Select a suitable, well-ventilated and dry place for storing inventory, the tools must be placed there vertically, or hung on the wall on a special rack above the floor level - so as to protect them from moisture and subsequent corrosion. However, the crown of a tree, developing independently, over time often grows in width or height. In trees and shrubs that have not been pruned, the central part of the crown is exposed, and on the periphery the branches are very dense.

In such a situation, most of the fruits of horticultural crops are tied along the edges of the crown, and the fruiting zone decreases sharply with a larger crown diameter. In addition, due to sharp forks, large branches may be split off during the fruiting period. Caring for such trees becomes more difficult, pest and disease control and harvesting become difficult.

There are the following types of pruning:

- forming, giving the crown of a young plant a certain shape;

- regulating (supporting), in which good lighting is achieved in all parts of the crown, providing an optimal ratio between growth and fruiting;

- anti-aging, aimed at stimulating the growth and flowering of horticultural crops;

- thinning, in which small and weak branches are shortened or removed;

- grafting, necessary to create sap flow in the branches of the plant;

- restorative, restoring the ability to grow and bear fruit frozen and old branches.

In the process of crown formation and stimulation of plant development, various pruning methods are used, which are used both for thin shoots, the thickness of which does not exceed 3-5 mm, and for dead thick branches, the diameter of which can be 80-100 mm.

In addition to pruning, many plants require bud cutting and grafting.

Secateurs
