Several hundred art objects will decorate the capital these days. These include modern lighting structures created using the latest technologies, and decorations that were used about half a century ago and restored from old photographs.

Pedestrian areas where street celebrations will take place will be especially brightly illuminated. The fireworks display on City Day in Moscow in 2019 promises to be an unforgettable spectacle. However, let's talk about everything in order.

The cost of the excursion and the “City Day on the 58th Floor” fireworks display is set by the organizer.

Previously, Muscovites and residents of the capital knew exactly when City Day in Moscow 2017 was, because the holiday was held on a specific September weekend. But then the date became floating and, unfortunately, this happened not without reason, but in connection with tragic events. The celebration of City Day in Moscow was postponed once and since then, each year has its own special date, but within the time allocated for this.

Deputies of the Moscow City Duma, in the first reading, approved amendments to the legislation, which lead to the fact that the capital’s City Day will now have a floating date. If earlier this holiday was always celebrated on the first September weekend, now the holiday will have two official dates - the first or second September weekend, and for each year this is decided separately depending on which dates the weekend falls on.

Why was such a bill adopted immediately, and then the mayor of the city also quickly and without questions signed it? The thing is that September 10 would not only be Moscow City Day, but also the Day of Solidarity in the Fight against Terrorism. The second holiday is sad and was established in honor of the hostage taking at a school in Beslan in 2004. It was impossible to allow such important events to be commemorated simultaneously on the same day. Moreover, one event should be joyful, cheerful and accompanied by folk festivities, and the other should be a tragic event, accompanied by the memory of deaths, including the death of children. In honor of the holiday, you can do it.

Due to the postponement of the date mentioned above, this year the capital will celebrate its day on September 9. It turns out that if previously Moscow City Day always fell on the first weekend in September, this year the law was amended and now, depending on the year, the annual celebration of Moscow City Day will be established separately on the first or second weekend of September. When determining the date, not only holidays and memorable days that are nearby, but also weather conditions will be taken into account.

When City Day 2017 is in Moscow, it will be on September 9, and the citizens themselves suggested postponing the celebration of this holiday, and the city government only supported this initiative. For the first time such a proposal was voiced at the beginning of summer, when Sergei Sobyanin spoke on one of the national television channels of our country.

Important! In addition to remembering the victims of the tragedy in Beslan in the first half of September, on this day they also remember and pay tribute to the victims of other tragedies. So, September 4 is the day of remembrance for those killed in the terrorist attack in Buinaksk, September 7 is the day of remembrance for the passengers of the Yak-42, which crashed near Yaroslavl. But on the 8th and 13th of the first month of autumn they mourn for the people who died due to the explosion of houses in the capital on Guryanov Street, as well as on Kashirskoye Highway.

It turns out that in 2017 Moscow will celebrate its City Day on September 9 in a magnificent and bright, interesting way, as always. We remind you that the capital of our homeland is turning 870 years old. Yes, for those who have not carefully read this material, we once again emphasize that Moscow City Day has been postponed this year and now each year the dates for its celebration will be set separately, falling on the first or second weekend in September. The holiday fell on September 9 this year.

Program of events for Moscow City Day 2017

Of course, it should be noted that a large number of people take part in the celebration of this event, and each district of the capital, even the most remote, organizes its own competition and entertainment program.
