Horizontal blinds made of wood. We make wooden blinds with our own hands. "Roman blinds" and vertical designs

Blinds are very popular today. They perfectly protect from sunlight and prying eyes, and also fit perfectly into different interior styles. Wooden blinds are not only highly functional, but also serve as a decoration of the room along with curtains, or they can be an independent element of window decoration.

Peculiarities

The original prototype of the blinds were simple wooden plates. However, the development of technology has led to the fact that gradually these blinds were replaced by metal and plastic ones. However, today, the trend of using natural eco-friendly materials is returning, and, consequently, the popularity of wooden blinds in the interior of various premises, even offices, conference rooms or cabinets, is growing.

Wooden blinds for windows are made from solid wood - a natural material that has high decorative qualities.

Their main advantages:

  • environmental friendliness
  • durability
  • variety of natural shades
  • beneficial effect on the microclimate of the room.

Blinds made of wood successfully combine the advantages of natural materials and the functionality of the design with a convenient control mechanism.

Kinds

Wooden blinds can be:

  • horizontal (lamellas are parallel to the floor)
  • vertical.

According to the type of fastening, blinds are divided into:

  • interframe. They are attached between the window sashes.
  • internal. This type is mounted on a special cornice on the inside of the window.

Blinds are mounted on the wall or on the ceiling. In the case of tilt-and-turn windows, the fastening is carried out directly on the window sash. At the same time, the strings from below must be fixed, as a result of which you can easily open the window for ventilation. Both horizontal and vertical wooden blinds give solidity and respectability to a standard window opening.

Horizontal lamellas can have a width of 25 to 50 mm. Wooden horizontal blinds, having wide slats, are more reliable protection from the sun than ordinary aluminum ones.

In vertical blinds, the slats are fixed on top of the eaves with holders and connected from below with a chain. The width of the vertical slats is from 89 to 127 mm.

Design

Wooden blinds are a sun protection device that consists of wooden lamellas, fasteners, control and connection systems.

Wooden blinds are made from hardwoods. Lamellas have a thickness of 2 to 4 mm. Shades can be natural and tinted. The most common raw materials for creating wooden blinds are:

  • cork.

To protect the material from fading and deformation, to increase the period of operation, the lamellas are often coated with a special non-toxic varnish that has water and dust repellent qualities. A wide range of shades and textures makes it possible to match blinds to any furniture and other interior elements of the room.

In addition, the design of wooden blinds may include such additional elements:

  • automatic control in the form of a switch or remote control, which have a range of approximately 20 meters
  • cord decorative braid that covers the technological holes
  • various weights for cord management. They can be made of wood, metal, glass, acrylic, leather.

How to choose?

Wooden blinds are purchased from companies and online stores that sell ready-made window structures. In addition, these blinds can be made to order. Do-it-yourself blinds can be an alternative to buying.

The stores have a wide range of similar products. To make the right choice, you need to know some features of wooden blinds:

  • in areas where holes in the lamellas are located, small deformations may occur due to a violation of the integrity of the structure of the solid wood. Moisture can get in there. Cord holes in wooden lamellas are most often not tinted
  • please note that the wooden cane and weight may sometimes differ in shade from the lamellas due to the different structure of the wood
  • different degrees of haze of lamellas are considered the norm
  • visible growth rings, knot cuts are also the norm, since wood is a natural material
  • like any other wooden products, blinds should not be purchased for very damp rooms, since surface deformations may occur
  • wooden blinds are subject to slight fading of the shade of the lamellas on the sunny side.

By creating wooden horizontal blinds, you will solve two problems at once - adjusting the light and designing a double-glazed window. Depending on the type of wood, the blinds will look elegant, natural.

For wooden blinds, you need to purchase thin log cabins of wood, otherwise the design will be too cumbersome. The first step is to measure the window. It is worth using a metal ruler for this - it is more accurate than a wooden one. To install the structure, measure the length and width of the double-glazed window. Measurement rules:

  • the width of the window opening must be measured in several places
  • make a mark at the widest point
  • add one centimeter to the width
  • measure your height
  • add four centimeters to the height.

