How to restore liquid wallpaper. Do-it-yourself liquid wallpaper: we make liquid wallpaper at home. How to calculate the required volume of the mixture

Very popular todaydecorative plaster , sometimes it is also called liquid wallpaper. Even without any building skills, with the help of liquid wallpaper it is easy to repair the walls in your apartment. Decorative plaster (wallpaper) is a dry mass, packaged in bags - in this form it is usually sold.

Preparing the mixture

Pour the dry mass into a basin and fill it with water at room temperature in the volume indicated in the instructions on the package. If there are additives in the package, then first they should be poured into the water, and only then the dry mass. Stir the resulting mixture thoroughly and let it stand for at least three hours (and preferably 8-10 hours). After the specified time, the mass will take the form of thick oatmeal.

Wall processing

Using a roller, the surface of the walls is treated with an acrylic primer. The best option is to process in two layers. The primer dries quickly enough - in about 1.5 hours. If the walls have a noticeable curvature, then it is absolutely not necessary to align them - you can use large structural wallpapers that will hide the flaws.

Applying liquid wallpaper

To apply the mixture, it is better to use a plastic grater - a metal grater is inconvenient, as it does not bend. In the process of applying the mixture, hold the grater correctly - the angle with respect to the wall should be approximately 10-15 degrees. When determining the thickness of the applied layer, it is worth following the recommendations indicated on the package. If the mixture is properly prepared, then it adheres well to the wall, does not slip off it and does not fall off. Smooth out existing irregularities using a grater or structural roller. The tool must be periodically moistened with water. The result of the work performed should be a smooth surface without visible seams.
It is recommended to think over the options for decorating the walls in advance. With the help of liquid wallpaper of different color palettes, you can create the most bizarre images - patterns, ornaments, arches, reliefs, etc.

Drying and fixing

The walls will finally dry out no earlier than two days later. Liquid wallpaper can be easily damaged by accident (scuffs, scratches may appear), so it is advisable to cover the dried walls with acrylic varnish. This will protect them from mechanical damage. If in the process of work or later you notice small scratches or dents on the wallpaper, wet this place with water, smooth it with a grater and let it dry. If you find a dirty spot, soak the problem area well, clean the wallpaper layer with a spatula and apply a new layer to this area.
From the rest of the mixture, you can form a ball and dry it. It will come in handy if there is a need to repair damage (the process is described above).

Approximate need for materials and tools for self-repair

For a room measuring 3 by 5 meters you will need:
Dry material - 10-11 packages, and when buying a large-textured material - up to 14 packages (it is used to apply a thicker and more durable layer);
Acrylic primer - about 10 kg;
Of the tools - a plastic grater, a structural roller, a spatula.

Good luck with the repair!

To be honest, such a decorative coating does not look much like ordinary wallpaper, from a distance it resembles a stone, but close up it looks like dense felt. On the other hand, the material is not so liquid - it is sold in dry form, but is applied like plaster. And only we call it "liquid wallpaper"! But, despite such two-valued moments, liquid wallpaper is an ideal finishing material. And you can apply them on a horizontal and vertical surface, as well as oblique-curved walls and ceilings.

Features of liquid wallpaper

Liquid wallpaper appeared on the Russian market when not only vinyl silk-screen printing was new, but also any alternative to paper finishes. Such a word as "wallpaper" among many of our citizens is clearly associated with paper rolls, which are not at all easy to glue on an uneven surface. And in the case of liquid wallpaper, just paper is the main component in the raw mixture, that is, natural cellulose fibers are present in the composition.

In the classic version, "liquid wallpaper" consists of natural fibers (these are cellulose, silk and cotton), an environmentally friendly water-based dye and a binder (CMC glue, acrylic dispersion). Marble and quartz chips, colored flocks may be present to give a special effect. A frequent attribute of liquid wallpaper is mica glitter, they are usually sold in a separate package and, if desired, can be added to the mass during kneading.

Liquid wallpaper is intended exclusively for interior decoration of housing. They are great for a variety of living spaces and are, of course, environmentally friendly. From the point of view of design, liquid wallpapers are best suited for a nursery and bedroom, where you most want comfort and warmth. And from the position of physical properties - for a living room or a large room in which there will be a home theater. After all, these are fibrous coatings, which are distinguished by excellent soundproofing properties, and they are also able to increase the acoustic characteristics of the room.

