Florists told how to assemble a professional bouquet on your own. How to make a beautiful and original flower bouquet with your own hands? How to make bouquets of roses

Beauty is a relative concept. What yesterday was admirable, today may seem like complete bad taste, not worthy of attention. It is not difficult to make a beautiful bouquet with your own hands, but you should first familiarize yourself with the latest trends in the world of floristry so that it looks stylish and fashionable.

Current trends in floral design

Natural, practical and creative - this is how a beautiful arrangement should be, according to leading florists. It is important that the bouquet arrangement not only pleases, but also surprises, for example, with an unexpected combination of components, color scheme, decor, packaging method. Contrasts that until recently shocked and caused bewilderment are now taken for granted.

It is fashionable to mix exotic plants with field and garden ones, adding fruits or vegetables as an accent. Due to the beneficial interaction of shades and textures, dynamic, expressive compositions are obtained. But the main trend of recent years has become mixes of fresh flowers and sweets - the quintessence of pleasure.

Mono-bouquets are considered the second no less popular direction. To emphasize the natural beauty of flowers, luxurious, carefully thought-out packaging is used. It is better to “dilute” some mono-compositions with decorative greenery and berries, but roses, callas, carnations, gerberas and eustoma do not need such an addition.

Those who decide to please loved ones in the winter do not have to wander in search of exotic flowers, like the heroine of the famous fairy tale "Twelve Months". It is allowed and even fashionable to make beautiful bouquets with your own hands, not only from flowers, but from any seasonal materials. Cones and twigs of coniferous trees, dried flowers and succulents, combined with "New Year's" fruits - oranges, pomegranates, kiwi, will make a magnificent arrangement that is in no way inferior to traditional counterparts.

With the advent of heat, when the choice of floristic components expands, the time for creative experiments comes. Nothing prevents you from combining spray roses and decorative sunflowers or delicate garden anemones, proteas, cereals and cotton bolls. Boldly? But with a subtle taste, it turns out fantastically spectacular.

Beauty is in convenience

The well-known slogan: "Beauty requires sacrifice" seems to be losing its relevance. Floral arrangements now impress not only with aesthetics, but also with practicality. The fashion includes an original type of packaging - a cone-bag, which allows you not to hold a huge armful of flowers on outstretched arms, but to carry it freely, like a purchase from a store.

Only the desire to simplify life can explain the appearance of miniature bouquets - “compliments”, which are usually given on a date, as a token of sympathy or as an encouragement to employees. Almost weightless compositions in original paper envelopes do not constrain and do not oblige the addressee to anything, but they definitely cheer up.

Another “convenient” trend is to present flowers in boxes, baskets or boxes equipped with a floral sponge. A creative solution saves a lot of trouble, because the arrangement already has both a vase and water, all that remains is to decorate your interior with it. The box is often made into 2 compartments, adding some pleasant surprise to the floral elements.

Among the most popular gifts:

  • perfumery;
  • decorations;
  • Stuffed Toys;
  • luxury confectionery.

Examples of fashionable and stylish flower arrangements

Thanks to the fashion for naturalness and unusualness, making a beautiful bouquet with your own hands today is easier than ever. Novice florists can give full rein to their imagination and passion for experimentation. But fresh ideas will not interfere with even the most creative individuals. As well as useful tips for their implementation.

Moss and cotton

A birthday bouquet is one of the most sought after wedding floristry. But if earlier it was compiled exclusively according to the rules of flower etiquette, now it is time to break stereotypes. An unusual combination of dried flowers, cotton boxes and moss accessories will be appropriate in almost any situation, regardless of gender, age and taste preferences of the birthday person. This bright and positive mix is simply bound to please.

For convenience and ease of assembly, a floral frame is used. It can be twisted independently from wire, but it is better to buy ready-made in a specialized store. The frame perfectly preserves the shape of the bouquet composition, helps to distribute the plants without resorting to a spiral technique, and also eliminates the need for complex packaging.

You will need:

  • eucalyptus greens, stabilized moss balls, cotton bolls, brunia Albiflora sprigs;
  • decor: rattan balls, wood wool, figurines for decoration "ladybugs";
  • floral wire, secateurs, thermal gun.

We cut from the wire "stems" of the same length. We attach plants and decorative elements to them. We braid rattan balls with wire, we put moss elements on it, we lengthen cotton bolls.

We wrap a small bunch of decorative filler, known as "wood wool", in the middle with a thread to give it a neat shape. And glue with a heat gun at the base of each ball of moss.

We mask the wire "stems" of all decorative components with teip tape.

And let's start assembling the bouquet. It is based on 2 types of decorative balls and cotton.

We fill the gaps with brunia branches and eucalyptus greens. Next, we carefully “thread” the bouquet composition into the finished frame, decorated with moss. Slightly shaking, we distribute the plants over the frame so that there are no voids and “crowding”, additional volume appears.

We fix the stems with teip tape, after which we wrap them with a decorative tape from organza folded several times. There is still an unattractive wrong side of the frame. We mask it with the same wood wool, gracefully lowering part of the material onto the handle.

Having fixed the filler with threads, we decorate it with a colorful textile bow. And we enliven the composition itself with cute ladybugs. It turns out a very original and stylish arrangement in eco-style.

Blooming Provence

Delicate compositions in pastel colors, reminiscent of one of the most beautiful provinces of France, are unlikely to ever lose their relevance. They only change slightly, obeying the new fashion trends. Today, a special chic is to give such floral masterpieces in hat boxes.

This is perhaps the best way to beautifully pack a bouquet of flowers with your own hands. Performing all the operations step by step, you can get an excellent result without delving into the intricacies of professional floristry. The main thing is to choose a harmonious color scheme and plants with different textures that will effectively complement each other.

For example:

  • roses of 2 varieties: spray and pion-shaped, eustoma, ranunculus, waxflower, viburnum, eucalyptus greenery, as well as the symbol of Provence - lavender.

