Projects of corner baths from a bar. Corner baths: functional projects. Materials and techniques in the construction and decoration of a corner bath with a terrace

They built a house for me in 2018, according to my project, by professionals in their field. The project itself is somewhat more expensive than its competitors, but in our village they built 1 more house and the owners were satisfied.

They ordered the construction of a bathhouse, they did it in the shortest possible time, without any complaints about the work of the team.

The full cycle from the production of material to the assembly of the house is perfectly organized. Quality, professionalism at the highest level. Recommend.

It is very important to find your manager, who will advise not only at the conclusion of the contract, but also during construction. We talked with Igor, as a result, the bath is ready on the site, we use it, everything is fine. Thank you.

Great home, great service! Everyone was helpful and helpful with the selection. You can see everything live - we went to a facility under construction similar to ours, where they saw how they work, only after that they decided to build. Thank you for the patience of managers and builders that answered all the questions!

In 2018, we ordered a bathhouse. We are very satisfied with the work of the employees of this company. Starting with the estimate and ending with a team of builders. We were lucky for the action, we received a sauna stove as a gift!

Thanks for the sauna house. On the site one price is indicated, but in fact it turns out more. But it’s understandable that the price is indicated for the very minimum, like everyone else on the Internet, if you want to comfortably pay extra for extras. In general, "thank you" to the builders.

If you choose an L-shaped bath layout, then the structure will consist of two wings set at right angles to each other (Fig. 4).

This configuration will save on a small area and allow you to connect at the same time under one roof veranda, and next to place barbecue grill.

The wings of the building will make it possible to separate the washing area and the recreation area, which will allow guests to relax comfortably, preventing them from crossing through a separate entrance, for example.

It is worth noting that the corner layout will make it possible to create an attic on the second floor, providing the family with an additional full-fledged rest room or study.

However, one of the main characteristics of the bath room is its ability to store heat for a long time. And in this regard, the corner bath is much more efficient, because it will allow you to make a square-shaped steam room, and this is most optimal for uniform heating of all rooms, because the stove can be located in the central part (Fig. 2), which will give a uniform distribution of heat throughout all rooms.

This is fundamentally different from the linear layout of the bath, where the rooms located near the stove receive heat, while the rest experience a lack of it.

The L-shaped layout of the bath easily allows you to create three main zones: shower room, steam room and rest room. It would be logical to group several objects under one roof, so you can reduce construction costs, because the wall of the bath will be the wall of the terrace at the same time. The terrace can be covered with a light material, such as cellular polycarbonate (Fig. 1), and get a place to relax in your backyard, concentrated in one place (Fig. 3).

As a building material for a bath, wood of such species as pine, fir, cedar, spruce, oak is usually used. The most optimal constructive solution is a bath made of profiled timber. But the variant of frame technology with filling the wall module with SIP panels (structurally insulated panels) is quite suitable. For their production, OSB panels (oriented strand boards) are used, between which a heater is pressed - polystyrene foam.

As practice shows, this method of filling the wall module of the frame structure is effective for regions with a cold climate, and also allows you to get a finished structure with minimal time.

For the foundation, it will be enough to have a columnar, pile and tape base, which will also save financially. But at the same time, one cannot save on the insulation of such a structure, which includes complex measures, namely, the floor, ceiling and roof, as well as the walls of this structure, are insulated.

The installation of the stove, which is located in the wall between the steam room and the rest room, will require special attention to itself; it must be installed in compliance with all fire safety standards. The chimney should be double-circuit, of the "sandwich" type, and preferably stainless steel.

Another important advantage of the L-shaped layout is that the entrance-bath room and the terrace-veranda will be closed to view from both sides. This will allow guests to comfortably accommodate without falling under the eyes of neighbors and at the same time without disturbing them (Fig. 2).

It is worth noting that the corner bath should be located with its “back” to the leeward side, so that snow does not fall into its patio in winter.

One example of just such a corner bath is a bath with a glazed veranda (Fig. 3), as well as an open area for recreation, which allows it to be successfully operated in different seasons of the year. The layout of the bath is quite spacious, and therefore there is a steam room, a shower room with a dressing room, and a rest room.

