To adjust the hinge, you must first loosen the six mounting screws for a Phillips screwdriver. You should not completely unscrew the screws, just loosen them slightly so that the mechanism moves.

To adjust the door leaf vertically, tighten or loosen the bottom screw. It is noteworthy that the door, adjusted at the factory, lowers only 1 mm, and rises 4 mm. Such a paradox is caused by the fact that often the canvas needs to be lifted, as it sags under its own weight.

Turning the screw will move the doors to the right or left. The maximum stroke here is about 3 mm.

In the hinges of the WX model, the pressure can still be adjusted. The mechanism itself is located in the second, mating part of the structure. To see it, you must first remove the cap. After that, also open the door and release the locking screw from the inside of the hinge.

This mechanism has another fixing plug. It is installed on top and made under the hexagon. This plug is unscrewed and removed completely.

Now it's time to adjust the pressure. To do this, a key or some device of a suitable size is inserted into special grooves, and the mechanism turns. The key stroke is about 90º, the pressure value is +/- 1 mm.

Do not forget that the mechanisms are "gentle". After adjustment, they must be closed and the locking screws must be tightened. Closing is done in reverse order.

In this case, the good news is that the window and door seals are almost the same, and most importantly, the principle of replacement is no different for them. You should be able to access the bolt that defines the tilt in the horizontal plane. The horizontal is set by adjusting all the loops. If the door sags, it is enough to tighten the two bolts from above and below so that the vertical becomes normal.

Loose handle

The most common problem concerns the closing handle. Loosening occurs during hard operation, sharp turns, not fully tightened bolts. Also, do not hang bags and other heavy objects on the handle. In addition to loosening, this can lead to skew of the entire window. The profile frame itself is not light, and the additional load on it is highly undesirable.

You can get to the mounting bolts by turning the plastic cap at the base of the handle a quarter of a turn (see figure #6). Tighten loose bolts and check operation. When opening or closing the handle, all additional parts responsible for fixing or for the position of the plastic door are activated.

Separately, I would like to note the sealant. Over time, the glue on which it is attached may come off, which means that it will need to be replaced. How to adjust: instruction

Ideally, any man should have knowledge of adjusting the door. And it doesn’t matter what kind of door we are talking about - the entrance, interior or balcony. And even more so, the principle of its operation is not important, whether the opening system is conventional or tilt-and-turn.

In some cases, a pencil lead from a simple pencil helps from creaking, or a small piece of graphite is placed under the loops. This method helps out if extraneous noise is emitted by the loops themselves.

But most often the problem is inside the door leaf. To eliminate it, you will have to lubricate the hinges with machine oil; it is easiest to perform this operation with the doors fully open. Of course, installers of metal-plastic products do not go to the site with machine or any other oil. In a professional environment, a WD-40 canister is used for these purposes, referred to in the male environment as a “vedeshka”. Any car owner is familiar with it.

In all other cases, you can’t do without tools, but any adult can do this work on their own.

Do not postpone the repair of metal-plastic doors for the winter. Not only can some parts break down due to mechanical stress in winter, but even at low temperatures, you can get frostbite on your fingers, especially when it comes to a street door. And when it comes to repairing a balcony door, the result can be the same.

Adjustment of plastic doors begins with a hex key. The hex key is inserted into a hole located either on the hinges of the product, or in the top or center of the door. In some designs, you can get to it after first removing the plastic cover from the canopies. Adjustment can be either horizontal or vertical.

The top and bottom hinges have two adjustment holes. The most inaccessible is the hole located in the corner of the lower hinges. If the hinges fit snugly against the door frame, then you have to sweat a lot to get to it.

It makes sense to perform actions with the lower hinges when the door begins to touch the threshold. When the hex key is turned to one side, either the door is raised or, conversely, the door is lowered. By the way, these recommendations are also suitable in cases where the seal has dents.

In cases where the door has already sagged significantly, a horizontal adjustment will do. Most often this happens under the influence of the own gravity of the metal-plastic. Only this time, all work must be carried out in the upper part of the canvas.

