Types of swimming pools and features of their installation. Do-it-yourself pool installation Making a concrete pool

And dive into cold water. To make this a reality, you can make a small pool with your own hands. Certain types of structures can be easily assembled independently in the yard of a country house or home. This article will help the owner make his family happy; you just need to make the most of the materials that are already available.

Types of pools

In order to have plenty to choose from, you need to know about the features of various solutions and their relevance for specific conditions.

Inflatable pools. These products can be installed in less than an hour. The pool is usually a container made of PVC film. To ensure that there are no breakthroughs and that the pool lasts long enough, it is reinforced with additional polyester fibers. Only one part is inflatable - the top edge. The whole circuit operates on the float principle. Water begins to fill inside, the side floats up. As the level rises, the walls are leveled and a full-fledged bowl is formed. The kit usually includes a pump, filter, ladder and assembly instructions. Among the positive qualities we can highlight:

  • high assembly speed;
  • relatively light weight;
  • affordable price;
  • the ability to deploy in any conditions (the only requirement is sufficient rigidity of the base and its evenness).

An inflatable pool usually meets all the expected requirements. But it is worth knowing about certain disadvantages: a high probability of water contamination, the relative fragility of the material (a fallen heavy branch or sharp object can damage so much that a complete replacement will have to be made). The price of such products cannot be called low; for some samples you will need to pay 30 thousand rubles or more.

Frame. Among pools of this type, there are a large number of different solutions. The support can be metal tubes, which are assembled into a closed structure, and a PVC bag is placed inside. When it fills with water, the walls rest against the racks and their expansion is limited. Panel frames are assembled from separate sheets of metal, which have an anti-corrosion coating, which prevents its damage. The internal space is organized in the same way as in the previous version.

Installing a frame pool usually takes a full day. At the same time, it also needs a good foundation so as not to deform it with the weight of the flooded water. Seasonal containers will have to be dismantled in the fall and installed again closer to summer. There are those who can easily spend the winter. Usually they have additional stiffening ribs mounted, and the main racks are large. This is necessary to resist the action that will occur when water freezes. Such pleasure will cost more than inflatable analogues.

Made from fiberglass. In most cases, this design is a ready-made cast container. It has specified parameters: depth and capacity. There is no need to invent anything. You only need to dig the appropriate pit, install the container and provide the required communications. One of the advantages is the high strength of the product. In some respects, it even surpasses concrete. Due to the properties of the components, the bowl is not subject to linear expansion due to temperature fluctuations. This means that the service life can be very long with proper maintenance. Fiberglass is highly repairable. The walls are so smooth that debris simply cannot linger on them, which means they are very easy and simple to clean. A large amount of additional equipment is available, for example, you can purchase a variety of slides or diving boards. This will delight not only children, but also adults. The low level of thermal conductivity prevents rapid cooling of the heated liquid.

With polypropylene bowl. By itself, this polymer material has sufficient strength. It does not need an additional layer of waterproofing, which will impede the outflow of liquid. Most often, blanks in sheets are used to make such options. They are blue or cyan in color. You can do the assembly yourself, but this will require certain tools. Most often this is entrusted to professionals. The construction of the entire structure can take from several days to weeks. Such pools have a recessed design, so large-scale excavation will be required, as well as the laying of a concrete base slab. The material is resistant to ultraviolet radiation and chemically active substances. Thanks to this, it can be safely placed outdoors.

With concrete base. To put it simply, this is a pit of arbitrary length, width and depth chosen by the user. It is filled with mortar. The walls and bottom can be lined with special ceramic tiles or mosaics. Almost anyone can implement such a project in any suitable location. For such a pool, it is important to think through all the required communications so that it lasts as long as possible.

Dome. This could be any of the options listed. The special thing is that they all have a roof. It can be made from various materials. The main highlight is that the bowl is closed on all sides, which prevents wind from blowing through and also contributes to the rapid heating of the water inside.

