to all companies of interest to him. If there is no experience in compiling a self-presentation, the site admins will help by providing a resume template.

  • headhunter;
  • super job;
  • salary;
  • Avito.

Benefits of this job search method:

  • a huge number of vacancies;
  • the possibility of a wide geographical choice;
  • saving time.

Disadvantages:

  • the impossibility of making an impression about the company-employer;
  • the risk of running into scammers.

Print mass-media

Usually newspapers publish vacancies for one city or region. But among them you can find the position you are interested in. There are especially many offers of non-prestigious, unskilled and low-paid work in newspaper ads.

You can also find offers for accountants and lawyers. And almost never announce the replacement of vacancies for managers.

Benefits of newspaper ads:

  • availability;
  • a great option for an additional way to find a job.

Disadvantages:

  • rapid loss of relevance of ads;
  • the need to constantly buy a fresh issue of the newspaper;
  • the predominance of offers of working specialties.

This method is good for a comprehensive job search, as well as for those who plan to find a job without education.

recruiting agencies

Here you can count on the selection of suitable vacancies with high pay. But you can contact the agency only if you are one hundred percent sure of your competitiveness.

Are you really a highly qualified specialist with a certain work experience and will be able to interest a potential employer more than other applicants? Then this is your chance.

Advantages:

  • a real opportunity to find a good well-paid job;
  • assistance of agency employees in the preparation of resumes.

Disadvantages:

  • for the services provided by the agency, the applicant needs to pay;
  • requirement from the applicant of a very high professional level.

Job search through friends

Effective only if one of your friends has the opportunity to put in a good word for you in front of their superiors. Well, or if he himself is the boss.

Advantages:

  • correspondence acquaintance with the employer, the opportunity to find out his requirements and character even before the interview;
  • recommendations;
  • creation of conditions for professional growth.

Disadvantages:

  • the emergence of dependence on a friend who recommended you;
  • prejudice on the part of the team.

Direct job search

You can’t imagine a simpler scheme - call or go to the company, ask about vacancies and offer your services. But only a cleaning lady can be accepted like that, and even then - not always.

Reputable organizations recruit employees in other ways (through agencies, for example) and a person offering his services so easily must be completely confident in his abilities and interest the employer at the first meeting.

Advantages:

  • personal communication with the employer;

Disadvantages:

  • lack of open vacancies;
  • the risk of distrusting the leader.

Job search through the employment center

Not only an officially unemployed person, but also a person who is employed and employed on a part-time job can get acquainted with the catalogs of vacancies in his city or region through the employment center, and. Another thing is that as long as there is work, you can’t lure any of us into the employment center with a roll. Yes, and after the loss of a job, they are reluctantly registered in the central lock.

This fact can be justified by the fact that bureaucracy is inherent in domestic employment centers, and you are unlikely to be offered a dream job here.

But the CZ has one indisputable advantage - here you can apply for a subsidy for self-employment, and. And you no longer need to rack your brains about how to find a good job without work experience, you yourself already receive the status of an employer and put forward your requirements to applicants.

Advantages:

  • the possibility of receiving unemployment benefits.

Disadvantages:

  • collection of a package of documents;
  • periodic visits to the EC on the appointed day and time;
  • lack of suitable offers.

How to find a job for a beginner

The approach to the search for “young professionals, preferably with work experience” surprises and alarms me somewhat. And you, friends? How can you demand experience from a young, freshly graduated person? I do not understand. However, advertisements from employers only with such a requirement are found. You need experience - and that's it.

But if it is not there, you need to look for those companies where this requirement is not important:

  • contact the recruitment service for large companies - intensively developing enterprises hire young professionals without experience in order to “educate” an employee for the needs of the company and according to their own rules;
  • get a job with a trial period, the salary will not be very low, but in your case, the main thing is experience;
  • for some time work in a specialty from a related field that does not require a link to a diploma - provide yourself with the required experience and after a while seek the desired vacancy.

Now many university graduates are solving the problem of how to find a job for a novice specialist, and almost no one uses the enthusiasm and energy inherent in youth to counterbalance the experience of older workers.

How to find a job for a woman

Women are less in demand in the labor market than men. And neither experience nor education matters - if a man and a woman apply for the same position, then the employer is likely to give preference to a man.

Gender inequality lives on and will live for a long time to come, and a woman, meanwhile, has no time to wait for mercy from her employer, she needs to provide for her family. By the way, young women are often denied employment because of their natural need to create a family and have children. And if you ask any of them how to find a job for a woman with a child, you can hear a lot of sad stories. Employers are not at all happy with the frequent sick leave, forced lateness of employees due to childhood whims or a cold, and the fact that they ask for leave early in order to be in time for kindergarten.

