It is difficult to overestimate the importance of the table, both in terms of domestic comfort and any interior design of an apartment or cottage. Moreover, a kitchen without a table loses its functionality, so the table is deservedly considered a necessary piece of furniture for this room. A huge selection of different models of tables that can be purchased in furniture stores does not detract from the desire of some of us to make a table from the boards with our own hands - according to our own project, with the personality and charm of a valuable handmade item.
The fact that you can choose any model, the shape of the tabletop and dimensions, as long as they are comfortable and suitable for the room in which the table will be installed, gives a special charm to the prospect of making a table with your own hands from the boards.
A few examples below will help you make your choice and help in the manufacture of the model that suits you. In addition, drawings on how to make a simple table from boards will help to more clearly present the future design and assembly processes.

To make this table, we need tools such as a jigsaw, an electric drill, a screwdriver, a grinder. You can, of course, do without some of the above "helpers" by using a screwdriver and a bar with sandpaper fixed on it - just such a replacement will cause an increase in time and effort spent on making the table.
The material for the manufacture of the countertop is a grooved board, at least 30 mm thick. The tongue provides a tight connection of the boards, increasing the life of the table, since with this method of docking, the likelihood of food residues getting into the gaps between the boards is practically eliminated.
For the manufacture of the remaining elements of the table, an ordinary 50 mm board is taken.
- Boards, if they are not processed, must be thoroughly sanded - in addition to aesthetic considerations, this is required by elementary safety and practicality: a sanded board is easier to paint, and much less paint is required for such a surface;
- Cut out the details of the table:
- Tongue-and-groove boards for countertops, 230 cm long - 6 pcs.;
- Spacer board about 170 cm long;
- Bars for fastening the tabletop (their length must match the width of the tabletop, or be slightly less) - 4 pcs.;
- Bars for legs - 4 pcs., 2 pieces of board for their base.
To improve the appearance of the product, saw the ends of the fastening bars at an angle of 45 degrees, carefully cut the tongues of the outer boards, and slightly round the corners of the table top with a jigsaw.

