Anakin Skywalker is a legendary Force-sensitive male who served the Galactic Republic as a Jedi Knight, later serving and commanding the Galactic Empire as the Sith Lord Darth Vader. Originally prophesied by the Jedi, Anakin Skywalker turned to the dark side and became a servant of the negative Galactic Empire in order to balance the Force. Vader became the father of Luke Skywalker and his twin sister Leia, secret husband of Padmé, and grandfather of Kylo Ren.

Darth Vader has become one of the baddest villains in popular culture and is even included in the list of the greatest villains ever made. According to the American Film Institute, Darth Vader ranked third in the ranking of the greatest villains in the history of the film industry over the past 100 years out of hundreds of scoundrels and scum, losing leadership positions to Hannibal Lecter and Norman Bates. In the new script, the director applied a new plot twist: Vader claims that he is Luke's father.

The new plot twist about Luke's origin had a major impact on the film. Michael Kaminsky (author of a book on the history of the creation of Star Wars with elements of the biography of George Lucas) argues that such a plot twist was not seriously considered or even considered until 1978, and the first part of the film was filmed under an alternative plot, where Darth Vader acted a separate character, not Luke's father.

When writing drafts of the second and third series, in which a different story line, Lucas reflected a new backstory that he himself came up with: Anakin went to Kenobi's apprenticeship, had a son, Luke, but was seduced by the side of evil. Deciding to create a prequel, Lucas indicated that the episode would be tragic, depicting Anakin's defection to evil. He assumed that the prequels would be the beginning of a single story that began with Anakin's childhood and ended in death. It was the final step towards turning the series into a saga.

In the first prequel, George Lucas introduced Anakin as a nine-year-old child to make the hero's separation from his mother sharp and painful. Trailers for the Anakin movie, and a movie poster showing him casting Vader's shadow, hinted at the character's possible fate to unsuspecting viewers. Ultimately, the film achieved its goal of showing Anakin's transformation into Darth Vader.

Michael Kaminsky in The Secret History of Star Wars provides evidence that problems with Anakin's defection to the side of evil prompted Lucas to make major adjustments to the story, first by revising the original sequence of the third prequel so that Anakin would destroy Count Dooku, which served as the first step towards the transition to side of evil.

After completing the bulk of the work in 2003, Lucas again made changes to Anakin's character, rewriting the transition to the dark side: Anakin's transition from grace to the Dark Side is now caused by the desire to save his wife Padmé, while in the previous version this reason was one of several, including that Anakin believed the Jedi were planning to take over the Republic. These fundamental adjustments were made by editing key shots and adding new scenes filmed during pickups in 2004.

Darth Vader is first introduced in Star Wars as a ruthless cyborg in the service of the Galactic Empire. After asking Luke to remove his mask, a redeemed Anakin Skywalker tells his son that he is fine before he dies. Luke escapes the Death Star with his father's remains and solemnly burns them at the stake, the Spirit of Anakin reunites with the spirit of Obi-Wan and Yoda to watch over Luke and his friends as the Rebels celebrate the destruction of the Death Star and the fall of the Empire.

Lucas then made a prequel trilogy, which tells the backstory and reveals the image of Darth Vader. In Star Wars: Episode II - "Attack of the Clones", Anakin becomes Obi-Wan's apprentice. Anakin travels with Padmé to Naboo. But after feeling the pain of Shmi's mother, Anakin goes to Tatooine to save her, but is too late. Anakin, enraged, kills the Tuskens responsible for his mother's death and returns to Lars' estate to bury Shmi. By the end of the film, Anakin, having lost his arm in a fight with Count Dooku, is equipped with a robotic arm and secretly marries Padmé.

In Star Wars: Episode III - "Revenge of the Sith", Anakin becomes a Jedi Knight and hero of the Clone Wars. When the Jedi confronts Dooku, Anakin defeats the Sith Lord and, following Palpatine's persuasion, kills him in cold blood. Palpatine tells Anakin that the dark side has the power to cheat death and eventually reveals that he is the Sith Lord Darth Sidious. Although Anakin informs the Jedi Windu of Palpatine's betrayal, he follows Windu to make sure Palpatine is alive. When he realizes that Windu wants to kill Palpatine, Anakin intervenes, allowing Palpatine to kill Windu.

Desperate to save Padmé, Anakin turned evil and became Palpatine's apprentice, Darth Vader. On Palpatine's orders, Vader must kill all the Jedi and Separatist leaders who are hiding on the planet Mustafar, Padmé confronts Vader and begs him to return to the side of good, but Vader refuses. When Obi-Wan disembarks from Padmé's ship, Vader accuses his wife of conspiracy and uses the Force to strangle her into unconsciousness and rage.