The number of slats needed can be found by dividing the sum of the height by eleven centimeters. The length of the lamella should be four to five centimeters less than the width of the window if you mount the structure on a double-glazed window.

Tools you will need to create blinds:

  • drill and drill
  • scissors
  • brackets and hooks
  • aluminum tape
  • clamps
  • mounting adhesive.

Before installing the blinds, you will have to visit a hardware store, since you can not create all the parts yourself. You need to buy a swivel mechanism and a cornice. This purchase will not be expensive. The main components of the top of the structure are:

  • cornice
  • videos
  • brackets
  • control thread lock
  • rotary mechanism.

The next steps are something like this:

  • make holes for the regulating thread in the crossbar
  • install stepped cord
  • push the cord into the slats, connecting the step of the cord and securing it in the control mechanism
  • secure the lower part with a latch
  • check how the resulting structure works.

Mounting without drilling

Due to the fact that wooden lamellas have a significant weight, it is believed that they can only be installed with a drill and brackets on the eaves.

However, for example, bamboo blinds are very light, they can be mounted on special L-shaped fasteners. Blinds, which are mounted without drilling, are distinguished by the following advantages:

  • traceless dismantling. If you want to remove the blinds, you do not have to worry about the appearance of double-glazed windows or walls. After all, there will be no holes. It is not necessary to cover the areas with silicone to hide the traces of installation. Also, you don't have to worry about window depressurization.
  • the cornice, which is mounted on a bracket or fixed with mounting tape, will not sag or deform
  • even an inexperienced master will cope with the installation
  • mounting tape and brackets are not expensive, which means you will save.

In order to attach the blinds to the double-glazed window without using a drill, there are such devices:

  • L-shaped brackets (they are mounted on the active sashes of double-glazed windows)
  • construction tape
  • special magnets.

Clamps can be metal or plastic.

Plastic clips are used for active window sashes. They mount the cornice of the structure, and then the blinds themselves. Their main advantage is the closest location to the glass. Metal clamps work in a similar way. They are used for heavy types of blinds, for example, wooden or multi-impressive. Note that clamps cannot be mounted on closed sashes.

If the purchase of new blinds does not fit into your plans or budget, but you have one free evening and a charge of creative inspiration, then we suggest you make the blinds yourself from improvised means.

We have compiled 2 step-by-step master classes on how to make blinds with your own hands and 1 master class on how to update and beautifully decorate horizontal blinds.

Master class number 1: Pleated blinds from wallpaper

You can make such paper blinds in just a couple of hours, and if you still have wallpaper after repair, then you don’t even have to go to the store. Pleated blinds will last for about a year, and then you can just make new ones, because that way is so simple, beautiful and economical. And paper blinds are great for decorating the windows of country houses and co-creating with children.

To make blinds from wallpaper as in the photo above, you will need:

  1. A roll of paper wallpaper (only paper wallpapers are suitable, since vinyl and non-woven will not be able to assemble into an accordion);
  2. Auxiliary materials: scissors or stationery cutter, ruler, pencil;
  3. Awl or hole punch (better awl);
  4. A rope longer than the height of the window and 5-7 mm thick or a thin satin ribbon;
  5. Retainer with end cap of suitable color;
  6. If desired, two more tapes of any width and length 2.5 times the height of the window. These ribbons are only for decoration;
  7. Double-sided tape (or glue) and Velcro to match the wallpaper, if you want to make curtains with a swag around the edge.