You can count on the fingers the manufacturers of the original finish. A dozen and a half names of liquid wallpaper are offered by the Russian company Silk Plaster. A similar quality and assortment is offered by the Turkish manufacturer Bayramyx. But slightly higher price. And materials from French manufacturers are recommended for the design of VIP interiors, for example, by Fibres de cotex and Senideco.

Advantages and disadvantages of liquid wallpaper

"Liquid wallpaper" has a number of advantages over both decorative plasters and conventional wallpaper. The very first advantage is that they do not need a lot of space to use and prepare. As usual, they do not need to be glued and cut, which leads to residues falling on the floor. There is also no need to carefully level the ceiling before finishing the ceiling with liquid wallpaper.

The second advantage of liquid wallpaper is comfortable work with the material: no smell, no drinking. It is easy to apply without joints, and also fills the gaps at the junction of the ceiling with the wall, window frame, ceiling plinth. Liquid wallpaper is convenient due to its plasticity for finishing columns, arches, bay windows and other architectural delights. Even after drying, a certain elasticity remains; after shrinking at home, such a finish does not crack.

The third advantage of liquid wallpaper is its microporous structure, which provides high sound and thermal insulation, but at the same time the surface remains “breathable”, it does not form a greenhouse effect and dampness, as happens when using vinyl wallpaper.

The coating does not absorb all kinds of odors and does not attract dust. In the event of a fire during combustion, it does not emit toxic gases. If you stained the wallpaper for any reason or somehow spoiled the area, then you need to cut this area out, and then dilute the remaining liquid wallpaper in water and cover the ceiling using the same technology.

The main disadvantage of liquid wallpaper is the high cost when compared with traditional wallpaper or stretch fabric. And although liquid wallpaper becomes more and more affordable every year, the price of liquid wallpaper on the ceiling does not remain at a high level, which is an important factor for many people.

Another disadvantage is that, compared to traditional wallpaper, there is not such a variety of colors. Although this shortcoming will not be in the near future thanks to companies that produce liquid wallpaper and come up with more and more extraordinary solutions in order to expand the variety of liquid wallpaper. And the last drawback is that liquid wallpaper is not intended for washing, although they write that they are moisture resistant, so traces will be noticeable when flooded by neighbors.

Surface preparation

Liquid wallpaper can be applied to any type of surface - OSB, brickwork, cement screed, drywall, metal, clay, wood. Liquid wallpaper has excellent adhesion to all materials and does not peel off during operation.

The main requirements for the surface on which liquid wallpaper is going to be applied are the following postulates:

  1. The base must be strong (there should be no areas on the ceiling that fall off);
  2. Color fastness, that is, the color of the base should not start up when moisture gets in. This is true for metal surfaces, since when moisture gets in, they corrode;
  3. Quite low moisture absorption, that is, the plane for application should not actively absorb moisture.

First, the surface on which liquid wallpaper will be applied is cleaned of loose plaster, putty and old paper wallpaper. It is also desirable to putty large cracks, and this can be done with liquid wallpaper itself, applying them, however, material consumption increases, and the price of such repairs increases.

To give the ceiling strength, it is imperative to prime with a colorless or white high-quality deep-penetrating primer. The primer prevents penetration of moisture into the depths, and also strengthens the surface.

We recommend, based on many years of experience, to use a primer concentrate diluted in a ratio of 1:3 under liquid wallpaper. You can not categorically use the Ceresit CT17 primer (such a primer can cause yellow spots on the wallpaper).

If your surface may contain elements that are capable of coloring liquid wallpaper (metal objects that are susceptible to corrosion, corners, nails, fittings), then such places should be covered with a layer of water-based paint that does not dissolve (oil, latex paint or PF enamel).

The final step in the preparatory stage is roughening the ceiling. Liquid wallpaper can be applied immediately on a sufficiently rough surface, for example, on unpolished plaster or after puttying start. If a smooth surface is obtained (concrete, sanded putty or smooth wood), then a layer of primer containing quartz dust must be applied to it.

You can make your own quartz primer by adding quartz (marble) dust or fairly fine sand to a regular primer. For economical and convenient application of the material, a rough surface is necessary, a mass of liquid wallpaper is laid on it in an even layer without gaps, and on a smooth surface, when liquid wallpaper is applied, it can stretch behind a spatula.

Preparation of a mixture of liquid wallpaper

If you have already bought liquid wallpaper, you need to get down to this business, after preparing them! Shake the filler bag several times, this will help you mix the mixture more easily in the future. And also you will avoid quite a lot of lumps. It is necessary to prepare a container for stirring liquid wallpaper: baths, basins and buckets, as shown in the photo of liquid wallpaper on the ceiling.

