Sheathing of the ceiling in the loggia with pvc panels. Do-it-yourself ceilings on the balcony from plastic panels, video installation example. How to install stretch ceilings

Nowadays, more and more balconies in high-rise buildings are made closed, but you want to close the balcony from external influences (wind, rain, direct sunlight, street noise, dust, etc.) in such a way that it looks attractive and does not disfigure the appearance the whole house. Quite acceptable materials for finishing balconies are plastic panels, including panels for the ceiling on the balcony.

Not so long ago, just a few decades ago, the balconies were also closed, but they often looked like hanging “chicken coops”.

The materials used were mainly:

  • Wooden lining;
  • aluminum sheets;
  • Sheets of corrugated iron.

This method of finishing was forced, due to the lack of light and beautiful materials with good heat and sound insulation, but it was incomparably easier to “get” an aluminum sheet that is now in short supply.

After a short time, the paint from the lining and aluminum sheets, under the influence of weather conditions, slipped, and the corrugated iron was covered with dark brown rust.

The view of such a balcony was depressing, and not everyone decided to update it from the outside, for fear of heights. Here, a similar structure hung in an unpresentable form. The loggia, unlike the balcony, due to the lack of end open sides, looks much more advantageous, therefore it is easier to finish them before and now, although they are larger in size.

But these times are gone, in the open sale, if you look for materials for decoration, you can find anything you like, for all tastes and wallets.

Ceiling on the balcony from PVC panels

The ceiling on the loggia of plastic panels: the pros and cons

The main advantages of plastic finishing of ceilings of balconies and loggias include several facts.

for example:

  • With noticeable durability (up to ten years), the surface of the panel remains smooth, and wiping with a damp sponge on a mop is enough to clean the ceiling;
  • It looks aesthetically pleasing and does not require any additional finishing during installation;
  • When installing panels on a frame with a gap, the gap will be an additional barrier to sound and heat leakage;
  • The moisture resistance of plastic panels makes it impossible for them to warp and form stains and other color defects of decorative surfaces.

The disadvantages of plastic panels include the fact that especially suspicious people are very worried about their polymeric origin, despite the fact that PVC plastic is absolutely safe. It should also be borne in mind that variegated plastic loses its vividness of color under the influence of direct sunlight.

Do-it-yourself panel ceiling on a loggia or balcony

The ceiling of the panels on the loggia is worth a try to do it yourself. To do this, it is necessary to make careful measurements in order to first make a sketch, on which all the nuances of the design of the future ceiling sheathing are thought out: its fastening to the upper balcony slab, tracing lighting wires that prevent short circuits and short circuits to the frame, joints of the sheathing with vertical panels and other points , and then you need to make a drawing, which will be the main document.

This approach will eliminate many misunderstandings during work and save time and money.

In order for the ceiling sheathing with plastic panels to be of high quality, the ceiling surface under the future sheathing is first leveled. Plastic should be purchased by about 10-15% more and you can stock up on thermal insulation in rolls, and preferably a thermal insulation panel; in addition, you will need a ceiling plinth and other plastic parts for attaching and decorating panels and docking them to each other.

Panels and auxiliary plastic parts must be purchased from good manufacturers, not to get involved, out of imaginary savings, with dubious firms, so that it does not happen that after a short time the plastic begins to crack and crumble, then you can regret your inappropriate "savings" a thousand times.

If the plastic is dense, without air cavities, then it should not shine through.

The tool must also be taken seriously, it must be absolutely serviceable.

This requirement applies primarily to power tools.:

  • Drills;
  • perforators;
  • Screwdrivers;
  • Electric grinders, etc.

The condition of the ladder must be good, as working on the balcony with a bad ladder is unacceptable. If there is a risk, when falling from a stepladder, to be outside the balcony from the outside, it is imperative to use a mounting belt and fasten a carabiner at least to the corner of the barrier.

The sequence of finishing the ceiling on the balcony with plastic panels

When finishing, you must follow a certain sequence.

The approximate sequence of work carried out is as follows:

  1. Before you make a frame for attaching plastic panels to the ceiling, you need to thoroughly cover the ceiling with a concrete primer to avoid shedding.
  2. Next, a box of wooden beams is attached to the ceiling, the horizontal is preliminarily determined, for which all angles are measured and the lowest one is selected from them, 40-50 mm are laid down from it so that the built-in lamp fits into the frame. From this point, a horizontal is marked with a level, and holes for dowels are drilled in the profile along this line, then dowels are inserted and a beam is attached along the entire contour.
  3. The position of the future surface of the plastic ceiling is determined by the string from the fishing line, and when attaching a wooden beam, linings of different thicknesses are placed under it so that the surface coincides with the string.
  4. Plastic panels are attached to the installed frame, cut to the size of the ceiling, or, if preliminary cutting is not applicable, the panels are adjusted in place and fastened to the beam with self-tapping screws (screws).
  5. Ceilings made of plastic panels are very well adapted to the installation of recessed lighting. After marking the position of the luminaire, a hole is made in accordance with the connecting dimensions of the luminaire.
  6. At the location of the lamp, two additional reinforcing beams are added.
  7. The electrical wire is protected by a corrugated plastic casing.
  8. After installing the suspended plastic ceiling panels, a decorative plinth is attached along the ceiling contour, designed to hide the inevitable flaws along the ceiling perimeter.

Finishing the balcony with plastic panels (video)

As can be seen from the description, it is not so difficult to make a ceiling decoration on a balcony. But even if there is no experience in such matters, it is worth a try, since plastic finishing materials are not very expensive, and in case of mistakes and failures, they can be easily and simply corrected.

Finishing the ceiling on the balcony and choosing the right materials for this is an important step that will give this corner a cozy and modern look. Not all materials are suitable for facing the ceiling, but their list is quite large. A detailed review of materials and technologies will help to understand the intricacies of finishing.

Requirements for materials for finishing the balcony

Unlike an apartment, the ceiling on the balcony is exposed to sub-zero temperatures, high humidity and direct sunlight. Therefore, the material for finishing the ceiling must be resistant to all these factors.

A material suitable for ceiling sheathing on a balcony should have the following characteristics:

  • do not collapse and do not deform in frost and heat;
  • do not soak from raindrops, condensate, possible leaks;
  • be resistant to rot and mold when wet;
  • when heated by sunlight, do not emit harmful substances;
  • do not fade over time;
  • fit into the overall design of the balcony decoration, without violating the harmony and unity of style.

