Walkthrough The Surge: A Walk in the Park. Walkthrough The Surge - Administration Hall

After finishing the first boss, take the elevator to magnetic road CREO and go to Production Center B. After downloading, go up the stairs and go to the registration panel drone. By activating it Warren will get his own assistant drone. You can talk to him, but nothing useful will come of it, so go to the elevator. Enter the cabin and get down.

In the arrival zone, move to the right until you see an enemy drone. Following the prompts of the game, give the order to attack the enemy to your assistant. Now go ahead to operations center, everything except the medical station will be blocked. Relative to the operations center, go left through the door, behind it will be highlighted chain section, which can be reloaded. Deal with nearby enemies and restore power. An unknown person will again get in touch with Warren, this time the dialogue will be more constructive. The girl's name is Sally and she's locked in the administration hall. Main character learns about distress signals that come from this sector. Sally asks for help, since there is nothing special to do, we agree and leave the operations center.

Iditol to the place of an overload of a chain and you pass further. There will be enemies ahead - this is a local security Service, extremely harsh guys, so it's better to wait a little with them. On the right is another enemy, but already simpler, and on the left behind the boxes there are no enemies at all. Jumping down you will see human kneeling. Hobbs, which is the name of this unfortunate person, will ask you to restart his exoskeleton. Fulfill his request and, having listened to a bunch of gratitude, go further, not forgetting to pick up audio recording from the panel.

Jump down to the crazy workers and engage in battle with them. After dealing with the first opponents, go left and look for a locked Door, because of which pleas for help are heard. Overload the chain, open the door, and after breaking through the boxes, you will see Davey. After leaving the room where the second survivor was sitting, go up On the stairs and run to the right. So you will get back to the operations center, where rescued people are already waiting for you. Hobbs, in gratitude, will give you details, but the restless Davey will ask you to find implant, without which he allegedly will not last long.

At this stage, it would be good to do farm. Run a little along the memorized route. Cut off arms, legs and other parts of the body, collect parts and as much scrap as possible. Having upgraded all your equipment to another level, return to the place where you found Hobbs and after jumping down, go right behind the containers. Two more workers will be waiting for you. The one standing next took a position at laser gun, be careful with him, or he will shoot you on the way. The best way get close to him - tackle. Having dealt with this problem, move on. Get down On the stairs down, but not to the end, and lure the big guy with a club higher. After calming him, go down to the end and run up to the left On the stairs, there is another enemy at the laser installation. From the tower you will see a small technological bridge, along which the pipes go, run along it to the other side and deal with the worker. Now go forward to the exolift, climb up and, opening the door from the panel, you will get the first shortcut in this location.

After visiting the operations center, go back through the studied path, but first in front of the bridge turn left. Upstairs you will find more audio recording. Now go back to the bridge and cross it. There will be a staircase down in front of you, going down one flight along it, you will stumble upon Irina. The girl also survived, but unlike Davey and Hobbs, she is able to take care of herself. All she wants from Warren is a new pole, but you have nothing to offer her yet. Going down the stairs even lower, you will stumble upon a couple of representatives security services, and if you want to please Irina, then you can take away the necessary equipment from them. If you decide to get a pole, you will not receive anything in return. Defeating the "safeguards" is difficult, but possible. At this level, tactics work best - hit and run.

Then go up the stairs and run forward. Once in the corridor with two enemies, you will hear someone Benjamin speaking on the speakerphone. He's stuck in departure area', but it's impossible to get to it yet. Run along the corridor to the end, clear the room from enemies and go up on the exolift. You will find yourself in the technological mezzanine, along it you can run to the next elevator, which will take you to the room near the stairs where you met Irina. The bottom is swarming robot, the enemy is serious enough, and this spacious room - the best place for training fight with given by the species enemies. Take aim at back leg and start circling around him, as soon as the opportunity presents itself, attack. As a rule, the robot opens only during attacks.

After dealing with the enemy, go to the stairs leading up. First, lure the nearby cyborg to you, then deal with the second one near the laser installation. To the left of the room you just left, there will be another robot. After dealing with him, rise On the stairs and you will find yourself in a room whose walls are painted. Behind the containers on the left are four enemies in scarab gear at once. If you finish them correctly, then you should have enough blueprints for the entire set. After you finish with them, pay attention to standing near the wall machine with soda. Remember the coin collected from the melting machine? This is exactly the place where you can exchange coins for a set of armor. Now, of course, this cannot be done, but now you know where to return. The path further blocked closed door, so it's time to head back to the operations center.

