  • Before you start weaving a wreath, you need to measure your head so that it does not fall off it in the future. After that, it is necessary to make a frame for the future product from a metal wire.

  • We prepare paper flowers for work. If the flowers on a long stem need to be cut off, and a wire should be drawn under the cup of the bud, with which it will then be attached to the frame. If the flowers are small, then they must be collected in small compositions. In such a composition there should be no more than 4 flowers. Before the cup of each flower, you need to fix the wire.

  • At the next stage, we proceed to fixing the flowers on the frame. They should alternate in size and color in order for the hair wreath to turn out beautiful and spectacular. Thus, you can make a classic wreath or hoop.

  • To make the frame, you need to take a dense wire, if it is not there, then you can weave a pigtail out of the usual one. Flowers can be attached to such a pigtail with glue, and you only need to wind them on a regular wire.

Weaving a wreath for the head in natural conditions

You can weave a wreath from any flowers that grow in the area where you are resting. Most often weave decorations from wildflowers and dandelions. It is necessary to pluck the plant only with a long and strong stem, so that it does not tear during the weaving process. A wreath of cornflowers and daisies looks very beautiful. For a change, you can fly in the leaves of closely growing trees.

Basic weaving rules

  • To start weaving, you need to fold three stems and start weaving like an ordinary pigtail.
  • When the first curl is ready, it is necessary to weave the second one into its center. According to this principle, you need to weave until it matches the volume of the head.
  • To make the products look lush, the flowers must be placed tightly to each other.

You can weave in another way:

  • In one bunch, you need to collect several buds with long and dense stems.
  • New flowers must be inserted into the resulting bundle, wrapping the previous ones in parallel. According to this principle, it is necessary to continue until the desired size is reached. To hide the protruding tips, the plants need to be attached tightly to each other.
  • To connect both sides, you can use a thread, and if it is not at hand, then with a dense blade of grass.

How to DIY

For the manufacture will require the following materials:

  • wire;
  • flowers on twigs or individual buds;
  • ribbons.

To ensure that the base is firmly fixed on the head, you can use a headband. It is recommended to complement the flowers with beads and various greens. So the composition will look more beautiful and richer.

Of the tools you need only scissors. For the convenience of attaching flowers, stylists advise using a glue gun. The hot fixing method will quickly and securely fix the desired fragment on the base. This will save a lot of time on drying the surface.

Elements for the composition are used from different materials. For celebrations and stately events, hair is decorated with a rim of living inflorescences. But more often plastic and paper are used. The composition made of fabric looks very impressive. The skill is honed over the years, as a result of which buds are obtained that cannot be immediately distinguished from real flowers.

From artificial flowers

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Measure the circumference of the head to create a wire frame. If it is not possible to take a measurement, then you should make a wire rim with open ends, on which the ribbons are fixed. By tying at the back of the head, the wreath can be worn in different sizes. In the case of using measurements, you need to cut 3-4 wire rods, equal to the circumference of the head plus 4-5 cm in length to fix the ring. Twist the base from them, without closing the ends.
  2. Take branches of artificial flowers and disassemble them into individual buds and leaves. Short branches are also suitable for composition. Flowers should be cut close to the base so that the stems do not interfere with the fastening.
  3. Preliminarily make a blank of buds and leaves, laying it out on the table. Larger fragments are placed in the center, small fragments are placed towards the back of the head. Flowers should overlap in tone and size, and the overall composition should be complemented by greenery from leaves and twigs.
  4. Cut out circles from felt, smaller in diameter than flower buds.
  5. Glue a piece of felt to each piece so that a free strip 0.5-0.7 mm wide remains in the center.
  6. String all the elements one by one, pulling the wire base into the empty space in the center of the felt.
  7. Distribute and correct the composition.
  8. Twist the ends of the wire wrapped around each other several times.
  9. Cover the junction of the rim with flowers.

