Games to kill time. How to stop using computer games as a way to procrastinate or put off doing more important but boring tasks? How to convince yourself to do what is important, and not what is killing time?

Using games to kill time is one of the good examples how we escape from real problems.

You need to understand that games are just some activity, some process. When they become a problem, it is a signal that something does not suit us, so we begin to look for the reason why we are running away from what we are actually running from. Butter oil, oh well.

What is it? Anxiety, stress, boredom?

It is clear that we strive to get rid of or quickly complete an activity or process that is somehow unpleasant or uninteresting to us. Or we just don't see much point in it. These can be assignments at work or tasks that you yourself set for yourself, because this is required to achieve some important result in the future. At first glance, everything is logical.

Despite the obvious simplicity, I had many cases when, instead of doing business, I chose absolutely illogical, but definitely more an exciting activity- video games. If at the time when I was a gamer, it was still somehow justified, then when I finally stopped playing games, it became a real problem. I did not know how to escape from the tedious work.

I came to the point that my brain refused to focus on the process I needed, even if it was important to me.

Sometimes we use games to take our minds off boring, sluggish activities. The excuse I gave myself went something like this:

"You're too tired, it's hard to concentrate now. You need rest, a break, a change of activity. Great option- play, unwind. As soon as you restore your strength and continue your work with new energy.

I lied to myself because I knew that after playing computer games, my ability to concentrate dropped even lower. Yes, I managed to distract myself, but it was impossible to say that my eyes or nerves were rested. Knowing all this, I still kept saying the same thing to myself. Moreover, the time that you plan to allocate for rest should definitely be taken with a margin. It turns out that your efficiency is already low, and you make it even lower. After the action that you see in the game world, you show yourself that this is the most boring thing in the world.

The bad news is that avid gamers have a slightly twisted perception of events. real world, accordingly, your brain does not always give a correct assessment of this or that process in terms of its fascination.

Playing games on breaks widens the chasm even further, and when you have to return to a delayed task, your mood drops even lower.

So you can't use games to kill time? It turns out that way. I am not a supporter of totalitarianism, but there is a scientific justification for this, and I myself have observed it many times: computer games make it difficult to focus on “boring, adult” tasks. It takes some time to restore your concentration at work. Even small breaks between serious work on games will have a bad effect on the final result.

How to be? What to do?

For example, today I spent all day writing a contract, and it sucks. Even realizing that I will be well paid for it, that its implementation in the company will make the world a little better, this occupation is incredibly boring, it does not inspire me. Accordingly, it is very easy to find a hundred reasons why I could postpone writing it until later.

What I've done? Initially, any large projects need to learn how to plan. Better on paper. The work plan is divided into blocks, which in turn are divided into even smaller blocks, in the end they should be calculated for 15-20 minutes continuous work only with them.

If the process cannot be divided into structural parts of 20 minutes, you can simply set a timer. Time is up - take a break. You don't need to go to the break social media, read the news, watch TV. It is better to call a friend, go for a walk, do a warm-up or meditate.

Then get back to work. 20 minutes have passed - take a break. Meditation, by the way, is a great way to get to know yourself and better focus on what you really need. The ability to concentrate is the same skill as the ability to skate. Meditation is one of the practices that are great for developing it.

Since I spend no more than twenty minutes doing a boring activity, it does not allow me to burn out emotionally or get tired physically. Any negative energy tends to accumulate, which as a result discourages the desire to do business or slows it down very much.

When it comes to motivation, you have to remember why you do what you do, what is the result of all this. So if you catch yourself getting distracted, take a couple of minutes to remind yourself why what you're trying to do is important. And if it's not important, then maybe, uh, it's not worth wasting time on.

The need to avoid problems is inherent in every person. It's about satisfying her without resorting to computer games or the internet. Meditation, exercise, frequent short breaks, a walk, etc. - all this good options to succeed in your business without harming what is truly important.

Don't forget to share useful materials with friends! Good luck.