A small vestibule will allow you to keep warm and will not let the room cool down, even if the doors are opened.

In the relaxation room, you can comfortably relax after the steam room and arrange gatherings with friends, at the same time, if necessary, it can be used as a guest bedroom for a couple of people.

Ideas for a do-it-yourself bath

Shelves

I drew a sketch (see fig. 1 on page 18). Based on it, he made three shelves in the form of hexagons. Two sizes 350x350x225 mm (height, width, depth) and one size 700x700x225 mm.

To do this, I cut the required number of rails with a section of 40 × 25 mm into the desired size. The ends of each blank were cut on a miter box at an angle of 45 degrees.

From the rails on the carpentry PVA, I glued separately the required number of hexagon segments.

When the glue hardened, connected the parts to the dowels. Finished shelves hung on the wall (photo 1)

Fake fireplace with backlight

I started work in a similar way - with the preparation of a sketch (Fig. 2)

From a bar with a section of 50 × 50 mm, I assembled a frame measuring 1200 × 1000 mm (height, width).

Since the room is finished with wood, I decided to decorate the false fireplace in this style. The grinder sawed several dried logs of different diameters into dies 1.5-2 cm thick.

He decorated the facade, the lower and upper parts of the fireplace with saw cuts. The details were fixed on the base on the carpentry PVA.

I bought a few decorative items in the bath accessories store (you can use everything that is at hand) and decorated the finished fake fireplace with them. Additionally, I installed LED lighting (photo 2) In the future, I plan to arrange a zone for gatherings after the steam room, but that's another story!

A feature of the corner baths is their unusual shape. In the classic corner version, the main part of the room (steam room and washing room) is built perpendicularly, at an angle of 90⁰ to additional rooms for leisure activities.

Why build a corner bath, and what advantages does it have over a rectangular structure?

  1. The stove in such buildings is located in the middle between the steam room and the rest room, so that it is able to heat the entire room, which is especially important in winter.
  2. Corner baths are designed specifically for installation in small areas or in courtyards where additional buildings, flower beds, garden furniture and other decorative elements are already present. The building is necessarily located in one of the corners of the site, and therefore does not take up much space and does not violate the overall composition.
  3. The building, which in its shape resembles a corner or a triangle, is a rather unusual and interesting architectural solution.

In addition to all its additional advantages, compact corner baths, made by experienced specialists, will perfectly cope with their main goal - to help a person or a group of people have a good time.

The steam room fell in love with the Russian people for a very long time. To this day, going to the bath is accepted by large companies and entire families, because this is not only a pleasant pastime, but also a process that brings undeniable benefits to the body. Almost every owner of a suburban area would like to build a bathhouse on his territory. Corner baths are considered very comfortable and outwardly attractive buildings, which are gaining more and more popularity today.

Advantages and disadvantages of designs

Such buildings have a whole set of positive characteristics, thanks to which they are so popular among consumers.

  1. It is good to place corner structures on small plots of land or where there are already buildings and plantings that cannot be moved to another place, for example, a utility block, a flower bed, garden furniture complexes, etc. Placed in one of the corners of the site, such a building will not take a lot of space and will not violate the overall compositional design.
  2. Sauna, consisting of two "wings" located relative to each other at right angles, allows you to build an additional area for recreation in the form of a veranda or terrace on the land vacated between them.
  3. If each part of the corner building is provided with a separate entrance, that is, a door to the steam room and an entrance to the rest room, then it will be possible to use these rooms separately.
  4. Convenient placement of the stove in the middle, that is, between the rest rooms and the steam room, makes it possible to heat these two rooms at once, which is a means of saving money.

There are very few drawbacks to triangular steam rooms. The main disadvantage that can be encountered during the construction of the "corner" is the special architectural and planning characteristics of the site itself. However, if a professional is working on the project, then in such cases the issue is resolved.

Buildings in the form of a corner are very economical in terms of the consumption of building materials and are convenient for use.