In addition to differences in the method of construction, subtypes are also distinguished according to the filtration option. It can be:

  • Skimmer. In this case, water is drawn from the pool through technological holes located on the side walls. Moving through the channels, it enters the filter device. There it is cleaned, disinfected and partially heated. Return to the container is carried out through nozzles.
  • Overflow. This method is more effective, but is also somewhat more expensive in construction. The water mirror reaches the very top of the pool. Water flows through the drain hole or the top side and enters a special gutter, and from it into the tank. The latter contains a pump with a water sensor, which pumps the liquid into the filter, where it is cleaned. The liquid flows back through the holes located at the bottom of the pool.

Selecting a location

In addition to choosing a pool and even before creating its drawing, it is important to think about where to place it on your property. To make this easier to decide, here are a few rules to consider:

Assembly of the frame version

This option can be very cheap to manufacture. In order to implement it, you will need timber 100×100 mm, edged board 100×30 mm or 50×30 mm. You will also need a material that has good waterproofing and can withstand high tensile pressure.

  • The site is selected as described above.
  • A pit is dug 40 cm deep. Its dimensions should be 20 cm larger than the dimensions of the planned pool.
  • The bottom is well compacted.
  • A slight slope is created towards the middle, where a small hole is dug with dimensions of 50x50 cm and a depth of 20 cm. It will serve to collect water, which may overflow over the edges.
  • The entire space is filled with medium or fine crushed stone. The layer should be 20 cm.
  • Sand is added another 20 cm. It is very important to compact it well so that the pillow is sufficiently rigid.
  • The plane is displayed using beacons. This will prevent the pool bowl from becoming distorted. The role of guides can be metal pipes or wooden beams, which are laid using a building level.
  • Racks are made from the wooden beams mentioned above. Their number should be such as to install every meter. The total length is equal to the height of the pool plus 50 cm, which must be immersed in the ground.
  • The part that will be in the ground is treated with bitumen mastic or wrapped in roofing material. In addition, it is necessary to coat the wood with an antiseptic composition to prevent rot from constant exposure to moisture.
  • At the installation site of each column, a hole is dug to a depth of 50 cm.
  • Corner posts are installed. They are leveled using a building level in the horizontal and vertical plane.
  • The space around them is filled with sand and soil, which are compacted well to securely fix the element.
  • The diagonals are checked to ensure that the design is symmetrical.
  • Fishing lines are stretched between the posts. One should be at the bottom, the second at the top. They are necessary in order to facilitate the installation of other reference points.
  • The remaining parts are mounted with the indicated step.
  • The supporting walls are filled using edged boards. It is better to place the elements closely to create a uniform plane.
  • After making the frame, a material is placed inside that will serve as a receiver for water. This can be thick polyethylene film. It is important that it be in one piece, because... A leak will certainly appear at the seam site, and water will seep into the ground. The edges must be folded over the top edge so that the material does not slip during use.
  • If you wish, you can make a more durable version. To do this, you will need a PVC base, which is used for sewing awnings on trailers, eyelets, a rivet gun, a hair dryer and a rubber roller. The blanks are placed inside the frame and markings are made of what bends will need to be made in the corners, how much should be left for the fold, and where exactly the seam will be soldered. The individual sheets are connected to each other using hot air. They are laid with a slight overlap. Using a hairdryer, heat until almost completely softened. Rolling a roller forms a joint. This should be done on a flat surface free of debris and dust. The upper edge is bent by 5 cm. The eyelets are installed using a riveter. The distance between them should be 15 cm. The awning can be fixed to the inside. To do this, it is simply pressed with a self-tapping screw and washer to a wooden base. Either the edge is bent over the top level, then a rope is pulled through the eyelets and it clings to the prepared elements.
  • The finished pool is filled with water.

To make the structure easier to fit into the surrounding exterior, it can be partially or completely immersed in the pit. In this case, the bottom is organized in the same way as described. The drainage system can be improved. To do this, a sewer pipe is connected to the hole, which is located in the middle, the second end of which goes into a drainage basin or channel. This way, the water will drain much faster.