From fresh flowers

Step by step instructions for making a wreath:

  1. Make a wire frame. To do this, you need to cut 3-4 twigs, the length of which will be equal to the size of the head circumference plus 3-4 cm to fix the ends.
  2. Prepare the plants by cutting their stems into 10-14 cm pieces. In order for the flowers not to wither quickly, they should be treated with a floral spray. So the wreath will keep a presentable look for a long time.
  3. Wrap the resulting ring with a 4-5 cm floral tape, and then alternately lay the wreath fragments. Each stalk is tightly fixed with tape, making 3-4 turns. You need to arrange the elements denser to each other. The main flowers, field herbs, and other greens will serve as elements. As an addition, you can use beads and pebbles, planted on pieces of wire. In combination with fresh flowers, the decor will look elegant.
  4. The stems of the last elements hide under fixed plants and tightly fixed with tape.

Wreaths from living inflorescences can be woven without creating a frame. Cutting the stems in this case is not necessary. Weave to start with the formation of a bundle of 3-5 stems. Each new fragment wraps around the long stems of the initial bundle in two turns (before and after the inflorescence).

The end is connected to the bundle and closed into a ring with a floral tape. To give the accessory strength, you can put a satin ribbon on the stems of the initial bundle. Use it later to connect the composition.

From autumn leaves

A wreath of autumn leaves looks very beautiful. The most popular is maple. Its leaves turn yellow faster than other trees, and the structure is strong, not losing its original appearance for a long time.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Attach 4-6 leaves at the same time to the rim prepared from wire. Fix with floral tape.
  2. After 3-4 bunches of maple leaves, insert rowan on a branch. A reminder of summer will be useful. To do this, you can insert green leaves every 5-7 rows.
  3. The stems of the last fragments need to be hidden under the fixed leaves, and cut off the excess.

From paper

Paper flowers are very delicate and fragile. When worn, they can lose their shape, so the masters recommend fixing flower arrangements on a solid foundation. An ordinary hoop is best suited for this. It is better if its base is wide, then the accessory will turn out to be massive.

Instruction:

  1. Lay out a composition of paper buds and leaves on the table. You can add plastic greenery and beads fixed on a wire. Place the massive part in the middle, and place small elements to the edges.
  2. Alternately fasten the fragments to the base of the hoop using hot glue or PVA.
  3. Seal the composition with greenery and other decor.
  4. Parts of the hoop that go behind the ears no need to cover with floral elements.

From tapes

To create a wreath, you will need to prepare elements: 4-5 types of flowers, greenery, stamens. All of them are made of satin and organza ribbons. If everything is clear in terms of the tonality of the colors (for a beautiful composition, they are made from various bright colors), then the leaves are cut out to create a three-dimensional composition from several shades of green ribbon. To add airiness, you need to use organza blanks.

The shape of greenery should repeat the outlines of the leaves of several plants. For example: poplar, oak, maple. All edges of elements made of tapes must be melted to prevent fraying of threads. For these purposes, you can use a lighter. The most commonly chosen flowers are: poppies, daisies, cornflowers, roses, chrysanthemums, asters. They are well combined with each other or in addition to other inflorescences.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Braid the rim with green ribbon in the “snake” way. Fix the ends of weaving with a needle and thread. This will be the base.
  2. Glue the leaves along the contour of the rim on both sides. Lay the elements with an overlap, using different types of greenery. You should get a solid base.
  3. Next, fasten glue flowers.
  4. Lastly, the composition is compacted with organza leaves. They need to be fixed at once in 3-5 pieces. Then the wreath will be big.
  5. Sew an elastic band 10-15 cm to the edges of the rim(depending on head circumference). It should be decorated with green organza.
  6. Sew a few freely sagging ribbons of 30-40 cm onto the elastic. It will look beautiful if you use satin strips of different thicknesses (1 and 2 cm). Their colors should overlap with the tones of the colors used in the composition. Along the edges of the ribbons, make a beautiful triangular undercut.