Having finished all your business in it, leave the center, go down through the "slice" to the bridge, get over to the other side. After passing along the corridor, stop near the exit to the wide bridge. There are many enemies in the presence, so you won’t break through. First, lure the robot to you and deal with it, trying not to go far onto the bridge. To simplify the battle, you can try push it down, but it's very difficult. Having won the battle with the robot, lure the worker wandering from side to side. After him, two cyborgs will remain on the bridge behind laser installations. You should start from the left, as it is closer. Approach him in such a way as to take aim at him, and shoot with a drone. After you deal with the left, you can take on the right. But just do not run ahead of him, right in front of him hole into which you can successfully fail. Go around the side of the enemy and cut him down.

After moving to the other side of the bridge, you will find yourself in the department processing. Run left to the stairs and at the bottom you will see the second melting machine. Climb down, jump over the gap to the platform with the smelter, then to the next platform, and run to the elevator in front of you. Climbing upstairs, clear the room and activate all the panels. Now go down and deal with the smelter. It is best to do this from a swoop and, after making 2-3 hits, run back to a safe distance. After the smelter falls and gives out coin, run back to the elevator, but go not to it, but to the left. Near the door will swarm robot, you can just run around it. Having reached the stairs, climb up and, having dealt with two cyborgs, open another short path to the exolift, where you can get directly to the operations center.

After pumping the costume, go back to just open door and get down. Run forward through the doorway and go down even lower. After dealing with the enemies, cause an overload in chain, and the door near the panel is unlocked. After passing through it, you will find yourself at the site of "removal of toxic waste". Go forward along the corridor, deal with enemies, cut off arms and legs from enemies and you will have a new set - " Liquidator».

Near the panel listen audio recording and move on. In the next room - another worker and a robot. Lure the worker first, then deal with the robot. Go past the locked door and climb up On the stairs to the very top, destroy another robot, take it from the shelves implant and get out. Before you go down, go to the boxes that are to the left of the stairs and listen to the audio recording, now go down one flight and go up the stairs to the right. Deal with enemies and search the room. After listening to the audio recording near the corpse, go down the stairs. Walk a little forward to the faulty elevator and reload chain. Now there is another shortcut to the base.

Return to the elevator, but do not rush into it. Since you are nearby, it is worth trying to deal with representatives security services nearby. Or go to the elevator and go down. After exiting the elevator, go left. Run past the locked doors down, overload the chain and return. One of the doors will be open. You can open another short cut, leading to the beginning of the "toxic waste disposal" section. Returning back to the chain overload place and going to the left, you will enter the arena to the second boss.

Meet - LU-74"Fire beetle". The fight with the second boss requires a lot of mobility. First you need to beat him off a few legs. Dodge a blow with a limb, then strike it and immediately bounce. A few hits and the boss will fall on its side. Once this happens, hit closest leg until it falls off, and back off. Repeat the above steps until the boss loses three legs and explodes. After that, the second phase of the battle will begin.

The beetle will now activate its engines and start flying. The most vulnerable place is now module, located under the body of the robot, and you need to focus attacks on it. After dodging the attack of the robot, run up and hit in a jump to the module, then immediately retreat before the boss falls on you. And again run around, dodging the attacks of the "beetle", waiting for the moment to attack. To make your life easier, you can also break off the remaining paws.

Detailed walkthrough of The Good, the Bad add-on, and the Augmented for hardcore action The Surge: tips for completing nine episodes, using modifiers and more

In the main character will be in a new test area, where an unknown and mad scientist requires the passage of several episodes. Each episode has its own reward.

How to start The Surge: The Good, the Bad, and the Augmented

You need to launch New Game+. If there are no saves, then find those on the Internet, then start the game. Pass the first level to the location where you have to fight the boss. If you remember, here you need to go down to the basement and restore the power supply by rebooting the node. Having done this, return to the previous (nearest) room, where you could pick up an audio recording. To the right is a locked door. You must approach it and go to the left to find an exolift leading even lower. Along this path, you can get back to the first factory room, where you got after the room with a medical station and a workbench.

But in front of the steps leading up to the same room, there will be a door on the right. To the left of this door is a TESTING AREA sign.. You must open the door to get to the expansion level.

Note. If you go through the game from the very beginning, then you will probably be banned from visiting this territory. Most likely, the ability to run the DLC is activated only in the "New Game +" (or higher).

Basic information on episodes and modifiers

There are a total of 16 modifiers - four for each category, and they will not be available all at once. You will unlock modifiers mainly by completing episodes of the game. After completing all nine episodes and talking to Richbotter, you will unlock most of the modifiers. Another one is unlocked if you replay any episode (that is, complete ten episodes in total by killing bosses), the other is unlocked if you kill less than 10 opponents (select the first episode and on railway run along the rails and jump over them without killing anyone), the third one is if you "escape like a chicken". In the latter case, we are talking about the fact that after passing two levels of any episode, when you need to go forward through the door leading to the boss, you will instead jump to the right side.