But if you, being at least a mother of many children, establish yourself as a highly qualified specialist, a competent interlocutor, an emotionally restrained business person, then you may well count on getting the desired vacancy.

To make a favorable impression on the employer, improve yourself, do not lose yourself among diapers and undershirts:

  • attend refresher courses;
  • follow the news in your field of activity;
  • do not refuse part-time jobs in your specialty, even on maternity leave;
  • position yourself as a competent specialist;
  • send your resume to all employers you are interested in;
  • look for job opportunities online.

And - most importantly - determine the degree of readiness to go to work after maternity leave. Is there anyone to leave the child with, how far is it to get to work, will you miss the baby and be distracted by calls home all the time?

How to find a job for a pensioner

With low pension levels, many of the elderly, instead of enjoying a well-deserved rest, are forced, along with the young, to search for a suitable job.

But how can a pensioner find a job if employers have aged workers who do not want to hire them. The most common reasons for refusals are advanced years and a possible bunch of diseases, the futility of an elderly employee, old-fashioned work and difficulties with the perception of innovations and new information.

In order to be guaranteed a job, a retired age applicant should consider the following options:

  • simple work (watchman, concierge);
  • returning to the organization where they worked before, part-time;
  • tutoring if you are a teacher.

If you are looking for a job from scratch, do not cheat by hiding your real age and the reason for looking for a job - there are understanding and loyal people among employers. Here I also want to note that many people at the age that they have mastered a computer can.

How to find a job as a student

We are talking about a full-fledged job, and not about a side job with a “hot dog” with prospectuses. Approximately from the third year, most students are looking for a job option that can be combined with their studies. And if you succeed, then by the end of the university, in addition to a diploma, you also get the experience that employers love to demand from young people.

How to find a job as a student , if they are taken on staff with great reluctance? Do not rush to the office if there is an opportunity to prove yourself as. And the earnings of free professionals can exceed the rate of a regular unit.

Start a career as a part-time employee and earn trust and respect, as well as promotion through the ranks.

work at home

There are a huge number of similar offers on the network. They invite you to type text, and collect ballpoint pens, and dizzying. Many people believe in him. With full responsibility I advise: do not believe. Millions are not paid for unskilled labor, perhaps they will not even be paid at all.

But there are scammers among the so-called employers with very solid vacancies: manager, manager, assistant manager.

How to find a job at home without fraud is one of the pressing questions of desperate job seekers.

Analyze the proposal, find pitfalls in it: the agent requires the applicant to pay in advance for the service or consumables, or slips a contract of dubious content to sign, or hides information about the employer.

Watch the agent's behavior very carefully, and remember that it is not you who should pay, but you.

And you can also do the work with the help of an intermediary guarantor who can guarantee payment if you complete your work according to all the requirements of the customer and on time. A striking example of such a guarantor is.

Conclusion and Conclusions

Have you ever wondered why it is so difficult to find a job for people who do not bother themselves with anything at all. I'm not talking about improving professional skills and expanding opportunities, there is such a category - couch applicants. He sent out a resume and lies on the couch, waiting for an answer.

It is possible that it will not wait.

To help yourself in finding a good job, you need to follow some rules:

  • constantly increase your professional potential (learn foreign languages, master related specialties);
  • use all job search options - from ads on websites to calls to company representatives;
  • carefully prepare for the interview, thinking over not only each answer to possible questions, but also your appearance.

At the end of the article I will say a familiar phrase to the point of banality: water does not flow under a lying stone. Finding a job requires effort, and when talking to a potential employer, it's important not just to look confident, but to be so. And don't be afraid to take responsibility for your future.

I wish you success in this.

Sincerely, Sergey Ivanisov.

Good afternoon friends!

Elena Nikitina is in touch, and today we’ll talk about how to get a job - dreams and realities, basic and additional, for schoolchildren and pensioners - for every taste.

If you have no experience at all, then you have the main thing - youth, strength and enthusiasm, which helps to move mountains. Believe in yourself and read below.

schoolboy

According to the legislation of the Russian Federation, citizens can work from the age of 14. True, with the consent of parents and guardianship authorities and no more than 2 hours a day in their free time from school. But even within these reasonable limits, there is room for choice.

The easiest way to find a job is through the local employment service: as a rule, information about earnings during the summer holidays is posted there in the spring. Most often, these are works on the improvement of a city or other territory. When I worked as a teacher in a boarding school, my children washed their native school, painted the walls with safe water-based paint, and for this they received money and the first entries in the work book.