First you need to unscrew the screws in the upper hinges, and remove the decorative plastic, if it is provided for by the design. After that, you can find a metal component with a screw, which is responsible for the ability to adjust the door to the left or right. When turning the hexagon clockwise or counterclockwise, the product moves. It can be aligned exactly to the millimeter.

If there are difficulties with leveling the skew, the horizontal screws should be loosened and adjusted. In this case, it will be easier to align the door in height, and the time spent will not exceed ten minutes.

Many people remember from the school curriculum that plastic expands at high temperatures. By the way, this affects plastic doors in a certain way. In particular, experts recommend weakening the pressure in summer, and not forgetting to increase it in winter. This contributes to solving problems with the appearance of drafts.

Using a hex wrench, tighten or, conversely, loosen a special mechanism - the trunnion. When you need to loosen, you should turn the notch towards you, otherwise, vice versa.

If the design of the plastic door does not provide for the ability to adjust the pin with a hexagon, then you can adjust the clamp with pliers or a wrench. With a parallel arrangement of the trunnion, the clamp will be weak. If you set the perpendicular position, the clamping action will be strong.

In order for the door to close well, it is enough to adjust the operation of the mechanism. Judging by the above, you can tighten the loops yourself with just a hex wrench and a few minutes of free time.

To replace the lock, it is enough to have a screwdriver or a Phillips screwdriver. If it is necessary to repair a plastic balcony door, then in such constructions the lock is most often embedded in the handle, it turns out that replacing the handle will lead to the lock working.

The handle is replaced in a few steps:

But back to changing the lock. First, remove the metal plate that protects the product from unauthorized intervention. If a certain part is out of order, for example, a lock cylinder, then it is replaced. Of course, there is no need to replace other parts. In more advanced cases, a similar procedure will be required, as with the replacement of the handle, described above.

Quite rarely, hinges fail. Their design, made of metal alloys, is so reliable that it serves without repair for several decades. It may be required only if the defective product originally left the factory. Or, if the weight of the door leaf does not match the specifications.

It does not matter at all whether to replace the hinge on a wooden door or the hinges on a plastic one. The procedure may differ only in details. In metal-plastic, first of all, it is necessary to remove the decorative caps. They play not only an aesthetic role, but also protect the metal from moisture.

Knock out the axle mechanism. To do this, take a hammer or mallet. This work is done very carefully, the door must be ajar.
After the appearance of a small metal part, it should be grabbed with pliers (or use pliers) and pulled down.
Tilt the door towards you and lift it slightly (literally to the height of the pin), remove it from the hinges.
We unscrew the old hinges and, using the instructions, mount the new ones.

It remains only to return the door to its usual state. It is desirable to perform this operation together, remember that a plastic door weighs a lot.

The process of replacing overhead closers is also simple. The old mechanism is removed and its exact copy is installed. First, the box is mounted, and then the lever. By connecting the body to the lever, you can begin to adjust the closer. Loosening or, conversely, tightening the screws located at the end of the case. It would seem that people were lucky, some ordered the installation of plastic doors a few years ago, others became happy owners of new square meters, where metal-plastic doors were already installed. But years pass, there is a desire to make not a cosmetic, but a major overhaul of one of the rooms. And at this very moment, there is a realization that it would not be superfluous to move the door from one side to the other. Quite often, this problem concerns the balcony door.

This procedure begins with the removal of handles and door leaf from the hinges.

This procedure was described earlier, so we immediately proceed to the following points:

We remove the remaining fittings from the door leaf, including the built-in lower hinges. To do this, you need to use screwdrivers or a screwdriver. There should not be any particular difficulties. The main thing to remember is that the removed parts are best laid out in the same way as they were installed. And it is especially important not to break the plastic clips, otherwise they will have to be bought in addition.

It is useful to know that fittings vary by manufacturer, and each manufacturer has different series.