The range of finishing materials that meet the above requirements is so large that at first the eyes run wide. As a result, a bright appearance or a low price can become a decisive factor when buying. This approach may turn out to be unreasonable, disappointment will come over time, and the ceiling will have to be redone.

What materials are not suitable for finishing the ceiling on an open balcony?

These include the following materials:

  • plywood, fiberboard and chipboard that do not have moisture resistance;
  • not laminated MDF panels;
  • drywall;
  • interior paint and chalk whitewash.

Under the influence of atmospheric precipitation and drops of condensate, these materials will swell, lose their shape and may collapse. On a glazed balcony, they can only be used if the ceiling is insulated - this will help to avoid condensation.

Paint on concrete slab

The most budgetary and fairly common way to finish the ceiling on the balcony. It is suitable for both an open balcony and a glazed loggia in the case when it is not necessary to change the ceiling level, install built-in lights or insulate it.

Finishing pros:

  • low price of materials;
  • no special skills required, easy to do with your own hands;
  • does not support combustion;
  • with the right choice of paint, it is not afraid of high and low temperatures, condensation, rain and snow.
  • looks pretty simple and unpretentious;
  • requires periodic repair and painting.

To paint the ceiling, you need to choose coloring compositions intended for outdoor use - they are resistant to freezing and sunlight. A good choice is facade paints for plaster, they not only retain the integrity of the coating for a long time, but also have a large palette of shades.

The technology of painting the ceiling on the balcony

Painting the ceiling on the balcony will require a minimum of time, money and materials.

You will need:

  • primer for concrete;
  • putty, in some cases - a cement-sand mixture;
  • spatula, coarse and fine-grained sandpaper;
  • facade paint for concrete, brick and plaster of the desired shade;
  • brush, roller and ditch.

Note! Paint consumption is indicated on the package. To obtain a more uniform shade, it is recommended to apply paint in two or three layers, this must be taken into account when buying.

Table. Painting the ceiling on the balcony.

Steps, No., illustrationsShort description

First you need to prepare the ceiling: clean it of old paint and peeling plaster with a spatula and coarse sandpaper.

The prepared ceiling is primed for concrete with a brush or roller and dried.

The surface of the ceiling is leveled: large gaps, chips are sealed with DSP, diluted with water to a paste-like consistency, small irregularities and seams are puttied. Sometimes it is necessary to apply several layers of putty, each of which requires complete drying before continuing.

After the putty and plaster have completely dried, the ceiling is once again treated with a primer and dried.

Start coloring. In order for the paint to lay down more evenly and not drip from the roller, it is poured in a small amount into a paint pan, distributed over it with a roller, wetting it evenly, and only after that the ceiling is painted. The first layer is applied along the ceiling slab, the second - after the first has dried, perpendicular to the first layer. The corners are additionally painted over with a brush.

After the paint has completely dried, you can proceed with the installation of fixtures, fixing skirting boards and other types of finishes.

Wood finish: board and lining

This type of finish is called a hemmed ceiling - it is performed by filing boards or panels to guides fixed on a concrete slab. The method is suitable for an open and glazed balcony, it allows you to additionally insulate the ceiling and level it in case of large chips and irregularities. The wooden ceiling goes well with the wood paneling of the walls. To extend the service life and give a shade, the wood is treated with paint or impregnations based on natural or mineral oil.

Finishing pros:

  • natural appearance;
  • environmentally friendly material;
  • moderate price;
  • simple installation;
  • allows you to additionally insulate the ceiling;
  • with regular processing, the material lasts more than 20 years.
  • flammable material;
  • at high humidity, wood is prone to rot and mold;
  • requires care and regular processing.

As a finishing board, you can use lining, block house, imitation of timber, as well as ordinary planed edged board. It is better to lay it across the ceiling - this creates a visual illusion of expanding the balcony.

The technology of finishing the ceiling on the balcony with a board

Materials and tools:

  • finishing board;
  • guides from a wooden block 40x40 or 50x50 mm;
  • dowels and screws or anchor bolts for attaching the bar to the ceiling;
  • self-tapping screws, clamps or nails for fastening the finishing board;
  • woodworking agent and brush;
  • perforator or drill;
  • jigsaw or hacksaw;
  • tape measure, square, bubble level;
  • marker or carpenter's pencil.

In the case of ceiling insulation, you will also need:

  • insulation boards - expanded polystyrene or polystyrene, thickness - according to the thickness of the guide bar;
  • cement-based adhesive;
  • dowels - fungi for additional fastening of plates;
  • mounting knife.

Note! Ceiling insulation is used to avoid condensation of water vapor. Condensation occurs due to the temperature difference on the surface of the concrete slab if your balcony is glazed and insulated, while the neighbors from above do not.

Plastic panels

Another option for a false ceiling is plastic panels. It is usually used on glazed balconies and loggias, because with a sharp temperature drop, plastic can deform over time. Plastic panels, like wood, allow you to level and insulate the ceiling, give it a stylish look.

Most often, this type of finish is used in combination with painted walls or when finishing them with plastic. As guides, you can use both bars and a galvanized drywall profile.

Advantages of plastic panels:

  • low price;
  • panels are light, do not create a load on the ceiling;
  • do not rot, do not collapse from moisture;
  • a large selection of shades, including with a pattern, allows you to create an original balcony design.
  • plastic is flammable, toxic when burned;
  • under the influence of bright sun, inexpensive color panels can change color.

Under the plastic trim, you can hide the wiring, and insert built-in lights into the panels themselves. This will create a cozy and warm homely atmosphere. Instead of plastic panels, you can use vinyl siding, the fastening technology will not change.

The technology of covering the ceiling on the balcony with plastic

In general, plastic filing technology is similar to wood trim.. The difference between light plastic panels is that you can lower the ceiling level more by using hangers and attaching rails to the wall. This technique is used on the closed balcony of the last floor, when the height of the ceiling on the balcony is much higher than its level in the room.

Required materials and tools:

  • plastic panels and ceiling moldings;
  • aluminum or galvanized PN and PS profiles, hangers, brackets;
  • self-tapping screws with a large hat - "bugs";
  • hacksaw and molding cutting template;
  • laser or bubble level;
  • screwdriver, drill;
  • tape measure and marker.

Note! It is better to fasten the panels with clamps or self-tapping screws into a wide mounting shelf, so their surface will remain undamaged.