You can activate up to four modifiers at the same time, and choose only one from each category. The more right the modifier is in the line, the more difficult the passage of the episode will be, but at the same time, the chance of getting a valuable reward increases. In addition to an increased drop rate for parts and components, there is an increased chance of getting v2 gear and Wild West gear. All this you can find inside the safe, which opens after the destruction of the boss.

The equipment "Wild West" includes the very "Golden glasses", which you get for completing the ninth episode, as well as four more items that you can see to the right of the modifiers: "Golden Ax", "Medi-electrochemical injection MAKS", ZPRAKH(Gold X-Series Portable Tearbreaker) and "Smile of the luchador"(on the head).

And below we will describe several features of the passage of each episode of the game. By the way, at each level there is a shortcut, but, firstly, you first need to find it, and secondly, it will be opened only after you have completed the current episode at least once!

On average, each level (and there are two of them in an episode) can be divided into two parts. So here is a short path that will allow you to avoid the second half of it and go straight to the exit.

Episode 1

Each episode consists of two levels. The first level of this is connected with the railway in the mine. You can avoid killing enemies by trying to run forward along the destroyed rails and jump over to the other side in time. On the other hand, if you kill all the opponents in a separate area, then the bridge will fall to the left and it will be possible to safely cross to the other side. Finally, you probably noticed the train moving along the rails? It's best not to fall under it. Also try to avoid fighting near the edges of the platform, otherwise you might fall down.

On the second level, you will find yourself under the scorching sun. Avoid spending a lot of time under bright spots, otherwise you will take damage. Other cyborgs receive the same damage. Doors will only open further after you kill all the enemies. By the end of the level, you will be able to turn off the scorching sun.

After you leave the second level, ahead will be the entrance to the battle arena with the Totem Wolf. You will also see the number of lucky coins. We had two available - if you kill the Totem Wolf without dying, then these coins will be converted into spare parts.

On the other hand, coins give you extra lives. When fighting a wolf, stay on the move, dodge his attacks and pick up the right moments for your own attack. In principle, nothing complicated. The wolf is an ordinary cyborg, only with a large scale of health points.

Reward: wellness version 1.

Episode 2

The first level is called "Wealth of the Wild West". Here you will need to stand on a huge square button and wait for the gate to fall. If you step off the button, the gate will start to rise and close again. You need to try not to leave this platform, simultaneously destroying the enemies that appear. Twice they will come in threes, then one at a time.

After the first gate, you can turn left, break the barrels, kill a couple of opponents and collect the implant. If you walk along the wooden platforms, you will find a shortcut. It will open only after the first passage of the second episode.

There will be a smaller button in the next room. It is inconvenient to stand on it, but the passage will also open much faster than the previous button. In addition, opponents attack not in threes, but in twos.

The next level is called "Abyss of the Wild West". main feature locations - you need to move from top to bottom, going down and down. For convenience, the points to which you must jump are marked with a round yellow-gray icon, reminiscent of the “radiation” symbol. Climb down, defeat the opponents and jump even lower. There will be rails with a moving trolley, as well as a huge mechanism. Destroy normal enemies and this mechanism. Don't forget to attack him from the side, on the black panel.

Walk along the rails. There will be a door ahead - it's a short path, but you need to turn and jump to the right, onto a wooden platform. Kill the enemies and jump down through the hole with the rope (the hole without the rope will drop you into the abyss). Kill the last targets. You don't have to kill the flying drone - it tries to lure you into the abyss. Next to him, by the way, is another lucky coin. Walk along the rails and leave the level.

The battle with La Muerte will be much easier than the battle against the Totem Wolf. The thing is, this boss uses a long scythe, swinging it slowly, allowing you to dodge in time.

Reward: universal plasma amplifier version 1.

Episode 3

To begin with, you will find yourself in the Crypt in the Wild West. You will need to go through several rooms. If the doors are locked, they will open after you kill all the opponents. After the first such room, you will need to go down the stairs on the left. But if you go ahead, then you can find a shortcut. As always, it will open only after the first passage of the episode.

At the end of the level, you will have a battle with a familiar robot. Attack its paws by filling up the orange gauge, then stand under the robot so that it hits itself with flying missiles, and you can then damage its "cockpit". For victory, you will be given the Implant "Healer" of the maximum level.