Instruction:

  1. First you need to cut off a piece of wallpaper of the desired length based on: window height + 30 cm. Then you need to assemble the canvas into an accordion. You can do it by eye, but the pleating will turn out more accurate if you first line the wallpaper on the reverse side into strips 2.5-3 cm wide. A ruler will help you bend the wallpaper evenly, and a pencil or pen will help you iron and fix the bends.
  2. Now the resulting accordion from the wallpaper needs to be assembled, measured and marked in the middle on the first “lamella” and a through hole made in this place with an awl. You can also use a hole punch, but then the holes will have to be made in parts and the holes will turn out not in the middle of the “lamellas”, but a little closer to the edge, but they will be more accurate and wide. Next, we take the rope and draw it through the entire accordion. If the rope is synthetic, then its tip can be burned a little to make it sharp, then it will be easier to thread the rope into the holes.
  3. The end of the rope on the first upper "lamella" must be tied into a knot so that it does not slip out of the hole, and the end itself can either be left to tie the curtains to the cornice with it, or cut off if you want to glue and attach the curtains directly to the window frame.
  4. At this stage, you can also glue some kind of solid base to the first lamella, such as cardboard, a plastic corner or a thin rail, to hang the blinds on the windows with it.
  5. We put on the retainer on the lower end of the rope (at the bottom of the curtains) and assemble our curtains to the desired level. Now, on the right and left ends of the wallpaper, glue the Velcro with glue or double-sided tape, then glue these Velcro and ... voila! We get pleated blinds with a swag.
  6. And finally, we attach our curtains to the window.

Adviсe:

  • If you want to make horizontal blinds without a swag, then you need to make through holes in two places, as shown in the picture on the right. And, of course, in this case, either two ropes or one long one will be required. And to make horizontal blinds more interesting, you can decorate them with ribbons, which, in addition, will hide the ropes and fix the curtains at the desired level. An example of such a decor, see the photo below.

  • Instead of a fastener, you can use a button of a suitable size with two or three holes, as shown in the photo below.

  • Of course, each accordion blank can be cut to width. But, as a rule, wallpapers with a standard width of 53-55 cm are quite suitable for a standard window. But if you need more blinds, then you can choose wallpaper with a width of 1 m.

And here is a selection of photos of different ideas for your inspiration.

Master class number 2: Blinds from newspaper tubes

If you prefer ethnic or eco-style, then you can make paper blinds from newspapers, or rather from newspaper tubes. This method will require a little more time and effort from you, but such blinds will last longer.

  • Tip: You can use wooden twigs, plastic straws, or reeds instead of newspaper straws if you prefer.

To make blinds from newspaper tubes, you will need:

  1. For one window with a height of 1 m, you need to prepare about 200 painted and dried newspaper tubes with a length slightly more than the width of the window;
  2. Auxiliary materials: scissors and PVA glue;
  3. A coil of rope to match the tubes, for example, jute twine or just nylon twine is suitable for ethnic or eco-style blinds;
  4. Rings for curtains (2 pcs.);
  5. If desired, a latch with a limit switch in order to make a lifting mechanism.

How to twist newspaper tubes and lengthen them, see this video tutorial from an experienced craftswoman Elena Tishchenko:

And here is a useful video on how to paint newspaper tubes also from Elena Tishchenko:

  • Tip: you can paint the tubes by imitating reed rods with brown, beige, beige-olive or gray-beige stain.

Instruction:

  1. We lay out the newspaper tubes in a row on the floor and align;
  2. We begin to tie the tubes with each other: we fold a long rope in half, attach a ring to it for attaching to the window, tie one or two knots, then tie the first tube and make 1-2 knots in the same way, take the second one and repeat the steps until all the tubes are contact. Then we proceed to tying the tubes from the opposite edge, but this can also be done in parallel with the first row.

  • Tip: you can connect the tubes with a chain of air loops as shown in the photo on the right.
  1. Now we need to align the edges of the blinds. To do this, mark the cutting line of newspaper twigs with a ruler (along the entire fabric of the curtains) and carefully cut off the excess with scissors, moving from bottom to top.
  2. And finally, we proceed to the manufacture of the lifting mechanism. To do this, you just need to tie one loop each to the upper and lower edges of the curtains (in the middle), thread and fasten the rope to the bottom loop from the back of the blinds, and then stretch it into the top loop. At the end of the rope, you need to put on a retainer with a limit switch so that by pulling the rope, you can easily raise the curtain halfway and secure it in this position.

