Carrying capacity, maneuverability and stability will be noticeably lower than that of a snowmobile with equal engine power. The advantage will be in the simplicity of design, greater reliability and greater speed in open spaces.

It is devoid of a body, shock absorbers, sometimes even brakes - everything is done to make the design of increasing speed as light as possible. This carriage has heavy-duty suspension with long travel and is designed for cross-country racing. The center of gravity of the homemade product is low to improve stability, the driver and passenger seats are protected from above by a powerful safety arc. Homemade scooter with a chainsaw motor
Despite the fact that this device looks like a child's toy, it can be a great help to the postman or courier. Let the scooter have a maximum speed and a small one, 10-15 km / h, but it has excellent maneuverability and incomparable efficiency. Homemade outboard motors first appeared in Southeast Asia after World War II. Poor fishermen and peasants built their own wooden boats, but they could not afford to buy a factory outboard motor. Without further ado, they put a bamboo stick on the saw shaft, fastened it with a wooden cotter pin and, leaning on goats with two oarlock pins, lowered it into the water from the stern at a slight angle. At the lower end of the pipe, a screw cut out of wood was attached so that it was under water. For the whole structure, only bamboo trunks and ropes were required, it was assembled in a couple of hours. As the bamboo shaft and the crossbar of the goat were worn out, they were replaced with new ones. They steered such a boat by simply turning the pole behind the engine in the right direction.
The simplest version of a homemade outboard motor will repeat the Indochinese design, with the difference that a steel pipe is taken instead of a pole, a screw from an old outboard motor, and the goats are welded from a corner and equipped with a thrust bearing on a swivel bearing.
A more advanced version uses a vertical propeller shaft and a sealed gearbox that changes the direction of rotation by 90⁰. A bearing with a propeller shaft lifting device and a control handle are placed under the engine, on which the gas regulator is brought out. The screw is also selected from the outboard motor. This option repeats the kinematic scheme of a factory-made outboard motor. It is able to provide a trip of a small boat at a modest speed over a decent distance with enviable efficiency. It is important, however, to remember that not all saws are designed for long continuous operation, so you need to monitor the thermal regime of the motor and periodically let it cool down.
Aircraft Chainsaw
Having conquered land and water, the inventors turned their gaze to the sky. The media is full of reports that yet another inventor has taken off from the ground in an autogyro - a homemade or backpack homemade helicopter with a chainsaw engine. In Australia, there is even an award for a pilot who manages to fly one mile. However, aerodynamic calculations have shown that the engine power is clearly not enough to take off the load of 100 kg from the ground and confident controlled flight. Four motors of 5 horsepower, working in sync, could theoretically cope with such a task. The question is in synchronization and tuning of the control system.

For a normal walk-behind tractor capable of plowing virgin lands, a homemade chainsaw does not have enough power and torque. But it is quite possible to make a motor cultivator for processing light soils on six acres. It will be necessary to weld the frame of their pipes or metal profiles, to fix on it a shaft with working bodies and a force transmission system from a pair of selected gears and a bicycle or motorcycle chain.

If in the previous design we replace the shaft with plowshares or harrow spokes with an auger mechanism, add a casing, an intake device and a pipe for ejecting snow, the cultivator will turn out to be quite a decent snow blower. If you are not a professional designer, then it is better to download ready-made drawings from the network. The blades of the auger are made of thick rubber, for example, from a conveyor belt. The intake device is made of galvanized steel. A plastic sewer pipe is suitable for a snow discharge pipe.
Motobur
A motor drill from a chainsaw in the construction season will do an excellent job of digging holes for poles or screwing screw piles, and in winter it will delight fans of ice fishing.
For the design of a homemade motor-drill, a speed-reducing gearbox is required, since the piles should be drilled and screwed at a speed of 30-60 revolutions per minute. It is better to take the auger from a ready-made motor drill made of good steel. An auger for a hand drill or a homemade product made of simple structural steel will not last long with active use.

In reports about the work of rescuers, everyone saw how the building structures of destroyed houses or a crumpled car after an accident are cut with a hand-held device that strikes beautiful sparks.
A light version of a professional device can be made by any home master. In weight and dimensions, it will significantly exceed the well-known electric angle grinder, or grinder. However, the homemade product is independent of the power supply, and the engine power allows the use of cutting circles with a diameter of 30 cm.
Such a mobile device will allow you to cut and clean metal structures before welding or painting, process the surface of wood and stone, and even cut concrete blocks along with reinforcement.

Observe the safety rules when carrying out lifting and rigging operations:
- Cables, hooks and sling accessories must be strong and periodically tested for breaking by ten times the force.
- The stopper must securely fix the drum and prevent spontaneous unwinding of the cable under load.
- When lifting heavy loads, the winch must be fixed on a permanent or temporary foundation, the weight of which must be five times the maximum weight of the load to be lifted.
- It is strictly forbidden to stand under the load and in the zone of its possible expansion during a fall, as well as to the side of the tensioned cable during horizontal movement of objects.
Power station
For a mobile power plant with a power of up to 5 kW, there is a time-tested solution: a home-made generator based on a motor from a Druzhba or Ural saw. They are actively used in expeditions and remote logging.
The device includes a steel frame, welded from a corner, on which an engine, a generator and a moisture-proof electrical junction box with sockets for connecting electrical equipment or an extension cord are fixed. Through the gearbox, the torque is transmitted to the generator shaft.
For low-speed generators, there is a variant of a home-made power plant with a belt drive. This design is smaller.

A home-made motor pump is very close in design to a power plant, the only difference is that a centrifugal liquid pump is installed instead of a generator. It is important to arrange the structure in such a way that when connecting the hoses to the pump, do not flood the engine and gearbox.
The engine of any chainsaw can be used to make simple equipment: from a mower to a helicopter. It all depends on the tasks and goals of the master.
