Headquarters of VSPU student brigades

In September 2014, the headquarters of student teams was opened at the university with several working areas: teams of guides, counselors, construction teams and operational teams. Refers to the Voronezh regional branch of the youth all-Russian public organization "Russian student teams".

About the university

A modern and dynamic university with a rich history and traditions, a leading scientific and methodological center in the field of teacher education in the Central Black Earth Region - this is what Voronezh State Pedagogical University is today. Founded in 1931 on the basis of the Pedagogical Faculty of Voronezh State University, it has trained more than 65,000 teachers, most of whom were in demand not only in the region, but in various parts of Russia, near and far abroad.

Currently, eight faculties of VSPU (History, Physics and Mathematics, Natural Geography, Russian Language and Literature, Foreign Languages, Psychological and Pedagogical, Physical Culture and Life Safety, Art Education) and the Institute of Culture and Art are preparing in 42 areas and specialties.

585 teachers work at 46 departments, including 76 doctors of sciences and professors, 277 candidates of sciences, including three Honored Workers of Science of Russia, 10 Soros professors and associate professors, 20 Honored workers of higher education and honorary workers of higher professional education. The development of the university is carried out in accordance with modern trends in the reform of higher professional education. Milestones in the history of VSPU

1931 - On July 13, the Voronezh Agrarian and Pedagogical Institute was formed on the basis of the pedagogical faculty of the Voronezh State University. The institute had 5 departments: historical and economic, physical and technical, natural, literary and linguistic, Ukrainian. On November 5, the first issue of the large-circulation newspaper "For Pedagogical Personnel" was published.

1932 - the Institute was named after the historian M.N. Pokrovsky. An enrollment has been announced for the school-pedological and geographical departments. The evening department and correspondence sector are open.

1934 - departments were transformed into faculties: history, literature, physics and mathematics, natural. The Faculty of Geography was opened.

1941 - a 3-year institute of foreign languages ​​joined the VSPI as a faculty of foreign languages.

1942 - On July 4, the evacuation of the institute began. On August 28, teachers and students arrived in the city of Urzhum, Kirov region.

1944 - the university returned from evacuation to Voronezh.

1948 - the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports was opened

1957 - The Faculty of Primary School Teacher Training was opened. Lasted until 1966.

1959 - the industrial-pedagogical faculty was opened. Lasted until 1966.

1960 - the student canteen of the institute was put into operation.

1962 - the Faculty of Public Professions was opened.

1970 - a preparatory department for 100 people was opened.

1975 - the training of foreign students began at the university, a faculty for working with foreign students was created.

1981 - the institute was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor for success in training personnel for public education and in connection with the 50th anniversary of its founding.

1984 - dormitories No. 1 and No. 2 were put into operation.

1987 - the museum of the history of VGPI was opened.

1993 - the institute was given the status of a pedagogical university. A music and pedagogical faculty was created with departments: music education, fine arts and choreography.

1995 - the Faculty of Psychology and Education was established.

1997 - the faculty of pre-university and postgraduate training was opened.

1999 - the Faculty of Music and Education was transformed into the Faculty of Art Education with departments: music education, fine arts and drawing, folk art.

2000 - Center for International Cooperation established. An educational and sports complex was put into operation.

2001 - Institute of Culture and Art with departments: design and choreography was created in the structure of VSPU.

2003 - The Center for Monitoring the Quality of Students' Knowledge was established.

2005 - The Center for the Development of Pedagogical Education was established.

2006 - the Department of educational work with students was organized.

2006 - the construction of the library building on 4000 sq.m. was completed.

2007 - the Center for Additional Education was established.

Brief history of the educational institution

The beginning of its existence Voronezh (VGPU) takes from 1931. More than eighty years ago, on the basis of one of the faculties of the Voronezh State University, the then Voronezh Pedagogical Institute was created. The current name of the educational institution was acquired in 1993. For success in the training of highly qualified personnel, the institute was renamed into a university by order.

On the territory of the Chernozem region, VSPU is considered one of the largest educational organizations. Today, about ten thousand full-time and part-time students are trained within its walls according to professional programs. The teachers of the university are doctors and candidates of sciences, professors and associate professors, corresponding members of international and domestic academies, honored workers of higher education and professional education.

Despite the fact that September 1, 2011 is considered the date of its official formation, the actual formation of the historical and philological buildings took place from the moment the university was formed.

Leading Soviet historians, teachers, military and public figures stood at the origins of the faculty. In connection with the events of the 30s and 40s, the leadership of the unit changed frequently, and only by the middle of the century did the two structural units merge. Since 2004, V. V. Kileinikov has been appointed dean of the united division.

Natural sciences and geography at VSPU

The Dean's Office of the Faculty of Natural Geography, bearing its current name since 1951, one of the oldest in the educational institution of Voronezh, ensures the uninterrupted work of teachers and student discipline. Since the formation of the university, this department has been engaged in the professional training of teachers in chemistry, biology, geography, geology, and zoology. At the beginning of its educational activities, the faculty management successfully solved the problem of logistical support, including the necessary equipment, textbooks, literature, manuals. Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​at the Voronezh Pedagogical University

Along with the humanitarian faculty of VSPU, which is in demand and popular among the student body, is the Faculty of Foreign Languages. For almost 80 years of its existence, this unit had to go a long and hard way. Initially, the corps was part of the Voronezh Teachers' Institute of Foreign Languages, preparing translators and philologists in English, French and German. In difficult wartime, when the faculty was evacuated outside the Voronezh region, in 1943 the first graduation of English students took place.

The rapid development of the language faculty was facilitated by the increased attention of the administration to the replenishment of technical means. To work with students, tape recorders were purchased, language laboratories and phonetic rooms were equipped. The level of foreign language communication of students has been rapidly increasing due to the competent use of audiovisual means in the educational process. The search for effective educational technologies at the faculty continues to this day. In addition, in the early 2000s, he made a huge step forward and stood out among domestic educational institutions, providing students with the opportunity to study at the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​in absentia.

Art and art education

The most creative department of the VSPU is the Faculty of Arts and Art Education. Here, musicians, artists, designers and choreographers manage to realize their talents and find a profession to their liking. The faculty has five departments:

• theory, history of music and musical instruments;
• choral conducting and vocals;
• visual arts;
• design;
• folk art.

First, this unit, created on the basis of the Music and Pedagogical University, was caused by the need to create in the city the highest level in the multi-stage system of training students of creative profiles and various qualifications. However, the first obstacle at that time was the shortage of teachers with higher musical education. The problem was solved thanks to federal and municipal support.

Psychological and pedagogical education at the university

The Psychological and Pedagogical Faculty of the VSPU trains students in the areas of "Primary Education", "Preschool Education", "Special Education", "Psychology of Education".
