Polypropylene pipes: firms and reviews

Replacing water and heating metal pipes with polypropylene pipes allows you to permanently get rid of the shortcomings that cast iron or steel are prone to. Plastic is not subject to corrosion, does not collapse under the influence of low temperature, is light and relatively cheap. Due to the popularity, it is difficult to choose polypropylene pipes: companies offer the consumer a huge range. This article presents consumer reviews, as well as a brief description of the qualities of the most popular pipe industry products in terms of price-quality ratio.

Rating of pipe manufacturers

So, let's proceed to the consideration of products from Czech and Russian polypropylene.

Czech pipes

Ecoplastic pipes of the Czech company WAWIN Ecoplastik

The Ecoplastic system is considered the standard in the world of polypropylene systems. This system from the moment it entered the market was able to prove itself from the best side. It has become quite popular due to the fairly high quality of fittings and pipes made of Ekoplastik polypropylene from WAWIN Ekoplastik s.r.o - Czech Republic.

Czech polypropylene pipes VAVIN Ecoplastic are declared to be used:

  1. for distributing hot and cold water, central and underfloor heating, as well as for distributing air;
  2. PN 10 - for distributing cold water supply and underfloor heating;
  3. PN 16 - for distribution of cold water supply of increased pressure and for pipelines made of polypropylene for central heating of reduced pressure;
  4. PN 20 - for distributing hot water and central heating.

Ecoplastic pipes are produced in the following range:

  • Ecoplastic PP-R pipes, which are all-plastic - PN 10, PN 16, PN 20;
  • Ecoplastik Stabi pipes, which are multilayer - PN 20, consisting of plastic and aluminum foil - inside the plastic;
  • pipes made of polypropylene Fiber;
  • fittings combined and all-plastic.

Fiber polypropylene pipes manufactured by Wavin Ekoplastik, Czech Republic, are reinforced with fiberglass. They are recommended for the device:

  • indoor and outdoor cold water systems;
  • heat supply;
  • hot water, and
  • for hot and
  • cold water.

Fiber pipe welding takes place without surface treatment, that is, in the same way as welding of the most ordinary polypropylene pipes. Fiber pipes have a linear thermal expansion that is 3 times less than that of PPR pipes, which are all-plastic. Fiber pipes have a fairly low weight, but at the same time they protect strength.

FV-Plast pipes

FV-Plast pipes made in the Czech Republic are used for systems:

  • heat supply;
  • warm floor;
  • water supply.

Czech polypropylene pipes are on sale with an aluminum insert, which makes them resistant to temperature changes and rigid. In a fairly wide version, shaped elements are presented, with the help of which it is possible to solve any rather complex problems of heat supply and water supply. There are several types of FV-Plast pipes:

  1. Pipes PP-R are intended for:
  • internal pipelines of cold water;
  • internal hot water pipeline;
  • central heating;
  • underground heating;
  • air ducts;
  • work in industry;
  • work in agriculture.

Pro tip:

These pipes are lightweight and easy to process, making installation simple, quick and safe. The presence of low roughness of the inner wall and the concept of welding can significantly reduce pressure losses in pipelines.

  1. PP-R pipes, consisting of several layers, use the most modern technologies in the field of plastic production - co-extrusion. As a result of this, the useful qualities of several materials are combined in one product.

  1. STABI pipes with an aluminum insert, 4 m long, are designed for:
  • wiring under the floor of hot water;
  • cooling and
  • heating water of heat-conducting heat supply;
  • air-conditioning systems (subject to the benefit of low thermal expansion and high pipe strength). When installing such pipes, there is no need to use support beams.
  1. FASER pipes with fiberglass, with a length of 4 m, are considered universal. Such pipes are designed for fairly demanding wiring:
  • drinking water;
  • heating water;
  • hot water.

Such pipes have high strength and thermal expansion four times lower than PPR pipes, although they weld just as easily. FASER pipes are also ideal for basic heating installations.

Pipes of Russian production

PRO AQUA pipes

PRO AQUA pipes made in Russia are used in a variety of systems:

  • water supply in industrial buildings;
  • water in residential buildings;
  • water supply in administrative buildings;
  • water treatment;
  • heat supply;
  • pneumatic pipelines;
  • technological pipelines.

In pipes, the maximum possible temperature is + 95 ° С.

Pipes made of PRO AQUA propylene serve for a sufficiently long time, are not subject to corrosion, are easy to install, have high chemical resistance of pipelines and fittings, and are also harmless.

According to the tests conducted by the Egoplast company, with a similar marking, the strength of pipes is 1.6 times greater compared to Chinese counterparts. The maximum strength of Pro Aqua pipes can be found in the table.

Pro tip:

Only Russian Pro Aqua pipes are able to withstand a pressure of 79.5 atm, therefore, they can last much longer than other pipes in this price category.

RVC pipes

The Plastik company, which has the RVC trademark, has been producing multilayer pipes from PN 25 polypropylene in Russia for the first time since 2007, using PP-R/Al/PP-R polypropylene for their manufacture. Russian RVK pipes designed for hot water and heat supply systems have a diameter of 20 mm to 50. RVK pipes have internal reinforcement with an aluminum layer located in the middle of the pipe walls, while for reinforced pipes, in contrast, the aluminum layer is located outside. The RVC plant is located in Orenburg.

However, customer reviews have a negative assessment of RVC pipes. The main disadvantage of such pipes is considered to be "walking sizes".

Heisskraft and Santrade pipes

The Russian pipe plant Heisskraft is located in the Moscow region, in the city of Pushkino. Although, as the manufacturer himself claims, reinforced products are produced directly in Germany.

Regarding the quality of Heisskraft pipes, the reviews assure of its quite good level. Many consumers are concerned about the gray color of the product, which is due to the addition of technical carbon black to the composition. This substance has already established itself as an excellent stabilizer for plastic pipes, so it should not cause excitement, but rather please consumers.

As for another Russian-made pipe, Santrade, it is worth noting the absolute absence of reviews on branded products on construction forums. Most likely, she just has not yet acquired the proper level of popularity.

Politek pipes

Although there are different reviews on the Internet regarding the products of TM Politek, we can conclude that its quality is “good, average”. For example, Politek-2000 pipes, which have approximately the same wall thickness as their counterparts, are more susceptible to deformation during compression, according to installers.

As for the installation process itself, it is almost identical to the installation of similar products and will not create any difficulties.

Difficulties may arise with the purchase of Politek polypropylene fittings, as they are not always on sale. For this reason, they should be purchased at the same time as the pipes themselves in order to ensure proper pipeline uniformity.
