Designer solid wood furniture. Solid wood, plastic and veneer furniture Help in making solid wood furniture

Due to its natural origin, this material not only does not contain harmful substances, but also has a beneficial effect on the human body. The overvoltage of the fibers in a solid tree when it dries leads to cracking, while the array, which is lamellas glued together, compensates for this defect by sawing the trunk.

The question of which type of wood is better to choose for the manufacture of interior items is not entirely true. Each variety will be good in certain conditions. The production of designer wood furniture is quite expensive, so glued furniture panels are most often used for mass production.

Our company maintains strict control over each stage of manufacturing products: from drying blanks to coating with environmentally friendly stains and varnishes. To create elite solid wood furniture presented in our online store, we use:

 1. Oak. One of the most sought after materials. Easy to dry, paint and varnish. Differs in long operation.
 2. Beech. Most often used in the form of a solid tree. Wood from pink-yellow to reddish-brown hue, which is characterized by a special plasticity.
 3. cherry. It acquires a darker shade over time, which looks harmonious in combination with glass and refined carvings.
 4. Maple. Differs in heaviness, density and durability. The unusually beautiful texture is especially characteristic of the Canadian maple.
 5. Nut. Heavy and hard, however, these characteristics do not complicate its processing. Black walnut is the most valued.

In our store you will always find high-quality solid wood furniture from a Russian manufacturer. All presented samples are made of precious woods, which means that they will delight you with their originality and beauty for many years, and with proper care, they will pass from one generation to another.

In this article:

Solid wood furniture is steadily gaining popularity among consumers. It is beautiful, environmentally friendly, has high performance. Having solid wood furniture in the house is prestigious, so it will be in demand, and therefore make a profit. But how to create a worthy offer?

Features of the organization and development of the production of solid wood furniture

When planning to open a business for the production of solid wood furniture, you should pay attention to a few general nuances:

 1. Solid wood furniture- a product of the highest price category. But the expensive cost of production will not pay off only with the concept of "naturalness" - there must be originality, an idea, an interesting design and high quality at all stages of the technological process from the purchase of raw materials to packaging and proper storage of the finished product;
 2. The main buyer of such furniture- people with incomes above the average level. Assess the consumer segment in your region - will it meet your expectations?
 3. Solid wood furniture is strong and durable, therefore, it will not be replaced soon due to operational wear. But because of the change in interior design - yes. Therefore, an enterprise with a serial production cycle must be ready for the constant development of the assortment, tracking new ideas and fashion trends in order to anticipate the desires of the buyer;
 4. The best option for a small enterprise for the production of solid wood furniture- work under specific orders.
 5. So that production does not stand idle, you need to have an extensive dealer network. At the initial stage, it is not necessary to open your own showrooms. It will be enough to issue an advertising catalog with a range of products and agreements with construction companies, shops, etc. It does not hurt to get your own Internet resource with product advertisements, photos of production and contacts - today many consumers are looking for furniture through the World Wide Web.
 6. Demand for solid wood furniture characterized by seasonality: from May to August, sales fall (July-August and January are considered "low season", during which production may be idle); from September to April - increase. The peak of activity falls on November-December.

Organizational issues for starting a business

Legal form, documents and standards

The choice of the form of doing business depends on the planned production volumes. At the initial stage, you can limit yourself to private entrepreneurship, especially if you make custom-made furniture in small volumes. But if mass production is planned, you cannot do without a law firm. For ease of settlements with suppliers and customers (legal entities, government agencies), the easiest way is to choose an LLC on the general taxation system.

A license is not required for the production of solid wood furniture, but in order for the products to receive a quality certificate, the following norms and standards must be observed:

 • GOST 16371-93 “Furniture. General technical conditions”;
 • GOST 19917-93 “Furniture for sitting and lying. General technical conditions”;
 • GOST 19194-73 “Furniture. Method for determining the strength of fastening of decoy legs of furniture”;
 • GOST 13715-78 “Joinery plates. Specifications";
 • GOST R 54208-2010 “Protective and decorative coatings for furniture made of wood and wood-based materials. Classification and designations.

Choice OKVED depends on what exactly is planned to be produced, and how the products will be sold (wholesale, retail).

The following activity codes might be useful:

 • 36.12 Manufacture of furniture for offices and trade establishments;
 • 36.13 Manufacture of kitchen furniture;
 • 36.14 Manufacture of other furniture
 • 51.15.1 Activities of wholesalers of household furniture;
 • 51.47.11 Wholesale of household furniture;
 • 52.44.1 Retail sale of furniture;
 • 52.44.5 Retail sale of wood products, cork and wickerwork;
 • 52.61.2 Retail sale carried out directly by means of television, radio, telephone and the Internet;

Raw materials for the production of solid wood furniture: wood to wood is different

For the manufacture of solid wood furniture, you can use:

 • finished furniture panels (GOST 13715-78),
 • edged solid board (edge edged board GOST 8486-86).