Making a concrete pool

The main task for this option will be excavation work. Having decided on the location and marking the territory, a hole of the required depth is dug. The bottom is formed in accordance with the recommendations listed above.

Installation of a polypropylene pool

If you have certain skills, installing such a pool will not take too much time. We will need sheet polypropylene (wall thickness from 8 mm), material for joining, a technical hair dryer, and a plane.

To install such a structure, a pit is prepared; its dimensions should be 10 cm larger than the product itself on each side. The bottom must be filled with solution and allowed to stand. The vessel is immersed in the middle. Gravel is poured into the space between the walls of the vessel and the pit and compacted well.

The technology for making a polypropylene pool is shown below:

Filter system

A pool filter is an integral device that must be present. Without it, it will be impossible to use water for a long period of time. It will need to be replaced frequently. The device can be installed either near the pool itself or in a specially prepared place. There are a large number of ready-made options. For a small pool there is no need to take a filter that is too powerful. If desired, you can assemble it yourself. For this you will need a 100 liter plastic barrel. The main condition will be the presence of a lid that can close hermetically. You will need a centrifugal or drainage pump, plastic pipes, fittings and a filter flask cartridge.

  • A hole is drilled below the neck of the container.
  • A threaded nipple is inserted into the hole. Sealing rubber bands are put on both sides and locknuts are screwed on.
  • The same exit is made 5 cm above the bottom diagonally.
  • A pipe is connected to the upper adapter, which will draw water from the pool.
  • A filter cartridge is placed on the bottom from the inside. A pump is connected to the external one. The pump leads to the pool.
  • Coarse sifted sand is poured halfway into the barrel.
  • The installation must be below the water level in the pool. The liquid will flow by gravity into the container. Passing through the sand, it is cleaned and fed back into the bowl using a pump.

With the right approach to the matter, the pool will last for many years. A concrete or polypropylene structure can easily be made in a bathhouse or basement of a house. But this should be planned at the construction stage in order to avoid unpleasant consequences from uneven load.

Installation of water supply and drainage equipment

If the pool is located within the city limits or where there is a centralized water supply and sewerage system, then, as a rule, there are no problems with water supply and drainage. But in swimming pools located in country houses, water supply and drainage are carried out using pumps of varying power.

Installation of this equipment must be carried out in accordance with certain rules, otherwise using the pool will not be comfortable enough.

Filtration system installation

Proper installation of filter equipment during the construction of swimming pools is of great importance.

Filters must be selected taking into account the volume of water and the speed of its circulation.

Modern pool filters are capable of performing biological and mechanical water purification using filter cartridges or sand backfill.

Installation of disinfection equipment

Such devices are used to dose the pool with special chemicals for swimming pools, capable of suppressing the vital activity of various microorganisms.

Today, ozone, chlorine and activated oxygen are most often used for these purposes. These reagents are mixed with coagulants, which bind organic matter and raise it to the surface of the water.

Installation of water heaters

Water heaters are tubular heating elements with an automatic control system. These pool systems monitor the water temperature and adjust it to a predetermined level.

Correct and high-quality installation of water heaters will make your pool as comfortable to use as possible, and fresh, warm and clean water will perfectly relieve the stress accumulated during a hard day at work.

Installation of additional equipment

Today it is very popular to equip swimming pools with additional equipment - stairs and slides, geysers and hydromassages.

They can be made according to an individual design to give the pool a unique look.

We also install equipment for artificial lighting and additional pool lighting.

At the client’s request, AstraPool specialists will select and install equipment in the pool to create the effect of an artificial flow or waterfall.

The cost of installation includes the price of equipment for the pool, its delivery to the work site, performance testing and adjustment, and familiarization of future users with operating rules.