Aluminum slatted ceilings

Suspended ceilings made of aluminum rails are great for decorating a balcony. They are not afraid of moisture, cold or heat, are not deformed and are not subject to decay. Aluminum ceilings can be mounted at any height, even significant differences can be leveled with their help thanks to suspensions. A wide range of shades and textures allows you to successfully fit them into any interior.

Aluminum ceilings - a prefabricated structure of rails, fixed on a special traverse with a latch, which allows you to get by with a minimum of fasteners. In the subceiling space, you can place wiring, ventilation and other communication systems.

Reiki can be of the same color and width or alternate with inserts of a contrasting color or texture. The mirror surface visually expands the balcony, creates a feeling of spaciousness.

Advantages of aluminum slatted ceilings:

  • resistance to any temperature and moisture;
  • strength and durability;
  • flexible texture allows you to create fillets, two-level structures;
  • the ceiling is easy to install;
  • easy to clean, does not require processing during operation;
  • does not burn.
  • quite high price.

Aluminum slatted ceilings are usually mounted in rooms with high humidity, so it is better than any other material for open balconies and loggias.

The technology of mounting aluminum ceilings on the balcony

The prefabricated ceiling is mounted on a comb rail - a traverse, which is suspended from the balcony floor slab. The ceiling itself is assembled, starting from one of the walls, the slats, cut to size, are inserted into the starting profile, fixed to the wall, and snapped onto the comb. Installation is fast and cost-effective.

Required materials and tools:

  • aluminum slats, traverses and starting profile;
  • ceiling hangers;
  • level, marker;
  • electric jigsaw or scissors for metal;
  • perforator.

Note! When installing built-in lighting, holes in the rails for lamp fittings must be drilled before mounting them on the ceiling.

Stretch ceiling

Stretch structures on glazed loggias and balconies are no longer a rarity, this technology allows you to create a moisture-proof finish that is resistant to temperature extremes, of any color and texture. Attach stretch ceilings to the wall, which allows you to place it at any desired height. At the same time, the ceiling plate can be insulated and soundproofed.

Advantages of stretch ceilings:

  • uniform surface of any shade with a glossy or matte sheen;
  • creation of multi-level structures, installation of built-in lighting;
  • moisture resistance, endurance to temperature difference.
  • rather high price;
  • hard to assemble by hand.

Note! For high-quality installation of stretch ceilings, you need a special tool, as well as appropriate skills. If you are not confident in your abilities, it is better to contact a company that specializes in the installation of stretch ceilings.

Stretch ceiling installation technology

Stretch ceilings are installed using several technologies, the choice of installation type depends on the characteristics of the room. To understand how to independently, but professionally install a stretch ceiling, we recommend watching the video.

Which finish to choose for the ceiling of the balcony is up to you, depending on the taste and capabilities of your wallet. Knowing the features of finishing materials and the technology of their installation, you will surely be able to avoid difficulties when choosing and create a corner of home comfort on the balcony.

What is the most popular material for finishing balconies? Perhaps, many, without hesitation, will answer that these are plastic panels. And they will be right. Indeed, this material has so organically fit into this space that no other material has been able to “knock it out” from there yet.

After all, a plastic ceiling is inexpensive and practical, but it looks neat and clean, which is so often lacking on our balconies. At the same time, it does not require special skills for its installation. It is only important to follow the sequence of actions, which will be discussed further. In addition, you can see photos and videos.

Material advantages

Plastic is characterized by such advantages:

  1. Versatility. Such material can look great not only on the balcony, but also in many other rooms. After all, the market offers a wide range. Moreover, there are products with imitation of natural materials.
  2. Care does not require special actions or means. It is enough to periodically wipe the surface with a damp cloth.
  3. Moisture resistance is an undoubted advantage of the material in terms of use on the balcony.
  4. Plastic panels perfectly hide communications and defects in the main coating. Allows easy installation of fixtures.

There are PVC wall or ceiling materials. The latter have less weight, they are more fragile. Therefore, in fact, working with the material requires special attention and accuracy.

Products can have different lengths, widths and colors. As noted, the panels are able to imitate natural material. As a result, you can create an imitation of a wooden lining.

Panels are:

  1. matte - the cheapest option;
  2. glossy - varnished;
  3. color or picture.

In the latter case, one of the technologies is used:

  1. direct printing;
  2. thermal transfer is a simple and common method.

Definition of quality

  1. We do an inspection. The geometry and the outer shell must be of high quality. The surface is even, the pattern is evenly applied.
  2. Stiffeners should not be visible from the outside. By the way, the more these ribs are, the stronger the panel will be.
  3. You should pay attention to the thickness of the front panel and stiffeners.
  4. Taking two panels, you should connect them. The result should be close to ideal. Gaps and other defects should be absent, and the joint should be hardly noticeable.
  5. Bend test. Any corner of the panel needs to be bent and unbent several times. If even five such actions were not enough to destroy the material, it is considered that the product will last a long period. Otherwise, the panel may burst during installation. This indicates a low quality product.

Material calculation

Before purchasing products, you should decide on their quantity. For this, the area of \u200b\u200bthe ceiling is determined: multiply the length by the width. This figure should be divided by the area of one product. To the received data, you need to add another 10% - for the reserve.

To install the frame around the perimeter, it is better to use a UD profile, a transverse one - CD, it is lighter.

The result of the installation is the installation of the plinth. It is calculated around the perimeter. The value of this length must be divided by three (the standard length of the material).

Mounting

First you need to equip yourself with personal protective equipment: a hat, goggles, gloves, protective clothing and shoes. Next, we make the markup using the level. You need to get a horizontal plane. Retreat from the main ceiling is up to 10 cm. The height of the lamps should be taken into account.

Profiles must be fixed tightly using dowels. CDs are attached to this profile. Then, using self-tapping screws, an L-shaped profile is fixed.

When the frame is installed, it is worth taking care of all communications, provide holes in the panels for mounting fixtures.

You need to start the installation from the wall. You can cut the panel using a hacksaw for metal or plastic.

The first product is inserted into the profile, and then fixed with self-tapping screws along the length. The remaining sheets are inserted into each other.

As a rule, difficulties with the installation of panels arise on the last sample. After all, the width will need to be adjusted to the remaining distance from the penultimate panel to the wall.

Common Installation Mistakes

Finally, here are some of the most common mistakes that, of course, should not be made during installation.

  1. There must be ventilation between the ceiling and the panels, so they cannot be mounted on glue.
  2. You should not choose cheap material, which can then ruin all the work. At a minimum, it will not last long, quickly burn out or be transparent.
  3. Wiring should be done before the panels are installed. This should not be forgotten.
  4. It is not recommended to use wooden bars instead of profiles. Given the balcony conditions, nothing good will come of it. Structural failure is very likely.