Many of us have an Android phone in our pocket. What to do when there is a car of free time, and for some reason there is absolutely nothing to do with yourself? That's right, exciting games will come to the rescue. For your review, the TOP 10 most exciting games are presented. Of course, some readers may be indignant that their favorite games and the TOP would not be there otherwise. But, as they say, the taste and color ...

So, TOP-10. Go.

10. Fallout Shelter

This is a strategy about the world of Fallout. According to the story, you get one of the Vaults that you control. This is expressed in the construction living rooms, stations, canteens and other premises for full functioning and self-sufficiency. For each job, it is necessary to select workers according to the parameters. After the distribution of the inhabitants to the workplaces, all the remaining ones can be sent to the Wasteland for the extraction of equipment and in search of new settlers.

This game is designed for the ability to distribute available resources as efficiently as possible. The resources are food (supports the health of the population), electricity (ensures the proper operation of all premises) and water (protects against radiation). Wrong placement of workers, attack by mutants or raiders, overpopulation - all resources begin to wane.

Graphically, the developers have focused on nostalgia. And they weren't wrong. A lot of things have moved here from the previous parts of the Fallout universe: pip-boy, Butch, antiradin and more.

Because of this very nostalgia, the game got into our rating. I would like to briefly plunge into the good old universe with post-apocalyptic life.

9. Modern Combat 5

The most interesting and addictive shooter is, and not without reason, Modern Combat 5. This game is a Call of Duty clone for mobile devices. Gameloft has always been in awe of the entire line of this game, trying to bring something new and interesting with each new part.

As in most shooters, the plot does not shine with originality. But there is plenty of shooting at enemies on the ground and in the sky. The single player campaign is long, consisting of 6 chapters. Throughout the game, you will play the role of a sniper, a member of a clearing team, a scout, etc. If you decide to re-pass the mission in the campaign, then the enemy will spawn differently, that is, it will not work to track and remember the movements of the bots, which adds interest to the game.

There are 4 character classes to choose from: attack aircraft, sniper, scout and infantryman. They are available in both the single player campaign and multiplayer. For completing tasks and killings, experience is awarded.

Gameloft has always been famous for its graphics in games. Modern Combat 5 is no exception. The highest level drawings, many small details, partial destructibility of the world, the play of the sun, splashes - it's all there. The picture attracts attention with depth and colors, you want to admire it for as long as possible.

Management in such games is a disaster. Despite the fact that all controls can be moved around the screen, customizing them for yourself, the first 1-2 battles will still be uncomfortable. Then there is no trace of him.

Donat was completely removed from the game. The development of their skills and weapons is only due to the experience gained.

Multiplayer is represented by 5 modes:

  • Free play.
  • VIP (personal protection).
  • Squad battle.
  • Capture the Flag.
  • Team game.

The optimization is to be commended. Even on average smartphones, the game looks juicy, giving out high FPS. The only negative is that even in the single player campaign, the Internet connection must be turned on.

Reasons why the game is attractive:

  1. Very beautiful graphics;
  2. Excellent game world;
  3. Lack of real investments;
  4. Multiplayer;
  5. Optimization.
  • Buggy;
  • Bigfoot;
  • Rally;
  • SUVs;
  • Pickups;
  • Muscle cars;
  • Sports trucks.

Some cars are sold only for crystals, that is, you need to invest money.

Each car is amazingly beautifully drawn. The same goes for any track in the game. They are amazingly detailed. During the race, the eyes do not have time to enjoy the beauty of the picture. To take a good look at everything, there is a desire to slow down. Although the graphics engine inherited from Asphalt 8 has not changed much.

The gameplay itself also remained the same: the same arcade, the same nitro tanks, the same pushing opponents off the track.

Cars can be upgraded, improved with different accelerators. At the end of the race, they offer to do MOT, which will take a few minutes. The race also offers players 8-person multiplayer.

Asphalt Xtreme is an excellent racing arcade game with great graphics, interesting races and tracks, and a beautiful environment.