Next in line is a town in the Wild West. As always, there will be rooms with closed doors. Kill all the enemies and you can go further. Recall that it is not necessary to destroy all the drones - the main thing is to defeat the cyborgs and the doors will open. Be careful, as dummies with shotguns appear here, shooting in a certain direction. Projectiles can hit both you and other opponents. Mannequins do not disappear even after opening the doors leading deeper into the level!

The fight with The Undertaker is somewhat similar to the fight with La Muerte in Episode 2, although there are also laser guns here, the beams of which should be avoided.

Reward: turbodynamic accumulator version 2.

Episode 4

All subsequent episodes will contain the levels that you completed in the first three. It follows that you will be able to use shortcuts! On the other hand, when choosing a short path, do not forget that you are depriving yourself of the opportunity to find a lucky coin at the end of the level!

In the fourth episode, you will first need to overcome the segment with scorching sun rays, performing the same actions as before, and then you will find yourself in a location with pressure plates in the floor. In the end, you have to fight La Muerte, who this time uses dual blades and fights much faster. As you understand, in all other episodes there will be those bosses that you met earlier, only they will be much stronger and more dangerous. In addition, mannequins with guns appear on the location.

Reward: Nanokinetic transducer version 3.

Episode 5

You will find yourself at the same levels as before. At the end of the crypt, instead of a boss with long legs, three characters with flamethrowers are waiting for you. And then you will need to defeat the Totem Wolf.

Reward: universal plasma amplifier version 3.

It is pointless to describe the passage of the remaining four episodes. Let's just list the rewards that you will receive for completing them:

  • Episode 6Hybro stabilizer version 4(reduces stamina consumption when blocking attacks).
  • Episode 7Purple cable X(reduces energy consumption when performing finishing moves, activating the drone and using injections).
  • Episode 8Versatile Plasma Amplifier Version 5(increases maximum energy, health and stamina based on the charge of the power unit).
  • Episode 9Gold glasses (worn on the head). Spectacular highlight of the personal collection of Rishbotera: rejoice, lovers of everything bright, catchy and tasteless, because your finest hour is approaching! Become the shiniest dude this side of the Klondike River. From now on, you will look not just good, but dazzling.

And at the end of the ninth episode, you will meet with the hero of the occasion - caretaker Rishboter, the very person who controlled the quality of products at CREO. However, there is practically nothing human left in it.

Note. When exiting Rishboter, be sure to interact with the panel ahead. First, you activate censorship, and then you turn off the voice of Rishboter. Repeated interaction will turn the voice back on. One way or another, the episode will be funny!

  • Abandoned workshop
  • Production Center B
  • Biolaboratory "Solution"
  • Production center B (how to get to the next location)
  • Research Department
  • administration hall
  • Core - final

Returning to this location, run to the very large door behind the screen, which was guarded by two representatives of the security service. It will now be open, and not far from the screen is lying new weapon "Legionary MG".

Secure access to CREO 1

Go to the elevator on the right. Wait for the download to start.

Unregistered site / No entries found

Climb up and go to the operations center on the right.

Operations center on location

Use the terminal to talk to Sally. Use the workbench and station if needed. Get out. After breaking the grate on the left, you will find that the path is closed. The door can be opened using the terminal on the other side. Thus, go through the door nearby.

All-seeing eye

Once you're at this location, don't rush up the steps ahead on the left. A little to the right of them there is a descent. Follow there, break the grate and go into the tunnel. After breaking the boxes on the right, find in the niche Audio recording of Malory Stark dangerous game» . There is a dead end here, so follow the other way. Take the exolift and kill two or three opponents. It turns out that you went around the stairs, on the other side. There is only one way forward - break the grate and follow another tunnel. Take the exolift down.

Arsenal

Take the exolift below where the Black Cerberus was giving instructions to his comrades.

How to kill Black Cerberus?

At first glance, Black Cerberus seems like an ordinary soldier. But do not try to relax - this is just the first part of the battle! Get closer to him to start the fight. In the first stage, use a fast weapon to dodge and instantly counterattack.

Black Cerberus

Evading his slow attacks, by the way, is quite simple. Immediately after that, you should strike your own blows! As soon as the health level drops to 25% (approximately), the Black Cerberus will knock the gamer back with a shock wave and hide.

PAX, familiar to you from the first part, will appear from the large doorway. You will have to destroy this clumsy robot a second time, after which the duel with Cerberus will continue. Focus on attacking PAX legs. Do everything the same as described in our first article on the passage of the "Abandoned Workshop" in The Surge.

The advent of PAX

Recall the main aspects:

  • We need to attack the legs.
  • You should not be face to face in front of PAX, otherwise you will be destroyed by two or three blows of his long pincers.
  • Don't rush into long combos - as soon as PAX gets his leg up, you need to run away from him or switch to another one without getting hit.