After a vicious battle, Obi-Wan defeats Vader, injuring his legs and arm, and leaves the body on the banks of a lava river where it burns. Palpatine locates Vader and brings him back to Coruscant, where his mangled body is treated and covered in the black armored suit first seen in the original trilogy. When Vader asks for Padmé's whereabouts, Palpatine explains to him that he killed Padmé in anger; Vader cries out in agony, his spirit broken.

Vader is tasked with recovering the stolen Death Star plans and finding the Rebel Alliance's secret base. He captures and tortures Princess Leia Organa and is nearby when the Death Star Commander destroys her home planet of Alderaan. Soon after, he fights with lightsabers with his former master Obi-Wan Kenobi, who has come to the Death Star to save Leia. The young man goes to Bespin to fight Vader, but is defeated and loses his right hand. Vader is tasked with overseeing the completion of the second Death Star. He meets with Palpatine aboard the half-completed station to discuss Luke's plan to turn to the dark side.

During this time, Luke had nearly completed his Jedi training and learned from the dying Master Yoda that Vader was indeed his father. He learns about his father's past from the spirit of Obi-Wan Kenobi, and also learns that Leia is his sister. During an operation on the forest moon of Endor, he surrenders to Imperial forces and is brought before Vader. Aboard the Death Star, Luke resists the Emperor's call to unleash his anger and fear for his friends (and thus turn to the dark side of the Force). However, Vader, using the Force, penetrates Luke's mind, learns of Leia's existence and threatens to turn her into a servant of the dark side of the Force in his place. Luke succumbs to his rage and almost kills Vader by chopping off right hand my father. But at this moment, the young man sees Vader's cybernetic hand, then looks at his own, realizes that he is dangerously close to the fate of his father and curbs his anger.

When the Emperor approaches him, tempting Luke to kill Vader and take his place, Luke throws away his lightsaber, refusing to land a fatal blow on his father. In anger, Palpatine attacks Luke with lightning bolts. Luke writhes under the Emperor's torture, trying to fight. Palpatine's anger grows, Luke asks Vader for help. At this time, the confrontation between the Dark and Light Sides rises in Vader. He is afraid to rebel against the Emperor, but at the same time, he does not want to lose his only son. About thirty years after the events of the sixth episode, one of the members of the organization that replaced the Empire, the First Order, Kylo Ren, the son of Leia and Han Solo, and the grandson of Anakin, got Darth Vader's melted and mangled helmet. The film shows Kylo kneeling in front of the helmet and promising that he will finish what Vader started.

Fulfillment of prophecy[ | ]

Upon first meeting Anakin, Qui-Gon Jin considers him the Chosen One, the child who will restore the balance of the Force. The Jedi believed that the Chosen One would bring rebalancing through the destruction of the Sith. Yoda believes that the prophecy can be misinterpreted. In fact, Anakin first destroyed many Jedi in the Temple on Coruscant and a large number of other Jedi during the formative years of the Empire, in a peculiar way fulfilling the prophecy and bringing balance to the Force, equalizing the number of Sith and Jedi (Darth Sidious and Darth Vader on the same side of the Force, Yoda and Obi - Wang on the other hand). The suit was eventually irreparably damaged by a powerful bolt of lightning from Emperor Palpatine aboard the second Death Star after Vader saved his son, Luke Skywalker, from imminent death. After his sudden death, Vader in armor was buried by Skywalker in the ritualistic Jedi funeral ceremonies in the forest of Endor in 4 ABY. Some 30 years later, his grandson Kylo Ren (Ben Solo) bows before Vader's melted and mangled helmet, promising to finish what his grandfather started.

Anakin Skywalker trained under one of the strongest members of the Jedi Order, Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. Thanks to a mentor, he learned almost all styles of lightsaber wielding, which made him an incredibly strong opponent, despite his young age.

Skywalker preferred to use, the most aggressive and aimed at the physical suppression of the opponent, perfectly suited to the wayward and impulsive nature of the young man. Natural talent allowed him to quickly master new techniques, for the sake of his own ego, and, after a while, the Jedi began to consider himself an equal to Yoda himself. Anakin also mastered the art of dual-wielding lightsabers on his own, which came in handy during his duel with Count Dooku on Geonosis and several other times during the Separatist Crisis.

Over the long ten years of conflict, Skywalker, who received the title of Jedi Knight, took part in a great many battles and fights, continuing to hone his skills and abilities. Yet the young, strong, and gifted Sith lacked experience, poise, and concentration. Calling on the Dark Side, he could not quite control the granted power, anger clouded his mind and clarity of thoughts, preventing him from fully enjoying the benefits of the fifth form. Ultimately, the inability to control emotions was the reason for the defeat of the Sith in a duel on Mustafar.

