The design of the Khrushchev kitchen should include everything you need so as to smooth out the feeling of tightness and walls approaching from all sides. At the same time, the gas column must be harmoniously entered into the kitchen furniture. Column masking
You can visually divert your gaze from the gas column if you hide it in a wall cabinet, select a separate part of the shelf for it or close it with a door. The required minimum free space around the gas equipment is 3 cm. This is taken into account when designing the dimensions of the hanging shelves. The shelf inside the cabinet is 3-5 cm away from the walls of its cell to ensure free air flow around it.

The wall cabinet provides a hole for the gas pipe and corrugations, as well as ventilation holes. A row of hanging cabinets will help disguise the chimney if placed directly below it.

The supply gas and water pipes located below the column can be masked by the construction along the wall of a separate box-locker. For better aesthetics, it can be finished with tiles in the same color as the backsplash (images 1 and 2).
You can decorate the column body by painting it in the same tone as the kitchen set, or purchase gas equipment in a ready-made color scheme that matches the tone of the walls. Such a design decision will make the column visually invisible, it will turn into an element of the interior and will no longer attract attention with its external absurdity. For painting, heat-resistant paint for metal or automotive paint is used. There are different options for decorating a gas column, one of them is applying a pattern (image 3).
To hide a column hanging on the wall, you can move it to a corner, but such an action must be coordinated with the gas service.

Optimal use of work space
To optimize the internal space in the kitchen, you need to decide on the minimum sufficient set of furniture. Among the obligatory kitchen interior items are a stove, a sink, a table, a refrigerator. For a small room, it is necessary to provide for the absence of sharp furniture corners. Furniture for a successful design should be made in individual sizes (to order).

When placing it, it is necessary to use one or two kitchen walls as much as possible and leave free space along the third wall and window. To do this, all the necessary furnishings are placed in the form of a furniture wall along one of the walls. The lower tier is a table, stove, sink, a gas water heater hangs on the wall from above, next to it is a wall cabinet or hanging shelves. The entire surface of the kitchen wall should be used for installing or hanging furniture, the height of wall cabinets can reach the ceiling (image 5).

You can significantly optimize the space by using various folding, folding and built-in interior items: a folding table, folding chairs, built-in shelves or a sideboard. A convenient kitchen design in Khrushchev apartments with a gas water heater cannot be organized without folding furniture of any possible design. The tone of kitchen furniture for the Khrushchev kitchen design should be light, white is best. Suitable white furniture with bright accents. A small pattern on the walls is possible if they are not covered with cabinets.