Where to start designing

It is worth especially carefully approaching the issue of choosing a place for the construction of a bath and its orientation. It is better to build a triangular pair building in the far corner of the site so that the entrance is not visible either from the street or from neighboring sites. The distance from the residential building to the steam room should be at least 10 meters, and to the fence - from 5 meters on all sides of the building. This is done so that there is an unhindered approach to it around the entire perimeter in case of a fire. For the same purpose, the building is placed on the leeward side.

According to the definition of normative acts, a bathhouse is defined as an economic building. Accordingly, it is not required to obtain a permit for its construction. But despite this, it is still worth developing a competent detailed project. Firstly, this will help to find out what building materials are needed for the work, and, secondly, an approximate estimate will appear with an estimate of the planned cash investments. Project documentation can be obtained in several ways: order from professionals; develop independently using special computer programs or draw by hand; use ready-made developments found on the Internet.

Design options for corner saunas

At the initial stage, a technical task is drawn up, which determines the area of \u200b\u200beach room. The waiting room is the first room into which a person enters the bath. Here, as a rule, firewood is stored, a place is equipped for changing and hanging clothes and shoes. Often, the dressing room is combined with a rest room, if there is not enough separate space for the latter. A double-glazed window is placed here at a level of 1 meter from the floor plane. The doorway is standard: 1.8 m by 0.8 m, opening to the street.

The most important room is the steam room. The area of the steam room is calculated on the basis of 1 m² per visitor. Be sure to take into account the size of the oven. The best option for a steam room is a metal wood-burning stove, which is placed at a distance of 100 cm from wall surfaces and is surrounded by a small brick partition so that visitors do not get burned. The heater itself should be in the steam room, and the firebox in the rest room.

Window openings in the steam room, as a rule, are not made. More often they are replaced by a ventilation duct. If the window is still planned, then its size is 30 by 30 cm with double glazing, the location is the wall opposite from the stove. It is better to orient the opening to the west side so that most of the day the room has natural light. Interior decoration also depends on the area. If the dimensions allow, then it is advisable to place comfortable benches here, on which you can lie down and relax during the process. Otherwise, only seating is provided. The steam room door must be located with a high threshold to minimize heat loss. Dimensions 1.5 m by 0.8 m, outward opening.

Washing. The equipment of this room depends on the area. You can place in the washing room just a shower or a whole pool. The minimum size of the room is 1.8 m by 1.8 m. The window here is designed at a height of 1.5 m so that it does not see through.

Bathroom. To accommodate one toilet, you will need a room with dimensions of 1.2 m by 0.8 m. The lounge is the largest and most comfortable area. Here they relax after a steam room and chat over a cup of herbal tea. A mandatory attribute of the guest space is a table with benches made of wood.

The optimal project of a corner bath includes a waiting room, a steam room, a guest room, a bathroom and a washing room.

What is better to build a small steam room

The next design stage is the choice of material for the construction of a corner sauna. The most demanded raw materials will be various kinds of lumber, bricks and aerated concrete blocks. The first (in different forms) are attractive because wood is absolutely safe for the human body. In addition, the final cost of a wooden bath is much lower than a brick counterpart.

To build a sauna today, you can use the following types of wood materials.

  1. Round log. Among the advantages: deep impregnation with protective compounds. The shape of each element is close to ideal, the size is the same.
  2. Scraped raw materials. The log is manually cleaned of the bast (top layer), all irregularities and flaws are removed. With high-quality processing, the service life is 100 years.
  3. Planed log elements. The top layer is removed with an electric planer. Retains heat very well.
  4. A separate category includes products from glued beams. This material is high-tech, thanks to which, at no additional cost, it allows you to create functional structures with unique architectural forms.

Brick saunas are durable and do not need any pretreatment. The brick is environmentally friendly, fireproof and outwardly attractive. In addition, it has high thermal insulation characteristics. From it it is possible to construct buildings of any shape and architecture. But do not forget that the brick raw material absorbs moisture strongly, so the bath will require good ventilation and vapor barrier. In addition, it is the most expensive raw material.