Once imprisoned in an armored life support suit, Vader had to rely entirely on the newfound power of mechanical prosthetics. His fighting style became clumsy, consisting of nothing but sharp vertical strikes aimed at knocking him down and finishing off his opponent on the ground. The Sith turned on the elements and, trying to somehow compensate for his own sluggishness and slowness.

However, the dark lord quickly managed to overcome his limitations and created a unique form of combat that absorbed many techniques, Soresu, Ataru, Jem So, and even the highest, most dangerous. He turned the disadvantages of heavy cybernetic armor into advantages, using its weight and the power of implants to deliver incredibly powerful strikes. During the fight, the Sith Lord made movements only with his elbows and wrists, and not with his entire arm as a whole. Vader also regained some of his former mobility, learning to use the Force to perform acrobatic stunts. Two-handed grip on the handle, unexpected and unpredictable lunges, surprisingly fast reaction and amazing intuition once again turned the dark lord into a formidable opponent. One of his favorite tactics was to force his enemies to release their emotions, convince them that they were pushing him, in fact, wasting all their strength, and then disarm them with one blow. Vader could use various options of his own style, using a one-handed grip for greater accuracy and economy of movement while attacking. He acted similarly in his fight with Luke Skywalker on Bespin. Going on the defensive, the Sith Lord held the hilt of his lightsaber with both hands, pressing his elbows to his body and holding the blade straight in front of him, acting only with his hands. This position provided protection for the body and vulnerable control panel on the chest, but did not cover the limbs.

The Dark Lord learned from the ill-fated duel with Obi-Wan Kenobi and learned to control his feelings in combat, acting intelligently, deliberately, channeling the power of the dark side, not allowing rage to blind him. However, training with a lightsaber attracted the young man much more than practicing the techniques of the Force. As a result, his knowledge in this area was narrowed down to a few essential techniques.

The high level of midi-chlorians not only gave Skywalker a close connection to the Force, but also made him unnecessarily arrogant and self-confident. Achieving much greater success than other students, Anakin continued to feed his pride and conceit.

The Jedi was a true master of telekinesis, able to lift even huge objects with minimal effort. He could perform by moving long distances in this way, and use Force Push and. During the Separatist Crisis, Anakin mastered one of the dark abilities: Force Choke, using it more than once during the conflict. His own speed and creation techniques were also familiar to him. The prequel trilogy chronicles the heroic rise and tragic fall of Vader's original identity, Anakin Skywalker.

The name "Darth Vader" is consonant with the name "Darth Veter" from the novel by I.A. Efremov "The Andromeda Nebula" (1957).

In the original trilogy Star Wars Darth Vader is the main antagonist: a dark, ruthless figure, ready to capture, torture, or kill the film's characters in order to prevent the Empire from falling apart. On the other hand, Darth Vader (or, as he is otherwise called, the Dark Lord) is one of the greatest figures in the Star Wars universe. As one of the most powerful Sith, he is well liked by many fans of the anthology and is a very charismatic character.

New Hope

Vader is tasked with recovering the stolen Death Star plans and finding the Rebel Alliance's secret base. He captures and tortures Princess Leia Organa and is by her side when Death Star Commander Grand Moff Tarkin destroys her home planet of Alderaan. Soon after, he fights with lightsabers with his former master Obi-Wan Kenobi, who has come to the Death Star to rescue Leia, and kills him (Obi-Wan becomes a Force spirit). He then meets Luke Skywalker in battle on the Death Star, and senses in him a great ability in the Force; this is confirmed later when the youth destroys the battle station. Vader was about to shoot down Luke with his TIE Fighter (TIE Advanced x1), but a surprise attack Millennium Falcon, piloted by Han Solo, sends Vader far into space.

The Empire Strikes Back

After the destruction of the rebel base "Echo" on the planet Hoth by the forces of the Empire, Darth Vader sends bounty hunters (Eng. bounty hunters) in search of the Millennium Falcon. Aboard his Star Destroyer, he executes Admiral Ozzel (who was a completely incompetent commander) and Captain Niida for their mistakes. Meanwhile, the Mandalorian Boba Fett manages to locate the Falcon and track its progress to the gas giant Bespin. Finding that Luke is not on the Falcon, Vader captures Leia, Han, Chewbacca, and C-3PO in order to lure Luke into a trap. He makes a deal with Cloud City administrator Lando Calrissian to turn Han over to bounty hunter Boba Fett, and freezes Solo in carbonite. Luke, who at this time is undergoing training in the possession of the light side of the Force under the guidance of Yoda on the planet Dagoba, senses the danger that threatens his friends. The young man goes to Bespin to fight Vader, but is defeated and loses his right hand. Vader then reveals the truth to him: he is Luke's father, not Anakin's killer, as Obi Wan Kenobi told the young Skywalker, and offers to overthrow Palpatine and rule the galaxy together. Luke refuses and jumps down. He is sucked down a garbage chute and thrown towards Cloud City's antennas, where he is rescued by Leia, Chewbacca, Lando, C-3PO, and R2-D2 on the Millennium Falcon.