When the robot is finished, then finish off the Cerberus. Do the same as before.

After defeating the boss, pick up the loot - new weapon "MG Judge 2.0" and Black Cerberus equipment hand drawing.

Go into the room and go up the stairs. In addition to loot from the terminal, load audio recording of Howard Bonham's "Intercepted Message".

Go to the ventilation tunnel and reload energy circuit level 10. This is VERY important to do, as this is the only way you will have access to the security exosuit. Go back to the operations center and break the glass on the left. Retrieve the Prototype Security Exosuit and install it at the Medical Station. Now you can open all the doors that you could not use before.

Rise through the gate to the air tower. If you remember, there was one security door. Behind it you can find implant "Vanadium cell v.3" and weapon "MG Negotiator".

Biolaboratory "Solution"

There are three security doors in this location, but they all lead to the same external sewer corridor. Inside you can kill some enemies and find two implants - "Pneumatic Calibrator in" and "Red Cable X".

Research Department

This location also has several security doors, but they all lead to the same hallway. So, it's best to go through the air tower of the production center B. Follow the exolift at the place where they fought Big SISTR 1/3. In the end, you will reach the pit - jump down to go to the biolab. The security door will be ahead - open it.

If you go now, then for the first time you will meet opponents in the “Cocoon” equipment. You can chop off their limbs to get blueprints. Inside the hidden corridor you will find two terminals located next to each other. Download from one CREOnet audio recording "Security protocol 20:51:40", and from another audio recording of Dr. Lawrence Murphy "Entry #17". Go left and kill another enemy. Here is the third terminal with audio recording of Dr. Lawrence Murphy "Entry No. 14".

SECRET WEAPON. If you want to get this weapon, then to the left of the last terminal, where some particles are floating right in the air, find energy circuit level 30. Hack it.

energy chain

You will hear a message that the exhibits in the foyer have been opened. Go to the operation center and find a raised metal case near it (if you are facing the door of the operation center, then on the left). Break the glass and take new weapon - pole "Code name: Kamina".

Return to the location to the place where you fought with the Black Cerberus. Upstairs, near the exolift, there is a security door. Open it up and take it audio recording of Officer Andre Pearson "Missing Office Supplies", which lies between the cabinets on the right. Call the elevator, kill the enemy and go upstairs. Pick one more here audio recording of Malory Stark's "Descending".

Having dealt with the cyborgs and picking up behind the boxes on the right implant "Health injection v.5", follow through a couple of doors to get directly into the administration hall.

CREO Administration Hall

CREO Administration Hall

Follow the only possible path. Behind the far door you will see a grate. Break it and go through the tunnel to the right. Destroy the crates to get implant "Plasma regenerator v.5". Go down on the nearby exolift. Go through the tunnel and go down on the other one. Destroy the bars and take away implant "Extractor v.4". The nearby exolift leads to the beginning of the location - approach it to save this short route.

Go back to the upper tunnel and go to another part. Come down and take audio recording of Malory Stark "Betrayal". Break the bars and open the door to get into the room. On the terminal on the left, download audio recording by Norman Laur "Answer: Ans: Not decided yet?!".

The door ahead leads to the grate and new ventilation. The door on the stairs to the left - into the hall where you were, but only to the other part. Go right through it and turn to the boxes to the right. Find among them implant "Medi-electrochemical injection v.5".

Climb up the stairs at the other end. Turn right through the screens and kill a couple of enemies in front of the door. Behind the tree opposite the door, pick up implant "Mechanized counterweight v.4". Find inside the office audio recording of John Guttenberg's "Legacy".

Audio recording of Malory Stark "Alone" located near the stairs that you climbed here. Stand with your back to her. By left hand there will be a small fence, while on the right there are steps leading to the Guttenberg office (they just were). Go around the fence on the left and you will see an audio recording behind it.

There is a large staircase leading to a huge door. Kill all the enemies, but do not rush through this door. To the right of it there is a smaller door - having made your way there, you can get into the server room. And again, don't rush. Turn around, standing with your back to the small door, and go to the front passage.

After killing the enemies, you will find two doors in the corridor. Enter the passage on the right to see Hackett's hanged body and listen to his video. Under the corpse of Hackett can be found audio recording of John Guttenberg's "The Singularity". There is a panel at the back of the room - interact to open the small room to the right of the hanged body scene and find implant "Pneumatic calibrator v.4".

Hackett's corpse

The second door leads to an exolift that takes you to the "Retraining Camp". But first, try to open the large door in the previous hall - nothing will come of it. Go through the small door on the right and go down to the server room.