From the materials you will need:

  • elegant box;
  • floristic sponge (piaflor);
  • packaging film "mica".
  1. We collect the bars of dry piaflora together with the help of wire staples. Cut out a circle to the size of the gift box with a clerical knife. In order not to be mistaken, we simply put the "container" on the structure of the bars and draw a marker around the outline.
  2. We line the inside of the box with a thick cellophane film that will protect the cardboard from getting wet.
  3. We lower the piaflor into a container of water and let it sink freely, without pressing, to speed up the process. Otherwise, dry patches may remain.
  4. We wrap the wet sponge in cling film, leaving the top open, and put it in a box. Cellophane, protruding above the piaflora, is leveled with scissors, leaving 1.5 - 2 cm.
  5. We prepare the plants. We cut the stems obliquely, having previously measured what length is needed so that the composition looks beautiful. First, we distribute large roses, then eustoma and ranunculus, and at the end, decorative greenery. We complete the arrangement with lavender, which will give not only a special charm, but also aroma.

Everything in the garden

A trendy trend is to collect as many seasonal plants as possible in one arrangement. It turns out very fresh and unexpected, as if the girl had a piece of a summer garden in her hands. An interesting and beautiful do-it-yourself ruffled bouquet can be made from gladioli, roses, carnations and santini chrysanthemums. Especially if you add dill umbrellas and its closest relative buplerum, jasmine branches or other ornamental shrubs to the flowers.

To cope with violent forbs, you will need the following tools:

  • secateurs, scissors, teip tape.

And materials:

  • decorative braid of several types, pins.

How to put together completely seemingly incompatible plants? In the traditional way, using the spiral technique. Roses form the core.

Then small-flowered chrysanthemums and greens join them. In order not to disturb the horizontal composition, high gladioli are disassembled into inflorescences and placed in capsule stems with a nutrient solution.

Each layer of flowers is interspersed with greenery. Umbrellas of dill and buplerum give delicacy, bush leaves - picturesque.

Having gained sufficient volume, we fix the stems of plants with teip tape. Then cut with secateurs to the desired length. We decorate the stem with several types of satin braid.

If fresh flowers seem not creative enough, you can replace them with a beautiful paper bouquet. Gone are the days when such a decision was frightening and alarming. Exquisite roses collected from the sheets of an old book will be an excellent gift for a paper wedding.

Before starting the creative process, you need to make sure that the paper, if we are talking about really old editions or sheet music, is still flexible enough to withstand various manipulations with it.

  1. Let's prepare petals of 5 types, as shown in the photo below. All of them are for one rose. The number of petals of each type depends on how lush the flower is needed. In any case, there should be at least 5 of them. The smallest petals, from which the middle is assembled, have a narrow, pointed shape, the peripheral ones are wider and rounded.
  2. We bend each blank slightly along the middle line, and we take the edges back, as if “curling” with our fingers. So the petal turns out to be voluminous and naturalistic.
  3. We twist one of the paper blanks intended for the formation of the central bud into a tube and glue it to the wire. Around we begin to collect the rest of the flower, using petals of ever larger size. Each subsequent instance must overlap the junction of the two previous ones.
  4. We wrap the wire stem of the rose with teip tape. You can also make sepals out of it.
  5. We assemble the composition on a foam ball or a porta bag.

The easiest and most effective way to pack

Even an uncomplicated arrangement will sparkle with new colors if it is correctly designed. Not only baskets or hat boxes, but ordinary wrapping paper can work wonders. Moreover, with its help, you can beautifully wrap a bouquet of flowers with your own hands in just a few minutes.

Would need:

  • 1 sheet of kraft paper and silence, as well as 2 sheets of wrapping paper;
  • finished flower accessory.

We collect a small free composition on our stems. We cut the packing lists into rectangles with sides of 20x25 cm. We put them on top of each other at a slight angle. We cut out a base from kraft paper, 50 cm wide and 1.5 times the height of the flowers.

We start assembly. We place 2 sheets of wrapping paper on craft paper so that their bottom edge is in the center, and the top one protrudes slightly. We arrange flowers. With a long rectangle of silence, cover the lower part of the stems to the leaves. We collect thin tissue paper in wide folds.

We lay 1/3 of the kraft sheet on top, and form an envelope from the rest of it. We fasten the package with a satin ribbon.

Making a bouquet is a complicated procedure for beginners, which is performed according to certain rules. You can’t collect all the flowers you like in one bunch, decorate them with a couple of sprigs of greenery and pass them off as a beautiful bouquet. The composition should maintain a balance of combinations of shades and combinations of different plants. Another important nuance is the moderate use of decor so that the basis of the bouquet is not lost against its background. In addition to everything, flowers must be arranged in accordance with the rules of the language of flowers, which has nothing to do with linguistics. The amount of complexity for such a seemingly simple task is surprising, isn't it? Let's talk about how to properly arrange a bouquet.

What do the flowers say

The language of flowers is the symbolism that is given to certain plants in a bouquet. This subtle, refined way of expressing feelings appeared in the East. According to legends, it was invented by women who, due to the peculiarities of local customs, were not able to communicate fully. They began to put the gamut of their feelings into bouquets. One of the French monarchs brought the basics of the art of composition to the Old World after a friendly visit to the Persian king. The language of flowers gained particular popularity in the territories of England and France. In these countries, they even began to publish special booklets and dictionaries containing lists of plant names with their symbolic meaning. The language of flowers is widely used by florists. At the same time, not only the flowers themselves are important, but also the shades of the buds, the number of participants in the bouquet. The following are examples of the meanings of the most popular plants:

  • Rose (red) - a declaration of passionate love.
  • Violet is a symbol of fidelity and fragility.
  • Daisies speak of simplicity and unobtrusiveness.
  • Lily personifies greatness, nobility, luxury. Suitable for a gift to a woman who is adored.
  • Chrysanthemum is a symbol of good health and longevity. In some countries this flower is sacred.
  • Poppy means grief and loss.
  • Gerbera personifies lightness and coquetry. Suitable for a gift to a woman with whom a relationship is just emerging.
  • The carnation is a symbol of courage and perseverance. "Male" flower.
  • Gladiolus represents courage, nobility and brings good luck.
  • Iris is a flower of pride (not to be confused with pride) and wisdom. In Japan, "ayama" (iris flowers) of blue, blue and lilac shades are considered exclusively "male" flowers. Only they could be given to men of the samurai class.
  • Lilies of the valley express sensuality, innocence, fragility. Usually they are given to young "Turgenev" girls.
  • Lilac symbolizes freshness, youth.

