Introduction

Children often cry different reasons. This begs the question "Why?" and “Where do tears come from?” We cry for various reasons - from pain, resentment, fear, feelings, joy.

Objective:

I will learn why we cry and where tears come from.

Object of study: classmates

The relevance of this work. I think my peers also wondered why we cry. Therefore, my material will be of interest to everyone.

My hypothesis is this:

Most of the time I cry out of worry and fear. My classmates cry for the same reasons.

    Find information on the topic in the encyclopedia and the Internet; Learn the structure of the eye; Watch yourself why I'm crying; Write a survey for your classmates.

During my research, I used the following methods:

    Collection, analysis and systematization of information; Questioning.

I found the following information in the encyclopedia.

We cry from emotional experiences. Tears are the protection of the body. They are formed in the lacrimal glands located in the outer part of the orbit above the eye. Excess tear fluid drains into the nasal cavity through the tear duct.

After observing myself, I found out that I cry for various reasons:

    from pain; from happiness; from experiences; from resentment; out of fear.

I made a questionnaire for classmates in order to find out from what

most often my comrades cry.

Guys, what are the reasons why you cry most often?

The students were rated on a scale from 1 to 5.

As a result of the survey, the following data were obtained:

Most often, my classmates cry from resentment and pain, less from worries, fear, and least of all from joy. Comparing the questionnaire data with my emotions, I came to the conclusion that my emotions do not coincide with the opinion of my classmates, since I most often cry from feelings and fear.

6.Conclusion:

Thus, as a result of the work, I learned:

The structure of the eye and how tears appear. Causes of tears.

It turned out that my hypothesis that tears most often appear from feelings and fear was not confirmed, since my comrades often cry from resentment and pain. Perhaps the topic of my further research will be: “Why is this happening?”

I can use my knowledge in the lesson “The world around us”, on the topic “Sense organs”.

Problem

  • Man is the only living creature

who cries. Crying looks like this

simple action! But it has a lot

incomprehensible. I want to find out why we cry, where do tears come from, do they mean something to a person?

Objective: find out why a person is crying

Research objectives

  • where do tears come from?
  • what are they needed for;
  • Do animals cry?

Research hypotheses

  • Suppose that a person cries from emotional experiences.
  • Maybe that tears are the protection of the body.
  • Probably , animals are also hurt to tears.

The structure of the human lacrimal apparatus

1. Lacrimal gland

2.Upper eyelid

3. Tearful

Tears are not just water!

Tears are made up of:

  • water;
  • fats;
  • salt;
  • baking soda.

Therefore, the tears that flow down our cheeks taste salty.

What are tears?

  • Reflex - cleanse and moisturize the eyes.

Animals have only reflex tears, they are needed solely for wetting the eyes.

  • Emotional - these are tears of sorrow, joy, anger, fear.

Such tears are peculiar only to man.

They say that the best remedy from all sorrows - to cry.

What do tears do?

  • - Relieve stress
  • - Relax emotions
  • - Remove toxins from our body
  • - Regulate blood pressure
  • - Increase immunity
  • - Promote healing of injuries.

"Crocodile Tears"

  • Tears constantly flow from the eyes of the crocodile. There is an ancient legend that crocodiles cry bitter tears when eating a person.
  • The tears of the crocodile flow to remove excess salts from the body and therefore it seems that the predator is crying!
  • And reptiles have no emotions at all. So crocodiles cannot grieve ...

Our research:

  • 31 people were interviewed

from 1st grade.

  • In my research work, I found out that a person is the only creature who cries from grief, joy, pain.
  • Tears can ease our emotional condition. Using the example of my classmates, I can say: it really becomes easier for us when we cry.
  • But the hypothesis that animals are also hurt to tears has not been confirmed! Animals have tear ducts, but they are used to moisten the eye, not to express emotions.

My advice:

  • You shouldn't cry all day and all night long, but sometimes crying a little is not harmful, but very good for our health!

INTRODUCTION

Everyone knows what tears are. Though rarely, at least sometimes, but everyone cries. Children cry for any reason. Adults from great pain or great grief. Sometimes people cry with joy or with laughter. But have you ever seen a crying animal? No, animals don't cry. Sometimes they have watery eyes - this is a sign that the animal is sick. From pain, the beast will howl or whine, but crying with tears is a purely human property. Crying seems like such a simple act! But, there is a lot of confusion here. AT Appendix 1 hosted "Piggy Bank interesting facts about weeping and tears.

In my work I want to find out why we cry, where do tears come from? So goal my work is the study of the process of formation of tears and their composition, experimental clarification - why a person cries.

To achieve this goal, you need to solve the following tasks :

Find out what tears are for.

Analyze who cries more and when.

Conduct experiments at home to find out what causes tears.

Thing research - crying, but oh object my study became a tear.

