The surface pump can also be installed next to the reservoir, if in this position it will be more convenient for you to use it.
Keep in mind that the suction depth of conventional (relatively inexpensive) surface pumps is from 5 to 9 m, depending on the model and power. But if you buy a more expensive surface hydraulic structure with an ejector (from the Latin ejector - ejector), then its suction depth will be significantly greater - up to 40 m.
Surface pumps come in various modifications, the main of which (the most needed on the farm) I will list:
- Vortex designed for pumping clean water; the essence of their work is the vortex-like pumping of water under high pressure.
- Centrifugal(single-stage and multi-stage), which also pump only clean water, but the essence of their work is somewhat different than that of vortex ones. They are launched using the centrifugal force of one or more impellers and are considered more reliable than vortex ones (respectively, they are more expensive).
- Self-priming pumps are capable of pumping clean water with air.
- liquid ring pumps can pump not only water with air, but also diesel fuel with fuel oil.
- Portable-portable self-priming, capable of removing air from the water; Due to the specific design, they are very convenient and compact.
Submersible pumps
Submersible pumps can be used in shallow and deep wells. According to their purpose and tasks, submersible pumps are divided into four subtypes:
- Well, used in both partial immersion mode and full immersion mode. Almost all models of such pumps operate in automatic mode and are equipped with a float switch that turns off the hydraulic structure when the water level drops below the critical level.
- Downhole, as the name implies, are used if you need to raise water from deep. They are able to pump water contaminated with mechanical impurities and earth.
- Drainage, as already mentioned, are used to pump out slightly polluted waters from a shallow depth, are indispensable if you need a summer cottage.
- Fecal used in the arrangement.
