Wunts Navy Naval Academy. Naval Academy: admission and programs. Military Educational and Scientific Center of the Navy "Naval Academy named after Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union N.G. Kuznetsov"

On October 1, 1715, by decree of Peter I, the Naval Academy was established in St. Petersburg on the basis of the senior classes of the Navigation School. In 1752, after the separation of the academy into an independent educational institution, the former Navigation School was transformed into the Naval Cadet Corps. In 1918, courses for officers were opened in the building of the former Naval Corps, which were reorganized in 1919 into the School for Commanders.

For a long time the School was the only one in our country, becoming the ancestor of all other naval educational institutions. From 1926 to 1998 the school was named after M.V. Frunze - a prominent commander and military leader. November 1, 1998 on the basis of the Higher Naval School named after M.V. Frunze and the Higher Naval Diving School named after Lenin Komsomol, the St. Petersburg Naval Institute was created, which in 2001 received the honorary name "Naval Corps of Peter the Great".

Military Educational and Scientific Center of the Navy "Naval Academy named after Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union N. G. Kuznetsov".

Story

On January 29, 1827, an officer class was established at the Naval Cadet Corps to "improve a number of the most excellent of the newly produced officers in the higher parts of the sciences, required for naval service." The course was first two-, then three-year. The composition of the teachers was brilliant (V. Ya. Bunyakovsky, M. V. Ostrogradsky, E. Kh. Lenz).

Since 1841, in addition to naval officers, the best pupils from those who completed the course in the navigation crew, as well as naval artillery officers and ship engineers, were allowed to listen to lectures. In 1862, the officer class was transformed into an "academic course in marine sciences" with a two-year course and three departments: hydrographic, shipbuilding and mechanical. For entry, preliminary service in the officer rank was required for at least two years; vacancies were distributed between naval officers and officers of the corps of the maritime department.

On January 28, 1877, the academic course was renamed the Nikolaev Naval Academy. According to the new regulations on the academy, approved on May 23, 1896, it consists of three departments - hydrographic, shipbuilding and mechanical - and a course in naval sciences. The duration of study in the departments is 2 years, and on the course - 1 year.

Admission to the academy. To listen to lectures at the academy (according to the competitive entrance exam) were allowed:

a) for the hydrographic department - naval and navigational chief officers, if they have made at least two three-month campaigns;

b) for shipbuilding and mechanical - ship engineers and fleet mechanical engineers who have served for at least two years and have spent at least 12 months. in practical classes according to specialty;

c) for the course of naval sciences - fleet staff officers and lieutenants who have been in this rank for at least six years and who have mainly completed the course at one of the academies or at schools of artillery or mines.

The number of full-time students is 37, of which 15 are in the course of naval sciences, 6 in the hydrographic department and 8 in each of the other two departments.

Programs. The students of the departments were taught jointly algebraic analysis, differential and integral calculus, analytical and practical mechanics and private physics. Special subjects: at the hydrographic department - astronomy and geodesy, hydrography and meteorology, theory of shipbuilding, optics and beacon lighting system; in shipbuilding - theory and practice of shipbuilding, descriptive geometry and inorganic chemistry; on the mechanical - steamboat mechanics, descriptive geometry and inorganic chemistry. The course in naval sciences reads maritime strategy and tactics, naval statistics and geography, naval history and maritime international law.

Those who completed the course in departments in the 1st category receive an annual salary, and naval chief officers who receive an average output of at least 11 points receive, in addition, two years of seniority in rank. Officers who have completed the course are required to serve in the naval department for 1 1/2 years for each year of stay at the academy. The management of the academy is entrusted to its chief (he is also the director of the naval cadet corps). To discuss issues related to the training at the academy, a conference of teachers, lecturers and specially appointed persons of the maritime department is organized. Officers of the Naval Department were also given the right to enter all military academies, and officers of naval artillery and mechanical engineers, in addition, to the Mining Institute.

Faculty of weapons.

The history of the faculty of armaments is connected with the creation in 1827 of an officer class at the Naval Corps, which marked the beginning of the academic training of artillery officers, fleet specialists in the creation of new types and models of weapons. In 1920, a department of weapons was organized at the academy, which in 1923 was transformed into a faculty of naval weapons with artillery and mine departments. New samples and types of weapons dictated the need to create new departments at the faculty. So, in the 30s of the 20th century, the departments of "Torpedo weapons", "Mine weapons", "Torpedo firing" were created, and in the 50s of "Naval missiles and launchers", "Firing and combat use of underwater jet weapons" , "Protection against weapons of mass destruction", "Atomic weapons of the Navy". In 1963, the Department of "Space Means" was created at the faculty.

Active participation in the pedagogical and scientific activities of the faculty was and is currently being taken by prominent weapons scientists, among them: L. G. Goncharov, S. A. Izenbek, V. A. Unikovskiy, B. I. Kudrevich, A. A. Sveshnikov, M. A. Shishkin, A. E. Brykin, B. G. Volodin, Yu. S. Yakovlev, P. A. Pavlov, S. S. Rivkin, A. V. Tomashevich, M. N. Kurnakov , G. M. Podobriy, Yu. A. Faculty of shipbuilding.

The Faculty traces its history back to 1862, from the moment of the creation of the Academic Course of Marine Sciences, in which shipbuilding and mechanical departments were opened.

From 1920 to 1927 shipbuilding and machine-building faculties were created at the academy, and from 1927 to 1959. - shipbuilding, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering faculties. In 1960, they were merged into the Department of Shipbuilding, which still exists today.

The composition of the faculty was constantly changing and included from 6 to 17 departments that trained and train highly qualified officers in the entire spectrum of specialties of shipbuilders, mechanical engineers and electrical engineers.

Over the past 50 years alone, the faculty has trained almost 3000 officers, of which 66 became admirals, 117 doctors of technical sciences, 626 candidates of technical sciences. Among the graduates are the Minister of Shipbuilding of the USSR, deputies of the Civil Code of the Navy, heads of the technical department of the Navy and fleets, flagship specialists of formations and formations of the Navy. At the turn of the century, 54 doctors of technical sciences and 99 candidates of technical sciences worked at the faculty, among them: honored workers of science and technology of the Russian Federation, professors V.