Return of the Jedi

Vader is tasked with overseeing the completion of the second Death Star. He meets with Palpatine aboard the half-completed station to discuss Luke's plan to turn to the dark side.

During this time, Luke had nearly completed his Jedi training and learned from the dying Master Yoda that Vader was indeed his father. He learns about his father's past from the spirit of Obi-Wan Kenobi, and also learns that Leia is his sister. During an operation on the forest moon of Endor, he surrenders to Imperial forces and is brought before Vader. Aboard the Death Star, Luke resists the Emperor's call to unleash his anger and fear for his friends (and thus turn to the dark side of the Force). However, Vader, using the Force, penetrates Luke's mind, learns of Leia's existence and threatens to turn her into a servant of the dark side of the Force in his place. Luke gives in to his rage and nearly kills Vader by chopping off his father's right arm. But at this moment, the young man sees Vader's cybernetic hand, then looks at his own, realizes that he is dangerously close to the fate of his father, and curbs his anger.

Vader's costume design was influenced by the costume worn by Lightning, a villain in the television series Fight the Devil's Dogs, and the masks Japanese samurai, but there were also similarities between Vader's armor and that of the Marvel Comics supervillain, Doctor Death.

The canonical Vader breathing noise was created by Ben Burtt breathing through an underwater mask with a small microphone in the regulator. He originally recorded many variations of breath sounds, from rattling and asthmatic to cold and mechanical. Basically, more than mechanical version, and a more rattling one in Return of the Jedi, after Vader was fatally damaged by Sidious' Force lightning. Initially, Vader was supposed to sound like an emergency room, with clicks and beeps as long as he was in the frame. However, it turned out to be too distracting, and all this noise was reduced to only breathing.

One of the canon changes regarding the costume was that by 4 ABY, Vader's left shoulder was completely artificial, and in 3 ABY, after an encounter with Luke on Bespin, he noted that his right shoulder had healed well. Since the bionic shoulder could not heal, Vader's right shoulder must still have been made of his own flesh, although earlier on Mimban, Vader's right arm was amputated from the shoulder. of his Episodes, we see how Anakin Skywalker first lost his right arm below the elbow (in a fight with Dooku (replaced by a prosthesis in the same Episode 2), and then lost his left arm below the elbow, and both legs below the knees (duel with Obi-Wan), which were also replaced with prosthetics at the end of "Revenge of the Sith" during Anakin's final transformation into Darth Vader. However, whether Vader referred to this healing literally, sarcastically, or metaphorically is unknown. Another change was that in episode III the costume Vader, brand new, made different from original design, albeit only slightly to give it a new, just created look. Several small changes to the length of the neck and shoulder grips gave Vader's movements a more mechanical feel. Another change in canon is that Vader's chest panel changed slightly from III to IV and from IV to V and VI. The canonical reason for this has not yet been named. In addition, this control panel had ancient Jewish symbols, which, according to some fans, translate as "His deeds will not be forgiven until he deserves it."

The suit has been referenced several times in the Expanded Universe. For example, in the Star Wars: Legacy comics, Cade Skywalker appears wearing a pair of pants that look very much like part of Vader's outfit. Also in Star Wars: Unite, when Mara tries on Wedding Dresses, one of them looks like Vader's armor. Leia tells the designer that the reason Mara rejected him is "The bride doesn't want to dress like the groom's father".

secret student

According to the draft Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, immediately after the events of episode 3, Darth Vader took on his son a Jedi, whose potential in strength far exceeded his own. With the help of the student, Vader wanted to overthrow the Emperor and seize power in the Empire, and in order for the student to become stronger, Darth Vader ordered him to destroy the survivors after the execution of the order of 66 Jedi. Later, a secret student, nicknamed Starkiller, realized his mistake and switched to the light side. After that, having gained the trust of the rebels, he swore to lead them in this battle, but they were found by Darth Vader, who captured the rebels, but Starkiller was able to escape. He swore revenge on his former teacher. Arriving on the death star, he fought the Sith Lord, severely crippling him, but still died at the hands of Emperor Palpatine and thereby saved the rebels.