You should choose dishes based on volume - close to 7-8 liters per 1 package of liquid wallpaper. It is desirable for the convenience of work that there be a vessel of moderate depth (20-30 centimeters) and a round diameter (40-60 centimeters). The container is easy to clean after work, and therefore it is quite possible to use kitchen utensils for the preparation of liquid wallpaper.

The water must be clean for the preparation of liquid wallpaper, and the water temperature must be comfortable to stir the mass with your hands (20-30 degrees). Temperature does not affect the quality of liquid wallpaper, but it is still easier and more pleasant to stir the material in warm water.

You can mix liquid wallpaper in one package, or several packages at once, but keep in mind that with an increase in the number of prepared wallpapers, the process of kneading them becomes more complicated. Mixing several packages of liquid wallpaper at the same time is recommended when you use packages from different batches (so that there is no difference in shades).

Instructions on how to prepare liquid wallpaper at home:

  1. Pour the contents of the package into a mixing container.
  2. It is necessary to draw 5 liters of water into the dishes, which has a comfortable temperature.
  3. Pour dry material with water.
  4. Thoroughly mix the material with water until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. The mixture is prepared exclusively by hand, for these purposes it is not advisable to use mixers, mechanical mixers.
  5. To achieve a convenient consistency of the mixture, you need to add water in small portions of 100 milliliters for this.

Liquid wallpaper is then ready for application. There should be a consistency of a mixture of liquid wallpaper, like thick cream: too liquid mixture flows from the ceiling to the floor, and too thick is hard to apply. The optimal consistency of liquid wallpaper on the ceiling for work is usually achieved with a volume of water of about 5.5-6 liters per package of material.

Applying liquid wallpaper

It is advisable to manually apply this material to the ceiling using a spatula, which is made of plexiglass or stainless steel and has a smooth surface. The movements of the spatula should be natural for the hands and comfortable. We recommend that the level of wallpaper application corresponds to the level of your gaze (it is better not to stand on your toes on a table or stepladder, but to stand comfortably on a ladder or chair, do not lean). Hold the spatula at a slight angle to the plane so that the mixture of wallpaper is forced out from under the spatula in the direction of travel.

The applied coating should immediately be loose and not compressed. Liquid wallpaper is neither putty nor plaster, so you do not need to press on the spatula, otherwise the mass of liquid wallpaper will be compressed, and therefore the coating will not receive a relief surface, and, of course, material consumption will increase.

You can compare the process of applying liquid wallpaper to the ceiling with spreading fish caviar on a piece of bread: if you press hard on the knife, the caviar will flatten out, if you don’t press the knife at all, the caviar layer will turn out thick, so its consumption increases greatly.

One package of liquid wallpaper is enough to cover a flat surface of 4 square meters with a thickness of this coating of 1-2 millimeters. If there are corners and irregularities on the surface, then, of course, the consumption of wallpaper will increase slightly. If you still received an overrun of the material, then carefully read and analyze the application instructions and find out where the mistake was made.

After you have applied the wallpaper to a certain area, look again at the resulting coating, check that it does not have bumps, tears, sagging and is not translucent. All features of the coating, thanks to the texture of the material, are quite clearly visible even at the application stage, which means that if necessary, defects can be easily corrected.

In order to avoid the formation of visible seams and joints on the ceiling, it is necessary to apply the entire material on the plane, without stopping on part of the work done from corner to corner. Under natural conditions, the coating is dried at ambient temperature. Depending on the level of humidity and air temperature, the coating will be ready for use in 24-48 hours (it is recommended to open windows for free air access).

Using acrylic varnish

Liquid wallpaper has one of the features - low moisture resistance. Therefore, acrylic varnish must be applied to the previously indicated finishing materials. It is specially designed to increase the moisture resistance of this type of coating, and can also be selected for application to ordinary paper wallpapers.

Acrylic lacquer is a composition based on an acrylic binder that does not contain organic solvents and is environmentally friendly. It is important that after drying, acrylic lacquer strengthens the finishing materials, while forming vapor-permeable, hard, waterproof coatings that can withstand mechanical cleaning and stress, as well as cleaning with detergents and flooding from above.

You can use acrylic varnish in several stages, as shown in the video about liquid wallpaper on the ceiling. The first stage is the addition of a certain amount of varnish to the mixture of mixed liquid wallpaper. This method of applying acrylic varnish gives the coating resistance to mechanical damage and strengthens it.