Red flowers are a symbol of passion. Pink speaks of sensuality and grace. Blue flowers symbolize fidelity. White represents purity and innocence. Yellow, depending on the "neighbors" in the bouquet, can speak of both separation and nascent love.

Basic techniques and rules for making bouquets

Among the variety of techniques, three traditional methods are noted, which can be safely attributed to the classic ones:

  • Biedermeier. The bouquet can have three shapes: flattened, round, pyramidal. All members of the composition fit very tightly to each other. A striking example of Biedermeier design is the traditional wedding bouquet of the bride. Plant stems are wrapped with decorative paper or ribbons and form one thick “leg”.
  • Parallel. The bouquet is going to "ladder". The composition has no center, the buds form parallel rows, which gradually narrow towards the top of the cascade.
  • Spiral. The composition is based on the central flower. Other plants sequentially begin to add to the bouquet, forming circles. Their stems are applied to the stem of the central flower at an angle, slightly obliquely. If you look at the composition from above, you get a spiral, hence the name of the technique. The stems of flowers touch each other only at one point, where the bouquet is pinched by the florist's fingers. Complete the assembly of the composition by adding a border of green leaves.

There are a lot of subspecies of the above techniques and the lists are replenished every year, since the fantasies of florists, as well as the perfection of bouquets, have no limits.

The most popular types of flowers for spiral technique are chrysanthemums and roses. Their buds have different colors, so a bouquet of the same plants does not look boring and monotonous.

Roses have very strong, strong stems. Gerberas can also be used to form flower "caps", but each leg will have to be pre-reinforced and wrapped with a transparent film. Their stems are quite strong, but there is a discrepancy between the weight of the flower head and its support. For this reason, gerberas often "break" at the sepal itself. Carnations are also suitable for this type of assembly, but due to the fragility of the stems, only high-class professional florists can work with them.

Types and forms of bouquets

Bouquets, depending on the style of decoration, are classified into three types:

  • Women's. Bright, voluminous compositions.
  • Men's. Restrained bouquets with strict, straight lines.
  • Neutral. They are used as a decorative element and are designed in accordance with the style of the room.

There is another classification according to the form:

  • Round. This is a classic form that can be attributed to win-win options. The round bouquet is easily integrated into any design. In combined compositions, large buds are placed at the bottom, and small inflorescences are placed closer to the top.
  • Unilateral. All participants in the composition "look" in one direction.
  • Asymmetrical. Flower buds are sent in different directions, while the composition is carefully balanced.
  • Linear. Flowers are arranged in a cascade on one line. The lower stems are short. The higher the bud, the longer its “leg”. The bouquet looks luxurious and impressive.

There are also creative ways to make bouquets:

  • In a wicker basket or stucco box. The bouquet is ideal for decorating a table or window sill.
  • Animal figurines on a rigid frame. Creating such a composition requires skill from the florist, so this option is not suitable for beginners.
  • Another rare species is glamelia or a flower-bouquet, which is collected from the petals of many buds, gluing them together.

The combination of flowers in a bouquet

In addition to the combination of shades, the flowers in the bouquet should look good with each other and "get along" in one vase. For example, despite external compatibility, the following plants cannot be combined:

  • Carnations with lilies of the valley.
  • Lilies with daffodils.
  • Carnations with roses and lilies.
  • Lilies and cornflowers or poppies.

With such a neighborhood, the flowers will begin to fade rapidly. The rose is the universally recognized queen of flowers. As befits a crowned “person”, she is extremely capricious, therefore in bouquets she is very often surrounded only by decorative greenery (asparagus, fern leaves, palm trees, spruce branches).

The composition is balanced and complete, but even a rose can have neighbors. And not from the "lower classes", but the same "flower nobility" with a slightly lower rank. In the role of a suite of roses can be:

  • Lilies.
  • Chrysanthemums.
  • Gypsophila.

Another "royal" flower is a magnificent lily. For five centuries and up to the present day, the "fleur de lis" has been the unchanging heraldic symbol of the European Bourbon dynasty. Over the years, the flower has become automatically associated with high status, wealth, luxury and nobility. As another representative of the "blue-blooded" flower aristocracy, the lily tolerates the neighborhood only of those plants that do not try to outshine its own beauty. It should shine, and the radiance will be brighter against a faded background. In a bouquet for a lily, you can add:

  • Daisies. Too rustic wild flowers will only set off the sophistication of noble lilies.
  • Irises.
  • Phloxes.
  • Peonies.
  • Primrose.

Lush peonies also occupy a rather high position in the "flower society", but at the same time they do not boast of their origin, like roses or lilies. They perfectly coexist with small inflorescences, shading the flowers of large buds. For a bouquet of peonies fit:

  • Daisies.
  • Velvet.
  • Mattiola.
  • Freesia.
  • Forget-me-nots.

Irises are refined representatives of the upper class, but with a "broad" soul, which makes it easy to make acquaintances with flowers of a lower class. Although they are endowed with certain regalia, they calmly relate to the neighborhood with bookworms (both in a bouquet and in a flower bed), tulips, and lavender. That's really from whom no one really expected whims, so it's from simple village "suns" - sunflowers.

But they really do not tolerate any neighbors at all in a bouquet composition. Even greenery "from the side" is treated with rejection, preferring their own wide leaves as decoration. The male flower is a carnation, with a truly iron endurance, endures the neighborhood of a wide variety of colors:

  • Chrysanthemums.
  • Crocuses.
  • Anemones.
  • Dahlias.

Prickly twigs of ruscus and graceful bergrass are used as decor for bouquets of carnations. Gerberas, more reminiscent of large multi-colored daisies, greet with equal enthusiasm both noble roses or chrysanthemums and “simpler” wild flowers.

In floristry, three primary colors are used:

  • Yellow.
  • Red.
  • Blue.

Green acts as a decoration, but the center of the composition is always captured by the representatives of the trio. They organically complement each other. Yellow and red are warm, sunny colors. Blue and its shades (blue, purple, lilac) are cold tones. The color temperature of green is also quite "low". Pay attention to bouquets consisting exclusively of blue flowers. They look strict and impregnable. The coldness of the blue is multiplied by the surrounding greenery. It is enough to add a couple of warm yellow, orange, red notes to the bouquet and the composition is filled with inner light, its “mood” changes dramatically. Neutral white can set off the brightness of its neighbors or be used on its own in delicate bouquets. For example, white roses do not need additions.