Server

Download immediately CREOnet audio recording "Security Protocol 00:03:12" from a nearby terminal. Near the wall next to the stairs leading down, a corpse is lying with audio recording of Malory Stark "Part of the System". This is the final audio recording of the Down the Rabbit Hole series.

Get down. Here will be level 85 energy chain crate, inside which lie two nanocores, as well as energy chain level 10 removing insulation. Reload it, and then go to the large door and enter the meeting room. Watch the recording to understand what happened here. Next, you will hear that the launch of "Utopia" begins.

Door to meeting room

Follow outside and go to the retraining camp, which we wrote about above.

Retraining camp

After going down and going into the room through the grate, behind the stove on the right, find audio recording of Ed Nakana's "The Liberator - Excerpt from Interrogation". To open the door, on the wall opposite it, find drone power circuit and reload. So you will return to the beginning of the location. But you need to go straight from the meeting room to the right route, to the yellow energy barrier, where there is a huge number of mobs. Killing Cerberus will give you implant "SNS inhibitor v.4".

The elevator is behind this barrier

Enter the elevator to go to the next location.

The game was released not so long ago, so there is not much information yet, but I think it will be useful for many who play or will play.

Weapon types

There are five types of weapons in the game:

  • One-handed- The easiest weapon to use. It has average values of "damage", "attack speed", "strike force" and "power gain". In general, a sort of balance, but on the other hand, the weapon does not particularly stand out.
  • Pole (Staff)- slightly worse in performance than one-handed, but it has a higher range and attack radius, which is very useful. If you have any problems with killing enemies, then try the pole. The tactics are very simple - hit from afar, jumped back, repeated. With a sixth, you can easily score even the most terrible enemies.
  • - The most versatile weapon in the game. It has a good "attack speed", high "damage", "energy gain" and "strike force", thanks to which it interrupts the enemy's actions well. Has the best tackle.
  • Double mount (Twin-rigged)- has the highest "attack speed", but low "damage", "energy gain" and "strike force". Although the "strike force" is low, some attacks, like backflip with fire jet or "pinwheel", have a high chance of interrupting the enemy's actions, so it's not so scary.
  • Heavy weapons (Heavy-duty)- has the lowest "attack speed", but the highest "damage" and "strike force". It is good at interrupting the enemy’s actions or even knocking him down, but the main problem is that while you swing, they can hit and interrupt the attack, so armor with high “stability” is recommended. It is also better to try to use counterattacks after dodging through crouching/jumping. you will appear right time to strike, or counterattack after blocking. Heavy weapons are best for back attacks. there is a chance to kill the enemy with one hit. The slide strike is quite slow, but if you shoot down the enemy with a strike drone in advance, then it might work out!

Attack

  • There are two types of attacks in the game: a horizontal attack and a vertical attack, and these attacks can be combined, allowing you to use various options combo. Combination attacks are, in most cases, better than just attacking with horizontal/vertical attacks only. For some weapons, combo attacks can also grant access to special attacks. For example, the weapon Maybug Throttle v.2.0 (Firebug Throttle v2.0)”, when performing a back flip, the weapon will still release a fiery stream forward, which has a high probability of knocking the enemy down and throwing him back, and when performing a “turntable”, it will still release fire from both hands, thereby creating a fiery circle around the character. Let's say " MG Judge v.2.0 (MG Judge v2.0)» If you have energy, when using an enhanced vertical attack, it will release an electric charge.
  • By holding down the horizontal / vertical attack button, you can carry out an enhanced attack.
  • If you press the attack button while running, your character will make a slide followed by an attack. The attack animation depends on the weapon type.
  • If you press the jump and attack button while running, the character will perform a jump attack. The attack animation depends on the weapon type.
  • Attacking unprotected body parts marked in blue deals more damage and has a higher chance of interrupting the enemy's actions than attacking protected body parts marked yellow.
  • A simple attack of the enemy (without selecting body parts) deals moderate damage, which can sometimes be even more than if you hit any particular part of the body.
  • The attack animation may change depending on the body part you are attacking.

Block

  • Block completely absorbs damage, but not all attacks can be blocked. When blocking, there is a chance that the enemy's attack will be interrupted and he will be temporarily stunned. The chance of this depends on the "Impact" of your weapon and bonuses from gloves for this parameter.
  • If you press the attack button after a successful block, your character will launch a powerful counterattack that has a high chance of stunning and knocking the enemy down.