Having chosen the material suitable for construction, you should think about the design of the foundation. Its type is determined just by the raw material. Usually masters use the following options.

Foundation types

A relatively new material for the construction of steam rooms is gas silicate block elements, which are valued for their low weight and ease of processing.

The process of building a corner bath from lumber

Having drawn up project documentation, you can safely proceed to construction work. It is very important before starting to decide on the place where the building will stand. When choosing, many factors should be taken into account: the type of soil, relief, the presence of sewer, drainage systems and open natural reservoirs. Having decided on the place, you should proceed to the acquisition of high-quality raw materials.

The beam for erecting a corner steam room on the site is chosen by the consumer quite often, because this raw material is available, environmentally friendly, and the construction process itself does not require any special skills, as a result of which you can build a bath with your own hands. The acquired timber must be with a flat and smooth surface, treated with special antifungal and fire-fighting compounds. If the material is of poor quality, then this will affect not only the laying of the crowns, but also the service life.

To determine the quality of a wooden beam, you need to pay attention to the following points:

  • end sections and the entire surface should not have signs of rot, one of which is a pronounced bluish tint;
  • wood is selected without cracks and pits, because the slightest defect can split the timber during use;
  • raw materials should not be infested with pests.

As for the type of wood for the bath building, it is better to choose larch for the lower rims, which has high insulating qualities. The rest is laid out from various conifers.

Construction stages

It all starts with building a foundation. For a bath from a profiled beam, two types of it are suitable. Which one to choose will depend on the type of soil. Clay soil is characterized by a deep occurrence of groundwater, so it is advisable to make a columnar foundation here. To do this, over the entire area of \u200b\u200bthe future building, namely in the bearing walls and in the corners, columns are dug in at a distance of about 0.5 m from each other. The base of the pillars is poured with concrete, forming a special cushion.

For a tape type foundation, a pre-prepared trench is poured with concrete. The main thing: keep in mind that the base should rise 50 cm above ground level. Complete drying of the concrete pour occurs in 2-3 weeks, after which you can begin to build a building.

To ensure a long service life of the bath, the fundamental foundation must be well insulated. To do this, a layer of molten bitumen is poured onto it and covered with layers of roofing material. Do this operation twice, after which everything cools down and dries.

Laying the first crown. The lowest layer of the building consists of small slats impregnated with an antiseptic composition that protects against fungal pests and mold. A heater is laid between the rails. At this stage, it is important to monitor horizontality. The next layer is a thick beam, which will bear the entire weight of the building. To do this, choose raw materials measuring 20 by 20, then 15 by 15. The lower beams are not attached to the foundation, because due to the total weight of the structure, it will be well fixed on the base.

Laying flooring and erecting wall surfaces. The floor should be mounted at a slope in one direction by 2-4 degrees. This will ensure that water flows in one direction in the future. Logs are placed that act as a place for attaching the floor surface. Wall partitions are erected from beams, which are aligned and fastened together with pins or dowels. A heater in the form of moss or tow is laid between the bars.

Location of windows and doors. When erecting wall partitions, it is necessary to leave notes in advance in places where windows and doors will be located in the future. It is according to these marks that the bars of the appropriate sizes are cut.

Roof erection. Before you complete the construction and begin to cover the roof, you should give the entire complex time to shrink. On average, this will take about six months. For this period, it should be covered with a layer of timber, on top of which a sheet of roofing material or slate is laid.

After the expiration of the shrinkage period, the construction of a gable roof begins. A truss system is assembled from bars with a section of 12 by 5, on which transverse boards are attached. Sheets of slate are laid on them.

For laying a sewer drain, a pipe is used, which runs from the drain to the septic tank. The pipe is dug into the ground at a slope to ensure a natural outflow of water.

Construction of a corner bath from bricks or blocks

The construction of this, and any other brick sauna, also begins with the arrangement of the foundation. Since such a structure is quite heavy, a tape type of foundation is chosen. A trench is dug for it, the bottom is covered with a sand cushion 150 mm thick. Then the formwork is built and reinforcement is carried out with steel bars. All of this is filled with concrete. In this state, the trench dries out for about a month to gain strength.