Decorated with a sprig of asparagus and wrapped in a transparent film envelope, they become the epitome of luxurious laconicism. Monochromatic bouquets of delicate flowers (pink, white, pale yellow) are enough to be diluted with hints of greenery. The blue color is perfectly combined with yellow, and one of its shades, blue, with pale pink. Another elegant, win-win combination is white and red.

Design rules

In a properly assembled bouquet, secondary participants in the composition organically set off the main "central" flowers. Assembly starts from the middle. First, the "backbone" of the bouquet is collected, to which its surroundings are gradually added. When choosing colors and shapes, they are guided by the gender and age of the person to whom the flower gift is intended:

  • For young girls, small round bouquets, consisting of wildflowers or decorative roses, are suitable.
  • It is customary for young guys and men to give discreet asymmetrical bouquets with elongated lines.
  • Bulk bouquets of roses, asters, chrysanthemums or gerberas are suitable for women of Balzac age.
  • The fair sex of the elderly is presented with lush bouquets of rounded shape, consisting of buds of bright and juicy flowers.
    Packaging plays an important role in a bouquet. It must be carefully selected for filling.

Variety of materials for decoration

There is a huge selection of wrapping materials that vary in color and texture. The most popular include:

  • Corrugated paper. Its edges are sealed using a special machine.
  • Film. The classic version is transparent. It is used in the preparation of envelope bouquets, for packing single flowers (popular for the holidays of May 9 and September 1 to school), as an integral part of a complex wrapper made of several layers of different materials.
  • Floral mesh. It looks like a dense "perforated" matter that holds its shape perfectly.
  • Kraft. Classic wrapping paper. It goes well with any bouquets, brings laconic notes to the composition.
  • Organza. A translucent material that perfectly emphasizes the richness and luxury of the bouquet.

As an additional decor use:

  • Tapes. The undisputed leader among jewelry. They are "let" in waves along the edge of the package, lush bows are collected from them with the help of a stapler, cut into small, "curly" ribbons, with which flowers are sprinkled on top.
  • Sisal. The fibers of the agave leaves are pale brown in color. Give the bouquet a touch of exotic.
  • Ropes. Usually a simple twine is used. They are tied up with kraft paper packaging or complemented with sisal decorations.

In more expensive bouquets, instead of simple ribbons, satin ribbons can be used. Bows from them are obtained more tender and neater.

Decoration with a floral grid

The floral net is made of natural fibers, does not fade in the sun, is not afraid of water, and does not have an unpleasant odor, as is the case with the film. It gives the bouquet a touch of tenderness and grace. Produced in various color variations. Can be topped with glitter. In a bouquet, it is usually used without additional packaging materials, since the mesh itself looks luxurious. The sharp corners of the wrapper are easily straightened, giving volume to the composition. As a rule, flowers are wrapped in several layers of wrapping to make the mesh material look denser.

Packing a bouquet in a film is a classic option. The material can be used both for "envelopes" and for lush compositions. In the first case, a piece of film is cut off from the roll and unfolded on the table. The flower is placed at one of the corners diagonally. Then they begin to wrap it in a film. The second corner is fixed with tape. In lush bouquets, the film is collected in an "accordion" around the base of the composition, while holding it in your hand. If the flowers are arranged in a cascade, then the substrate for them is made separately.

A piece of material cut at the corners is also collected with an "accordion", fixing it at the base with a stapler. After that, the packaging seems to be wrapped around the bouquet and its edges are fixed with each other. Transparent and translucent film looks beautiful in combination with corrugated paper and opaque wrapping.

Corrugated paper decoration

Corrugated paper is widely used in needlework and in the design of bouquets and gifts. The surface of the material is "crumpled" in a special machine. The dimensions of the corrugation may vary. For gift wraps and bouquet wrappers, paper is used in a small "accordion". The material is easily stretched, thanks to which it can be deformed to your taste, adding volume to the composition. To make the bouquet look neat, before using paper, its edges are processed on a special machine that tightens the twists and fixes them. The edges of such a sheet are "wavy". Corrugated paper looks good with a floral mesh and film wrap. Unlike these materials, she is afraid of water. It's better to use a double wrap. The base is made of corrugated paper, and the outer short package is made of waterproof material.

Making a bouquet of roses at home

As a first experience for beginners, it is better to choose simpler compositions. Roses are ideal in this regard, as luxurious flowers do not need lush decoration. They will look equally elegant both in a transparent film and in a corrugated paper wrapper. Garden decorative roses have uneven stems and a large number of buds on one branch. From such flowers it is better to collect miniature round bouquets, similar to wedding ones, or compositions in a basket. Exquisite roses on long stems are suitable for lush bouquets and "envelopes". The latter look more concise, but are ideal as a gift for your beloved woman. Consider a short master class on assembling a simple bouquet:

  • First you need to cut off a small piece of transparent film. It is crumpled and compressed, forming a dense "ball".
  • A lump of film is wrapped with tape. This "ball" will become the basis of the bouquet.
  • Holding it in your hand, they begin to attach one rose in a circle, pinching each stem with your fingers.
  • Now you can add some greenery. Roses pair perfectly with asparagus and gypsophila. The composition is tied with a ribbon, fixing the stems at the base ball.

A bouquet of fruits and vegetables is a fashionable and useful trend in the world of gifts, which you can always congratulate in an original way, surprise and feed the hero of the occasion. The advantage of fruit bouquets over flower bouquets is obvious: fruit won't wither so fastlike flowers, besides, they can be eaten and shared with guests.

The fruit composition looks just as bright, elegant and beautiful as the floral one, while it can bring as much joy and positive emotions. And even more: if you like juicy fruits, bright colors and fragrant smells, you will get incredible pleasure from such a gift. Flower bouquets are also pleasing to the eye and smell good, but sooner or later you will have to part with any fresh flowers, sending their withered buds to the trash can. And you can simply eat fruits, having previously captured them in bright and unforgettable photos.

Today, designers, florists and craftsmen have come up with many ways to replace flowers with tasty, healthy and no less beautiful gifts. We have already told you how to craft. And in this article we will teach you how to make a fruit bouquet from affordable, beautiful, bright and, most importantly, edible ingredients.