How to sheathe the ceiling on the balcony with plastic panels?

Consider in this article how the ceiling on the balcony is sheathed with plastic panels. Keeping in mind the practicality and ease of use of plastic as a material for interior decoration, it is all the more worth considering its use in those rooms where you have to stay for a very short time, for example, on a loggia. It would not be superfluous to familiarize yourself with some of the features of PVC panels, since, knowing their pros and cons, it will become clear whether its use is acceptable in a particular case. I must say that this finishing option is more economical and relatively simple technically.

Panel types

Suppose that we need to tidy up the ceiling of the balcony by lining it with plastic panels. It is quite natural that in this case the question of choosing the right type of slabs from a variety of proposals will arise.

The panels used for sheathing ceiling surfaces are somewhat inferior in thickness and strength to wall panels, since the loads that they have to endure are not so significant.

Important: It is necessary to work with them very carefully.

According to the parameters and indicators, the lining for the ceiling can be conditionally classified as follows:

  • type-setting products are a kind of long slats, reaching a length of about 3 m, a width of 0.3 m, outwardly very similar to ordinary lining. They are joined to each other “thorn to thorn” and fixed to the surface with brackets and planks. This is done simply and fairly quickly;
  • imitating planks that look like wood, marble, tiles. They may be more needed for fans of non-standard design solutions. It is possible to mount in a checkerboard pattern;
  • sheet - installed directly on the ceiling surface. Liquid nails are the best adhesive material for them. The disadvantage of sheet material for cladding is that it does not eliminate serious differences in the plane.

PVC panels, like wall counterparts, can have a wide variety of textures and many shades.

Advantages and disadvantages

A very valuable advantage of PVC are:

  1. Excellent moisture resistance. This allows you to successfully use this cladding raw material, both in the bathroom and on balconies and even constantly open damp hallways.
  2. Affordable cost. Although the material is inexpensive, it has excellent aesthetic performance.
  3. Easy to remove stains and old dirt. Even with prolonged leakage of the ceiling, it is easy to restore the affected areas of the panels to their original state after they have been dried and treated with a conventional detergent.
  4. Ideal plane. Without significant expenses, you can create as even a surface as you need.
  5. No need to carry out restoration work from year to year.
  6. Durability. The service life of plates can reach 15-20 years. To care for them, it is enough to occasionally wipe the surface of the ceiling with a soft cloth or dampened sponge.
  7. Ease of installation work.
  8. Possibility of fragmentary replacement of the damaged area.
  9. Heat and sound insulation. By creating an air gap between the surface and the panels, heat is retained and sound is absorbed from and into the room.

Note: With all due respect to plastic, this type of building material cannot be called completely environmentally friendly, which is sometimes the decisive factor in deciding whether to use it or not.

For some, plastic coating may already seem old-fashioned, as there are many options for replacing this type of cladding.

It is not easy to work with PVC panels when building complex multi-level structures, especially in small spaces.

Even very high-quality sheets do not hide the joints of adjacent sheets, which is not the case, for example, on stretch ceilings. For some customers, this is essential.

Choice of plastic panels

The plastic panel balcony ceiling is expected to be well lit throughout the year, which means that the source material for the finish must be resistant to constant exposure to sunlight. If you choose the cheapest slabs of all available for sale, then there is practically no chance to buy material that is resistant to fading. Therefore, it is better not to take risks, but to purchase plastic sheets from a well-known manufacturer. It is better not to be shy and ask sales assistants in detail about the advantages of one or another type of PVC panels.

Anyone who loves shine can decide to buy PVC sheets with a glossy finish. If you want to soften the solar reflection, matte panels are more suitable.

Ceiling installation

Box installation

We begin to mount the ceiling on the balcony from plastic panels from the construction of a supporting box or frame. To do this qualitatively, you need to do the work, adhering to the following order:

Panel fixing

Before you start fixing the plastic plates, it is advisable to lay a layer of insulation, for example, mineral or basalt wool, and perform electrical wiring. After that, an L-shaped or, as it is also called, a “starting” profile is attached around the perimeter to the UD wall profile. Next, the panels are mounted:

Only after all the above works have been completed, it will be possible to say that the ceiling on the balcony made of plastic panels is ready for use and, please, do not forget that plastic can react to sudden temperature changes, sometimes even with a characteristic crackling in the castle part. This does not harm the material, but when it is supercooled, a technological gap may appear between individual sheets, even if it was not traced before.

How to make a ceiling on a balcony from plastic panels?

Balconies and loggias for us, city dwellers, are of the utmost importance. Living in the cramped space of urban development, thanks to the balconies, we have the opportunity to have access to the street, while not leaving our homes. Therefore, we often come to mind the natural desire to ennoble the balcony, to make it a cozy and comfortable room. Having at our disposal the relevant materials, using someone's experience and our own skills, today it is quite possible to cope with the task. First of all, we need to sheathe and insulate the balcony structure, make a plastic ceiling on the balcony. Why are plastic panels mainly used for these purposes, and how to make the ceiling beautiful and practical? We will try to find answers to these and other related questions.

The place of plastic in the decoration of the balcony

On the balcony, we always try to use every square meter to good use, turning the balcony space into a cozy study, relaxation area or making another closet. Considering the fact that the balcony is an exit to the open air space, first of all, we try to close it. For these purposes, various finishes are used. Balcony frames with cold or warm glazing provide reliable protection of the balcony space from the effects of atmospheric factors. Bare walls and a concrete ceiling look extremely unaesthetic, so immediately after installing the balcony frame, interior decoration should be done.

Today, plastic panels are actively used for facing the balcony railing from the outside and from the inside. Installation of plastic allows you to provide the necessary insulation in parallel. Facing wall panels and finishing the ceiling on a closed balcony with plastic panels are a continuation of the finishing work.

We still remember the times when the only option for finishing balconies was wooden lining. Wooden ceilings can be called effective and beautiful, but the cost of such material is quite high and not everyone can afford such a design option. PVC panels are the most suitable alternative in this case. High manufacturability of plastic allows you to quickly and efficiently perform the installation of structures. In addition, due to the various shapes, sizes and colors, you can implement the most daring options for ceiling design.