Almost all parts are symmetrical, it follows that their mirror rearrangement is possible. In addition to the part called scissors on the frame, you will have to buy it. It is installed at the top of the door. Can be either left or right. Its purpose is to tilt a plastic product.
After all the accessories are removed, we rearrange them in a mirror in the same way. The main thing is to correctly mark the position of the lower loops. At the same time, do not forget about the handle, which will also change its location.
To drill a hole for the handle, you will need a multi-tool with a special nozzle. With it, you can cut a neat rectangular hole without damaging the rest of the door leaf. An ordinary chisel can be a replacement for a multi-tool, but processing plastic will take more time.
For the correct alignment of the fittings, the trunnions should be set strictly in the center. This saves both time and nerves. You should use the instructions and diagrams from the hardware manufacturer.

The connection of the scissors on the frame with the scissors on the sash is possible thanks to the runners that are inserted into the guides. The second locking mechanism are special holes that are superimposed on the plastic sleeve.
With a tilt-and-turn door opening system, there is a mechanism responsible for blocking. By changing the position of the tongue, it becomes possible to install it when the door is hung.
When the door leaf is ready, the fittings on the door frame should also be transferred. Observing the position of the details down to the millimeter, otherwise nothing will work.
The bar responsible for holding the door in a tilt-and-turn system can be symmetrical or asymmetrical. The symmetrical bar is suitable for the right and for the left location. When transferring it, you should carefully examine the detail.

Alignment of the plastic door is possible with a hex key. This procedure is discussed in more detail in the previous sections.
The holes formed at the site of the former location of the handle can be decorated with a special plastic insert, which is called a socket.
And the holes from the hinges should be covered with white liquid nails or filled with liquid plastic.

This process will take a certain amount of time. The easiest way is to hang a door with a conventional opening system, because many of the details that are provided in the design of the door leaf with a tilt-and-turn system are missing in this case.

Mirror hanging balcony block

Although quite rarely people resort to hanging the door leaf, but still such examples are found. By analogy, the mirror arrangement of the balcony block is also being redone. But remember that this may require permission, since the part of the wall that is located under the window will have to be dismantled.

We remove the plastic door and window structures from the hinges using the previously described method. Using an ordinary screwdriver, carefully remove the slopes, corners and the door frame, which rests on the mounting foam.

Having permission in hand, we remove part of the wall. Brickwork is the easiest to remove, with a reinforced concrete slab you will have to tinker a little. The result should be a rectangular opening.

Since the broken part of the wall is small, it is advisable to use bricks to build a new part. Having carried out all the measurements in advance, we get an absolutely equal symmetrical version of the balcony block. It remains only to outweigh the door and insert the window. The procedure is already well known. Then we return the slopes and corners to their original place, and with the help of a sealant and a clean cloth we cover the cracks.

The described transformations may seem very complicated to someone. Yes, and not everyone has such a need. But a huge number of people want to equip the door leaf with a tilt-and-turn opening mechanism.

Modernization of the door leaf

The heating season lasts most of the year, and it is quite natural that during the spring thaw there is a desire to ventilate the room. Most often, the design of the door only allows you to open it only wide open or leaving the door slightly ajar. In this case, cold air enters the room evenly, including in the lower part. Having dealt with the sash, we proceed to the frame, where we have to dismantle the middle clamp and the upper hinge. Instead of the old hinge, a new one, specially designed for the tilt-and-turn opening system, is attached.

On the sash, install the middle lock and the sash part of the scissors. You should periodically refer to the diagrams and instructions supplied with the fittings. Even experts often look into them, there is nothing reprehensible in this: after all, the mechanism is quite complicated.

The next step is to install scissors on the frame and mate at the very bottom of the door frame. Depending on the height of the plastic door, additional strikers are installed. This completes the installation of the system, all that remains is its adjustment with a hex wrench.

If the measurer made the correct measurements, and there was no marriage at the factory, and the installers did their job efficiently, then it will serve faithfully for decades. Horizontal and vertical displacement occurs with the help of two screws, and the pressure is adjusted with a screw and a bar between the hinge and the box.