Anakin Skywalker was once a heroic Jedi Knight, but was seduced by the powers of the dark side and became the evil entity known as Darth Vader in an attempt to save the life of his wife and unborn children. However, in spite of all he had done, there were still remnants of goodness in him.

Origin

Anakin Skywalker is considered the "Chosen One" of the force; whom the Sith are supposed to destroy. Anakin Skywalker was born without a father and lived most of his life on Tatooine with his mother, Shmi. When Qui-Gon Jinn came to the planet seeking parts for their ship back to the Jedi Council, Anakin won their parts and also his freedom, but with only one flaw in the plan - his mother had to remain on Tatooine as a slave. A few years later, Anakin became Obi-Wan Kenobi's apprentice and married the ex-Queen of Naboo, Padmé Amidala.

Near the end of the Clone Wars, Anakin became very obsessed with saving his family. Learning that his wife and unborn child were about to die though the vision, Anakin was determined to find the power to save his loved ones. AT this moment The Sith Lord Darth Sidious forced Anakin to join the newfound Empire as their new Sith apprentice, Darth Vader. Anakin killed most of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy, except for Yoda and Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan attempted to kill Anakin, but only left him near the lava planet Musafar badly injured. Anakin survived through the Emperor's mechanations. More machine than man, Anakin forever became Darth Vader and served his master as the Mailed Fist of the Empire.

Creation

Along with the entire Star Wars universe, Darth Vader (or Anakin) was created by George Lucas. However, at the time Darth Vader was the main character portrayal than Anakin Skywalker (but it was said that George was working on Anakin's model before they started Vader). Vader's mask was drawn by Ralph Macquarrie, who drew the concept for Darth Vader's space suit. After many changes to Vader's mask, Ralph finally got the design that George liked, and soon Brian Muir began designing the rest of Vader from the head down. With the success of Star Wars IV: New Hope, George Lucas began looking for a writer to help him with the fifth, technically second, film. Writer Leigh Brackett helped George create the second installment of Star Wars, and everything was perfect, except that Vader wasn't going to reveal that he was Luke's father. Before the film's screenplay was completed, Leigh Brackett died of cancer, so it was left for George to write the screenplay by himself. At the end, Dart did tell Luke that he was his father. George started looking at the backstory for Anakin and created the entire story with Anakin being a student of Obi Wan Kenobi and the last Qui-Gon. The story was clear that Anakin would release himself to the dark side through a series of events, and eventually become Darth Vader after being badly injured during the final battle against Obi Wan. Which eventually ended the Star Wars Saga, episodes 1-6.

The man under Vader's suit was played by David Prowse, his stunt double (Bob Anderson) pre-shaped all fight scenes, Sebastian Shaw played as Vader in the final moments of Darth Vader's life at the end of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and James Earl Jones voiced Darth Vader .

From slavery to freedom

Anakin Skywalker was a young slave boy who lived on the desert planet Tatooine. He lived with his mother Shmi and worked as a slave for a Toydarian junk dealer named Watto. Anakin was an exceptional mechanic, being able to build a C-3PO protocol droid. He was also skilled in breadboarding. All in all, it was a fairly normal life for a slave.

Anakin's world was shaken when Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn, Padmé Amidala, R2-D2, and the Binks Bank came to Tatooine. Master Jinn immediately recognized something big about Anakin. Deeply connected to the Force and with a high amount of midi-chlorian, he had the potential to become the most powerful Jedi Knight ever. As it turns out, the party had landed on the planet because their hyperdrive had failed. While searching, they went to a repair shop and met Anakin. Anakin agreed to help them by winning a podrace in the Eve Riots Classic. Qui-Gon Jinn made a bet for Watto that if Anakin wins, he would be free. Watto accepted the bet. After winning races largely due to his Force skills, Anakin was released and left to train and become a Jedi. While on board the ship, he developed an admiration for Padmé and gave her a Japor snippet to remember. He then appeared before the Jedi Council, who, despite his high midi-chlorian count, turned down the request because he was too old and emotionally attached. Meanwhile, the evil Darth Sidious sent his apprentice Darth Maul after the two Jedi Knights. They went to the Brilliant, narrowly running Maul at every turn. When the time came to attack the Trade Federation, Anakin took refuge in a starfighter cockpit and was accidentally whisked into a space battle with Artoo. He managed to achieve what other Naboo pilots could not; destroy a Droid Control Ship with proton torpedoes in good order. Unfortunately, Qui-Gon was killed in a duel with Darth Maul. After Obi-Wan killed the Sith Lord, he was made an Ultimate Jedi by Knight and was given permission from the Council to train the boy.