It would be appropriate to recall that not every material is suitable for finishing ceilings on a balcony on a balcony. Temperature fluctuations and constant exposure to atmospheric precipitation, these and a number of other factors force us to use materials with special technological properties for finishing work. Do not forget about the need to use for these purposes durable and at the same time, lightweight elements of the hinged structure. Plastic is able to withstand intensive use for a long time, it is completely not subject to corrosive processes and does not rot. Plastic ceiling structures are very easy to maintain. Caring for such a surface does not require special detergents and special skills.

Note: wooden ceilings and panels on the balcony are already intensively exposed to moisture during the first year. Moisture is formed due to the lack of a breathable surface. Condensation accumulating on the ceiling surface is the main enemy of wood used in finishing work on the balcony.

Without proper treatment, a wooden ceiling is prone to rotting. Very often, mold forms on the surface of wooden parts and at the junction of the ceiling part to the walls and to the balcony frame. With PVC panels in this case, everything is much simpler. The only unpleasant moment that you will have to face later is the formation and accumulation of condensate on the panels and on the ceiling.

What types of plastic panels are used to work with ceilings on the balcony

PVC finishing materials are well known to us. Plastic is commonly used in the decoration of technological premises. At the household level, plastic panels are used in three versions:

  • rack type-setting panels (slats) made of PVC, the length of which is 240-300 cm with a width of products 10-50 cm;
  • PVC panels made in the form of tiles;
  • sheet plastic, with a matte or glossy surface. The sizes in this case can be very diverse.

In the first case, we are talking about materials that resemble lining in their appearance. This type of finish is called "plastic lining". During installation, individual fragments of the ceiling surface are tightly joined to each other. When attaching plastic parts to the ceiling, metal brackets or self-tapping screws are used.

The second type of plastic panels, for tiles, has an aesthetic component. Plastic tiles allow you to install a plastic ceiling on your balcony, creating original design solutions as a result. For example, PVC tiles with patterns or imitating the structure of a stone, laid on a balcony ceiling, will completely transform the entire balcony space. However, in this case, additional efforts will be required. Otherwise, thin decorative plastic will not be able to close all the defects in the rough surface.

For reference: when using PVC tiles for finishing work with ceilings on a balcony, it is necessary to have a specially prepared flat base surface. The insulated ceiling is usually closed with pieces of drywall or plywood sheets, on which plastic tiles are already mounted using liquid nails.

The last, third type of plastic is sheet panels. Due to the various sizes in which the products are produced, it is possible to sheathe almost any ceiling area. Bribes in this case and ease of installation. You do not need a dense crate and a frame for laying sheet plastic panels. Today, PVC sheets are produced in the following sizes: 1035 × 500 with a material thickness of 4 mm, 2700 × 250, 2700 × 500, 3000 × 500, 3000 × 250 with a sheet thickness of 8 mm.

Here you need to dwell on a number of points that must be considered when choosing a material.

First. Plastic ceilings are practical and durable. Good and high-quality plastic is able to easily withstand 10 years of intensive use, without losing either its appearance or structural and technological properties.

Second. The finished ceiling on the balcony, made of PVC panels, is easy to dismantle. Separate fragments, in case of mechanical damage, can simply be replaced with new and whole pieces, without wasting time disassembling the entire array.

Third. The finished plastic ceiling on your balcony does not need to be treated with special protective coatings and painted.

Fourth. Plastic ceilings on the balcony are economical, affordable and at the same time original.

For reference: to install PVC panels on the flow part and not only, it is better to use light-colored plastic. When exposed to direct sunlight, dark-colored panels and patterns tend to fade and lose their attractiveness.

The ceiling on the balcony of plastic panels is best mounted on the frame and insulation. The concrete surface at low temperatures freezes strongly, which negatively affects the physical properties of plastic coatings. Insulation of balconies, loggias in this case is a key factor in the quality of the finish.

For these purposes, it is better to use rolled insulating materials. Mineral foil wool, polystyrene are quite suitable for such purposes. In addition, during the installation of heaters of this type on the ceiling, there are no particular difficulties. Mineral wool is easy to attach to the empty spaces of the frame structure. Sheets of expanded polystyrene, polyurethane foam simultaneously play the role of insulation and leveling surface. Polyurethane foam boards can be installed directly on a concrete surface using mounting adhesive or mounting dowels. The joints between the pieces of insulation are foamed with mounting foam.

In order to properly perform the installation, and how to make a beautiful and practical ceiling on the balcony from plastic panels, it is important to adhere to the technology. For small balconies and loggias, you can get by with the creation of a wooden crate. A small sheathing area, sufficient strength of the plastic itself will provide the ceiling structure with the necessary stability.

Plastic lining is an excellent solution for balconies with cold glazing. Very carefully it is necessary to use plastic sheathing of ceilings on open balconies. The places where the ceiling structure adjoins the edges of the concrete floor and wall panels must be carefully sewn up, eliminating direct moisture ingress. Here it is better to use aluminum profiles to create a frame.

For reference: for large balconies with "warm glazing" it is better to use metal frames on the ceilings. This option allows you to completely insulate the concrete floor, equip the necessary lighting equipment and make the entire ceiling structure as stable as possible.

Experts recommend using PVC rail panels for balcony ceilings. This is the most practical and convenient finishing option. Plastic is purchased with a margin, approximately 10-15% of the required number of panels. For installation, wooden slats or aluminum profiles are required.

As fasteners, self-tapping screws are usually used - bedbugs, a stapler with staples. Finishing is carried out using a plastic plinth with corners. For insulation, use mineral wool, polystyrene foam or polyurethane foam boards. To give the integrity of the entire structure, mounting foam, liquid nails, sealants and other adhesive-based substances are used. With their help, it is easy to close up all the existing voids and corners in the interceiling space.

There is nothing difficult in these works. Using PVC panels as finishing materials on the balcony will be the only right decision for you. In this case, there is an economic benefit, good appearance and manufacturability of the coating.

Do-it-yourself ceilings on a balcony made of plastic panels, video installation example

Experts believe that finishing a loggia or balcony with plastic panels is the best solution. Of course, at first glance it may seem that they do not differ in aesthetics, however, this material has a lot of advantages. Therefore, it is worth considering this option for covering, studying video and photographic materials.

Pros and cons of lining

To understand why professionals prefer PVC panels when decorating a loggia or balcony, consider the characteristics of the product, advantages and disadvantages. The lining has the following properties:

  • increased resistance to chemicals;
  • unlike standard drywall sheets, plastic is waterproof;
  • relatively low coefficient of thermal expansion;
  • the material softens only when exposed to high temperatures (more than 80 degrees).