In addition, you can search for jobs in newspapers and on the Internet. The following are the most popular:

  • promoter,
  • ad poster,
  • newspaper peddler,
  • extras actor (relevant in large cities).

In Nizhny Novgorod, young people they knew found a part-time job on the information board of a shopping center. The guys in the strictly allotted time for 2 hours a day handed out leaflets, paid them without cheating.

The most important thing is to know about the integrity of the employer. An honest organization concludes an employment contract. If this is not provided, ask your acquaintances and friends: perhaps one of them has already cooperated with the company and can vouch for it.

It is much more difficult to get a job in a small town, and such vacancies simply do not exist. However, the following options are possible:

  • look for a job for the summer in a children's camp. Sometimes the administration is ready to hire a cleaner, a kitchen assistant from among minors;
  • find a remote job. We have already written about.

From the age of 16, daily working hours increase to 4 hours on school days and up to 7 hours on holidays. Therefore, employers are more willing to take young people on the staff.

Those who want to work hard can knock on fast food chains like McDonald's. Information about vacancies is located directly in the cafe, the questionnaire can be filled out there or on the website.

student

If you are reading this paragraph, it means that you are already thinking about looking for a job. And they did it right! The more experience you have by the end of the university, the more interesting you are for the employer. Let's just agree: we will leave shifts at McDonald's at best for the first year, unless you are planning a career in this company.

Gone are the days when future economists and philologists spent their summers on train crews and washed theater stages in winter (this is a description of my and my classmates' experience in the early 2000s). Today, there are fewer and fewer students in the railroad and other low-skilled jobs: young people prefer to build a career from an early age.

Therefore, we set goals, priorities and follow the call of the labor market. So, we are looking for a job that is as consonant with the future as possible, but not to the detriment of the present. We focus on the development of the necessary qualities and the possibility of combining with studies. Recommendations are as follows:

  1. If you need communication skills with a client, conflict resolution, sales, you can consider the positions: promoter, waiter, call center operator, manager. Often you can choose a convenient working time, and in some organizations career growth is provided.
  2. Experience in working with children, acting and organizational skills are being pumped in the field of animation, quests, game rooms. Employment is usually in the evenings or weekends. In the summer, go as a counselor to the camp, including the sea. Dreaming of becoming a teacher? Go to your own school - if you are not given a part-time job, then they may well be allowed to conduct lessons free of charge.
  3. Administrative work can be started in the trade union committee, at the department or in the selection committee. Always make an appointment to attend classes. The salary will be lower than the market, but you will be aware of all university events and get good recommendations.
  4. If you dream of working in a promising company, start with an internship. Do not be lazy to walk around and propose your candidacy yourself. Active and conscientious students are noticed by the authorities and attracted to the staff.
  5. Correspondence students can really get a job according to the TC - they will also pay for the sessions. Until you have decided on a job, go to the employment service: you will be offered several reliable vacancies, and if you do not fit, they will be registered.

Graduate

Have you received a diploma of education, and in the requirements for vacancies in your specialty, work experience is indicated everywhere? Don't worry, the situation is not hopeless. Experienced staff advise:

  1. Often in a job description, some items are rather desirable. So feel free to send your resume. Honestly indicate that you have no experience, but be sure to mention about an internship or internship on a similar topic. Describe your business qualities - perhaps they will help you make a choice in your favor.
  2. Clarify for yourself all the possible options for professions. What position are you ready to work in and which one is definitely not suitable for you? Do not be lazy to make inquiries with your acquaintances - perhaps what seems tempting to you is actually not very attractive from the inside, and what scares you is not so scary.
  3. If there is an opportunity to take a position a step lower than desired, do not be afraid to choose this option. At the same time, specify the prospects for career growth in the enterprise.
  4. Look for information about internships in areas that interest you. Usually announcements about this are published on the Internet on thematic resources (at the end of the article you will find a useful list), but you can also look at company websites.
  5. At the interview, show your willingness to learn and confidence in your abilities. My boss refused to work for a serious woman just because she kept saying during the conversation: “Something I'm afraid to work in such a responsible position!”
  6. It is better to start looking for a job immediately after receiving a diploma, without putting it off until the fall. Otherwise, while you relax by the sea, your place will be taken by more agile classmates.

If you need a job urgently

Sometimes you need to make money fast. Options for a simple and short side job:

  • courier (some companies consider “conscripts”);
  • outsourcing company (they accept everyone, pay out after several shifts, schedule to choose from);
  • extras actor (viewer in the hall);
  • shift work (beware of scams).

