I prefer the regular version, because it is more convenient, it consumes traffic in the same way.
There are different types of software, the removal of which occurs after the first acquaintance. There are also those who simply perform their functions and are replaced by others if possible. But among all this diversity there are special ones that live in our devices day after day, and for many years, on different devices. Trying to replace them does not bring luck. You always go back to them. Among those applications I have installed: ES File Explorer, CM QuickPic Gallery, MX Player video player and UC Browser browser. The difference between the latter and the initial three is that updates always improve functionality and usability. For example, ES Explorer has acquired functions that no one needs and has acquired half-screen ads, plus the latest version slows down a lot, processes constantly hang in running applications. The line for entering the address and the search is combined, it shows the last opened links and the search history. Previously, entering the address and searching were separate, now it is much more convenient. We can choose search services from the available ones. For example, I chose Google, who is more familiar with what. You can also open the address bar by pressing the magnifying glass in the application's navigation bar and by long pressing the menu button.
Below are 12 site icons, a selection from the manufacturer, and the "More" button, which, when pressed, displays a new submenu with useful sites from the manufacturer. It is divided into subcategories: "Casual", "Photos", "Holiday discounts", "Sports", "News", "Car market". The top two lines, or 10 labels, are untouchable. The last two can be removed. Your frequently used resources will take their place.
The rest of the "desktop" is occupied by a collection of useful, or not very, information. There are also advertising banners, there is no escape from this. When you try to scroll below, you are taken to the "News of the Day" application from the developers of UC Browser, where you can view news from around the world. They are divided into tabs or subgroups: main, politics, sports and stuff like that. I’ll ask those who don’t like the mess on the main screen to calm down. This feature can be disabled in the app settings.

All operations in this area are similar to moving shortcuts on the desktops of smartphones themselves. Most browsers take the same approach, be it Opera mini or Dolphin. We can create folders by dragging labels on top of each other. Several dozen sites are placed in folders, they are scrolled in a vertical plane. After opening a folder, you can give it a name. With a long hold of the finger in the label, we enter the move and delete mode. In each folder and site icon, a circle with a cross will be located at the top left, clicking on which will delete the selected item. You can exit the mode by clicking "Finish" at the very bottom of the screen.
I noted here for myself the first minus of the application: there is no way to change the name of an already added site. You see, there is, for example, a name like "Automobile ...". What kind of "Automobile ...", you can find out only by opening the site. Better immediately Drom.ru, and not a stub from the "Automotive Portal". Another minus pops up here: many sites have the same icons - a "globe" inside a square. I myself like it when the portal logo is immediately visible in the icon. There is no such problem with social networks and search engines, the browser immediately finds the logo, but it does not get along with the rest.
The last shortcut with a plus sign opens the UC Web Store. Previously, you could download add-ons from here, but now it's just a collection of various sites that you can add to the Express Panel.
The icons are arranged in a 4 * 4 grid, although in a 7-inch tablet - 4 * 8. As the screen fills with elements, the rest of the labels go down. Previously, after filling the screen, another screen was provided on the right and you could go to it in the same way as scrolling through desktops in a smartphone: with a gesture to the left.

UC Browser has a very convenient way of working with tabs. I like to open each site or link in the background tab, it's easier to find information, I don't have to constantly go back and open the next link. We go to the work area with tabs by pressing the button located in the lower control panel. Here we see all our open tabs. We can examine them by scrolling left or right. At the very bottom there are three additional buttons.
The very first one, which is the mask of Zorro, includes "Incognito Mode". This mode does not save confidential information such as search history, account passwords. All this we, of course, already know and have seen in other similar browsers.
The central button "Plus" adds a new tab, the adjacent "Back" switches to the tab selected on the screen, which you can go to by clicking on the reduced screen of the site itself. Deletion is possible both by clicking on the cross on the image, and by swiping up.
If you collect all open tabs in a deck by holding your finger on any of the screenshots, it becomes possible to demolish them all at once.
An ellipsis at the very top of the tab menu opens a submenu. It has the ability to open cloud tabs, close all tabs, and switch to list mode. This is an obsolete UC Browser mode, in the oldest versions of the tabs were shown in this mode. I'm used to the "Thumbnails" mode, it is one of the differences from other browsers. Control gestures in UC Browser are very convenient and successful. I'm already so used to trying these tricks in other browsers. The leader in tab navigation was Chrome version 28... There, all you had to do was swipe from the edges of the screen.

There was a case when my brother also installed UC Browser for himself and made a complaint to me that the browser is cool, but when I try to switch between tabs, I return to the previous paragraph. "History/Bookmarks" stores your saved website links and browsing history. In the top menu there are types of bookmark synchronization - cloud or to device memory. "Web Accelerator" speeds up the loading of sites, thanks to the preloading of pages. Here we can enable the option "Next page when scrolling". Honestly, I did not notice the difference after activating the mode and before it. As the following pages were loaded, they are loaded.
The next submenu "My Video" stores the history of watching movies from the built-in video player. You can open clips from the device memory. The video player in the browser is not bad. The controls are very similar to those provided in MX Player. Plus there is a mode where the video will be broadcast in a separate window that can be moved or resized.
The video player has one very useful feature. For example, to download a video from YouTube, you need to add two s in the address bar before youtube.com/..., that is, we get ssyoutube.com/... and we will be redirected to the savefrom.net site, select the desired quality and download the record. What about the site vk.com? There, these operations will not lead to anything. On the computer, it is possible to install the Savefrom.net add-on in the Opera browser and use it to download movies. What can you do on a smartphone or tablet? UC Browser will help us here. For example, if you find a video, you need to download it to your smartphone. Press start, buffering occurs. As soon as the first seconds of the movie are loaded, an arrow will appear in the player panel, by pressing which the download will begin. It can be assumed that it will work on other resources. So, with the help of a simple function, usability is improved.
For those with a great internet connection, there may not be a need to download videos. But those who have an unstable connection and problems with data transfer will be pleased with this feature. After all, it’s more convenient to download a series and then, lying on the couch, watch it than to stand almost motionless near the windowsill so that the connection is not interrupted or the smartphone does not switch the network mode from 3G to 2G.
The "downloader" in UC Browser is excellent, it supports automatic continuation of the download after a sudden loss of network or a stop. The notification panel shows the download speed and the estimated time until the download is completed. In other browsers I have used additional downloader applications such as DVGet or ES File Explorer's "Download Manager". At times there is a need to download large volumes of important data and it is very disappointing when they are interrupted.
It also shows information about the number of different objects: applications, media files, documents. The available memory on the device is visually demonstrated by clicking on it, we get into a simple file manager. Of the functions, only create a folder and delete files. Neither you moving, nor copying. Thank you for that though. The main thing is that there is no need to exit the browser if you need to delete a file from the device.
"Themes" add colorful, bright colors to the browser interface by changing the background image for the main screen. You can constantly change the background from the available images, since the list is constantly growing, or add from your own storage. Here I applied myself a new background and I'm happy as an elephant. The main thing is that the blurred image does not obscure the elements of the lower control panel during operation.