Master class number 3: Blinds decor

Boring "office" plastic, bamboo or wooden blinds can be updated and decorated with your own hands specifically for the color scheme and style of the interior of the room.

To decorate the blinds as in the photo above you will need:

  1. Wallpaper or any colored paper;
  2. Plastic, wooden or bamboo blinds;
  3. PVA glue and brush;
  4. Scissors;
  5. Ruler, pencil.

Instruction:

  1. We measure the width, length and number of lamellas;
  2. On a roll of wallpaper we draw strips in the same quantity and the same width and length as the lamellas;
  3. Then we mark on the markup the places of the holes into which the ropes are threaded - here the strips will need to be cut into three parts so that in the future we can bypass these places in the process of pasting the lamellas;

  1. We cut the strips along the marked lines and, as already mentioned, cut each strip into three parts. If you need to save a drawing or wallpaper pattern, then you need to cut the paper in strict sequence, and in order not to get confused, you can make notes on the reverse side;
  2. Finally, glue the paper strips onto the slats. It is not scary if the strips do not lie down quite evenly, as a result, the flaws will not be very noticeable.

I have always been amazed by the beautiful view of wooden products and structures. Natural materials that are used in wall or floor cladding create a warm and cozy design. Most recently, I installed wooden windows in my house and realized that now the old metal blinds are completely out of place. My friend suggested that I make wooden blinds with my own hands and it seemed like a great idea. I always carry out repairs at home on my own - I installed the windows myself, I did the slopes and window sills myself, and therefore I also decided to make wooden blinds with my own hands.

We consider the types and features

At the moment, there are a huge number of varieties of blinds, they can be made of plastic or aluminum, as well as fabric. But undoubtedly the most refined and original are wooden blinds. They can be divided into the following groups:

  • Vertical - This position allows you to control the sunlight. Blinds are somewhat similar to ordinary curtains, but are more functional. In addition, wooden lamellas visually lengthen the height of the room. Using vertical elements, you can close not only the window in the room, but the balcony doors, which are an additional source of light
  • Horizontal - Suitable for narrow rooms, allow you to limit sunlight due to the design of the "ladder". Most often used for office space
  • Roman lamellas are small in width, and the whole structure is rolled up

Fixing the blinds is possible both to the ceiling space and to the opening above the window. Some craftsmen use double-sided tape instead of fasteners, but I advise you to use more reliable materials.

Important! Wooden blinds are environmentally friendly and are not capable of harming health. The same cannot be said about plastic structures.

Self-manufacturing

Wooden blinds on the balcony

If you have certain skills or you decide to try to make blinds yourself, then let's look at all the steps that allow you to carry out the work efficiently. Before you make wooden blinds, you should stock up on material. In general, any type of wood is suitable for blinds, but it would be best:

  1. Bamboo
  2. Cork tree

Think in advance about the placement of the blinds - this also determines the size of future slats. For small rooms, it is better to mount the structure in a window opening, but wooden blinds that go beyond the window will require additional fasteners.

Follow this sequence:

  • Take measurements of the window opening, which will be decorated with wooden blinds
  • Divide the window height by 11 to find out how many slats you need.
  • Find out how long the panels will be. If you decide to install wooden blinds in the opening, then a couple of centimeters should be subtracted from its total width

To make lamellas, use a sawmill, in some cases it is possible to order ready-made slats. If a sawmill is used, then after cutting out the parts, they require grinding. Subsequently, they are fired with a blowtorch and processed with a stain. For decorative and protective purposes, it is worth opening the panels with varnish - this will extend the life of the structure and give it a more impressive look.