Life like a Jedi

Although Obi-Wan had trained him well, Anakin had a natural violence in him. He was reckless and frivolous—and he was afraid of losing those he loved very much. However, he turned out to be the great Jedi Knight and the greatest star fighter pilot in the galaxy. Speculation arose that he might be the Chosen One - the one that would destroy the Sith Peerage once and for all. As Padawan, he had a mission to protect Senator Padmé Amidala from an attempt on her life by the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

During this, he thought about his mother Shmi and wanted her, so he traveled to Tatooine to see her. But when he got there he realized that the Tusken Raiders tortured killed her. Anakin killed the entire Tuskens tribe, even the tribe's women and children, in a blind rage; he turned to the dark side. It was also around this time that he began an affair with Padmé. When Obi-Wan is captured on Geonosis, Anakin and Padmé set out to rescue him. However, they were captured along with Obi-Wan and the three were sentenced to death. They managed to hold their own until Mace Windu and his Jedi strike force arrived and rescued them, along with the clone troopers. As Anakin and Obi-Wan pursued Separatist leader Count Dooku, Padmé fell and the two Jedi had a brief argument.

Anakin and Obi-Wan soon caught up with the numbers, but Anakin eagerly charged and was blasted with Dooku's Force lightning. After Obi-Wan was injured in the fight, Anakin recovered and saved his Master from Dooku's attack. Padawan then fought off the number with two lightsabers before severing his right hand to Dooku's blade. These two would have died had it not been for Yoda's intervention. After that shootout, he married Padma in a secret marriage ceremony with C-3PO and R2-D2 as his only witnesses.

During his Padawan years, Anakin would participate in numerous Clone war battles. He would face Dark Jedi Asajj Ventress, whom he defeated on the temples of Yavin IV. It was during this Clone War period that he would be knighted, albeit in a controversial decision. After that, he would have a second encounter with Asajj Ventress and persevere, but not before getting facial scars in the duel. He would then temporarily be assigned to Ahsoka Tano as his new Padawan.

Knightfall

Anakin and Obi-Wan would then be assigned a crucial mission; rescue Chancellor Palpatine, who has been kidnapped by the Grievous Common. The Jedi stormed the Separatist flagship Invisible Hand and found the chancellor there guarded by Count Dooku. The Jedi involved Dooku in the hostilities and the amount managed to render Obi-Wan unconscious. Anakin fought Dooku alone and knocked out until he cut off the Count's arms. Palpatine then goaded Anakin into decapitating Dooku. The Jedi was then captured by General Grievous before a renewed attack. But Grievous escaped, and Anakin managed to steer the ship towards Glittering. Anakin then met Padmé, who then told him that she was pregnant. However, Anakin feared losing her as he had lost his mother. “Fear leads to outrage; rage to hate; hated to suffering," said Yoda, who acknowledged that the boy might be on his way to the dark side. He began to distrust those around him, and he hated the Jedi Order as he felt they wronged him, because even though he received a seat on the Jedi Council, he was not granted the title Jedi Master; title he had to access limited Jedi holocrons in order to save Padmé. He was also received by High Chancellor Palpatine, who was secretly the Lord of the Sith. Palpatine gained Anakin's trust and loyalty, only to have Anakin find out that the Sith Lord Darth Sidious was. Palpatine told him, however, that with the powers of the Sith, he could become immortal and stop other people from dying. Anakin reported this discovery to Mace Windu, who would lead a strike force to arrest the chancellor, but then thought of a power promise and flew over to the chancellor's office. Master Windu had Palpatine at bladepoint and was barraged by Sith Force lightning. Anakin was torn between loyalty and the supposed right to save Padmé, but he made his decision and hastily severed Windu's sword arm. After Palpatine killed the Jedi Master, he assured Anakin that he was fulfilling his destiny. Anakin then pledged loyalty to the Sith and became Palpatine's new apprentice, Darth Vader.

The Chancellor then gave him the mission to attack the Jedi Temple in Operation: Knightfall. Vader did so without a doubt, leading the 501st Legion in the raid. Many Jedi and younglings were killed in the brutality. Vader's next mission was to travel to Mustafar and kill the Separatist Leaders, including Nute Gunray.

He would later reveal his dark motives for Padmé's future. Due to Obi-Wan's unfortunate arrival, Vader violently attacked his wife with the Force and engaged his former master in a lightsaber duel. Despite his great skill, Vader lost to Obi-Wan, losing his legs and his left arm as a result. He was also burned by the lava and received burns that almost claimed his life. It was the timely arrival of his new master, Emperor Palpatine, who saved his life. Vader would have been transported to medical institution on Brilliant, where he was restored to a cyborg. Believing he was the one responsible for killing his wife and child, Vader would forever become devoted to the Emperor and the Dark Side, with his heart as cold as ever.