An example of the use of lining on the ceiling of the loggia

Therefore, considering the plastic ceiling from a practical point of view, we draw the following conclusions:

  • PVC panels can be installed in rooms with high humidity and temperature;
  • it is allowed to use finishing without installing a draft floating skeleton;
  • when using household chemicals to clean the surface, the surface on the loggia will not be damaged.

The rational component of the lining does not end there. The relatively low price of the product makes it one of the best do-it-yourself sheathing products.

The use of PVC tiles on a balcony or loggia also has disadvantages. The main one is the visibility of the seams at the junction of the panels. Even in low light and from a distance, they are hard to miss. Such a cladding, like any suspended structure, will make the ceiling lower. But for a balcony it is not critical. But the use of lining or drywall in other rooms of a low apartment can be a disaster.

Which panels to choose?

The construction market now offers panels with a hidden or visible seam. There are glossy and matte models, with and without a printed picture. Thin and dense PVC tiles are produced. There are products with the texture "under the tree." Note that such a solution is in demand among consumers for wall cladding. Another PVC tile differs in size (width). But which option is suitable for a loggia or balcony?

Varieties of PVC panels for ceiling decoration

From a design point of view, it is better to use white plastic. This color is universal. The ceiling, made in white tones, is in harmony with any wall decoration and visually increases the height of the room. The finish of several colors looks original. In this case, the contrasting material can be scattered randomly over the coating or a strict order can be observed.

If we talk about the texture of plastic, then the matte panel is preferable. In combination with competent lighting, this will create a warm light on the balcony, and the glare of cars and lanterns will not be reflected from the plastic ceiling. It would be a mistake to spend money on panels with images, because no one will see them anyway. To create an attractive image of the room, you can use wood trim.

Comparison of plastic matte texture with drywall

When purchasing plastic material, pay attention to the following:

  1. Density. Builders recommend choosing thick panels. This is due to the fact that they do not transmit artificial light. Although it is allowed to use thin products on the balcony ceiling.
  2. Seams. It will not be possible to avoid them, but if you purchase panels of the maximum available width, then their number will decrease. On a white glossy tile, the seams are invisible. But such material will create glare in the room.

Frame device

Before mounting the suspension system on the base ceiling, walk along the floor plane with antiseptics. You can use soil. This will increase the life of the structure. The frame for attaching the ceiling profile is made of steel elements (the video of the crate device is below). It is undesirable to use wood, because there is high humidity.

Balcony ceiling trim

There are a number of requirements for the frame:

  1. First, prepare and level the ceiling. Each profile must be on the same plane. Therefore, the markup is carried out correctly, the horizontal lines are carefully measured, paying attention to all the little things.
  2. Provide space for the installation of built-in lighting fixtures in a plastic ceiling, if the project provides for their installation.
  3. The edges of the frame are fixed on the walls. A fishing line is pulled onto the profile mounted around the perimeter. It plays the role of a kind of indicator for other components of the structure.
  4. The remaining profile is attached perpendicular to the direction of the plastic. The panels themselves are guided along the fixtures. This will make the seams less visible. A matte material with proper lighting looks like a plastered surface.
  5. Profiles are fixed every 30 cm. This will avoid sagging panels in the middle of the room. They are attached with self-tapping screws.

Important! The parts are attached not only to the frame, but also directly to the ceiling. But this is done only with a flat floor surface.

An example of finishing a balcony with a clapboard

Rough coating for frameless fastening must satisfy one more requirement. The surface must be soft so that installation can be performed without using a profile for arranging the frame.

What else needs to be done before installation?

Do-it-yourself system installation is simple, no more difficult than installing drywall. If two people are needed to install the GKL, then you can work with the lining yourself. Features of working with plastic:

  1. Provide space for lighting fixtures. For them, 5-7 cm is enough.
  2. Before purchasing, check the quality of the material. To do this, slightly squeeze the panel on one side. The product should not bend much.
  3. For balconies, use only self-tapping screws. The mounting stapler does not guarantee the reliability of the structure.
  4. At the joints of the elements, the "comb-groove" technology is used. This allows you to create a flat plane of the ceiling.

Installation of plastic panels on the ceiling

Plastic is supplemented with accessories: starting profile, elements for external and internal corners, ceiling plinth, corners (universal and F-like). Decide how the edges of the plastic will close. To do this, use a ceiling plinth or a corner. It is recommended to carry out new wiring. As for the use of light sources, you can not think for a long time by installing point models directly on the PVC ceiling.

Coating installation

Before proceeding with the installation of the frame and paneling, make sure that the mounting line does not intersect with the window opening plane. The same is done in cases where drywall is used. Why is this needed? Agree, it is unpleasant to find out after installation that the plastic does not allow the window to open. This error occurs frequently.

Before starting work, calculate how many plastic products you will need for finishing. After installation, a gap remains near the walls, sometimes large, because it is covered with a decorative plinth, as noted above. In the case of working with drywall, this situation should not arise. This complicates the lining of the room. Because some masters choose drywall with increased resistance to moisture.

Sheets of moisture resistant drywall

After installing the first part, work will go quickly. The next panel is inserted into the groove of the previous one. Fasten them to metal profiles with self-tapping screws. Mounting the last part can also be difficult. You will have to insert the plastic fragment with some effort. It is important not to damage it and the previous part.

The final stage of the assembly is the installation of decorative skirting boards or corners, with the help of which the joints with the walls are hidden. In detail, the technology of finishing with plastic is presented in the following video:

Flooded stretch ceiling how to drain water

Practical and economical finishing with plastic panels is the best solution for glazed balconies and loggias. How to sheathe the ceiling with plastic panels? Very simple, but you still need to know certain nuances of the work.

Features of ceiling plastic panels

There are plastic panels designed to work specifically with the ceiling. They are lighter and thinner than wall, and therefore work with them must be done carefully. Features of the material are determined by the area of its use - ceiling panels are operated with a lower load and do not have increased strength requirements.

Important: Finishing the ceiling with plastic panels can only be arranged in those rooms where temperature differences do not exceed 20 ° C.

The modern market offers 3 options for plastic ceiling panels, which differ in design and construction:

Read more in our review. The article deals with the features and characteristics of this finishing material.

Finishing the balcony ceiling with PVC plastic panels is possible with its preliminary insulation. Pay attention to such a heater as foam. All on this page.