For pregnant

It is not easy for a woman in a position to get settled. Not only is work not immediately found, but the tummy is growing - it's about to give out. Well, if the state of health allows you to go to interviews. Otherwise, you will have to wait for a more favorable moment, carefully considering the masking wardrobe.

The main goal now is to find an organization that will provide for the baby up to one and a half years. It can be both a state and a commercial structure, if they are ready to take you officially.

Of course, it is better to notify the boss after employment. It is unlikely that he will be happy for you, but the family is more important than the opinion of the leader.

As soon as you find out about the pregnancy, immediately order yourself a certificate of no criminal record. It is likely that there will not be a good job and you will have to go as a nanny to a kindergarten or a similar institution. This document will come in handy there.

Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for a woman in a position to be forced to quit of her own free will. Therefore, if you are not sure that you have enough strength to resist pressure from above, choose a company carefully. Perhaps you should choose a less profitable, but more reliable job. Seek advice from the employment service.

Night shifts and other harmful factors are now undesirable. But in extreme cases, you will have to agree to this: perhaps later you will be able to agree on a schedule with the team.

Remember that the convulsive thought “I want a job at any cost” should not betray you. Try to interest the employer in personal and business qualities. This will make it easier for you to go on maternity leave later.

Woman after the decree

Often, after leaving parental leave, a woman has to change jobs. It is much more difficult for her to get settled than for a girl without children. Although the opposite is also observed: often the employer is afraid of candidates of childbearing age, especially married ones. It is believed that as soon as they catch on to a place, they will immediately gather on a decree.

Mom needs stability, she is not inclined to quit, and this is her plus. And, although the employer is afraid of frequent sick leave, employment is possible.

The most important thing when compiling a resume is to indicate that there is someone to look after the child. If you live close to work, do not forget to report this as well - this is a significant plus for the employer.

And, of course, while on maternity leave, continue to improve your professional skills if possible (or acquire new ones if you can’t return to your previous activities). Evidence from courses and trainings is the best evidence of your professional competence and desire to develop.

Whatever Polina worked for while she had a little daughter! And a seller in a mini-market with a tough schedule (the girl was with her grandmother), and a nanny in the kindergarten, when it came time to socialize the baby. But Polina's soul has always asked for creativity. Once she went to the well-known factory of Christmas decorations Ariel far beyond the borders of Russia, completed a test task and got a job as an artist. A flexible schedule allowed me to manage to take and pick up the child from the kindergarten.

Work for pensioners

In modern Russian realities, rarely anyone can afford to leave the workplace on the day of the anniversary. Most often, people are forced to continue working by need, but there are other reasons:

  • desire to remain useful to society;
  • the need to do what they love (many teachers do not go on a well-deserved vacation without leaving the class);
  • loneliness, boredom at home.

According to the experience of my friends, a pensioner is hired much more willingly than people of pre-retirement age. Candidates of age are taken to enterprises where there is no career growth, high wages, frequent business trips, and new technologies. According to statistics, every fourth company in Russia is ready to hire a pensioner.

In most cases, these are pedagogy, housing and communal services, security organizations, culture and art (cloakroom attendants and cashiers in provincial theaters).

The strengths of this age group are:

  • old school - responsibility, diligence;
  • desire to stay in the workplace;
  • rich life experience.

Pensioners successfully realize themselves in creative professions (tutor, group leader, guide), in areas related to their considerable experience (sale of flowers, seeds, needlework). You can advise home or remote work, search for orders via the Internet, self-employment.

Employment of citizens with a criminal record

There are industries where citizens with a criminal record are not allowed to enter. These are the court and the prosecutor's office, military service, pedagogy, banking and some others. A certificate of non-conviction here is requested from the applicant without fail. But other organizations are in no hurry to accept a person “with a past”.

The situation is complicated by the fact that some employers have access to the database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It is not difficult for them to calculate a previously convicted candidate, even if the questionnaire indicates the opposite. According to the law, such a questionnaire discriminates against citizens, therefore it is unlawful to dismiss an employee for false data in it. But in practice, everything happens differently. All this significantly limits the human right to free labor.

In this situation, experts advise:

  1. Contact the local employment center or the social adaptation center for persons released from places of deprivation of liberty for legal and informational support.
  2. Try to clear the conviction. This right is established by law. You will need a certificate from the police and a reference from the place of residence.
  3. Search for any available earnings with the help of friends.
  4. Open an individual entrepreneur (taxi, making photocopies).
  5. Or consider remote work.

For a second job

If there is a need for a part-time job or you want to spend your free time usefully, a second job can be very useful.

Compared to a part-time job in the usual place, it even has a number of advantages:

  • fresh energy of a new occupation;
  • additional acquaintances;
  • the ability to combine work and hobbies (maintaining a circle of interests).