  • For long-term events, you should carefully use accessories from live inflorescences. They quickly lose their appearance and by the middle of the celebration they will completely lose their presentable appearance if they are not previously kept in the refrigerator. A special spray bought at a florist's shop will help prevent rapid fading.
  • If active rest is foreseen, the reliability of fastening the wreath should be taken into account. Ribbons tied at the back of the head will help to better fix the headband on the head.
  • A bright wreath of large flowers should not be complemented with catchy makeup. You will get an image overload.
  • The flower accessory looks spectacular on loose and slightly curled hair. Appearance acquires features of tenderness, romanticism and freshness.
  • You can make a wreath from several branches of artificial flowers. First, you need to parse the branches into separate fragments. Then assemble the composition by gluing the elements onto the hoop.
  • For celebrations and weddings, it is recommended to use accessories from small flowers in pastel colors. Thin satin ribbons will give the decoration a fit for its intended purpose.
  • Before making a wreath for the bride from natural flowers, you should consult with a florist. The specialist will tell you which plants are better to make jewelry. Quick damage to the flower rim can ruin the holiday.
  • The longer the strands, the larger the elements of the composition in the wreath.
  • The accessory should fit comfortably on the head. Do not build too bulky rims. It is inconvenient to wear them, and in the photo the face will constantly be lost in buds and leaves.
  • If the bride's outfit involves the addition of a wreath, then the buds from the rim should overlap with the bouquet.

A wreath of flowers is a charming craft that you can make yourself. It is very easy to create such a product, and step-by-step instructions with detailed photos will help you make it right.

Wreath of artificial flowers

Fresh flowers are by far the most beautiful, but artificial ones also look charming. Therefore, if you do not have fresh or dried peonies available, you can easily replace them with artificial ones. A wreath made of this material looks quite presentable, and besides, it is very easy to manufacture!

How to do?

Note: For this project we used an old vine wreath. To save money, you can use a smaller wreath that requires fewer flowers. You can also reuse an old wreath base, or add fake flowers you have at home.

Step 1: cut the flowers

Using wire cutters or heavy scissors, cut off the flowers, leaving about 7-8 cm of stem. For this 45 cm wreath, we used two artificial peony bushes. Each of them had 8 flowers.

Step 2: Attach Peonies

Using strong wire, evenly attach four peony flowers to the wreath.

Note: Use a dense vine wreath so you don't need glue. Plus, you can reuse the flowers and wreath in the future.

Then place four more peonies between the first four flowers. Position them at different angles, some pointing inward and some pointing outward.

Step 3: Add Other Decor

Attach small peony buds evenly to the wreath. Also at this stage, you can add any other artificial flowers that you have at home to the product.

Step 4: hang the product on the door

Hang a wreath on the door, which will give you the opportunity to see all its flaws.

Cut the green stems of Gypsophila into small sprigs and place them evenly on the wreath. Also add green stems and leaves from the peony bushes to the product.

The great thing about using a vine wreath and artificial flowers is that you can easily set up and move them around without worrying about damage.

This wreath should resist the elements well, but it will still be better if it has some kind of cover on top. We love how it adds spring to our doorstep, even if it's still winter outside!

PS: If you grow peonies in your garden or have access to them, try drying them to create a beautiful wreath of dried peonies. Read the next tutorial!

Dried peonies wreath

Peonies are stunningly beautiful and fragrant flowers. Unfortunately, their flowering period is very short. So why not dry them and then create a charming spring flower wreath for the door? This craft will delight you with its appearance for more than one month!

How to do?

Step 1: Dry Your Peonies

Cut fresh flowers and peony buds as much as possible.

Wash the flower heads in cold water. So you remove dirt and insects from them.

Spread the washed flowers on the table and let them dry a little.

Collect the flowers in bouquets and tie them with a rubber cord to fix them. After that, hang them to dry in the basement.

The peonies will dry out in about two weeks. These time frames may vary, depending on the humidity in the home. Some of our peonies were spaced too close together and didn't look as good as the others. Therefore, it is desirable to place them at a distance from each other.