Hypotheses:

A person cries from emotional experiences.

Tears are the protection of the body.

Research methods used by me when writing the work:

Analysis of material taken from the literature on the Internet;

Comparison of information from various sources;

Conducting a survey among classmates on the topic “Who and when cries more”;

Experiments with onions, computer, shampoo.

1. WHAT ARE TEARS

1.1 DIAGRAM OF THE TLAMIC DEVICE

To begin with, I decided to find out what tears are and what path they take. Watching relatives and friends, having studied the materials, I found out that we, it turns out, cry every day. Every time we blink, we cry! Why is this happening?

Consider the structure of the lacrimal apparatus ( Appendix 2 ).

Above our eyes is the lacrimal gland. Several tear ducts run from it to our eyes. At the moment when we start to blink, the eyelid makes a “pump”, with the help of which a certain amount of fluid is pumped out of the lacrimal gland. This liquid is called tears. Droplets of tears, as it were, wash our eyes and moisturize their surface, as a result of which they remain not only clean, but also moisturized. When a person begins to cry, most of the tears flow into the inner corner of the eye and fill its recess, which is poetically called the "tear lake", from where it enters the lacrimal sac through the lacrimal canals. But not all "droplets" get out - many of them flow down the nasolacrimal duct, where they are "absorbed" by the nasal cavity. That is why during strong crying a person's nose becomes stuffy. When there are too many tears, the nasolacrimal duct cannot cope with large quantity fluids, eyes overflow, and tears roll down cheeks.

1.2 COMPOSITION OF TEARS

Our teardrop consists of almost only water (99%). The remaining percentage includes protein, salts, stress hormones, as well as the enzyme lysozyme. It can break down the walls of many types of microbes and kills 90-95% of the bacteria that it encounters.

By the way, the composition of tears is almost identical to the composition of blood. If red blood cells - erythrocytes - are added to the tear, then blood will be obtained in its pure form. ( Appendix 3 ).

Normally, we produce 1 milliliter of tear fluid per day. And when crying, up to 10 milliliters (2 teaspoons) of tears can stand out! ( Annex 4 ).

1.3 TYPES OF TEARS

Cry, burst into tears, roar, sob, sob, whimper - how many words are there to express this simple action! We cry when we are offended; we cry when we lose loved one; crying from physical or moral pain; we cry when we are sad, scared; crying while watching a sad movie; we cry for joy; crying from onions...

It turns out that there are three types of tears: basal, emotional, reflex. (Annex 5)

2. Do my classmates cry

1.1. Who cries more: men or women?

More than once I saw tears on my mother's face, I saw a crying grandmother and aunt. What is the reason for their tears? Mom cries from resentment, from worries about me, when I am very sick, she cries to tears from laughter. Grandmother cries when watching sad movies. But I didn't see my grandfather, dad, uncle crying. From these observations, we can conclude that women cry more often than men. According to statistics, women live longer than men. The short life of men is explained by the fact that they hold back their emotions. They accumulate inside and undermine health. Women give vent to their emotions and salty tears. This brings them a sense of relief and calmness. Why do men cry less often than women? The answer is simple - because men contain the hormone testosterone, which prevents the accumulation of tear fluid.

1.2. Questioning "Who and when cries more?"

Among my classmates, I conducted a test on the topic “Who cries more and when?”. 26 children took part in the survey. The children answered the following questions:

1. Do you cry often?

2. Do you think that it is not necessary to restrain yourself from tears?

3. Do you sometimes cry for no reason?

4. What makes you cry the most?

5. Do you feel better after crying?

The results of the survey can be seen in the charts in Appendix 6 .

1.3. Research experiments

Experience 1. Why does onion make you “cry”?

When my mother peels and cuts onions, she cries. Every woman is constantly faced with this insidious vegetable that makes her cry.

I decided to experiment to see if I would cry while cutting onions. Yes, I did cry. (Annex7 ). Well, why do we cry from onions?

When we cut an onion, we cry because of the fumes emitted by the onion. Bulb highlights volatile matter- lachrymator, which through the air enters our eyes and causes irritation. Tears appear to protect the eyes. Is it possible to avoid tears when peeling onions? Can. And I tested it myself. You need to dip the onion in cold water, or you can cut it right under the tap. The volatile substance dissolves in water and does not cause tears.

Experience 2. A few hours in front of a monitor or TV.

A few hours in front of the monitor - and you want to cry because your eyes are already very tired from the flickering of the screen and the constant running around of computer characters. When we watch TV, the number of blinking movements of the eyelid decreases, and therefore, fewer tears come to the eyes. This means that the protective tear film thins faster and there is a feeling of dryness. (Appendix 8).

Experience 3. Why does it hurt so much when shampoo gets into my eyes? And what is the secret of the so-called "tears-free shampoos"?