The most important thing when looking for a second job is to combine it not only with the first, but also with free time, otherwise there will be no strength left at all. However, as practice shows, not having time to live is more of a fear than a reality. As soon as any additional load appears, an organized person redistributes time, changes the pace and rhythm of life, and, most valuable, finds thousands of activities to sacrifice. For example, watching TV and long telephone conversations.

Marta in the recent past combined a 1/3 schedule in one place with a 2/2 employment in another. At the same time, she managed (although not always) to go to yoga, to English, in her free time to “dabble” in Italian, once a month to earn extra money on quizzes (intellectual team games) and even occasionally go to the sea, asking all the bosses at once.

With a good income

Most people are interested in high paying jobs. Nevertheless, a significant part of the population does not go in this direction to the end. For various reasons, we are forced to accept compromises.

How do you find a good job anyway?

  1. First of all, set yourself a goal. Determine your desired income level and do not lower the bar.
  2. Decide that you will definitely achieve your goal.
  3. Please note that this will take time. Calculate how long you are willing to wait without much damage to your wallet and nerves.
  4. Think about what specialty could provide you with the required salary. What would you like to, could and definitely did not do?
  5. What are you willing to do for a high salary? Will you be able to spend more time on the road, travel frequently on business trips, or even change your place of residence? It is also useful to evaluate moral aspects: some job responsibilities may run counter to your character and life principles.

High paying jobs are different. It can be both hard work in the North, and office pastime in the capital. If your goal involves not only big money, but also high social status, the tips are as follows:

  1. A decent salary awaits a worthy candidate. Your self-confidence should show through not only between the lines of your resume, but also in your entire appearance. So work on yourself. Improve self-esteem, qualifications, experience and business qualities.
  2. Create an attractive resume. Do not be lazy to resort to the help of a professional and do not skimp on it. And if you want to become a personal assistant to the head, we have already prepared for you.
  3. Send out the questionnaire to attractive companies. Try to show each of them your usefulness.
  4. Along with this, respond to vacancies from sites - preferably the most delicious ones.
  5. At the same time, upgrade your skills. Are you sure that you will get a good job? So, attending the courses will not be in vain. Perhaps you will find a place there.

How to find a dream job?

You can limit yourself to one story instead of a thousand words.

From her youth, Marya dreamed not just of some kind of profession - she wanted to make all people happy. Craftswoman of all trades - Marya is engaged in weaving, drawing, making dolls. She created the school of needlewomen "Bereginya" in Ufa. Education and organizational experience helped. This was the first step in its implementation.

In 2015, one of the school's partners invited participants to a Thai yoga massage class - since then, Marya's interest in this type of activity has only been growing. According to her, this way you can make a lot more people happy.

Having adopted the experience of the best masters of Russia, the girl began to practice on friends. Gradually, amateur activities turned into earnings. She finds clients by word of mouth and, despite the current public VKontakte, considers this tool the most effective for promoting her services. The girl pays much attention to education and self-education. Without leaving her homeland, Marya received a Thai certificate and now dreams of an internship in Thailand.

Now Marya is not just a masseuse, but the creator of a visiting Thai yoga massage salon. Under her leadership, there are three more girls with a similar philosophy. They make three cities happy: Ufa, Chelyabinsk and Yekaterinburg.

Marya appreciates her work for positive emotions and the opportunity to comprehend psychotherapeutic practices with the help of massage (massage and psychology are connected together for her).

How to force yourself to get a job?

Dedicated to those who believe that all other items are not for him.

Usually, unwillingness to work is associated with self-doubt (the fear of rejection at an interview is included), disappointment in previous activities, or elementary laziness.

If the state of inactivity is to your liking, you are unlikely to force yourself to change it. Is it possible to find an occupation that does not take too much time, for example, freelancing. If the thickness of the wallet does not allow you to relax, then you will definitely look for work - a matter of time.

Here's how to get motivated the right way:

  1. Reboot (get out of your comfort zone: go hiking, visit your family, etc.)
  2. Make a list of wishes that would come true with the next paycheck.
  3. Stop being afraid of rejection. They did not take it in one place - they are waiting in another. If you need work at any cost, the bar of desires can be lowered.
  4. Consider all possible and impossible options. Who knows what horizons will open before you? Not a bad idea for free people - seasonal work in another region: the level of adrenaline rises and the pace of life increases.
  5. Learn a new craft. Will never hurt.
  6. Ask friends for help. Whoever does not advise a specific place of work will be able to suggest who he sees you as. Sometimes it's prophetic.

Good luck to everyone who is open to new opportunities!