Perhaps there is nothing easier than making this version of the table from the boards with your own hands, shown in photo 5. Table dimensions: 1200x740 mm, height - 750 mm.
For its manufacture you will need:
- Edged board, smoothly planed 40x140 mm;
- 2 bars 40x60x740 mm;
- 8 confirmations 70-75 mm long; self-tapping screws of various lengths;
- Chisel and planer;
- Electric jigsaw, drill with a special drill for konfipmatov, furniture key, grinder.
The first step is to assemble the countertop by fastening the boards with two transverse bars, placing them at a distance of 120 mm from both ends of the future countertop and using self-tapping screws, up to 80-85 mm long (so as not to reach the outer surface of the countertop). If ordinary boards are used, in the manufacture of countertops it is better to leave small, only 10 mm, gaps of the same width between them: through slots will prevent contamination of the countertop with food residues, without interfering with cleaning and without reducing its aesthetic appeal.
To achieve the same width gaps in the countertop, it is necessary during its assembly to lay a centimeter standard made of lath or other solid material between the boards.
Second step: assembling the table legs. On a sheet of chipboard or plywood, we draw a template - a rectangle with sides of 600mm (width) and 690mm (length). First, we make one pair of legs, then the second one in the same way: we lay 2 boards on the template in an X-shape, mark the lines of the upper and lower cuts of the legs, as well as the lines of their intersection - in this place the boards will be fastened together. We saw off the ends of the boards along the marked lines, and at the intersections with a chisel we select recesses 20 mm deep to connect "in half a tree". We fasten the legs with 35 mm self-tapping screws;
Third step- final assembly of the table. The drawing shows in detail how to make this simple table from the boards: thanks to him, the assembly process will not cause difficulties (Figure 6).
Despite the many variations of plastic furniture that can be easily purchased at the store, many people want to make a table for giving with their own hands from natural materials. In order to make a table, you do not need special skills, the main thing is to prepare theoretically.
What does it consist of
If it is possible to use environmentally friendly material, you should definitely use it. Making a wooden country table will be an ideal option.
Practically the table consists of 8 parts: 4 legs and 4 planks for the tabletop.
- For the manufacture of legs, the 50th boards are sawn in length into 2 bars. The length of the legs should be 75 cm minus the thickness of the tabletop and a height of at least 74 cm, otherwise the table will be uncomfortable. That is, if the thickness of the tabletop is 3 cm, the legs should be the same length - 73 cm;
- Bars for the manufacture of legs are processed with an electric planer, chamfers are knocked off the ribs, and the ends and borders are carefully polished. This concludes the preparatory work for the manufacture of the table;
- The frame for the table is necessary to ensure the hardness of this piece of furniture. In this project, a 10 cm wide plank is used to make a frame. The plank should be pre-cut and fixed together with the legs with self-tapping screws, having previously lubricated the contact points with a mixture of PVA glue and sawdust. If necessary, excess glue is removed, and after complete drying it is polished with sandpaper;
- For the countertop, you can use a special furniture stand or separate boards. It all depends on your taste preferences.
The dimensions of the frame completely depend on the desired volume of the future countertop. After making the countertop, proceed to the manufacture of the frame, the size of which should be 25 cm smaller than the size of the countertop around the entire perimeter. The frame will provide stability and reliability of the structure.
The optimal dimensions for a country table are 82 * 102 cm, which are quite capable of accommodating three people, and the size of the frame in this case should be from 64 cm.
Assembly technology
Place the tabletop base on the surface of the frame and secure it with metal corners on the inside. This is necessary so that the structure can be disassembled if necessary.
Note! The assembled table should be covered with two layers of tinted antiseptic, and then with two layers of varnish. Such measures will give the table resistance to weather conditions.
Similarly, several designs can be made, as well as a large table that can accommodate a large family.
There is another way to make a wooden country table yourself. Pre-prepared elements must be connected to each other at a certain angle, and then carefully laid on top of the boards that form the countertop. Initially, make holes at a right angle and tighten the nuts evenly. In the absence of a minimum carpentry experience, you can purchase blanks ready for assembly.
Three prefabricated legs made of boards with dimensions of 6.2 * 3.5 cm act as a support for the table. The blank is a horizontal element bolted with two legs expanded at the base. Planned boards with dimensions of 15 * 3.5 cm are fastened with screws to the legs, thus forming a tabletop. Next, a bench is made from attached planks with a size of 6.2 * 3.5 cm, fixed at a height of 45 cm from the ground.
Assembly of legs
For the legs, you will need to cut 6 blanks from 92 cm boards and cut the edges at an angle of 30 degrees using a template. From the same boards, you need to cut 3 horizontal crossbars, the edges of which should also be cut down.
Lay the legs of 2 pieces on a flat surface, and on them horizontal boards. In two blanks, make holes passing through, insert centimeter bolts into them, put washers on top and fix the nuts. However, the nuts are only needed to maintain the shape, so you should not fix them completely. Do the same with the other legs.

In order to independently make a bench for a summer residence, you can use a couple of brick columns, stones or blocks of concrete on a strip foundation. The height of the posts should not exceed 45 cm for the convenience of sitting on the bench.
Install the posts, and then make 4 plank wood planks with dimensions of 15 * 3.5 cm and the required length. They should be laid on poles in such a way that a free edge of 15 cm remains on both sides. Next, fix three slats 7.5 * 5 cm - from two edges and in the middle. If desired, simply lay the boards on the posts and fix them with screws.

Metal
Tables and chairs for summer cottages made of metal are not at all difficult to do on your own, but for the workflow you will need a welding machine. The summer recreation area will look most comfortable and cozy if you make a large set of furniture out of pallets. Such a furniture set can be made in a portable version, that is, with the possibility of transferring it to different parts of the area.

Step 4 We put 7 long boards in a row with gap 3-4 mm and fasten them with beams (2 pieces on both sides) using self-tapping screws(80 mm).
Step 5 Put in a row of three boards the same length as the table and fasten them with smaller beams. The gap between the boards is 5-10 mm. Self-tapping screws 80 mm.
Step 6 We drive two legs of the bench on each side between the fastening trapezoidal boards. We fasten self-tapping screws 100 mm.