The second stage is the application of a thin layer of acrylic varnish on the dried surface of liquid wallpaper. Remember that this stage is not mandatory and is mainly recommended when working with surfaces that often get wet. The consumption of acrylic varnish is as follows: with one-stage application - 1 liter per 20 square meters of the ceiling and two-stage application - 1 liter per 4 square meters of surface.

Liquid wallpaper repair

If it is necessary to partially remove a certain area of liquid wallpaper, for example, when repairing electrical wiring or damaging the surface, it is necessary to use a spray bottle (a humidifier for ironing clothes is suitable for this purpose) to moisten the ceiling area that needs repair with clean tap water. Next, use a spatula or similar wide flat tool to remove the soaked liquid wallpaper from the ceiling and collect them in a clean plastic or glass container.

After you have carried out the necessary repairs (potholes and seams should be puttied and the strobes should be plastered), it is necessary to prime the ceiling section with two layers of PF enamel or primer, with intermediate (at least 6 hours) drying of the layers. Further, with the help of a spray gun, after the primer dries, it is necessary to soak the edges of the coating that are adjacent to the repaired area.

Previously removed liquid wallpaper from the repair area must be diluted with clean water to obtain a dough-like mass and applied to the ceiling with a spatula, while trying to rub the adjacent edges of the coating with the newly applied ones. The place of repair again after complete drying becomes homogeneous, monophonic and absolutely imperceptible.

One of the most modern and practical finishing materials is liquid wallpaper.

They have a lot of advantages, and applying liquid wallpaper with your own hands is very simple: even a beginner can handle it.

This type of coating combines the properties of decorative plaster, spectacular expensive wallpaper and paintwork, and also allows you to create any pattern and pattern on the wall.

After reading the article, you will learn how to apply liquid wallpaper, what composition of liquid wallpaper will be the most optimal, as well as what tools you will need to apply liquid wallpaper (for example, a spatula).

Advantages and disadvantages

This unusual material appeared on the construction market relatively recently, but now it is increasingly being chosen for wall and ceiling decoration. To work with it, you need a spatula.

It is convenient to work with such a composition, and the question of how to glue liquid wallpaper does not cause any difficulties, it is only necessary to study the application instructions in detail.

What advantages do they have:

  • Environmental friendliness. The finishing material of the new generation consists of natural cotton, silk and cellulose fibers, does not accumulate dust and does not emit any toxins. It is safe for babies and allergy sufferers, ideal for children's room and kitchen;
  • Ease of installation. Applying liquid wallpaper to the ceiling or walls does not require perfect preparation and a perfectly leveled surface. Preliminary puttying is needed only in cases where there are noticeable pits and bumps on the wall - small cracks and irregularities will perfectly close the decorative coating;
  • Aesthetics. Liquid wallpaper coating is an opportunity to completely transform the house and make the interior unique. It allows you to experiment with color and patterns, create unusual drawings and compositions on walls and ceilings;
  • Heat and sound insulation. Protect from noise and provide protection from the cold.

In addition, liquid wallpaper is perfectly repairable - if you scratch or put a stain on a piece of wall, you can carefully replace the damaged piece with new wallpaper.

When the coating dries, you will not see the joints.

Finishing with liquid wallpaper has only two drawbacks: a rather high price and a long drying time - up to 5 days.

Varieties of material

The composition of liquid wallpaper is the most natural: special glue, cellulose fibers, cotton, silk, fragments of oak bark and decorative elements - sparkles, mother-of-pearl, marble chips, mica, etc.

There are several varieties of this coating - in composition and degree of readiness.

Depending on the composition, the following types are divided:

  • cellulose (from recycled wood);
  • cotton;
  • silk;
  • cellulose-silk.

The most economical and budget option is to finish the room with cellulose liquid wallpaper.

Such a coating ideally tolerates temperature changes and high humidity, hides minor surface imperfections.

However, his choice of pattern and colors is small, in addition, cellulose tends to fade in direct sunlight.

Cotton coating is the most environmentally friendly and pleasant to the touch, and silk wallpapers have excellent decorative properties, but are significantly more expensive than other varieties.

The best choice is a cellulose-silk mixture.

It combines an affordable price tag, retains color well and easily fits on any walls.

When ready for use, the mixture is isolated in a liquid state and a dry powder (packed in bags from 1 to 3 kg).

Such a powder can be completely ready for use (you only need to dilute it with water), or it can be a white base.