By tradition, the best way to demonstrate step-by-step instructions is a detailed master class, after watching which you will definitely want to make a bright fruit bouquet with your own hands. We will talk about the technique of making a bouquet a little later. Now I want to talk about the ingredients and the principles of their combination.

What is used in the manufacture of bouquets?

For the manufacture of edible bouquets, not only seasonal or exotic fruits and berries are used, but also others. tasty, bright, fragrant ingredients.

  • Vegetables: broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, beets, cucumbers, turnips, zucchini, garlic.
  • Greens: lettuce, parsley, dill, mint, arugula, basil.
  • Spices and aromatic herbs: vanilla, cinnamon, bay leaf.
  • Mushrooms: mushrooms, oyster mushrooms.
  • nuts: almonds, walnuts, peanuts, hazelnuts, cedar.
  • Candies and sweets: marshmallow, macarons, rafaello, marshmallow, chocolate, meringue.
  • Flowers: live, paper, dried flowers.

The principle of making bouquets can be completely different: you can choose fruits and vegetables according to the color or “to the taste” of the person for whom you are preparing a gift. The main thing is that the ingredients are combined in size and look harmonious in one composition.

To fasten all the details of the bouquet, various auxiliary tools and materials.

  • Skewers or bamboo sticks- for fruits.
  • Vases, baskets, cardboard boxes- for installing skewers.
  • Hard dough, styrofoam, floral sponge- for the base.
  • cling film, craft paper, foil, sisal fiber- for package.
  • Wire, twine, colored ribbons, scotch- for fastening.

Fruit bouquets are a fairly new fad and should be decorated with a few simple rules.

  • Fruits and vegetables for a bouquet can be precut or used as a whole. Be sure all the ingredients must be ripe, fresh, without stains and damage.
  • Before you start making a gift composition, the ingredients must be rinse thoroughly and dry.
  • Some masters in creating fruit bouquets use figured cutting, cookie cutters, shredding knives.
  • Do not take too juicy fruits and berries, because soft pieces will fall off the skewer. To attach soft fruits and berries, such as strawberries, to the skewer, first put a small slice of apple on a skewer or other hard fruit.
  • And sometimes half of the grapes are strung on top of the main fruits - to mask the punctures.
  • Sliced fruit wrapped in cling film so that the product does not weather and does not darken. Also, the finished fruit composition can be sprinkled with lemon juice.
  • For greater effect, the berries are covered with chocolate or glaze with water, gelatin and lemon juice.
  • When composing a bouquet for adults, you can inject a few drops of alcohol into the middle of the fruit using a syringe.

How to make a bouquet of fruits: step by step for beginners

We string fruit: large ones on bamboo sticks, smaller ones on skewers. Also you can use several skewers at once so that the composition does not break under the weight of fruit.
We begin to collect a fruit bouquet - the largest fruits in the middle, smaller ones on the sides. While your hand is still “not stuffed”, use fruits and vegetables that are more or less suitable in shape.

Place pomegranate, orange and grapefruit in the middle and secure them with tape.

Next, we set fruits around, smaller in size, berry branches, small flowers and greens. Pack the finished bouquet in paper, fasten with tape and decorate with a ribbon.
Your colorful and chic gift is ready.

Floristry attracts the attention of many beginner needlewomen, for whom mastering new techniques is a goal that helps to constantly improve. Everyone can learn this craft step by step. After the first lessons, you can already count on the result. It is important to consolidate the acquired knowledge in practice.

Floristry is the art of creating compositions from fresh and artificial flowers, sometimes with the involvement of third-party elements. Skills in this area will be useful when creating bouquets, panels and collages. Floral compositions can be in demand on the eve of holidays and various celebrations, whether it's a wedding or an anniversary.

Materials for floristry

Having decided to engage in floristry, it is worth getting the materials necessary to create compositions. Anything can be used to compose compositions. Here are the materials that the florist needs as often as possible.

Material purpose Peculiarities
floral sponge basis for the composition. Usually, it is placed on the bottom of the container, and plants or other elements of the composition are stuck into it.
thin wire Strapping material. It can be used for various purposes, including the manufacture of composition details.
Satin ribbon Composition decoration. It is optimal to have satin ribbons of different colors.
Tape tape Slice taping. Can be used for different purposes.
cling film As a wrapper. Should not be used as a decorative element, only as a technical wrap.

Florist's tools

You should not save on florist tools:

  • Secateurs. It is recommended to approach the choice of secateurs with maximum scrupulousness. It will not be superfluous to hold, look at and try the tool in action before buying, if possible.
  • Scissors. A florist needs scissors often and for different purposes. Therefore, it is optimal to have 2 pairs of scissors, one for domestic needs, and the second directly for floristry.
  • Floral knife. The knife must be kept well sharpened. The structure of the stem can deteriorate when it is cut with a dull knife. It is convenient to have 2 knives, one for working directly with compositions at the table, and the other for cutting plants in the garden.
  • Hot glue gun. For floristic purposes, a gun with a power of 100 - 150 watts will suffice.
  • Pliers. The florist needs this tool for twisting the wire, creating bends on it. Additionally, thin-nosed pliers, which are suitable for working with thin wire, may come in handy.
  • Wire cutters.
  • Color circle. A functional cheat sheet, thanks to which it is convenient to select the colors of the elements when creating bouquets and compositions.
  • stapler. This device is used in the florist's work to attach parts that cannot be glued or combined with other elements of the composition in any other way.

The basics of arranging fresh flower bouquets

Floristry for beginners step by step suggests that the student should first of all concentrate on unobtrusive compositions. Decorating a bouquet may be redundant, and this will negatively affect its attractiveness.

The design of the composition should be based on the purpose for which it is created. Accordingly, it is necessary to use elements optimally suited for this purpose.

The combination of flowers in a bouquet

Flower arrangements made predominantly using one color are called linear. There are also 4 scales that are appropriate for beginner florists to use without worrying about the result.

"Contrasting"

The use of plants and elements of opposite colors in a bouquet can make the composition bright, saturated, inspiring a sense of optimism.

Too much contrast, however, can lead to the opposite result.

"Similar"

If the composition contains elements similar in color, it can be classified as similar. Additional use of different shades of the same color is allowed.

The number of colors is not limited here, perhaps some will prevail over the others, and perhaps all of them will be presented equally.

"Monochromatic"

When using one color but playing with its different hues, the result is a monochromatic composition.

The combination of elements in this case is associated with smooth transitions, which involves capturing the “whole picture as a whole” with the eye, but if necessary, each element can be considered separately.

"Rainbow"

No particular color restrictions are intended. A variety of flowers and other attributes of composition elements can be used. A striking example here is the usual bouquet of wildflowers.

Although there are no strict restrictions, it should be understood that there are colors and other details that together do not look in the most pleasant way.

Making bouquets of fresh flowers

You should not constantly rely on an intuitive approach, because even free arrangements obey certain laws, and below is a list of them:

  • It is more appropriate to place the brightest and largest buds in the center of the composition, and the faded and small ones, respectively, closer to the edges, this will allow the bouquet to look more voluminous.
  • Decorating with greenery is permissible in a limited amount, too much of this decor will distract from the flower buds, introducing randomness into the composition.

  • It is advisable to move the inflorescences a little apart from each other, then it will be easier to see them.
  • It is recommended to vary the arrangement elements in height within reasonable limits.
  • It is not necessary to forcefully bend or twist the plants, it is better to leave them in a natural position.
  • Whenever possible, flowers of varying degrees of maturity should be used, from still completely unopened buds to fully opened ones.
  • All of the above rules can be violated, provided that in the end the composition will have a harmonious look.

Making bouquets of artificial flowers

Floristics for beginners step by step provides an opportunity to eventually learn how to create bouquets of artificial flowers. Their main advantage over the living is durability.

You should start by creating a pattern, and then move on to creating an element based on it from pre-stocked blanks. The final option can be a standard bouquet, garden arrangement, potted plant or planter.
Floral compositions

There are 2 main floral styles: "massive" and "linear-massive".

Massive floristic style

Regarding the first one, it is assumed that the basis of the composition is a massive plant or flower, which is located vertically, and several additional elements are horizontal. There is no focus point here.

Experts do not recommend using contrasting colors when creating a floral composition in a massive style. It is preferable to flow from one element to another, both in terms of their color and their size. A classic example of a composition in this style is flowers in a vase.

Linear style floristry

Floristics is not always obvious to beginners in regards to such things as determining the style of arrangements. Step by step learning the skill, at a certain stage it becomes clear how the linear-massive style differs from the one described above: the plant material should not be completely covered.

Floristry training for beginners, step by step master classes

Novice florists, thanks to master classes, learn some secrets and get acquainted with the pitfalls that mentors tell how to get around.

box with flowers

Floristry for beginners is studied step by step from the basics of composition, involving the presence at hand, in addition to the basic ones, of the following materials:

  • succulent;
  • roses with large buds;
  • box or crate;
  • postcard (optional).
Floristry for beginners step by step: an example of a flower box design

Execution process:

  1. Based on the dimensions of the box or cardboard box, it is necessary to cut the sponge accordingly and then pack it in cling film.
  2. Place the film with the sponge into the box and then secure it using a stapler.
  3. Plants need to be laid, filling the entire volume of the container with them, but carefully so as not to accidentally damage anything.
  4. Now the box with flowers should be tied with a satin ribbon, and, if desired, put inside a postcard that matches the shape and color of the composition.

Handbag with flowers

To create this composition, stock up on the following materials:

  • rose (regular);
  • eustoma;
  • pink teip tape;
  • large purple beads;
  • carnations (flowers);
  • resin seed;
  • any fabric.

Execution process:

  1. It is necessary to wrap the wire with teip tape along the entire length.
  2. Next, the wire should be twisted in such a way that it is given the shape necessary for the base of the frame of the future handbag.
  3. From the same wire, you need to weave the handles of the handbag, and then attach them to the prepared frame.
  4. To give the handles an aesthetic appeal, they can be wrapped with a satin ribbon.
  5. The frame of the handbag must be lined with fabric from the inside.
  6. Now you should put a floral sponge moistened and wrapped in cling film at the very bottom of the bag.
  7. In order for the flowers to fully fit into the bag, their stems should be cut appropriately, and then each flower must be inserted into the sponge.
  8. With the help of beads and a satin ribbon, weaving these items together, you need to make a garland, and then it should be attached to the purse.

Bridal bouquet

Here you should prepare for execution:

  • panics (5 pcs.);
  • decorative lace;
  • pink organza;
  • ruler;
  • decorative plastic tape;
  • beads, no more than 1 cm in diameter (15 pcs.);
  • pink tulips (7 pcs.);
  • green wire.

Execution process:

  1. A strip of organza, the width of which should not exceed 30 cm, needs to be folded in half, and then cut with scissors in the middle, dividing it into 2 parts. Repeat this operation with another strip, as you will need at least 4 pieces of organza.
  2. Each of these shreds must be folded in half and cut off from them with scissors strips 3 cm wide, but the cut should not reach the fold line.
  3. From these segments, it is necessary to collect lush flowers, twisting their legs together, and then connecting them with wire at the base, but one leg must be left long so that its length matches the stem of the decorative flower.
  4. Tulips should be placed within the same level, and panicums should be evenly distributed throughout the bouquet, framing fresh flowers will occur due to the organza details made during the previous step.
  5. All the stems must now be tied with wire, twisting it as high as possible, in order to avoid losing shape and breaking up the flowers combined together.
  6. Using a pruner, the stems must be cut to the desired length.
  7. The leaves from the stems must be carefully cut off and placed around the entire circumference of the bouquet.
  8. Further, being extremely careful, avoiding damage to the leaves of tulips, you should, wrapping the place of the bunch with plastic tape 3-4 times, fasten the bouquet.
  9. The ends of the decorative ribbon can be decorated with white beads.

spiral bouquet

Any flowers are suitable for this composition. For greater convenience, it is recommended to choose those with dense and even stems. It can be, for example, daisies or roses.

Execution process:

  1. Several stripped flowers need to be folded with the tops so that they are in a vertical position.
  2. Having shifted the workpiece to the left hand, you need to take the next flower with the right hand and, slightly tilting it to the right side, place it in front of the workpiece, but the next flower will need to be tilted to the left side.
  3. Repeat the operations from the previous paragraph with the only difference that now you need to fold the flowers from behind.
  4. Steps 2 and 3 are repeated until the composition is complete. Along the way, adjusting the height of the buds is allowed, but do not forget to hold the entire workpiece tightly with your left hand. It should also be borne in mind that the flowers in this assembly should only touch the stems.
  5. Decor, when used, should also be added in a spiral.
  6. Greens can be added at the end. It is assumed that her bouquet will be as if wrapped.
  7. The bouquet should be firmly fixed with wire or decorative plastic tape, and cut off the excess ends with secateurs.
  8. The stems need to be cut obliquely, then the bouquet can receive nutrition from the water.

Experts in the field of floristry recommend avoiding wrapping round bouquets, which include the spiral version, with mesh, paper or film. Small bouquets, consisting of no more than 15 elements, however, can be wrapped. In a small spiral bouquet, wrapped, for example, with a film, you can insert a card with wishes.

Parallel Bouquet

Bouquets of this type can often be seen at weddings or in banquet halls.

Collecting a parallel bouquet is quite simple, To do this, you will need to have on hand:

  • flowers with large buds;
  • fern or greenery;
  • elements for decoration.

Execution process:

  1. It is necessary to make a "ladder" of the available flowers, laying them side by side so that the head of the next flower is lower than the previous one.
  2. The stems must be tied with teip tape so that they adjoin each other. It would be best to use roses.
  3. Next, you should add decorative elements and greenery around the flowers, remembering that they cannot cover the upper part of the composition, which is the buds.
  4. To make the bouquet more stable, you can use a wire frame.
  5. The stems should be cut evenly, after which the bouquet can be decorated with ribbons and bows, and wrapped with some material, if the situation requires it.

Composition of dried flowers

This composition is not as difficult to perform as it is to find suitable dried flowers for it. The plants presented in the example can be replaced with similar ones.

An example of compiling a floristic composition of dried flowers

Execution process:

  1. It is necessary to place a sponge on the bottom of a vase or other container, if necessary, it should be cut off, giving the appropriate shape to the container.
  2. Immortelle inflorescences, as the largest, are placed in a vase first.
  3. It will not be superfluous to add contrast, for this you can place black rudbeckia in a vase.
  4. Now you need to add vertical elements - western rudbeckia inflorescences, and the free space of the composition can be decorated with pink heather branches.
  5. Finally, the turn of the highest elements of this composition comes - haretail inflorescences. Here it is important to carefully approach the work with these inflorescences, as they have brittle stems.

Technique "Oshibana"

Floristics for beginners step by step also touches upon the Japanese Oshibana technique, which in a certain sense can be considered painting, since paintings are created with its help.

The difference from classical painting is that the “artist” here uses plants dried using a special technology instead of paints or on an equal footing with them. It can be not only flowers, but anything: fruits, peel, berries, bark, seeds, and so on.

To perform compositions in this style you will need:

  • tweezers;
  • colour pencils;
  • a piece of cloth;
  • hot glue gun;
  • paints (watercolor);
  • tracing paper;
  • colored paper or cardboard;
  • PVA glue.

Particular attention should be paid to the collection of material. This should only be done in dry weather. It is necessary to carefully examine each plant for the presence of mold and insect larvae, and if any are found, the plant must be discarded. Dirty and dusty plants, if possible, should be cleaned, if not, then discarded as well.

After collecting the material, it must be dried. To do this, you can use books under the load, or old newspapers. The load must be selected individually for each plant, so as not to spoil the material.

Tender plants should not be subjected to presses weighing more than 20 kg. If the material is too fragile, then the maximum weight of the press is 5 kg. For coarse plants, a press is suitable - up to 40 kg.

Large juicy leaves are not forbidden to dry with an iron through a special paper or newspaper. The dried material should be stored in a dry, dark place, previously placed in folders or CD boxes.

Composition process:

  1. First you need to decide on the plot of the picture. If a large amount of light detail is expected, then the background should be dark in color, and vice versa. The material for the background is colored paper, or cardboard, which can be slightly painted with paints or pencils. Various fabrics can also be used for the background.
  2. Having decided on the plot, a sketch should be applied to the main background with a pencil, followed by its redrawing on tracing paper.
  3. Elements are cut out of tracing paper, on the basis of which plants are selected for use in the composition.
  4. Plants cut to the required size should be laid out against the main background in accordance with the idea.
  5. It is not necessary to thoroughly glue the plant parts with glue, it is better to apply it in a thin layer and carefully attach the parts to the canvas.
  6. As a final step, the painting will need to be placed under the load.

Remember that paintings made using the Oshibana technique are categorically not recommended to be placed in open sunlight, as this can lead to its rapid fading.

ceramic way

Ceramic floristry involves the use of polymer clay to create bouquets of flowers and various crafts.

As an example, a variant of making a bell in a ceramic way will be considered.

For its manufacture you will need:

  • pencil;
  • PVA glue;
  • clay;
  • paints;
  • rolling pin;
  • threads;
  • small tin strip.

Execution process:

  • It is necessary to make a pattern of a bell and bend a tin strip according to its shape.
  • Now you should take the clay and mix it with a solution of water and paints to get about the color that you would like to see in the end.
  • Using a rolling pin, you need to roll out the clay and then with a knife you need to cut out several patches in the shape of flowers resembling flowers.
  • With your fingers on the back of the flower, you need to create small ribs;
  • Fingers need to glue the edges of the flower and pinch in the shape of a cross, making upward movements with them.
  • To create a stamen and a pistil, you will need a thin layer of clay rolled up with a sausage, cut into 3 small pieces at one end, and then glue the “pestle” there, framing it with yellow threads.

  • Now you can put on the bell.
  • The sepal is made using the same technique and glued to the base.
  • Finally, you need to roll the leg with clay and tint the flower with oil.
    Packaging as part of the composition

Monochromatic paper is in trend. Lace patterns, satin ribbons and even large rope weaving can add charm to a bouquet. From fabrics, raw linen is suitable.

Mesh florists are increasingly considered an outdated trend. Polyethylene can only be used as technical packaging; this material is not used as a decoration for the composition.

flower care

Live and artificial flowers need some care. Dried plants are also used in floristic arrangements and require different care from real and artificial flowers.

Fresh flower care

Since plants inevitably begin to decompose in water through the process of decay, which ultimately leads to the growth of bacteria, the water in which the flowers are placed must be as clean as possible. This approach will slow down the withering process, the flowers will last longer.

We must not forget that the substances contained in tap water can also adversely affect the life of a flower, so it is better to use water from a filter. It is not forbidden to use sprayers for cooling and moistening flowers.

Rules for the care of fresh flowers:

  • It is necessary to remove all shoots and leaves that are on the stem, which will be immersed in water. After that, the stems should be washed.
  • The cut of the stem should be done at an angle, and pour as much water into the vase as possible, then the flowers will last longer. The optimum water temperature in this case is 7°C.
  • It is highly not recommended to put a vase of flowers next to heating devices, this will shorten their life. Flowers will last longer in a well-ventilated area with subdued light, away from direct sunlight.

dry flower care

On average, dried flowers and plants can be stored for up to a year without prejudice to their subsequent use in floristic compositions.

Bundles of dried flowers are stored in limbo

There are rules to extend this period:

  • Dry flowers can be treated with a special fixative for floral arrangements.
  • Dried material should be kept away from light, in particular from direct exposure to the sun.
  • To blow off dust from compositions made of dry material, you can use a hair dryer, but only at low power, otherwise there is a risk of spoiling the composition.
  • Rooms with high humidity should be avoided.
  • The best option for storing dried plants is to create bunches and then hang them on hooks.
  • Dried flower heads can be stored in a cardboard box, after pouring a small amount of silica gel on the bottom, and covering it with wrapping paper on top.

Caring for artificial flowers

Artificial flowers require less maintenance to keep them in good condition.

Leaves of artificial flowers can be gently wiped with a soft cloth

Here are the rules to help avoid damage to such material:

  • to clean dust, you can use a hair dryer at low power and a soft cloth;
  • direct exposure to sunlight should be avoided;
  • store artificial flowers in a cardboard box, stacking them in an upright position to avoid dents and deformations.

Floristry for beginners step by step - how to make a bouquet of roses:

Try yourself as a florist - it's great! Don't be afraid to experiment and combine. To do this, you don’t even have to get your hands dirty, just tell the flower girls what to combine with.

Make combinations of different colors - they are always winning if they are chosen with taste

You can take flowers of the same species, but two or three shades. This rule works for almost all plants, including classic tulips, roses, bush chrysanthemum and everything else.

Another popular option is different flowers, contrasting or harmonizing shades. This technique is often used by brides and people with good taste. Such a bouquet will report love, passion, a cheerful character, or, conversely, tenderness and sensitivity.

Use unusual flowers!

The European fashion for a variety of flowers is slowly reaching the Russian hinterland. Hydrangeas, hyacinths, orchids, callas, eustoma appeared in our salons! They will become a magnificent bouquet on their own, or they will make an excellent company with other varieties.

eustoma- very gentle, sensual flower. Pairs well with roses and lilies. And if you take several branches of the same or different tones, you will get a wonderful bouquet. If you find it difficult to remember this languid name, just ask the florists for flowers with the letter "e" - they will understand.

Hydrangea simply charming! Our favourite. In Europe, it is often found in parks and on the streets. Someone smart guessed to collect bouquets from her for sale.

hyacinths- rare guests in our salons, but if you are lucky to stumble upon them, take advantage of the moment! You definitely won’t pass for a banal person.

orchids- self-sufficient flowers. It is better to leave them in splendid isolation - they are already spectacular and exotic! But it can also be combined with other species.

Chamomile, unfortunately, is rarely found on sale. But she is able to distinguish you from the crowd as a sensitive and non-trivial person. Want to draw attention to your person - give chamomile.

Also worthy of your attention are daffodils, lilacs, bluebells, lavender and even gladioli. They are rare, but if you find them, feel free to add them to your bouquet!

When leaving bouquets, pay attention to the flowers of the "second plan"

Irises, peonies, daffodils, small bush carnations, alstroemerias, freesias, bluebells, gladioli, daisies. Even bamboo. Although it is not a flower, it is also suitable for creating a non-standard composition.

Perfectly dilutes bouquets and adds some playfulness to them hypericum. Its glossy red berries pair beautifully with light-colored flowers.

Small doesn't mean bad

Bouquets - this is the case where the size is not important, and is more than offset by the appearance. If you are limited in funds or want to congratulate a person who is not very close, give a small compliment bouquet.

Even a single flower can look stylish if it is packaged, for example, in craft paper with a tag. And if this flower is a hydrangea or an orchid - then you will definitely be remembered!

Choose a bright way to present a bouquet

Believe me, there are more interesting and aesthetic options to give flowers than just showing up to your beloved with a bouquet at the ready. Flowers placed in hat box, is fashionable and stylish.

The box may or may not be a hat box. And not even a box, but drawer.

Or basket. Non-trivial and convenient to put on the table.

flowers in stylized umbrella- this is definitely an unused option. Your florist will have to work hard and spend time to make such a beauty, but it's worth it! Keep in mind: once you walk around the city with such a bouquet, in six months they will be everywhere and everywhere. So be the first!

flowers in handbag. Nice and nice again. Perhaps such a bouquet will not last as long as the usual options, but it will be remembered - for sure. And in the pictures on Instagram will certainly appear.

Paper bags-cones are now in vogue. Very practical and inexpensive design.

If you want to please a girl from 7 to 77 years old, not only flowers, but also cookies or sweets. Here is an option that seems interesting to us.

Flowers and macaroons in a small box are a great compliment and a way to cheer up.

Pay attention to succulents - they look original in bouquets

And even brutal. Compositions with them can be safely given to men. Or dilute with classic colors. The undoubted advantage of these plants is survivability: they will stand for a long time.

Packaging is a delicate matter

If you decide not to experiment too much with rare and exotic plants and prefer the classics, make no mistake with the packaging. The simplest and most elegant solution for a classic bouquet is to simply tie it up ribbon, white or matching colors.

Other good options: craft paper, mesh, decorative "newspaper" or sheet music.

Looks great bouquet wrapped in broad leaves or other greens. Nothing extra.

And finally, if you have already tried all these options, make your own author's composition. Be sure to find or come up with something fresh and unhackneyed! At the same time, you will advise us.