Step 2: Place the flowers on the wreath

Initially, attach the largest of your flowers to the wreath. Use a glue gun for this.

Then add small flowers and buds to the wreath.

Refresh the piece with a few green twigs and leaves.

Note: If peonies are not enough for you, you can add other flowers to the product, such as hydrangeas or roses. You can also use a smaller base.

Step 3: fix the product

To protect the wreath, coat it with several coats of acrylic lacquer, matte or semi-gloss. It will still be very fragile, so find a secure place for it indoors to hang it up.

This wreath looks very shabby yet chic and romantic, and we're happy to extend the life of all those beautiful peonies!

This project did not cost us a penny, and we brought it to life with pleasure. You can also make this wreath of flowers for a special occasion, like a wedding or the birthday of someone special. Not all flowers will dry as well as others, but if you throw them away anyway, why not give it a try?!

Square wreath of hydrangeas

Hydrangeas are stunningly beautiful flowers, painted by nature in a variety of shades. And if you live in a private house, and hydrangeas grow in your garden, why not create a wreath from them and decorate your home with them?

If you don't have a free grapevine wreath available, you can easily replace it with other materials. For example, wire hangers! Read on our master class and you will learn how to do it right!

How to do?

Step 1: Dry Your Hydrangeas

Drying hydrangeas is a great way to save beautiful flowers for use in your home decor. Wait until the end of the season when the flowers begin to dry on the shrub. At this time, they will begin to take on a blurry antique look. Some of them will even be dry to the touch.

Cut the flowers and place them in a bucket or vase with a little water (3-5 cm).

After about a week or two, the water will evaporate and the flowers will dry in place. Pretty simple, right?

Step 2: Prepare the Hydrangeas for the Wreath

Before you start, immerse the dried flowers in a bucket of water.

It's incredible how flexible and cuddly hydrangeas will be if you soak them with water first. Although they have been completely dried for several months, they are able to absorb some water in a short time. Perhaps that is why they are called "hydra".

Step 3: make the base

Take your wire hangers and unroll them.

Use two hangers to make a square.

The most important attribute of a wedding look is undoubtedly the dress. But one dress, even the most beautiful and fashionable, is “not tasty” in itself. Just as spices help a chef bring out the full flavor of his signature dish, so do accessories, such as small and insignificant little things, complete the look and make it unique. In the article we will talk about wedding wreaths on the head.

Every girl dreams of being in a fairy tale and becoming a beautiful princess at least once in her life. And on the wedding day, so touching and exciting, this desire is greater than ever. The bride pays special attention to the choice of dress and image in general. After all, on this day she should be the most-most. The wedding industry is rapidly developing, and today it is difficult to determine which image is in trend. Modern girls are free to choose the perfect wedding image, so everything is possible - from virgin tenderness to flashy glamour.

A small detail of a big event

Finally, high, varnished hairstyles, with a bunch of hairpins, are becoming a thing of the past, and this atavism is being replaced by lightness and naturalness. Clean, well-groomed hair - loose, braided in a light braid or gathered in a careless bun - this is the perfect wedding hairstyle.

Today, many girls, choosing a wedding look, try to use a minimum of details, striving for simplicity. Therefore, often the only addition to a wedding dress is a wreath.

A wreath is a great alternative to a veil. If you delve into the historical significance of wedding attributes, a wreath is a symbol of the virginity and purity of the bride. A wreath is gentle, beautiful and so girlish.

Story

The bride's dress in this style is preferably simple and uncomplicated, but made of expensive materials. But the wreath should be voluminous and bright. It is best to emphasize its burgundy shades of peonies, roses, wildflowers.

Eco-wedding, rustic style wedding

These styles are united by conciseness and the desire to merge with nature. The bride's attire should be light, airy and delicate, creating the image of a romantic young lady or a forest nymph. This image is wonderfully complemented by a plexus of succulents, ruscus, limonium and other simple and unpretentious plants. Roses of calm shades are also appropriate. Shabby chic wedding

Shabby chic style is delicate pastel shades with a vintage touch. implies an elegant lace dress, which, of course, will suit a wreath of peonies.