Before laying out walls made of bricks or foam blocks, the base is waterproofed with roofing material. Masonry is carried out on a solution of cement and sand. After each laid out layer, the surface is checked for horizontality by a building level. Above the openings of windows and doors, a concrete beam jumper should be placed. When the wall partitions are laid out, the floor beams are laid and the truss system for the future roof is erected.

L-shaped bath project

Arrangement and design of the steam room

The main element in the steam room is the stove. It is better to give preference to a traditional rectangular heater, which, if desired, can be decorated with various stone or glass inserts. It is very important that it is comfortable to spend time in the steam room, and multi-tiered corner shelves and better rounded shapes can ensure this. So that you can easily use a broom, the height of the ceilings from the top shelf is 1.5 m, the distance between the benches themselves is about 1 m.

Based on Russian traditions and the purpose of the bath, high-quality wood is chosen for its decoration. There are certain requirements for the design of a corner (as well as another) steam room, which should not be neglected. Firstly, lining in soft wood shades is used for cladding inside the building. The interior is very warm and relaxing. In addition, the naturalness of this material brings it to a leading position, bypassing plastic counterparts.

Secondly, the interior decoration should not contain sharp corners. Due to the possible slipperiness and humidity, it is necessary to minimize the risk of injury when using the room. Thirdly, the steam room must be filled with all the necessary attributes for a good rest. It can be various aromatic compositions, washcloths, hats with gloves, brooms and more. The choice of wood for interior design is obvious, because it is an environmentally friendly raw material with low thermal conductivity, which makes it very comfortable to be in a steam room at high temperatures and high humidity.

Inside the sauna, lighting fixtures with soft subdued light are selected. It is better to choose models with fog lamps made in pastel colors. You can place devices both on the walls and on the ceiling - it all depends on personal preferences. A special aesthetics will be given to the internal design of the bath doors. Today you can use traditional deaf products, modern glass models that give the room a pleasant appearance.

As for the exterior design of the corner sauna, the main condition for choosing the right concept is a harmonious combination with the overall landscape.

As a rule, wooden structures are not customary to be sheathed with anything. The design of the corner bath consists in impregnating the elements with special protective compounds that can emphasize the texture of wood, shading it. If the building is built of brick or block elements, then it is possible to use decorative cladding with siding, block house, clapboard and other materials that imitate wood or stone texture.

Types of extensions to the corner sauna

Any bath complex has a separate guest room inside. However, when the weather is nice, you want to spend time outdoors. For such a pastime, extensions of various types are used.

The terrace is attached to the sauna and is located at a height of 50 cm above the ground cover. Corner baths with a terrace look attractive, and an additional platform allows you to accommodate people outdoors. Thanks to the common roof, the combined structures look very harmonious. Also on the open terrace quite often equip a place for a barbecue. For this, special equipment is installed on which wonderful dishes are prepared. If desired, and if there is free space, it is possible to equip a separate attached gazebo, on which a barbecue oven will also be laid out.

Another great solution for arranging relaxation outside the walls of the sauna are corner baths with a closed veranda. Thanks to the glazing, it can be used even in bad weather, which maximizes the functionality of the entire complex. When designing a corner steam room with a veranda or terrace, some rules should be followed.

  1. For construction, one raw material is used.
  2. The connection of the extension with the main structure is not made rigid.
  3. The distance between them remains 10–15 mm, it is filled with elastic matter, and decorated with platbands.

A full-fledged recreation complex can be considered a bathhouse with an attic. Thanks to this equipped attic space, it is possible to expand the useful area of \u200b\u200bthe building, creating a separate room for a pleasant stay there. An excellent addition to the corner bath complex will be a swimming pool. However, one should think about its presence at the design stage, because this design requires certain manipulations on the equipment of the sewer system.

Own corner bath building is available today to every owner of a land allotment. The choice of projects and layouts makes it possible to build a full-fledged steam room even in the smallest areas, and the simplicity of the construction process allows you to independently translate all ideas into reality.