When the slats are ready and completely dry, we can proceed to drilling holes. Select the middle of all the lamellas and make a hole there - the inserted hook will allow you to attach to the base. Next, take the thread that will hold the structure on itself and measure out two pieces that will be 20 cm longer than our new blinds. The third thread, which will be in the middle, will allow you to control the lighting - its length should be two times the height of the window. The next steps are:

  1. The first bar is located between the ends of the thread and is fixed with a clamp or a large knot.
  2. The next bar is installed after a short distance - for all lamellas it will be one
  3. When the last lamella of the blinds is installed, the ends of the thread are tied and fixed at the top. The central one is located so as to keep the lamellas in the open position. When loosened, wooden blinds will close

Benefits of natural material

Wooden blinds in the interior of the apartment

Handmade wooden blinds will delight you for a very long time. In addition to the spectacular appearance, the blinds made of wood will create a comfortable and calm environment. Agree, it is much more pleasant to be in a room with wooden curtains than metal elements. The advantages of using natural material for self-made curtains:

  • The material is environmentally friendly and does not harm the health of others
  • Blinds can safely be called universal. They are able to fit into various interior solutions, if they are made with natural motifs.
  • Durable - this design can last much longer than its other counterparts
  • It is very easy to take care of the material - in case of accumulation of dust, it is enough to vacuum the slats or wipe with a soft cloth

The only disadvantage of using wooden blinds is the instability of the material to the influence of moisture. Therefore, it is better to use such designs in rooms with an optimal level of humidity, and if you need curtains for the bathroom, then plastic or aluminum blinds are better.

Wooden blinds for windows

Recently, the use of such "curtains" is much more common than the boring curtains. This is due to the constant washing of curtains and the accumulation of dust on them. Modern blinds are very easy to clean from dirt and there is no need to even dismantle the panels. By the way, even special brushes have appeared in stores that follow the contour of the panels, they can speed up the cleaning process. By the way, wooden panels are more resistant to mechanical damage. Aluminum elements can bend under pressure and do not return to their original position.

In this article we will tell you how to do it at home. By making wooden horizontal blinds, you will solve the problem of adjusting the light and designing the double-glazed window for a long time. As a rule, structures for blinds are made from thin log cabins of wood: cherry, beech, oak, yew.

Regardless of the type of wood, these blinds look elegant, natural, especially if they are also made of wood. Wood is a natural material that is environmentally friendly. Additional shine of the lamellas is obtained by applying varnish or paint, so they characteristically gleam in the sun.

The price category of wooden structures is relatively high compared to plastic or woven options, so we suggest you make your own wooden blinds. Let's take a closer look at each of the stages in the production of blinds.

Preparatory stage of independent work

For the construction of blinds, choose thin log cabins of wood so that the design does not look too bulky, natural or synthetic bamboo is also suitable. First, measure the window.

When measuring, use a metal ruler, as it measures the most accurately!

Measure the height of the window, then the width. To make a measurement for a horizontal structure, initially decide on the installation method. In order to install the structure, it is necessary to measure the length and width of the double-glazed window. When buying a model, add +1 cm to the length, and +5 to the width.

Measurement of wooden blinds to a double-glazed window involves the following actions:

  1. We measure the width of the window opening in several places.
  2. We make a mark in the widest place.
  3. Add one centimeter to the width.
  4. We measure the height.
  5. Add four centimeters to the height.

To find out how many slats you need to cook, divide the sum of the height by eleven centimeters, the number that turns out corresponds to the desired number of slats. The length of the lamellas should be four to five centimeters less than the width of the window if you are going to install the structure to the double-glazed window.

List of required tools:

  • drills and drill;
  • scissors;
  • brackets and hooks;
  • aluminum tape;
  • clamps;
  • construction adhesive.

Immediately before installation, you still have to visit the construction market. Not all details for blinds can be made independently, so you need to purchase a swivel mechanism and a cornice in advance. As a rule, the components of the blinds are not expensive. Eaves, rollers, brackets, control thread lock and swivel mechanism are the main elements of the top.