With a great desire and imagination, the accessory can fit into any wedding style - retro, gothic and even steampunk.

The wreath will be on the bride's head for quite a long time, therefore:

  • decoration should be as light as possible;
  • all elements of the wreath must be securely fastened;
  • should not cause the slightest discomfort.

Sometimes minor little things like a wilted flower or a wire that has come out of a wreath frame can spoil the impression of the whole holiday.

From living plants

Inflorescences of fresh flowers are a great addition to the delicate and feminine image of a young bride. Almost all fresh flowers can be used to create a wreath.

Before deciding on such a wedding accessory, it is advisable to consult an experienced florist who will tell you which flowers are suitable for the bride's wreath in a particular case.

Whether a flower is suitable or not depends on many factors: the style of the wedding, the venue for the celebration, and. Even the color of the bride's eyes, the shade of her hair, or the scent of the flowers can influence the final choice of this accessory.

When collecting a crown of several types of fresh flowers, you need to remember that some plants "feud" with each other, and if such "enemies" are nearby, they will instantly wither and ruin the decoration.

On a note! Do not worry that he will lose his appearance prematurely. With proper selection of flowers and careful care for them, a wedding wreath of natural flowers will last long enough, and a wedding look with a wreath will look incredibly feminine and gentle.

When choosing a composition, there are a few key points to keep in mind:

  • Fresh flowers are very fragile and short-lived, so a crown of such flowers will have to be sprayed several times a day with water or a special spray, especially if the celebration fell on a hot sunny day;
  • The accessory can complement the color scheme of the bride and groom's outfits or become an independent bright accent;
  • When choosing, you need to take into account what flowers will be in the floristic compositions in the banquet hall, at the registration of marriage and other wedding events, as well as in the bride's bouquet;
  • If the bride is interested in the energy of plants, it’s a good idea to first study what this or that flower symbolizes.

We make an accessory with our own hands

An experienced florist will easily create the perfect crown that will harmoniously complement the image chosen by the bride. However, a do-it-yourself wedding wreath looks no worse than a custom-made one. But if such a specialist is suddenly not nearby or the budget is limited, you can make this accessory yourself.

To do this, your own hands and boundless imagination will come to the rescue.

Instruction

To weave a crown of fresh flowers, you will need:

  • floristic tape (teip-tape) of green color;
  • scissors or nippers;
  • flower buds, various greens, dried flowers;
  • decor (rhinestones, ribbons, beads).

First you need to measure the circumference of the head and cut off a piece of wire a little longer. If the wire is very thin, you can weave a pigtail out of it by connecting several parts together.

The ends of the wire are neatly fixed together, and the wire is wrapped with teip tape. The frame is ready. Then the flower buds, previously formed into small groups, are attached to the frame with wire. Their location depends on the general idea and imagination. For a magnificent wreath, 10 - 12 large elements are enough.

When the base with fresh flowers is ready, it's time to decorate. Depending on the style of the wedding and your own desire, the accessory can be decorated with gypsophila, green leaves, grass, ears of corn, berries and fruits, feathers, as well as artificial materials - beads, rhinestones, ribbons. Additional strength to the wreath will be given by thin and strong stems, blades of grass, ears that can be woven between the main elements. A do-it-yourself wedding wreath of fresh flowers is ready.

Composition without the use of living plants

Artificial flowers do not contain a secret meaning and do not have any energy. But they are durable and will not fall into disrepair at the most inopportune moment. The bride will not have to worry about a wreath of artificial flowers, it will delight her throughout the celebration.

As part of an artificial decoration, anything can be: ribbons, ready-made flowers and inflorescences, pearls, rhinestones, ribbons. The main thing is that the material suits the bride and harmonizes with her image.

Foamiran wreaths have become very popular recently. This modern artificial material, soft and pliable, has a wide range of shades. It is very easy to make it out of it.