Shampoo consists of substances that are supposed to corrode grease and dirt. They are called "Surface active substances» (surfactant). These substances wash away the protective film from the eyes and penetrate into the living tissue of the eye, and this acts on the nerves and causes pain and burning.

You can get rid of discomfort by washing your eyes with clean water. Or you can use baby shampoo “without tears”. It also contains substances that corrode the protective film of the eye, but they are less aggressive and if they get into the eyes, although they wash away the tear film, they are too large to penetrate into the tissue. And that means pain is gone. (Annex 9).

CONCLUSION

In the course of research, I found out that people really cry from emotional experiences (joy, stress, resentment), and women cry more often because of this.

The ability to cry is one way to express your feelings.

Tears are for the body the best protection. They remove toxic toxins, promote rapid healing of wounds, and have a calming effect.

Therefore my hypotheses : a person cries from emotional experiences,tears - protection of the body - confirmed.

So, if you hurt yourself, cry for your health - it will heal faster!!!

Crying is very helpful!

Let's turn to the theory In a plant cell there are all organelles that are characteristic of a living cell: the nucleus, the endoplasmic reticulum, ribosomes, mitochondria, the Golgi apparatus. At the same time, it differs from a living cell in essential structural features: - a strong cell wall of considerable thickness; - special organelles - plastids, in which primary synthesis occurs organic matter from mineral due to the energy of light; - a developed system of vacuoles, which largely determines the osmotic properties of cells.

The plant cell, like the animal cell, is surrounded by a cytoplasmic membrane, but, in addition to it, it is limited by a thick cell wall consisting of cellulose, which animals do not have. The cell wall has pores through which the channels of the endoplasmic reticulum of neighboring cells communicate with each other. The vacuoles are surrounded by a membrane and develop cisterns of the endoplasmic reticulum. Vacuoles contain dissolved proteins, carbohydrates, low-molecular products of synthesis, vitamins, and various salts. The osmotic pressure created by substances dissolved in the vacuolar juice leads to the fact that water enters the cell, which causes turgor - the stressed state of the cell wall. Turgor and thick elastic cell walls provide plant strength to static and dynamic loads.

We set ourselves the hypothesis: "If you cut onions in an underwater mask, then we will not cry." Equipment: bow, knife, cutting board, underwater mask, camera. Participants: Petrova Sveta. Time: 12:00. Artwork description: Sveta put on an underwater mask. On the table is a cutting board, an onion head, a knife.

Time 12:20. Sveta cut the onion into a paste-like mass, and so far there are no tears in her eyes. Our team is crying, standing next to Sveta. Time 12:23 - the experiment is completed. Conclusion: We justified the hypothesis. Indeed, if you cut an onion in an underwater mask, then we will not cry. The experiment took 23 minutes.

We put before ourselves a hypothesis: "If we cut a meadow with a husk behind our ears, then we will not cry." Equipment: bow, knife, cutting board, underwater mask, camera. Participants: Ivanova Sveta. Time: 13:00. Artwork description: Sveta put the husk behind the ears. On the table is a cutting board, an onion head, a knife.

At 13:02 Sveta started the task. After Sveta cut the onion into two halves, we asked her how she was feeling. After making sure that there were no tears in her eyes, we continued the experiment. Time 13:04 - Sveta continued to cut the onion, and after 1 minute 22 seconds Sveta felt a slight burning sensation in her eyes. Experiment progress:

From the experiments we conducted and the literature we studied, we refuted our main hypothesis and made the following conclusions: The gas released from the onion cells when we cut it, and not at all strong smell makes us cry. When this gas interacts with the mucous membrane of our eyes (or rather, with its water component), sulfuric acid is formed, which irritates the mucous membranes of the nose and eyes.

And finally, a few recommendations: Very good to use for cutting onions sharp knife, which will allow you to quickly grind it, and thereby reduce the release of gas. Other good idea: cut off the onion root last or not cut at all, since this is the part that produces the most harmful gas. And the least shy of us can just put on the right goggles and chop onions to our heart's content.

Introduction One day I saw my little sister
Anya was crying. I became very interested
where do tears come from? Are they helpful? From
what do they consist of? Why do we cry for
Luke?

The purpose of the study: to study why we cry and to investigate where tears come from, their composition.

Tasks:
- learn how tears appear;
- find out how tears are useful;
What are tears made of?
- figure out why they are salty;
- try to conduct an experiment with a tear yourself.

Hypothesis:
find out what tears or tears are -
is excess water in our body and
when there is a lot of it, we want to cry,
or tears are needed by our body and
he makes them himself;
let's say they're salty, because
there is salt in the human body;

Object of study: human tears
the old Russian form from the Old Slavonic language meant - "rinse, make clean."

Subject of study: process
the appearance of a tear

Research methods: analysis
literature and Internet sources;
experiment; own observations and
findings.

How do tears appear?

-In our eyes there is a special bag in which
water and through a special vessel flows out of our eyes in the form
tears. But how do they get into this bag?
Tears are a clear liquid produced by the lacrimal
eye gland.
The lacrimal glands constantly produce tears. Tears
enter the eye through a small duct that opens into
outer corner of the eye. Every time you blink your eyelids
spread the tear in a thin layer over the surface of the eye. Then
tears flow through the tubule located at the inner
edge of the eye, closer to the nose. These tubes end in
nasopharynx, where “used” tears flow.

.
Tears are constantly flowing.
Tears contain the enzyme lysozyme
which neutralizes bacteria, and does not give
cause dangerous infections.
Tears are one of the most important elements
our body.
A thin tear film covers the surface
eyes with every movement of the eyelid, it serves
eye lubricant. Thus, such
film protects our eyes from exposure
air and all sorts of parasites called
microbes.

Are tears helpful?
It turns out that tears contain psychotropic
substances that relieve stress
and it is for this reason that weeping brings us
relief. So our tears are very important
functional element of our body.
Crying well is always good! And not
only for the eyes, but also the nasopharynx. Our tears
wash and kill bacteria. When the body
sick, and there are a lot of bacteria in it,
then the temperature rises
and a defensive reaction of the body is triggered.
There is tearing.

So, I found out that:
tears are involved in the flow nutrients cornea
eyes;
perform a protective function - they cleanse the eye from
foreign objects;
when tears are released, the surface of the eye becomes wet
tears can be an accompaniment of emotions (tears during
crying or laughing.)
when a person cries, lacrimation usually occurs - this is
active selection a large number tears.
And so that tears do not leave edema and swelling, cry
you need it right - in a cool room, sitting and not
wiping with a handkerchief.

In general, what does our tear consist of? From what substance?
Tears are mainly composed of: WATER; BELKOV; FAT; SALT; SODA;
Our tears do not linger on the surface of the skin, because they are covered with thick oily
film, it contains lipids (an extensive group of natural organic
compounds, including fats and fat-like substances).
Therefore, the tears that flow down our cheeks taste salty. Our tears
These are not the saltiest tears in the world.
For example, the body of sea gulls that feed on ocean fish contains
a large number of salt. Tears help seagulls get rid of excess salt, then
eat salt is excreted from the body with tears, which means that tears contain it very much
lot.
If birds remove excess harmful salt with tears, then maybe a person
crying, also gets rid of something harmful?
When we experience strong emotions or pain, our brain releases substances that
signaling excitement or harmful stress, and our body
produces special stress hormones. Scientists have indeed found
tear fluid some of these signaling substances and stress hormones. That
eating tears help us get rid of excess substances that are formed in
the result of strong emotions. As these substances are removed, we
we start to calm down. Many people say that after they cry, they feel
a feeling of freshness, like after a cool summer rain. Of course you shouldn't cry
day and night long, but crying a little sometimes is not harmful, but very
good for our health.
Crying really relieves stress. However, scientists recommend crying not
over 20 minutes. Otherwise, bags under the eyes, redness, and,
finally, crying can turn into a tantrum, which will aggravate your condition. Maybe,
I’m burning with tears and you won’t help, but you’ll definitely relieve nervous tension.

Why do we cry from onions? Is it possible to chop an onion and not
cry?
Tearing increases to protect the eye. It's natural
our body's response.
That's how I started cutting onions....
Still, the onion made me cry ...
Studies have shown that if onions are frozen before peeling, then
the activity of the lachrymator is sharply reduced. And now he finds his
explanation of why an onion is cleaned by wetting it or a knife with water - lachrymator
dissolves in water and is practically not released into the air.
Now I'm certainly not afraid of onions. He won't make me cry.
I defeated him.
Now I know why adults moisten it and the knife before peeling onions.
water - the substance is practically not released into the air, since
dissolves in water. This I have tested and proved from my own experience.
However, eating onions is essential. Moreover, it excites
appetite and helps in better absorption of nutrients by the body.
Health needs more attention. And if you will
periodically eat onions, then you will definitely strengthen your
health and wellness!
Therefore, do not be afraid to cry, peeling the onion, but think about the benefits,
that it will bring to your body.

Conclusion:

In my research, I found that people really
cry from emotional experiences (joy, stress,
resentment), and more often because of this, women cry.
Tears are the best protection for the body. They bring out
poisonous toxins, contribute to the rapid healing of wounds,
have a calming effect.
The ability to cry is one way to express your
feelings.
Their main task is that on a pain signal
lacrimal glands begin to secrete biologically active
substances that accelerate the healing of wounds or bruises.
So if you're hurt, cry to your health - faster
will live!!!
Crying is very helpful!