The most popular types of wood: pine, birch, beech, hornbeam, alder, larch.

Accessories can be both domestic and imported (at the request of the customer). The greatest "trust" of buyers are handles and fasteners made of stainless steel, bronze, chrome-plated steel.

Pay special attention to paint and varnish products - they are selected depending on the type and properties of wood, and must comply with GOST 31093-2003 “Paint and varnish materials for furniture. General technical conditions".

Requirements for a production facility for the manufacture of solid wood furniture

The size of the room depends on the production capacity, but in any case, you should count on the following divisions:

 • dryer - a place where boards or a board will "ripen" to be put into production;
 • workshop where woodworking machines will be located;
 • assembly room;
 • room for paintwork;
 • finished products warehouse.

Basic requirement for mini wood furniture factory– the possibility of heating and controlling the level of humidity in all rooms. The remaining requirements are standard: the presence of a 3-phase network, access roads and a platform for unloading raw materials and materials, ventilation, water.

Solid wood furniture production technology

There are two options for the production cycle:

 • short- ready-made panels become raw materials for the production of furniture, which are polished, sawn to fit certain parts and varnished;
 • full- the raw materials are boards, which are first converted into shields, and then parts for furniture are made.

The first way is optimal for small productions with small volumes. The second one is beneficial for large and medium-sized enterprises.

The complete technological process for the production of solid wood furniture looks like this:

1. It all starts with the idea of furniture production, a certain type and design, which is embodied in a working sketch. For example, for this production process of making furniture from wood, the idea was a bed with roomy floor niches and rounded corners.

2. Based on the design sketch, designers and technologists develop three-dimensional models and working drawings of the future product.

3. A pine board was chosen for production. The soft wood of coniferous trees is easy to process, resistant to fungus and mold, and has a positive effect on health. Pine comes to production in the form of boards, with natural moisture content of 40-60%.

4. The board must be well dried, so it is sent to a drying chamber - a room where hot air is blown with the help of fans directly onto the racks with raw materials. The board is dried for 10-12 days, until its humidity drops to 80% of its original values.

5. The prepared board is sent for the dissolution of the furniture board. The multi-saw machine removes the bark and cuts the board according to the given dimensions into blanks.

6. Of the resulting lamellas, only the central parts will go into production, without the bark (the rest is used to heat the drying chamber in order to reduce heating and electricity costs).

7. Using a cross cutting machine, knots, resin pockets, twisted fiber areas and other defects are cut out.

Inside the wood monolith there is a strong stress of the tree, it is because of it that solid wood products often warp and crack. Sawing wood compensates for this stress, so solid wood furniture is stronger and more durable than solid board.

8. To get lamellas for furniture, the bars must be spliced along the length. To do this, the blanks are laid out on the table, aligned along the edge and pressed with a press from above and on the sides.

9. A rotary saw cuts a tenon-and-groove connection in the fixed workpieces. Then the lamellas are turned over and a connection is cut out for docking on the reverse side. The "thorn groove" is similar to a comb, which creates an additional area for gluing blanks into a single shield.

10. The slats are placed on a docking machine, which is equipped with special compression rollers that guide the workpieces so that the spikes fit into the grooves.

11. When the programmed length is reached, the slats are cut and sent to the press. The thorn with a groove is closed, forming a strong connection.

12. The slats are polished on both sides, glued together on fan press taking into account guide fibers and annual rings to prevent warping and cracking of the future product. The shield is held in the press for 40-50 minutes - the time required for the glue to harden.

13. On a tape-cutting machine, the shield is formed to the desired dimensions, after which the lamella is cut on a thicknessing machine on each side.

14. On a calibrating-grinding machine, the shield acquires a given thickness by sawing into sheets of certain sizes.

15. Since soft wood is used in the production to give the product strength, it is necessary to protect the array by “wrapping” all the details with veneer trim. Separately, hardwood veneer is prepared: cut, sorted by hand according to the shade and structure of the tree.

16. The sorted strips are sewn together in a zigzag pattern with hot-melt thread, which gives the joint extra strength.

17. The method of gluing the veneer to the furniture board depends on what shape the part needs to be faced with:

 • flat slabs veneered on a press - the veneer is pressed against the board, on which the adhesive base is applied, for 3 minutes under a pressure of 2 atm;
 • complex radius parts, which are made separately - on a membrane-vacuum press.