On the territory of private houses and cottages you can increasingly see swimming pools, which add sophistication and originality to the land. There are many construction companies that offer their construction services. You can also install the pool yourself, it is not very difficult. It is enough to know some simple rules.

What to consider at the initial stage of building a pool

Before construction begins, the necessary documents must be completed. You must have an architectural design for the future pool, ownership of a plot of land, and a development plan for your personal plot.

After all the documents have been prepared, it is necessary to determine the purpose of the pool. If the pool is expected to be used by children or elderly people, it is very important to pay special attention to certain safety measures. The depth of the pool should be optimal for both adults and children.

Criteria for choosing a place to build a swimming pool

1. Dug-in pool. 2. Terrace. 3. Electrical cable outlet for submersible decorative lighting lamps.

The next step is to determine the location of the future pool. In this case, the location of groundwater is first taken into account. If water appears while drilling a well, then the location was chosen poorly. It is not advisable for the pool structure to come into contact with the walls of the house or other buildings, as this can lead to the formation of cracks and destruction of the room.

Once the location of the pool has been chosen, it is necessary to determine the size and shape of the structure. The cost of building a pool mainly depends on its shape; the more complex it is, the correspondingly more expensive the work. A pond of standard rectangular shape is currently the most optimal and cheapest option.

Now that all the organizational issues have been resolved, you can proceed directly to the construction of the pool.

Main stages of pool construction

  1. Digging a pit. During operation, the walls of the pit may collapse, so it is recommended to use a slope of six to seven degrees in the opposite direction from the center of the pool. Another slope is made at the bottom of the future pool towards the drainage pit.
  2. Pit drainage. A small depression is made in the middle of the pit, which is filled with crushed stone. After this, a layer of sand, about twenty to twenty-five centimeters, and a layer of gravel, about ten centimeters, are laid on the bottom.
  3. Waterproofing the pit. As a material for waterproofing a pit, you can use roofing felt on bitumen mastic, plastic film, semi-tarpaulin fabric or special materials.
  4. Installation of formwork. This is a very important stage in the construction of a pool, on which the finished appearance of the future pool depends. For this you can use wooden boards or plywood.
  5. Installation of fittings. The strength of the entire pool structure depends on this process, so a diameter of eight to fourteen millimeters is most often used.
  6. Casting a concrete bowl. In this case, it is best to use high-quality cement. When concreting, both the bottom and walls of the future pool are poured at the same time. This way, there are no seams that need to be treated with grout in the future. Next, you need to leave the pool for a week, during which the entire structure will harden and become stronger. After this, the formwork can be removed and laying of the embedded parts can begin. They are fixed using concrete with special polymer additives.
  7. Leveling the surface of the bowl. Since chips, potholes and other minor defects occur during the removal of formwork, they must be eliminated. This is very easy to do using plaster. There are a huge number of special cement-based solutions that make the surface perfectly smooth. To prevent the aquatic environment from having a detrimental effect on the surface of the pool, it is covered with a special waterproofing material.
  8. Pool bowl lining. This is the final stage of building a swimming pool with your own hands. The material you can use is mosaic or ceramic tiles. For such work, it is recommended to use special compounds on a waterproof basis, as well as waterproof grout.

The technology for building swimming pools is quite simple. Therefore, you can build a reservoir yourself or hire a team of professionals. Videos about building a swimming pool will help novice craftsmen make their pond unusual and functional.

Which type of water supply system to choose for a swimming pool

1. Filter. 2. Bottom cleaning device (vacuum cleaner). 3. Skimmer. 4. Pressure gauge. 5. Spotlights. 6. Bottom drain. 7. Dispenser
chlorine 8. Transformer. 9. Control unit.10. Vacuum cleaner connection nozzle. 11. Feed nozzle. 12. Electric
heater. 13. Circulation pump. 14. Multi-position valve. 15. Automatic level maintenance.

