— Aleksey Nikolaevich, everyone knows that spring exacerbations of many diseases occur due to a decrease in the consumption of vitamins, changes in meteorological factors. Isn't it true?

- If this were so, then all people on Earth would have some exacerbations with the onset of spring, but this does not happen. In my deep conviction, the cause of seasonal ailments is quite different. Spring is the time of the awakening of nature, love, joy. And against this background, people who are offended by someone, who are unlucky in life, feel even more disadvantaged. Their mood deteriorates even more, then this state turns into a depressive one. Many of these patients - and these are mostly women - even say that they do not want to live.

Negative emotions adversely affect the entire body. If you have a dog, then you know that the tail is an indicator of its mood: when it is happy, it wags it, when it is angry or frightened, it tightens it. In humans, smooth muscles serve as such a "tail".

When a person is frightened, he shudders. If we are in a bad mood, then the muscles tense up, a vasospasm occurs. As a result - oxygen starvation, metabolic disorders - hence the disease. Doctors prescribe all kinds of medicines to such a patient, but they do not help, because he does not need medicine, but peace of mind.

Can a person notice for himself when his bad mood turns into a disease - depression?

- A bad mood can be temporary - a person received bad news or quarreled with someone, and it deteriorated for him. But in life there are many pleasant moments that return him to his former state, he is again cheerful and cheerful. Depression is a long-term state of bad mood, no matter what. A woman wakes up in the morning, and she does not want to open her eyes, to see this world. By evening, she is more or less cheered up, calmed down, but the next morning she is again in sadness. And this can go on for several months, and no medicine helps.

In my opinion, depression is not a disease, but a state of mind of a person. And if we change this state - and this is exactly what I am doing - then there will never be any depressive changes, including spring ones.

As I understand from your story, women are more prone to depression than men. Why?

By nature, women are very different from men. They are more emotional, sensitive, they think more about the problems that arise in life, especially in relationships with people - parents, husband, girlfriends. In addition, men find opportunities to somehow relax, get away from worrying problems - drink, go to the bathhouse, tinker with the car in the garage, go fishing or hunting away from all this. And women, as a rule, do not allow themselves this.

By the way, recently, which is surprising for me, there is a clear "rejuvenation" of depression. If a few years ago women aged 40-50 and older came to me in this state, that is, mainly in connection with menopause, today most of my patients are not even thirty.

- In recent years, many new drugs have appeared that help restore peace of mind. Which of them do you recommend to your patients?

- I am categorically against all drugs - not only psychotropic drugs, tranquilizers, but even sleeping pills, because many times I have encountered the sad consequences of their use. We seem to temporarily help the patient, relieve overexcitation, but the person gets used to the drugs and he needs ever larger doses. And as a result, he becomes a drug addict, although he himself does not suspect it. Meanwhile, it is not removed from taking medications, but, on the contrary, is delayed. Not only that, after taking psychotropic drugs, a person does not belong to himself, as if zombified, but they also cause serious complications - diseases of the liver and kidneys. Metabolism is disturbed, immunity is reduced.

It is also very dangerous to prolong depression, especially if it is associated with resentment against a man, against a husband. I have long known that such an insult leads either to some kind of female pathology, for example, to infertility, or even to cancer, and also of a gynecological plan. Of course, it takes several months, and maybe even years, until this is discovered.

What then to be treated, if not medicines?

- Psychotherapy, like all other areas of medicine, has risen to a new, higher level in recent years. Very effective methods have been developed that allow a person to take a different look at himself, at life, change the stereotypes of his thinking, attitude to the surrounding reality.

In order to cope with depression and the trail of diseases that trails behind it, it is necessary to find and eliminate its underlying causes, which the patient or patient, perhaps, no longer remembers. By the way, women are very receptive, it is easier to work with them than with men. They quickly understand what I expect from them, their eyes open, their mood immediately changes.

How can you change your outlook on life if it keeps giving us unpleasant surprises?

Imagine a crystal vase. If a woman only sees that there is dirt in the vase, then she is depressed. And you need to help her admire this vase - how beautiful it is, what graceful edges, what a wonderful play of light. It is important to see joy in everything, and you will not become subject to any seasonal mood swings, you will constantly be in a state of inner comfort.

- You just talked about depression associated with resentment. If someone offended me greatly - how can I forget it?

- From resentment, a woman's heart is heavy. Where is she? As a rule, patients point to the area of ​​the solar plexus. I invite them to sit back, relax, close their eyes and see their resentment inwardly. That is, mentally, as it were, launch a device into the place where it bubbles. At first the woman does not see anything, then some flashes. And after that, which is surprising even for me, spiritual heaviness is concretized in the form of a spot, a geometric figure, a ball. Very often, patients say that this ball consists of many internal balls, which means that resentments are layered one on top of the other. And when a woman sees the image of her resentment, concentrates her attention on it, this image dissolves and disappears completely. She tells me: how easy it became in my soul, I have not experienced such lightness for a long time.

- There are women who are constantly unlucky. Cheating husband, trouble at work, betrayed by a friend. He sits in the subway - there will definitely be a homeless person nearby or someone who is drunk will step on his foot, they will scold him. How can you not fall into despair, into depression?

- In such cases, I resort to the so-called "renaming technique". The fact is that in psychology, as well as in physics or chemistry, there are laws. And if, for example, a mother inspired a girl or she herself concluded that "all men are bad people and idiots," then such people will be attracted to her throughout her life. With this scourge, too, can be successfully dealt with.

It is necessary to mentally walk into the past, remember and frankly tell when men offended her. And it turns out that, say, even earlier, she constantly quarreled with her father. We get to the bottom of the fact that her first offender was a boy in kindergarten. After each such unpleasant event, a girl, a girl, then a woman unconsciously assigned negative diagnostic names to herself: "I am the one that Sasha offended, ... who is scolded by her father, ... who is going to be abandoned by her husband," and these accumulated in the subconscious. They now influence the attitude of those around her.

Then we remember: did she ever do something nice for her offenders? And after that I say: and now let's rename. Repeat after me: "I am the one who gave Sasha a soldier, ... who brought joy to her father, ... who bought her husband a laptop, and he was happy as a child."