Installation of nozzles on lamellas and installation of the structure

First, let's check the presence of all elements. Let's make holes for the regulating thread in the crossbar. Install the step cord. Then we take the straps, push the cord, connecting the step of the cord and fixing it in the control mechanism. Next, we fix the lower part with a latch, check the operation of the structure.

How to make wooden blinds video:

In order for the structure to hold tightly, the lamellas do not slip or deform, it is important to fix them correctly.

  • Drill a hole in the center of each nozzle, insert a hook into it. With the help of the last blinds will be attached to the base.
  • Drill a 2 mm hole at the top and bottom. Make sure that the holes are exactly in the center.
  • Connect the slats with aluminum tape, which will rotate the slats.
  • Pull the adjustment cord through the holes and secure it with construction tape.
  • Attach preparatory slats to the guide.
  • Attach two large hooks to the ceiling. Pass the cord through the hooks that previously connected the slats. Pull the cord down in a loop. This is necessary in order to easily change the position of the slats.

Blinds components

All elements for the design you can buy separately at the hardware store. Such materials are pre-treated with special dust-repellent, antistatic agents. Therefore, it is easy to take care of the lamellae and clean them from dust. Due to the fact that wooden structures are heavier than woven or bamboo, buy additional brackets for installation.

Wooden blinds are one of the most attractive, natural types of blinds.

Option to install wooden blinds without drilling

Due to the fact that wooden slats are heavy, we believe that they should only be installed with a drill and brackets on the eaves. But wooden bamboo blinds are incredibly light, so this model can be installed on special L-shaped fasteners. Blinds, suggesting a method of installation without drilling, have a lot of advantages:

As we have already said, there are several types of blinds that are attached to a double-glazed window without using a drill; for this, the following devices are used:

  • L-shaped brackets (they are attached to the active shutters of double-glazed windows).
  • Construction tape.
  • Special magnets.

There are two types of clips: metal and plastic.

Plastic clips are thrown onto active window sashes. A cornice of the structure is attached to them, then blinds are installed. The undeniable advantage of this type of fastening to plastic windows is that they are located as close as possible to the glass. They do not take up much space on the windowsill. Metal work on the same technology. True, they differ in production material. Heavy types are attached to metal brackets: aluminum, wooden, multiimpressive. Please note that clamps cannot be installed on closed sashes.

Modern design implies not only the presence of functional and practical elements, but also the presence of decorative details. You can create wooden blinds with your own hands and thus solve all the tasks at the same time, because purchased products do not suit everyone with their cost, quality or appearance. And your own creation will certainly please you with sophistication and originality.

Types and features

The first blinds were made in the United States in the eighteenth century, but they received mass distribution only after a hundred years. The development of modern technologies allows manufacturers to produce products from cheaper materials - plastic, aluminum, fabrics, but they could not displace the classic wooden designs that never lose their relevance.

Blinds are divided into two main groups.

  1. Vertical models, similar to conventional curtains, but with more functionality, regulate the flow of sunlight by simply turning the slats. They add volume, creating the illusion of height in the room. With the help of such blinds, you can close not only the window, but also the wall with the balcony door. Most often used in residential buildings.
  2. Horizontal - the design with the "ladder" system limits the flow of light using a special device. Such models visually expand the space, look good in narrow rooms. Most suitable for office decoration, giving them elegance.

Blinds are attached to the ceiling, free space above the window or into the opening itself using brackets or double-sided tape. A light wooden structure will hold firmly if the surface is degreased with acetone before attaching the adhesive tape. Installation outside the window opening will allow you to decorate a large area, radically changing the entire design. The width of the product should exceed the opening by ten centimeters, the height - at will, but not less than the height of the window. When making blinds to the floor, it is necessary to take into account all the protrusions of the heating devices. When mounted on sashes, the width is determined by the size of the glass plus three centimeters to cover the entire area.