The main advantages of plastic finishing

First of all, plastic panels moisture resistant- they do not deform at high humidity, and also do not form spots and stains on the surface when wet. Other benefits also include:

  1. Plastic is easy to clean and durable. Periodic wet cleaning will suffice for cleaning.
  2. The resulting ceiling will be perfectly smooth and decorative - without additional priming and painting.
  3. Easy installation and possibility of local repair.
  4. The panels are installed on a frame, thanks to which an air gap appears between the plastic and the base of the ceiling - it will act as heat and sound insulation.
  5. Affordable cost.

Important: If you want to insulate the balcony with high quality, use special mineral wool mats or polystyrene foam, mounting them in the assembled frame.

Plastic panels also have disadvantages, but how significant they are, everyone must decide individually. Firstly, this material is of artificial origin, polymer-based. So fans of "all natural" can see defects in this. However, plastic is completely safe to use. Secondly, fastening panels involves joints. Thirdly, brightly colored plastic can fade over time - especially if the balcony faces south.

The service life of a suspended ceiling made of plastic panels is about 10 years. Experts recommend using light colored plastic, since fading of colors under the influence of ultraviolet radiation will not be so noticeable on them. But plastic panels are much more diverse and when choosing a design, give preference to the option that is more suitable for the style of the room - it can be wood imitation, options with floral prints, and so on. The type of fixtures is also selected based on the general concept - built-in ones are considered more practical, although they need to lower the ceiling for them. So the dimensions of the room directly affect the type of construction - you should think through all the nuances even before purchasing the material. It is better if you have a drawing, according to which all calculations will be carried out.

Preparatory work and selection of tools

Before proceeding with the ceiling sheathing with plastic panels, the ceiling surface must be leveled and then measured. Plastic is purchased with a 10% margin. If necessary, also buy heat-insulating panels. During the installation process, you will also need:

Ceiling plinth for plastic panels

  • fixing plastic strip (90 ° angle) in an amount equal to the perimeter of the ceiling;
  • ceiling plastic plinth (in the same quantity);
  • corners and connections for joining the plinth around the perimeter;
  • self-tapping screws with a press washer for fixing plastic.

Purchase plastic panels only from trusted manufacturers. High-quality plastic will not dry out and crumble. In addition, dense panels will not shine through.

If it is damp on your balcony or loggia, then it is better to make a metal frame with a guide and a ceiling profile (as for drywall). The profile is fixed to the ceiling with direct suspensions. If the balcony is well-insulated and dry, then for the crate for plastic panels, you can use a wooden beam attached to the ceiling with self-tapping screws and dowels in increments of 1 meter.

Required tools include:

  • level (water, laser);
  • upholstery painting thread;
  • perforator or impact drill;
  • screwdriver;
  • hacksaw for metal or wood;
  • stationery or construction knife;
  • building corner;
  • pencil,
  • yardstick;
  • a hammer.

Ceiling sheathing - how to carry out quality work

Before the construction of the frame, the surface of the ceiling should be carefully primed - this will avoid shedding of concrete and plaster on the plastic surface.

Important! Work is not carried out if the temperature in the room is below 10 ° C. Also, plastic is taken out to the balcony before installation - 48 hours in advance, for acclimatization.

So, how to sheathe the ceiling on the balcony with plastic panels? First, a box for the ceiling is mounted from wooden beams or metal profiles. To do this, the horizontal of the future surface is determined, all angles in the room are measured and the lowest one is selected from them. They measure 4-5 cm down from it, which will make it possible to place a built-in lamp in the frame in the future (for the most part, their base height is 4 cm).

The horizontal is marked with a level, and then holes are drilled along the intended strip in the profile for attaching dowels.

UD and CD profiles for ceiling metal frame

After that, the dowels are inserted and the UD profile is fastened according to the level (along the entire perimeter of the room). Then hangers are fixed for the SD profile (step 50-60 cm). The plane is checked by pulling the line between the walls, after which the installation of the box is considered complete.

If a wooden beam is used to mount plastic panels on the ceiling, then it will need to be leveled horizontally, placing bosses of the desired thickness under it.

Plastic panels are installed on the prepared frame. The panels are pre-cut according to the length of the ceiling. If the room has the wrong geometry, then cutting is not done beforehand - each next panel is marked and cut off after the fact. The actual fastening of the panels to the profile is carried out with special self-tapping screws - "bugs".

Important points in the installation of fixtures

The ceiling of plastic panels is ideal for creating recessed lighting. To place the lighting fixtures in the panel, you must first attach the material to the ceiling, and then mark the location of the future lamp on it. A hole is cut out at the marking point, corresponding to the mounting diameter of the lamp.

In the case of using recessed fixtures, the ceiling level can drop by 10-12 cm, and for overhead luminaires, it will be enough to reduce the level by the thickness of the profile (beam).

In the place where the lamp is attached, two additional beams (profiles) are installed to reinforce the crate. The electric wire must be laid in a corrugated plastic sleeve, and insulated at the ends. Installation of lighting fixtures is carried out when all work on the ceiling sheathing is completed.

When all the plastic panels are installed on the ceiling, a ceiling plinth is drilled around its entire perimeter. This allows you to hide the uneven edges of the material resulting from the sawing of the panels. After the skirting board is installed, you can enjoy quality work.

Loggias and balconies in modern apartments have long ceased to serve as a place to store unnecessary trash. Often they are connected to the room or equipped as an additional room. In any case, for such a use of space, it is necessary to carry out repairs on the balcony, including finishing the ceiling, which this article is devoted to.

Ceiling technology

First of all, I note that the decoration of the ceiling of a loggia or balcony has a number of features. First of all, you need to take care of its reliable waterproofing and insulation, because the design was not originally planned for such use.

In addition, it should be borne in mind that the finish must be practical, since dust from the street will settle on various surfaces, including the ceiling. Accordingly, the material is preferably used such that it can be wiped with a damp cloth.

The finishing process itself consists of three main stages:

Below we will take a closer look at the materials that will be needed at each of these stages, and I will also tell you how to install them yourself.

Waterproofing

The waterproofing process largely depends on the characteristics of the balcony. For example, if the balcony of the neighbors above you is glazed, then you only need a sealant to waterproof the ceiling. The process itself is carried out in the following sequence:

  1. with sealant you need to fill the joint between the wall and the slab from the side of your balcony. In addition, other components of the structure should be inspected, and, if necessary, all cracks should be sealed;
  2. it is desirable to treat the plate itself with a penetrating hydrophobic composition, which will make it more moisture-proof and moisture-resistant.