1. To adjust skew:

Adjustment of plastic doors relative to the vertical axis horizontally (right-left), it is necessary to remove the decorative strip on the hinge installed on the canvas. First you need to open the door and unscrew the screw that holds this bar. Then the door is closed and the bar is removed. Below it are 6 fixing screws for a screwdriver (perpendicular to the blade) and one adjusting screw for a hexagon - parallel to the blade towards the hinge.

By screwing it in or out, you can adjust the door offset relative to the vertical by 5 mm in each direction along the X axis.

2. To raise (and even lower)

has horizontal adjustment up to 6.2 mm, vertical adjustment up to 4 mm, the clamp can be adjusted with a screw up to 1.8 mm (if necessary, the clamp can be improved with additional bushings at the place where the hinge is attached to the box).

1. Horizontal adjustment is carried out with the help of a side screw located under the decorative trim on the hinge, which is attached to the door. First, you need to unscrew the screw that fixes the position of the hinge relative to the "0" level. It is located in the hinge body and runs parallel to the door leaf. Then you need to unscrew the screw that locks the outer decorative hinge body, by shifting which you can access the adjusting screw.

With it, you can move the position of the sash to the right or left.

2. The pressure adjustment takes place on the counterpart of the hinge (fixed on the door frame). It is necessary to remove the decorative cap from the end of the hinge. Under it you can see an eccentric with slots.

In order to release it, it is necessary to unscrew the locking screw (it is located on the side of the hinge body on the door side). Then, using a special key inserted into the slots of the eccentric, it is necessary to turn it to the required angle and lock it. In this way, you can increase or decrease the pressure.

You can use a regular plate or a wide flat screwdriver, but the vertical adjustment screw will interfere. In this case, it must be completely unscrewed.

3. The vertical adjustment is carried out with the help of a screw screwed into the loop from below, through the clamping adjusting eccentric.

How to adjust a plastic balcony door

Adjustment of plastic doors follows the same algorithm as that of a plastic window. Each manufacturer of fittings may have differences in the methods of adjustment, but in many respects they are similar.

Adjustment of plastic doors horizontally (X axis) to the right or left can be done using two screws in the lower and upper hinges (depending on which part of the door “wipes”).

Both screws are visible when the sash is open. The lower one is located in the supporting part of the hinge on the box.

The top one is in the opposite part of the hinge on the sash.

By tightening or unscrewing the screw, you can achieve displacement of the sash from the box or towards it.

Vertical adjustment (Y-axis) is carried out using a screw located in the lower hinge behind the decorative strip, on the outside of the door on the sash itself.

It is located at the end. By screwing it in or unscrewing it, the door is raised or lowered.

The pressure is adjusted by turning the eccentrics located in the vertical end of the door leaf.

First you need to find out in which part the clamp is too loose or strong. Eccentrics "work" in tandem with locking plates on the box. If the eccentric is located along the sash - the pressure is minimal, perpendicularly - maximum. Turn the eccentric with pliers.

Another type of door pressure adjustment is carried out not with the help of eccentrics, but with the help of a locking pin at the end of the leaf.

It has a hole for a hex key and a control point (risk). Depending on the position of this point, the pressure may be stronger or weaker. Adjustment of plastic doors and very similar.

There is a third type of pressure adjustment, which occurs with the help of a reciprocal (locking) plate located on the box itself. It can move relative to the box, thereby strengthening and weakening the adjoining door.

In addition, you can adjust the plastic door of the balcony not only from the side of the hinges and eccentrics, but also adjust the pressure from the side of the folding mechanism.

First you need to fold the open sash.

But the mechanism itself does not allow turning the handle up with the sash open. To remove the fixation of the handle, it is necessary to press the "tongue" (flag, clip) at the end of the door, in the area of the handle itself.

It may look different, but it has the same principle of operation - when closed, the sash presses it and unlocks the handle, which can be turned up, setting the door for ventilation. If you open the door and press the “tongue” with your hand, then the door in this state can be folded up at the top. But at the same time, it is better to keep it on weight - after all, it will stay down at one point on the bottom loop.

The inner part of the mechanism of the upper fittings will open (usually the door “closes” it). There will be one (or two) eccentrics with hex adjusting screws.