In addition to foamiran, other materials are widely used to create a wreath of artificial flowers: fabric, polymer clay, cold porcelain.

It is advisable to give preference to quality materials. Poor quality artificial flowers can greatly reduce the cost of the image, making it tasteless.

Fantasy is limitless, and the most important thing here is to stop in time so as not to go too far with shocking.

How to do it yourself

After the color scheme of the wedding and the bride's outfit is determined, you need to decide what the wreath will consist of. Since it is much easier to work with artificial material than with natural flowers, creating such an accessory should not be difficult. So how to assemble a wedding wreath on your head with your own hands?

For work you will need:

  • thin wire (ideal diameter - 3 mm);
  • satin ribbon of the desired shade or floristic ribbon (teip tape) of green color;
  • scissors or nippers;
  • artificial flowers from various materials;
  • decor (rhinestones, ribbons, beads and everything that the imagination tells);
  • glue gun.

So, all materials are prepared. Now we will tell you how to make a wedding wreath. To do this, cut off the required amount of wire with wire cutters or scissors. The length of the wire should be more than the circumference of the head by a couple of centimeters. Then the ends of the wire must be connected. The junction and the entire frame of the wreath is decorated with a ribbon. The base for the wreath is ready.

Next, you can proceed to the decor. First, large elements of the future decoration are attached to the frame with a thin wire, then smaller details are added. If flowers with long stems are used when creating a wreath, it is advisable to cut them off, leaving about five centimeters from the bud. Large flowers should be attached alternately, wrapping their stems in one direction and wrapping them with tape.

Since the material is artificial, it is not afraid of hot glue. Therefore, using a glue gun, you can securely fix various decorative elements, making it even more reliable and durable.

Summarizing

When the preparations for the celebration are completed and the most important day is scheduled to the minute, the bride only has to put on a fabulous outfit and, decorating her head with a wreath, wait for her prince.

Wedding wreaths on the head of artificial flowers or natural flowers will surely distinguish the owner from a multitude of brides, giving her image originality. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare in advance for increased attention from guests and just passers-by who will meet on a walk in the park, during a photo shoot, near the registry office and other places where the bride will be with a beautiful wreath on her head.

Which of the girls in childhood did not weave a wreath of dandelions! This is such a fun and interesting activity. But even now, on the covers of glossy magazines and in stores, wreaths of flowers on the head of fresh or artificial flowers are increasingly appearing as part of the wardrobe - a separate accessory. The idea of \u200b\u200bwreaths of flowers on the head came from the distant past. So, for example, in Mexico, such wreaths were worn on the day of all the dead as part of the costume.

Photo below:

Today, any girl can make such a wreath with her own hands. There are a lot of types of weaving of this accessory, but in general, 3 stand out:

  • weaving on wire;
  • weaving on the stem (in the likeness of dandelions). By the way, who suddenly forgot how to do this, we attach a diagram:

  • on the rim.

Weaving on wire

You will need: wire according to the size of the head, natural or artificial flowers, scissors and ribbons for decoration if desired. It is better to choose a thicker wire, or twist several thin ones, as shown in the picture:

Flowers must be attached to the wire. If they are artificial, then simply cut off the stem, insert a thin wire instead, and fasten one wire to the other. And so in a circle. If you chose fresh flowers, then remember that they will last much less, but, of course, they look more spectacular.

A few video tutorials on how to make a wreath on a wire.

Weaving on the stem

For this weaving, you will need fresh flowers, it is most convenient to weave from wildflowers, but you can take a chance and weave from any others. Flower stems should not be short and all the same length, from 7 to 10 centimeters. It is necessary to first free the stems from the leaves. Further actions:

  • Fasten three flowers with wire a centimeter from the bud.

  • Interlace the stems of the three flowers several times;
  • Take a new flower and attach it just below the first three buds;
  • Weave the stem of the new flower into others;
  • Take a new flower, but weave it on the other side;

  • Weave to the desired length;
  • At the end, fasten with wire, as shown in the photo:
