Often, a shower in a country house is a simple structure - a cabin plus a plastic or iron barrel of water, located high on the roof. This option has a number of disadvantages, in particular, the instability of the water temperature, which is very hot in the middle of the day and remains quite cold in cloudy weather. Itself can bloom and ends quickly if the shower is used by a large family.

A full-fledged one will allow you to refresh yourself and comfortably take water procedures after work at your summer cottage, just like a city apartment shower. For greater comfort of use, it is recommended to equip it with water heating, a pump and filtration, and insulate it with high quality. Of course, you can buy a finished structure, but building with your own hands will cost many times cheaper.

Water heating options

A country shower involves heating water in one of three possible ways:

  1. Independently from the sun - the water in the tank is heated in the summer from the sun's rays.
  2. With water heating using a condenser - as a condenser, you can use equipment from an old refrigerator, which is painted black and placed against the walls of the tank, the water in it will constantly heat up and circulate back to the tank.
  3. With the help of an electric water heater (heating element) - in the presence of a pipeline, an electric water heater is installed, which will heat the water due to the consumption of electricity.

Options for arranging a tank for a summer shower

The first and second options are only suitable for a summer shower. If you equip a system with heated water, then it can be used both in summer and in the cold season, simply by turning on the heating element.

Wood, brick or polycarbonate?

The easiest way is to build a shower out of wood or polycarbonate with your own hands. The first option is less preferable, since the tree is susceptible to decay and requires annual antiseptic treatment.

  • The wooden structure also has a number of advantages: it is quite strong, a shower room with a dressing room is usually built, it has solid walls and can withstand a voluminous and heavy barrel.

  • A polycarbonate shower cabin is built quite simply and easily dismantled, due to the characteristics of the material itself, it warms up perfectly and retains heat for a long time.
In addition, the polycarbonate frame has excellent antiseptic properties and resistance to mold, and a variety of colors allows you to realize any desire of the owner of the cottage.
  • A brick building will be the most durable, but a capital structure will require more effort and time for construction.

Step-by-step instruction

Site planning and project. First you need to determine where the shower will be installed. It is best to put it on the edge of the site in a well-lit place, on a slight elevation. As for the size, the height of 2-3 meters is considered optimal.
The space that the cabin itself will occupy should be at least 100x100 cm, along with the dressing room, its standard dimensions are 160x100 cm.

A place to build a soul

Cesspool or drain pit equipment. The wastewater drainage system can be combined with a drainage ditch located at a distance of 2-3 meters, or a separate septic pit can be dug. On the surface, the drain must be laid out with a moisture-resistant material - a piece of roofing material, concrete or a waterproofing film will do.
A special mesh is laid on top of it, which will provide the necessary ventilation and prevent the appearance of an unpleasant odor. A layer of crushed stone or sand is laid at the bottom of the drain pit, its walls can be equipped with old car tires. From above, the pit must be covered, for example, with boards, to prevent small children or pets from falling.

Foundation preparation. The installation site must be level. Since the area of \u200b\u200bthe room will be small, it is recommended to build a foundation for stability. At the corners of a rectangle corresponding to the dimensions of the booth plus 10 cm, a pile foundation is poured - a trench 300x300 mm is poured with cement mortar.
In the floor, in addition to the drain pipe, it is recommended to make a low threshold that will separate the shower from the locker room. In the end, a pallet or a do-it-yourself sanded wooden grate is installed on the floor, a rubber mat spreads.

Summer shower frame

Frame construction. If the structure is built with your own hands from wood, then strong bars are used, which are attached to long bolts. Inside, strapping is done - future logs for the floor. Lining, fiberboard, moisture-resistant plywood, painted with drying oil or treated with an antiseptic are used as outer upholstery. For a polycarbonate structure, the frame is made of metal, over which it is sheathed with sheets of opaque polycarbonate 8–16 mm thick. A plastic tray is placed through which the water will drain.

Shower walls can be wood, brick or polycarbonate

In addition, the drip tray can be connected to a drain pipe. The brickwork of the walls is carried out along a plumb line in a checkerboard pattern in half a brick, while first the corners are laid out in 3-4 rows, and then the horizontal of the wall is laid out along the stretched level.

Tank installation. Most often, the tank is also the roof of the building - for this it is better to choose a flat tank, the volume of which is calculated taking into account the number of people who will regularly take a shower. For a family of 4, a 100-liter container is enough.

Example of summer shower equipment inside

The tanks are equipped with heating elements and special taps, connected to the mains. Separately, you should take care of installing a device that indicates the exact amount of liquid in the barrel - this will prevent the heating elements from burning out in case of a lack of water.

Pump and water filtration. If the water supply is carried out according to the scheme: - water tower - water supply, then there is no need to fill the tank with water with your own hands every time, instead a pump is used. You can purify the water with a mechanical filter, which will extend the life of the pump and allow you to remove sand and other large particles from the water.

Finished summer shower design

Door and trim. A tightly closing door, which can also be made polycarbonate, will save you from drafts. First, a frame is constructed, on which loops are hung, after sheathing with polycarbonate, a handle is attached, sealing mechanisms are installed that will keep the heat in the room for a long time.

It is recommended to additionally insulate the structure with materials such as film, polystyrene, mineral wool or expanded polystyrene. This will allow it to be used in the cool season without fear of drafts. Inside, the room can be decorated with any moisture-resistant finishing materials, in particular, brick walls can be decorated with multi-colored tiles.