Imperial iron fist

For nearly twenty years, Vader has become known as the legendary face of the Galactic Empire, his reputation forever known and feared throughout the galaxy. Vader has spent most of the years hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights and Masters while (just like in Sith tradition) conspiring to overthrow his Master...

Unbeknownst to Vader, Padmé had died giving birth to twins, Luke and Leia. Luke was watched over by his Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru (and secretly by Obi-Wan), while Leia was taken into Bail Organa's care and became Princess of Alderaan.

Darth Vader and the ninth assassin

When Darth Vader kills the son of a very rich man, he is obligated to pay his revenge on the Dark Lord. The Man paid eight assassins to kill Vader, and they all failed. Darth Vader got rid of them each easily. The man decided to shell out to pay one of the most expensive assassins in the galaxy when he hired a man only known as the ninth assassin. The ninth assassin proved to be a worthy foil to Vader and even impressed the Dark Lord himself, who repeatedly offered him a position with the Empire. The ninth assassin ultimately failed and Darth Vader moved on having avoided another attempt on his life.

rise of rebellion

Darth Vader found a secret apprentice during the reign of the Empire. On a mission from Palpatine to a suspected Lipstick Jedi on the planet Kashyyyk, Vader discovered this apprentice. His father Kento Marek, a Jedi of Lipstick, escaped Order 66 and traveled through many planets on his way to Kashyyyk, was Lipstick eventually stayed. After confronting Kento and killing him, Vader took the boy away from Palpatine's prying eyes. After years of training, Vader saw fit to allow his apprentice to hunt down the last of the Jedi. With the Starkiller completed its tasks, Vader was ready to begin his plan to destroy the Emperor. Unfortunately, the Emperor recognized and tracked Starkiller's aircraft before reaching Vader's private spaceship. When the Emperor arrived, Vader betrayed and killed his Starkiller to show his loyalty to his master. He left his Apprentice alive, though, and when the Emperor left, Vader restored Starkiller from the depths of space.

He then revived his apprentice and explained his plan for the next attempt, which was to start an uprising. Then he sent his disciple away. He didn't understand though that his Apprentice had feelings for pilot Juno Eclipse, who was labeled a traitor to the Empire. Starkiller then broke Juno out of the restraints she was in and started on his mission. Ultimately, Starkiller would discover that Vader never planned to overthrow Palpatine at all (or at least with him). That was the whole part

from the Emperor's plan to expose the enemies of the Empire. Vader would later take over the Rebel Alliance and defeat his apprentice once more, but this would prove to be his undoing. Starkiller survived and confronted Vader and the Emperor in the Death Star, sacrificing his life to allow the Rebels to fight another day. Due to Starkiller's actions, the Rebel Alliance has been formed and is ready to draw the Empire into the vicious Galactic Civil War.

Over the next few years, Vader would be tasked by the Emperor to put down attacks from the Rebel Alliance with little effort.

New Hope

A ruthless cyborg has been chasing Princess Leia and the Rebels for the stolen Death Star plans. The Empire chased the Rebels back to Vader's homeworld, which the princess was able to relay the plans to the astromech droid and send it off to the planet. Vader captured the princess and later brought her to the Death Star, where he and Grand Moff Tarkin interrogated her on the location of a hidden Rebel base. Vader tortured his daughter and summoned to see her home planet destroyed Alderaan. Vader also played a role in the execution of Owen and Beru Lars. As Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Obi-Wan, and Chewbacca were captured by the Death Star's tractor beam, Vader sensed the presence of his former master. He eventually confronted his master in one final duel. Despite Obi-Wan's warning, Vader took him down, but not before Obi-Wan became a Force spirit. Vader allowed Luke and his comrades to escape so he could finally locate the hidden Rebel base. Once the plan worked, the Imperials prepared for battle and confronted the incoming Rebel fleet. During the Battle of Yavin, Vader decided to personally destroy the Rebel starfighters himself. The Sith Lord nearly destroyed the entire Rebel fleet and came close to destroying Luke Skywalker, but interference from the Millennium Falcon would cause one of his support fighters to veer into Vader's fighter, sending him growing far into space.

Civil war rises

Vader would return to the Empire and continue his efforts to hunt down the Rebel Alliance and the mysterious Luke Skywalker, who had begun to plague his mind with so many questions. It would never come to mind that Luke and Leia were their children much later.