An important place in the construction of a swimming pool is given to the water supply system. It is necessary to select a suitable system before starting all work. There are two main systems that are used in the construction of swimming pools - skimmer and overflow. The second option is quite expensive, so it is very rarely used for individual pools. Its advantage lies in a high-quality water purification and heating system. A skimmer system is considered an economical option for constructing a water supply system for individual reservoirs. In order to assemble it, you do not need special knowledge and skills, just desire and a little free time. Very rarely they use mounted water filters, which are mainly suitable for children's or small pools.

Filtration of water in the pool, which filter to choose

Filters that are used to purify water contain various materials. This can be sand with a fine fraction, shungite, or fiberglass filler. Each of these materials has its own advantages and disadvantages. Diamat filters are very beneficial for human health; they are able to saturate water with silicon, which is essential for the body. Shungite filters are recommended for use in children's pools.

All the main work on installing the pool has been completed, you can pour water and use the pond for swimming and relaxing.

Modern technologies allow you to find a huge number of videos on how to build a swimming pool with your own hands on the Internet. This process takes quite a lot of time and effort, but the result is worth it. With minimal cost you can create an amazing and functional pool.

How much does it cost to install a swimming pool?

Many construction companies offer their pool installation services. The question arises: how much does it cost to build a swimming pool on a summer cottage? First of all, it depends on the shape and depth of the pool. Also, the cost of installing a pool depends on the material used for construction, the chosen water drainage system, decoration, and so on. Since in our country these types of services are not as common as in Europe, the price for installing a swimming pool varies from seventy to three hundred thousand rubles.

Also, the price depends on whether the pond is open or closed. Will it have a water heating function or not, what type of lighting will be used. Construction stores offer a huge selection of equipment for swimming pools, with which you can add sophistication, originality and comfort to your pond. It is necessary to install pool equipment using high-quality materials, because the service life of the entire structure depends on this.

Types of pool equipment and their purpose

All pool equipment is divided into basic and additional. The basic equipment includes such equipment, without which it is impossible to imagine the operation of any reservoir. This includes filtration, heating and water circulation systems. When choosing, they mainly pay attention not to the appearance, but to the technical characteristics of the equipment, since such equipment is located in hidden places.

With the help of additional equipment, coziness, comfort and beauty of the pool and the surrounding area are created. These include a variety of waterfalls, water cannons, hydromassage systems and much more. With the help of such accessories you can create a piece of paradise on your territory.

The materials used to build swimming pools also determine their service life, so you shouldn’t skimp on this. The pool is a large structure, the construction of which will require significant financial costs. Currently, a large number of companies offer low prices for the construction of swimming pools. At the request of the customer, they can produce various, even the most unusual, shapes of the reservoir. Thus, the construction of a swimming pool in a country house is no longer a luxury, but an integral part of a complete relaxation.

An artificial pond is a necessary thing for those who live outside the city or visit the countryside from time to time.

Many country house owners dream of building their own swimming pool. And this is a completely feasible idea. You can buy a pool, order it from a special company, or build it yourself, saving a lot of money.

Depending on the complexity of the design and assembly conditions, there are several types of pools: frame, stationary and inflatable. How difficult it will be to install pools depends on this.

Frame pools

Such a frame is covered with PVC fabric. A wide selection of sizes and colors will help you customize your pool to suit your mood.

Pools consisting of a “skeleton”, depending on the complexity of the design, come in several types: they can be used only in the warm season, they can be used all year round and of a solid design, which requires a more complex design. A frame pool consists of a special edge, which gives stability and strength to the structure, and of course a water tank.

In order to install a specific pool, which consists of a frame, you must have the following tools on hand: a set of keys - simple, with six edges and an adjustable one, screwdrivers, and also a cutting tool. Also, in order to level the site, you will need additional materials - a wooden peg, high-density polyethylene film, polystyrene or foam boards and adhesive tape.

Installation, step-by-step execution

Before installing such a pool, you need to choose the right place to mount it. The location for the pool should be level, it is even advisable that the pool itself be located on a slight hill for good water drainage. There should be no trees or buildings near the pool. In order to create a good place for its installation, you need to level the site, remove all debris - small branches, grass, to prevent them from rotting under the bottom of the device, and pour sifted sand over the entire site in an even layer of 1-1.5 cm.