Professionals usually work with such a composition - pigments and decorative particles are added to the mixture in order to achieve a unique color and pattern.

Preparatory work

Cellulose or cotton wallpaper does not require absolutely even and smooth walls, but before applying liquid wallpaper, you still need to prepare the surface.

Before finishing work it is necessary:

  • completely remove the old coating;
  • putty obvious defects (protruding caps of self-tapping screws, deep cracks, potholes);
  • prime the surface (two layers);
  • ensure an even wall color.

One of the most important stages of work before gluing liquid wallpaper is a primer.

The primer liquid binds the surface of the wall, reduces water resistance, significantly reduces the consumption of wallpaper mixture and prevents it from crumbling.

An even shade of the wall is necessary so that after finishing the surface does not shine through a light decorative coating.

If the surface color is not uniform, then a thick white primer or water-based paint can be used.

Special tools are also needed for repairs: a container for diluting wallpaper mixture, a spatula (or plastic grater) or spray gun, a relief roller for creating a pattern on the walls.

Work technology

The first stage of working with liquid wallpaper is the manufacture of a decorative composition.

If you have purchased a ready-made diluted mixture, then you can start work immediately: you only need to dilute the composition strictly in accordance with the instructions.

The method of preparation is very simple: pour wallpaper powder into a container, pour water at a temperature of 25 degrees, stir.

Please note: it is impossible to stir the mixture with a construction mixer or use a spatula for this purpose, so as not to damage the long fibers.

It is necessary to prepare the mixture with bare hands - all components are absolutely hypoallergenic.

In addition, the mixture should be infused for some time: you need to prepare the composition 6-12 hours before gluing liquid wallpaper.

And how to apply liquid wallpaper on the walls?

To do this, you can use the manual method and mechanical.

The technology for applying liquid wallpaper in such cases will vary somewhat.

For the manual method, tools such as a spatula, texture roller or grater are used.

You can apply the composition to the walls from anywhere: from the wall, corner or window.

By changing the angle of the spatula or float, you can vary the thickness of the coating.

The mechanical method is the use of a special spray gun.

With this method, a thin layer of wallpaper mixture is first applied, then a final layer of the required thickness.

Today, the method for applying liquid wallpaper to the ceiling is especially popular. This allows you to smooth out all the bumps and cracks, get an unusual color and relief, instead of the usual white surface.

The technique of finishing cellulose, silk or cotton ceiling wallpaper is the same as when working with walls.

Drawing a pattern and drawings

The technology of applying liquid wallpaper provides ample opportunities for creating all kinds of patterns and drawing a picture.

To get an unusual pattern, use the classic method - a relief roller for decorative plaster.

4-5 hours after the final wallpaper layer, you just need to walk along the wall with a texture roller to get an original ornament.

Making a drawing requires more painstaking work.

First, we make a stencil out of cardboard and transfer it to the surface with a pencil.

Then - we apply a thin layer of wallpaper mixture on the picture using a small spatula: the coating should protrude beyond the boundaries of the picture by a maximum of 1-2 mm.

Then carefully move the wallpaper inward so that it does not go beyond the frame of the image.

When the picture dries, we make an adjacent layer, receding from the border of the previous picture also by 1-2 cm.

Then move it closer to the image to get a natural outline.

After the drawing is completely finished, you need to wait for it to dry, seal it with masking tape and apply the main wallpaper layer.

When the finish is completed, you need to allow the surface to dry completely - this usually takes 2 to 5 days.

Liquid wallpaper is a durable and practical material, but in order for the decorative surface to retain its original appearance for as long as possible, it is important to take care of such wallpaper.

When this finish is applied to the kitchen, a protective layer of clear varnish is needed - this will protect the coating from dirt and grease drops.

If a speck of rust, a scratch appears on the wallpaper, then you need to cut out the damaged area and paint it over with paint (if there was rust).

Restoration goes like this: you need to take a piece of the mixture remaining after the repair, dilute it with water and close the damaged area.

Then you need to take a spatula or grater and smooth the composition.

Liquid wallpaper appeared not so long ago, but has already managed to gain popularity and become one of the most fashionable trends. But, despite this, most people do not know, ?

In fact, liquid wallpaper is a kind of decorative plaster, consisting of the smallest flakes of natural cellulose fiber, glue and various decorative additives. Instead of rolls, liquid wallpaper is produced in bags with a dry mix. The only thing that connects them with wallpaper is their use as interior wall decoration. And they began to call them wallpaper because in the beginning they were made from pure cellulose.