A win-win

It is not necessary to buy ready-made blinds. With certain skills and desire, they can be made independently. This process is not particularly difficult, so everyone can test their strengths and skills, because things made by hand are always of great value. Any kind of wood is suitable for work, but it is best to take linden, bamboo, cedar, beech, mahogany or cork wood.

First of all, you need to do the following.

  1. Measure the parameters of the opening to be made - the number of slats for the structure depends on them.
  2. Divide the window height by eleven to get the required number of slats.
  3. Determine the length of the elements. This indicator depends on the intended method of placing the finished product. If the blinds are installed directly into the opening, then the length of the slats should be a few centimeters less.

The method of placing the blinds must be determined in advance, since their size depends on this. Installation in the opening will save space, which is very important for small rooms, and installation above the window is a more troublesome option that requires additional fasteners.

To make blinds, you will need a strong thread and a certain number of strips with holes with a diameter slightly larger than the thread. They can be made at a sawmill, then sanded with a fine sandpaper, and then burned with a blowtorch or stained. The next step is varnishing, which will increase performance and extend the life of the product.

In each bar, exactly in the middle, you need to drill a hole, insert a hook with which the structure will be attached to the base. Then you need to take two threads, each of which is twenty centimeters longer than the future curtain. The third (central) is designed to control lighting, it is two times the height of the window. Fold the cord in half, making a loop at the top, and pass the ends through the hole of the latch (clip), to increase reliability, you need to insert another clip. The same steps must be repeated with the second cord.

The first lamella must be placed between the ends of the cord and fixed with a clip or a large knot. To complete the gap, the next part must be placed at a certain distance (equal for all elements). After installing the last bar, the ends of the rope should be tied in a knot and fastened at the top, and the central one should be positioned so that it maintains the slats in the open state - if it is loosened, the blinds will close. To increase the decorativeness, the ends of the cord can be fluffed up, creating tassels. If the cord is cut, the tip must be strengthened with glue.

To make vertical blinds in each plank, you need to drill one small hole at the top, as well as two in the center and at the bottom. Pass metal rings into the upper ones, through which hang the lamellas on the crossbar, fix them above the opening and connect all the parts in the middle and at the bottom with a wire, cord, cord or other elements, which will allow the canvas to fold like an accordion.

A find for connoisseurs of natural materials

Wooden blinds wonderfully combine modernity and ancient traditions. They regulate not only lighting, but also air flow, creating a comfortable environment, which has a positive effect on well-being and mood. Such decor will bring respectability to the interior of the room, and create a business atmosphere in the office.

Blinds look great in all rooms on windows, doorways, niches and have a lot of advantages.

  1. Environmentally friendly material.
  2. Versatility - fit perfectly into any interior.
  3. Durability. Wooden blinds will last longer than analogues made from other materials.
  4. Practicality. A well-chosen product will adjust the room.
  5. Ease of operation, easy care - it is enough to periodically wipe with a soft cloth or vacuum.

Before you start manufacturing blinds for any room, you should make sure that there are no factors that can shorten their service life, for example, high humidity that contributes to the deformation of the lamellas.

Classic curtains create comfort in the house, but due to various circumstances, they often have to be washed. Wooden blinds are a more practical solution, and by combining them with textiles, you can create an amazing composition that will look perfect on both traditional wooden and modern plastic windows. The main advantage of self-manufacturing is the ability to choose the shade, shape and width of the slats to your liking, which will allow them to fit into the interior as harmoniously as possible. Planks can be painted in any color, pre-treated with two layers of drying oil, and also decorated with ribbons or other details.

It will not be difficult to buy ready-made blinds, but today it is fashionable to decorate your home with the creation of your own hands, which will please you much more. There are many options for creating a unique design with your own hands. This is not at all difficult to do, you just need to show desire, patience and artistic taste. Self-manufacturing of blinds is a simple, but responsible matter that requires special attention, since even a minor mistake can negate all efforts.