Evasion

  • In addition to the standard dodge, holding down the block button and pressing the right stick up (Q + mouse wheel up)/right stick down (Q + mouse wheel down) can cause your character to crouch or jump respectively, allowing you to dodge an enemy attack. Extremely useful against enemies who like to swing or kick in the legs, as well as enemies who do "pin" or lunges.
  • But that's not all! If you immediately press the horizontal attack button after a successful dodge, your character will perform a counterattack (a jumping knee strike or an overhead strike), which will not only interrupt the attack of the enemy, but also can stun him, allowing you to easily attack him. It is clear that vertical attacks cannot be evaded in this way.

Stamina consumption

  • Each attack consumes stamina, which is displayed as a yellow bar in the upper left corner of the screen. If you carefully look at this scale during an attack, you will notice that after the stamina per attack is subtracted from the scale, a thin line remains in this place, which begins to decrease rapidly. For slow weapons, if you press the attack button just when that bar is about to decrease, the next attack will cost half stamina, for fast weapons, you need to press the attack button before the small bar begins to decrease. If successful, the scale will flash orange. So try not to spam the attack button and save stamina.

Attack in the back

  • If you stand exactly behind the opponent's back (the frame will turn into Orange color) and press the attack button, then you can knock the enemy down. The next attack will deal 3x damage. At the same time, if you killed the enemy with this attack while aiming at any part of the body, then this part of the body will be counted as cut off, which will allow you to easily get a drawing / resources. High damage weapons benefit the most from being attacked from behind.

Drone charging

  • If you have enough energy to carry out a drone attack and there is no target to attack, if you press the drone attack button, you can charge it for a subsequent attack in the future. At the same time, if you have several modules for the drone, then you can charge them all, which is very convenient.
  • Master dodge via crouch/jump followed by counterattack. This will significantly reduce the time of the battle and increase the likelihood of a successful outcome.
  • Don't forget to block with a counterattack. This is especially true for weapons with high damage.
  • Learn different combos for your weapons and memorize enemy attack combinations.
  • Implant « » paired with an implant « Electric generator (Voltaic Dynamo)»can significantly save you first aid kits. True, you will have to sacrifice the amputation of a limb.
  • When using weapons with high damage, there may be a problem that the damage is too high and the enemy dies in a couple of hits and there is no way to cut off the limb. For such cases, it makes sense to switch to a weapon with less damage.
  • The game has "robot dogs" enemies. If they cut off the tail (you just need to select it through the target and hit it until it falls off), then you will get an implant " Additional core”, which increases the charge of the power unit, which can be extremely useful.
  • It is better to wear armor as a set. the set gives good bonuses. You can find out what bonuses each set gives by reading the article " ". Assembling parts from different sets of armor also has the right to exist, but it all depends on your play style.
  • Tackle great way start a fight, and some bosses can simply be scored in a tackle. It is best to use weapons like " Single mount (Single-rigged)».
  • Later armor doesn't mean it's better. Armor in the game is a kind of variation of types: light armor, medium armor, heavy armor, and something in between. In fact, you can go through the game without any problems in the first armor " LYNX”, so choose the armor that you like and suits your play style.
  • Use a drone. Yes, it is not very strong, but very useful. For example, ranged attacks can lure enemies out, and a shock drone can knock enemies down during your attacks, which will allow you to interrupt the enemy’s counterattack and give you time to deal additional damage.
  • From the right hand, not only resources for crafting / upgrading hands fall, but also resources for upgrading weapons. So if you don't know what to chop, chop right hand!
  • Before you run somewhere, look around the corner! Maybe someone is standing there. It is also worth listening to the sounds. some opponents emit them, which allows you to know about them before you see them.

1. Cheat implant "Implanted electrodes (Implanted Electrodes)"

This implant allows you to restore energy without any attacks and has a cooldown of only 15 seconds, which opens wide opportunities. It can be found in the location Biolaboratory "Solution"", if you jump onto the platform, which is located to the right of the stairs near the Operations Center ( video→):

  • Endless piu-piu

As you may know, the drone uses energy for its attacks and thanks to the implant " Implanted electrodes"You can very actively shoot enemies from afar. With a level 2 implant paired with a helmet that reduces the energy cost for drone attacks, there is enough energy for two shots, and when paired with implants " Exosuit Capacitor (Rig Capacitor)" and " Sustaining Array"you can get more shots, and if you also charge the drone in advance ... This tactic is extremely effective for shooting enemies from behind cover or shooting enemy drones, which becomes extremely important towards the end of the game.

2. Secret location

After defeating the Black Cerberus boss and upgrading your exosuit to gain access to the locked doors, go to the boss fight and open the previously locked door, run a couple of meters ahead and immediately turn right and jump between the four crates way down. There you will find a good reward!