The Empire Strikes Back
Three years after the Death Star was destroyed, the Empire destroyed the Rebel Base on Hoth VI. The Empire gained power, so when Luke traveled to Dagobah, in the swamps of which Yoda had now made his home, to become Yoda's apprentice and continue his training in the use of the Force, Han Solo and Leia Organa traveled to Cloud City, in the Bespin system, to meet an old friend. Han Lando Calrissian. However, Vader tracked the heroes to Cloud City with the help of Mandalorian bounty hunter Boba Fett and elevated the deal, which meant that the Baron Administrator was betraying them and the Dark Lord captured them. Vader, wanting to capture Skywalker, decided to test the carbonite freezing on Han Solo, who happened to have a price on his head thanks to Jabba the Hutt, and Fett took it to Jabba.

Luke made it to Cloud City to rescue Yen or Leia - but he would eventually involve Vader in a lightsaber battle. Vader's power was much more extensive than Luke, but he didn't kill Luke because he wanted Luke to turn to the dark side and become an ally of the Empire. They fought, and Vader ended up lashing Luke's wrist across the balcony, causing Luke to lose the lightsaber that Anakin had in mind for him long ago. Vader eventually revealed his true parentage to Luke, but Luke chose death over life as Vader's son and he let go and fell. He barely survived and escaped Vader and the Empire, much to the Dark Lord's dismay.

Return of the Jedi

More than six months have passed. The Emperor formulated a trap to destroy the Rebel Alliance and Luke's newcomer to the dark side of the Force. When Luke traveled to the moon Endor, where Vader and the Emperor were, he showed his acceptance that Vader was once Anakin Skywalker, his father, and tried to push his father away, where Kenobi failed. But aboard the unfinished second Death Star, the Emperor proved to be a dark influence to Luke, even as father and son engaged in their final lightsaber duel. Vader gains power while Luke enjoys dark side to subdue his father in battle, cutting his arm. When Luke refused to turn, the Emperor fired Force lightning at him and was about to kill him as Vader watched. As Luke was being electrocuted, he moaned, "Father, please help me!"

All along Anakin Skywalker was fighting this which made him Darth Vader. Successfully overcoming what made him Vader, Anakin grabbed the Emperor and threw him into the Death Star's power core. Unfortunately, the lightning blew away Anakin's cybernetics. He then died after killing the Emperor and rescuing his son, who unmasked him to find that his father was still extremely human all along.

No matter how evil Darth Vader was, Anakin Skywalker died a hero. His ghost was seen at the Endor celebration.

Powers and abilities

Lightsaber skill

Originally one of the most skilled duelists during the Clone Wars, Anakin Skywalker was a prodigy at a young age who mastered Form V of lightsaber combat; Djem So in particular. In his first serious lightsaber battle against Count Dooku, he impressed the amount as he demonstrated knowledge of Jar' Kai and outperformed his master, Obi-Wan. Later, Anakin would fight Dark Sider Asajj Ventress on Yavin 4 and beat up the skilled assassin. He would often bicker with his old master Obi-Wan and also make rematches with Asajj Ventress and Count Dooku

As a Sith, Vader had to restore his style due to his new suite, using more hybrid form. He was much stronger and much more pain and damage resistant, but he vastly lacked the flexibility and speed he once had, two skills indispensable to style such as Djem Tak.

Since he became Palpatine's engine, the main task Vader will be to fight the Jedi. But his new body and his new way of living never stopped him as he, weeks after getting himself into his new suite, killed dozens of Jedi, including a Jedi Master. Over the course of his career as Lord of the Sith, Vader would come into conflict with famous Jedi like Roan Shryne and Dark Woman, uncover the ancient Jedi Celeste Morne, whom he then proceeded to move best in combat towards, and stalemate his son - Luke Skywalker.

Powers of force
Vader had the highest number of midi-chlorians in the galaxy, surpassing 20,000. With this, he had the potential to surpass Emperor Palpatine and Grandmaster Yoda. However, after his injuries on Mustafar, Vader lost most of his potential. He was still remarkably influential. it should be mentioned that Darth Vader had an ancient Sith amulet build in his armored gauntlet. amulent allowed him to use the force more effectively, making him significantly more powerful in the force than he originally was.

He could send out Force Waves of outstanding magnitude by launching people through the air; could telepathically examine the Jedi; while mapped, can create Kinetite; can use Tutaminis to deflect fuse bolts; can heal himself through his pure anger.

His favored ability, however, is the Force Choke, which he can use from across the galaxy.

Star Wars: Force Unleashed

Darth Vader also appeared in the Force Unleashed series, shown as the master of the powerful Force master, Galen Marek. In the first game, he was trained by the Dark Lord to hunt down the last of the Jedi and root out any enemies of the Empire. Marek would betray his master and inspire the rise of the Rebel Alliance. Vader is only playable in the first tutorial level of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