18. Lined parts are sent to a drilling and filler machine, in the program of which a scan of the mounting holes is entered for future joining of furniture parts.

19. The manufacture of individual parts of furniture takes place on automated machines according to specified parameters. The drilling group makes all the necessary cuts and cutouts. Here, a veneer edge is applied to the cuts.

20. Finished parts are sent to the control assembly of the product, where it is checked:

 • accuracy of joining parts,
 • the presence of all holes,
 • equipment,
 • size matching.

After checking, the product is disassembled and sent for grinding and painting.

21. All parts are ground 3 times (abrasives of different grain sizes are used). Not only the smoothness of the product, but the uniform coating of varnish and paint depends on the quality of grinding.

22. Painting is carried out in a room with a water curtain that removes the suspension of stain and varnish.

The process takes place in several stages:

 • stain toning,
 • drying,
 • application of 3 layers of polyurethane varnish (with drying of each layer for at least 2 hours),
 • painting (depending on the design of the model).

23. After the varnish has completely dried (at least 16 hours), the product is packed and sent to the finished product warehouse.

Equipment for the production of solid wood furniture

As practice shows, manufacturers of solid wood furniture rarely use full technological cycle, preferring to buy ready-made furniture boards made of various types of wood, veneered or with other coatings, for a certain batch of orders.

The second option is to separate these two productions: to make a shield both for your own needs and for sale in a workshop located not far from the raw material base (logging). And furniture production should be concentrated separately, closer to the sales markets.

But to calculate a business plan, consider the option of a full cycle. For production, you will need the following equipment:

 • Circular saw for cutting wide boards - 68,000 rubles,
 • Planer - 70,000 rubles,
 • Thicknessing machine - 136,000 rubles.
 • Drilling and grooving machine - 51,000 rubles,
 • Milling machine - 75,000 rubles,
 • Turning and milling copy machine - 153,000 rubles,
 • Grinding machine - 78200 rubles,
 • Spray gun, painting booth - 136,000 rubles,
 • Auxiliary tools - 70,000 rubles.

Total: 837,200 rubles.

Of which 837,200 rubles. will be spent on the purchase of the necessary equipment, the rest - on the purchase of raw materials, materials, rent and other aspects of the economic activity of the enterprise.

9. Costs and cost

Calculation of costs and prime cost of solid wood furniture (for example, an oak cabinet)

Cost of 1 r.m. Furniture = (Fixed Costs/Annual Output) + Variable Costs.

fixed costs

Fixed costs (per year) include:

 • room rental - 600,000 rubles,
 • utilities - 81,600 rubles,
 • depreciation - 166,600 rubles,
 • salary - 1,126,080 rubles,
 • payroll taxes (37.5%) - 422,280 rubles,
 • advertising costs - 81,600 rubles.

Total: RUB 2,478,160

Unforeseen expenses (reserve fund -2% of the amount of fixed costs) - 49563.20 rubles.

Total fixed costs - 2,527,723.2 rubles.

variable costs

Variable costs (calculation per unit of production):

 • raw materials - 0.143 m 3 * 8500 rubles = 1215.50 rubles,
 • paints and varnishes - (7.3 m 3 * 150 g) = 1.095 l * 170 rubles / liter = 186.15 rubles,
 • accessories - (2 handles, 4 brackets, screws, screws) = 170 rubles.

Total: RUB 1,571.65

Calculation of the cost of production for the first year of operation: 2,527,723.2/360 + 1,571.65 = RUB 8,593.10

10. Break even point

Break-even point calculation = Fixed costs / (Profit per 1 product - Variable costs per 1 product) = 2,527,723.2 / (10,800-1,571.65) = 273.91 m.p.

Break-even of the enterprise will be ensured by the sale of 273.91 m.p. in the first year of production.

11. Financial results - forecast

Projected financial results for the first year of operation:

 • Revenue = (10,800 rubles * 360 m. p.) = 3,888,000 rubles,
 • Cost price = (8593.1 * 360 m. p.) = 3,093,516 rubles,
 • Profit from sales = (3,888,000 - 3,093,516) = 794,484 rubles,
 • Loan payments (% per year) = 256,065.90 rubles,
 • Income tax = (794,484 - 256,065.90) = 107,683.62 rubles,
 • Net profit = (794,484 - 256,065.90 - 107,683.62) = 430,734.48 rubles

12. Calculation of profitability and payback

Product profitability= (Profit from sales / Cost price) * 100% = (794,484 rubles / 3,093,516 rubles) * 100% = 26%.

Rate of return= (Net profit / Investment) * 100% = (430,734.48 rubles / 1,707,000) * 100% = 25%

The payback period of the project is 3 years, 9 months.