Advantages of liquid wallpaper

Liquid wallpaper consists of natural environmentally friendly materials and is absolutely harmless, has antistatic properties and repels dust. Provide a good level of thermal insulation, sound insulation, practically do not fade. Liquid wallpaper does not ignite and does not emit toxic gases. The undoubted advantage will be the absence of seams and joints on the surface; there can be no such problem as diverging wallpaper joints. If the coating has been damaged during operation, partial repairs can be made. Fixing smaller defects is even easier. Pollution from the switches is erased with a simple eraser. A wide selection of colors and shades allows you to choose wallpaper in any interior of your apartment. The cost of liquid wallpaper is lower than that of other types of wallpaper. Another definite plus is the rough, soft and pleasant to the touch surface.

Preparation before application

The first thing with which the application of liquid wallpaper begins is preparatory work. From the wall or other surface you will need to remove: old wallpaper, whitewash, dust and dirt. According to the technology, the surface must become strong, dry and clean. If any metal surface appears under the applied layer of wallpaper, rust will appear in this place over time. If cracks and strong irregularities of the wall being prepared are found, be sure to repair them. If the surface strongly absorbs moisture, it is recommended to first cover it with a primer layer. However, it is not recommended to apply wallpaper immediately to a wet surface, as they will fall off. Only after the prepared wall has completely dried, you can proceed directly with the preparation of liquid wallpaper.

First, read the manufacturer's instructions. Pour the contents of all packages into the container. Next, fill the container with warm water (about 50 ° C) and mix the contents until smooth (you can use a mixer). Now, tightly close the mass and leave it to swell. The exact settling time of the mixture is indicated on the package. Stir the mixture again. As a result, the finished mixture should resemble minced meat - it is in this state that the mixture is applied.

The technology of applying liquid wallpaper

Liquid wallpaper is applied and smoothed with a special plastic spatula (grater), from corner to corner, preventing the edges from drying out. If you allowed drying, then the docking seam will probably be visible. In this case, moisten the edge, wait until it absorbs water and smooth it out with a plastic grater. In the process of work, it is necessary to ensure that the wallpaper lies evenly and has a uniform structure.

When applied liquid wallpaper do not allow circular movements and smooth one area for too long. Different types of liquid wallpaper fall on the wall in different ways, some with a thin layer of about 3 millimeters, others a little thicker - 5 mm, they look more voluminous and somewhat resemble fabric. When working with a spatula, the surface will turn out smooth and even. If desired, the surface can be given any texture using special textured rollers. Five to six hours after applying the base layer, the surface is rolled out with a structural roller. The roller during operation must be constantly moistened with water. In addition, the texture of liquid wallpaper can be given directly in the process of applying them to the wall. According to technology, a lump of the mixture should be applied to the wall and immediately rolled out with a roller. If the wallpaper did not work the first time, you can remove the wallpaper, wet it with water and apply it again on the wall by rolling it with a roller. And so several times, until the special glue is washed out. With the help of liquid wallpaper, you can create stucco ornaments, panels on walls and ceilings, if you prepare a mixture of thick consistency.

Up to eight square meters of surface can be covered in an hour of manual work.
You can speed up the process if you use a special spray gun, although it is only suitable for small wallpapers. If a gun is used, then all the necessary mixture is placed in a container and sprayed onto the walls under air pressure. In this case, it is necessary to maintain a constant pressure of the order of three to five atmospheres; for this, a compressor is accordingly required. All the necessary equipment can be purchased or rented from organizations selling liquid wallpaper. To use this tool, you do not need special skills and experience, but the speed of work will increase significantly. For example, an area of 100 square meters with a spray gun is covered within 4-6 hours.
If you find cracks, defects, or you damage the coating during work, you can eliminate the defects by wetting the liquid wallpaper with water. Since, after drying, the wallpaper still retains a slight plasticity.

sticking to application technologies, the durability of liquid wallpaper can reach 10 years. The time for complete drying of liquid wallpaper varies from one to two days, depending on the temperature and humidity in the room. Do not try to speed up the drying process with heat guns, as you risk cracking. Liquid wallpaper does not like quick drying, like any building mixtures. Additionally, the walls can be covered with latex or acrylic varnish, this will help protect the wallpaper from moisture. If there is a high level of humidity in the room, then you will need to cover the wallpaper with another layer of varnish.

Now you know the technology of applying liquid wallpaper, and you can easily give a clear answer to the question of what liquid wallpaper is. Good luck.