Also, close to the pool, you need to have access to electricity to connect some of its units, to water, in order to fill it and to drain used water.

Now you can install the pool:

A frame pool is quite easy to install and just as easy to dismantle for the winter.

  1. In the middle of the site you need to install a small stake made of wood, put the first layer of pool film on it and pierce it with a stake so that the film does not move and remains in place.
  2. We lay foam plastic or polystyrene foam boards on top of the film, moving them down a little. After all the slabs are laid, they need to be secured together with adhesive tape, and the excess ends of the slabs should be cut off with a knife. The thickness of polystyrene foam boards must be at least 2 cm.
  3. Then you need to trim the top of the stake so that it is flush with the slabs.
  4. On the prepared area we place a special mat that comes with the pool and position it so that the drain hole is in the right place.
  5. Remove the drainage valve from the hose and leave it for a couple of minutes so that the pool material can heat up evenly in the sun.
  6. The beams that will be positioned horizontally have a larger caliber and must be inserted into certain grooves at the bottom of the structure.
  7. Then, using bolts, you need to screw the hinges to the ends of the beams along the entire perimeter of the structure.
  8. The next step is to install the supports into the loops of the rope. To do this, first insert the lower part of the support into the rope grommet, then the upper part into the hinge, insert the support into the groove of the hinge, align the pins on the springs and connect the support cap to the support itself.
  9. After the pool structure is assembled, you need to check its strength. To do this, take the assembled structure by the upper part and shake it thoroughly.
  10. We insert the pool bowl inside the structure and glue it to the walls of the frame with adhesive tape. In this case, it is advisable not to immediately fix the bowl over the entire frame, but to include a set of water in it and carefully straighten the fabric while it is collected. This will help distribute the bowl fabric evenly within the pool frame.

After the pool is completely assembled, you need to check how level it is, since its correct location determines whether there will be a water leak or not. In order to check how the pool stands, you need to fill it with water about 3 cm and carefully look to see if there is any difference in the water levels around its entire perimeter.

Inflatable pools

The most comfortable and least labor-intensive to install are inflatable pools, which are made from a special durable film. In order to install an inflatable pool, you need to place it on a flat surface, on which there will be no things that could tear it - grass, shells, pebbles. It’s good to unroll the fabric and pump it up with the pump that comes with the pool.

Installation of a polypropylene pool includes:

  • pit preparation;
  • installing a cushion and pouring a slab under the base;
  • installing the bowl and leveling it;
  • installation of equipment;
  • pouring the pit with concrete;
  • installation of a decorative area around the perimeter of the pool.

When performing this complex of work, craftsmen should pay attention to the following:

  • the upper edge of the pool should not be more than 0.3 m above ground level;
  • the width and length of the pit should be 0.8 - 1 m larger than the dimensions of the bowl around the perimeter;
  • before pouring the concrete slab, the bottom of the pit is leveled with a sand and gravel cushion;
  • the slab must be at least 0.25 m larger than the bowl around the perimeter;
  • Filling the pit with concrete should be done in stages, with the bowl filled with water to the same level and only then concrete is poured flush with it.

Ready-made pools

A polypropylene pool can be assembled according to an individual project, or you can buy a ready-made pool in one of the standard shapes. A factory-made bowl has an aesthetic advantage - the seams are not visible. No matter how much manufacturers say that when assembled on site, the seams are not visible, this is not always true. Despite all the mechanical strength of such a joint, it often remains visually noticeable. Thus, the finished bowl will have a more attractive appearance.

The range of ready-made polypropylene pools often includes round and rectangular bowls. However, depending on the manufacturer, exceptions to this rule are possible. The standard thickness of the bowl walls is 8 mm, although the permissible thickness can be 5-10 mm.