If the neighbors have an open balcony, then you should agree with them to inspect it. After that, you should act according to the situation - if the junction of the slab to the wall is in order, then you can perform waterproofing according to the scheme described above. If the balcony is problematic from above, then it needs to be put in order in some way, since sealing the gap from below with a sealant will protect your balcony from water for a short time.

The most difficult thing is with the upper balconies in those cases when they initially have a canopy, as in the photo above. Such a canopy must be waterproofed both from the inside and outside. Otherwise, water will penetrate your balcony, which will lead to the gradual destruction of the concrete of the canopy and corrosion fittings.

As a rule, external waterproofing is performed with roofing material during the repair of the roof. Accordingly, this work should be done by roofers.

If you decide to do the waterproofing yourself, then you will have to go down to it from the roof. This work must be done carefully, with insurance and compliance with all precautions.

As for materials, for these purposes you can use:

  • "liquid rubber"
  • bituminous mastic;
  • PVC membrane - the price of this material is the highest - about 300-400 rubles per square meter, but it is much more durable than bitumen-based compounds.

For a visor outside, you will need permission from the DEZ. Therefore, it makes sense to contact the appropriate company that has high-altitude workers with access to high-altitude work. In this case, you will not have problems with the DEZ, and besides, you will not have to work at the risk of your life.

From below, the waterproofing of the visor is carried out according to the scheme described above.

thermal insulation

The ceiling of a loggia or balcony is necessary in cases where an unheated balcony is located on top. The fact is that, according to the laws of physics, warm air rises, respectively, the greatest heat loss occurs through the ceiling.

In addition, the insulation performs another important function - it provides sound insulation. Therefore, thermal insulation can be called in our case a mandatory procedure.

As for materials for these purposes, you can use:

  • expanded polystyrene (polystyrene);
  • mineral mats;
  • foil expanded polystyrene (penofol).

As a rule, the fastening of the heat insulator is carried out by the frame (dry) method. In this case, the frame serves as the basis for the finishing material. We will talk in more detail about the installation of the frame and its sheathing below, but now we will pay attention only to the insulation.

So, thermal insulation is usually carried out in the following sequence:

  1. First of all, a waterproofing membrane or film should be fixed on the ceiling. As a rule, it is placed between the frame and the slab;

  1. further, when the frame is mounted, the insulation is laid in its space. There are several ways to fix the thermal insulation. Most often, crossbars in the frame are used for this, or threads are pulled that are tied to carnations driven into the rails, as in the photo above;
  2. after that, a vapor barrier membrane is attached to the frame with the outlet side out(as a rule, this side has a rough surface).

An alternative to frame mounting is the wet method of fixing the insulation, in which it is glued to the wall with various compositions. In this case, it will not be possible to perform paneling, since the surface of the insulation is plastered.

Finishing

Now it remains to decide how and how to sheathe the ceiling on the balcony. Currently, there is a huge selection of materials. At the same time, as mentioned above, one should focus primarily on practicality, but not forgetting about design.

Therefore, the most common are the following options for finishing the ceiling on the balcony:

  • plastic panels;
  • clapboard;
  • suspended or rack ceiling technology.

Regardless of which material you choose, you will need to install the frame, which has already been mentioned above. This process depends on the type of finish.

For example, wooden slats and a metal profile, which is known to everyone for the installation of drywall, can be fixed with hangers. In fact, hangers are the same brackets that are used to attach racks to walls. A similar frame can be used for both plastic and wooden lining.

Installation instructions for a structure made of metal profiles look like this:

  1. guides should be fixed around the perimeter of the balcony. Pre-mark the level so that they are horizontal. To fasten the guides, you can use dowel-nails;
  2. then on the ceiling, the location of the ceiling profiles between the guides is marked;
  3. further along the markings, suspensions are attached, the step between which should not exceed 90 cm;
  4. after that, a ceiling profile is inserted into the guides, which is fixed with self-tapping screws in suspensions;
  5. further, jumpers are installed between the profile. For their fastening, connecting crosses (crabs) are used.

Approximately according to the same principle, the installation of a frame for a false ceiling is carried out. The only thing is that in this case completely different suspensions and profiles are used. We will discuss this procedure in more detail below.

If you are mounting a wooden frame, then the slats can be attached directly to the ceiling plate with dowel-nails. True, in this case, the thickness of the insulation will be limited by the thickness of the rails.

When installing a wooden frame, the slats must be treated with a protective antiseptic composition that prevents the process of decay.

So, we figured out the installation of the frame. Now consider how to install a plastic ceiling:

  1. work begins with the installation of skirting profiles along the perimeter of the ceiling, which are attached to the ceiling profile with self-tapping screws. It should be noted that the skirting boards are installed only on three sides, so that you can subsequently install the last sheathing panel;
  2. then the plastic panels are cut to length;
  3. then the first panel is inserted into the plinth with the ends and a spike, and from the side of the groove it is fixed with self-tapping screws to the profile;
  4. the next panel must be inserted with the ends into the plinths, and with the spike into the previous panel. By the same principle, the entire ceiling is sheathed;
  5. after that, the installation of the last panel is carried out. To fit in the remaining space, it should be cut from the side of the groove;
  6. then you need to install the last plinth. To do this, it must be cut and glued to the ceiling and walls.

Here, in fact, is all the information on how to sheathe the ceiling with plastic panels. I must say that the installation of lining is carried out according to the same principle. The only thing is that skirting boards are not used to fix it, and all connections are made by means of a tongue/groove lock and self-tapping screws.

As for the installation of a suspended or rack ceiling, the procedure is carried out in the following sequence:

  1. a border (edging) is attached around the perimeter of the room;
  2. further, guides are inserted into the edging, which are additionally attached to the ceiling with the help of hangers located in increments of no more than 60 cm. The distance between the guides must correspond to the width of the panels. If the ceiling is slatted, then the step can be about a meter;
  3. if the ceiling is suspended, then the panels are simply laid on the rails. In the case of mounting a rack ceiling, the panels snap into place on the rails, and a space should be left between them, into which additional rails are subsequently inserted.

To install a lamp on the ceiling, you need to cut a hole in the panel.

This completes the process of installing a false ceiling. As we can see, there is nothing particularly complicated in this procedure.

Conclusion

By itself, finishing the ceiling of a loggia or balcony is quite simple. However, during this operation it is necessary to perform waterproofing and insulation. Only in this case you will get a dry and comfortable room that can be used as a recreation area, personal office or for any other purpose.