The second and third can be found in the location "Production Center B" in the smelter. The fourth is located in the location "Biolaboratory "Decision"", to the right of the greenhouse in toxic waste. The game, from the very moment of its first announcement, seemed very intriguing. Therefore, I really wanted to join it, and, frankly, I considered it the main game of May, despite the presence of the same Prey. But in fact it turned out that this game is extremely far from the ideals that many of us fantasized. And, if initially I tried to designate this material simply as 10 unpleasant surprises, then in the course of compiling it, periodically turning this action on and off, I came to the conclusion that it is perhaps worthy of our traditional rubric, so meet: 10 reasons to hate The Surge.

Reason #1. Weapon

It's strange, but in the face of The Surge, for some reason, I was counting on Dark Souls, with its viscous, sometimes even slow fights, but I got a typical Bloodborne, without shields and with a jump. I don’t know about anyone else, but personally I think that the combat mechanics of Dark Souls are more diverse. Trite: shields and weapons give more options than just weapons. In addition, this very weapon turned out to be criminally small, and the feeling of owning it practically did not change, regardless of what was in the hands of our hero. In general, this action cannot be counted among the games in which there is a weapon cult.

Reason number 2. Renaissance.

I experienced great disappointment when I saw that the enemies were respawning right there, it was enough for me to run into the first-aid post and improve my health a little there. Moreover, it would be okay to show that the hero went to a hospital bed for three weeks. During this time, a lot could happen, but this way: ran into the base, ran out after 20 seconds - the same enemies in the same places. They get up the same way, behave the same way, and when you see several of them patrolling the territory for different areas cards, and at the same time synchronously stepping in step with each other, the feeling of respect for the game is diminishing. This very enemy respawn is very tiring, and deprives you of the desire to go further. Moreover, there are no “bonfires” in the game known to Dark Souls fans, so in case of death from another such revived one, you will have to replay a lot.

Reason number 3. Complexity.

Purely by the sensations, already after 10 minutes of passing The Surge, the difficulty in the game became the same as it was in Dark Souls 3 after the second boss - Vordt from the Cold Valley. At the same time: the gloomy and atmospheric Dark Souls, and this is the cheerful and colorful The Surge, which in terms of status would do well to be a little easier, but it seems that the German developers decided to do everything to make their game last as long as possible, memorizing the attacks of each enemy, which, given the past and future reasons, may not be as fun as it seems at first glance. On the one hand, it seems that the complexity cannot be called a clear disadvantage, but on the other hand, I personally see in this very complexity the desire of the developers to interrupt the glory of Dark Souls, which was praised precisely for the heavy gameplay. And now get our game - it is even more difficult, praise it too! Such a technique is readable, and hardly deserves encouragement.

Reason number 4. Camera.

I'll be honest, I haven't seen such a lousy camera for a long time. And when you fight with one enemy, it’s all right, but when there are at least two of them, and this is exactly what happens most often, the camera chooses such an angle that it’s absolutely impossible to fight normally, and meeting with a couple of enemies is an almost guaranteed ticket back to the infirmary. Probably, by the way, that's why the creators of Nioh refused to fight with several enemies at the same time. Therefore, as soon as the hero catches a couple of opponents on his tail, you need to urgently run away to some narrow corridor, because the enemy that came in from the side is completely invisible, and if it is some kind of shooting drone, then in general it’s a pipe. And I still don’t mention the controls, which are clearly tailored for the gamepad, and the presence of a mouse in the hands, which, it seems, should improve the viewing angle, has little effect.

Reason number 5. Graphic arts.

The fact that everything will be very bad with the graphics, I immediately understood when, sitting in the starting car, I looked at its internal layout with curiosity. I looked up at the long, orange lights along the doors and was horrified: it's not even 2010, it's much worse. Sometimes, the game, in those places where, supposedly, the gaze of gamers should not fall, demonstrates such miserable textures that it becomes scary. Therefore, I personally don’t feel delighted about the excellent optimization, and it is really excellent, because the graphic we loved so much was sacrificed to it. And in general, the level design turned out to be monotonous, and the eye had nothing to catch on at all. And everything would be fine, but the price of this action, in view of such, frankly, outdated technologies, is very confusing.

Reason number 6. Sound.

About the sound briefly, but, nevertheless, I will say. To many, it seemed flat and uninteresting. But personally, I got tired of this beeping, announcing that there is something useful nearby, or, conversely, useless. Perhaps it can be disabled, but I did not understand how. I had never heard anything like this before: I could not imagine such a brazen attack on the ears of gamers. To be honest, playing this without headphones, if someone is nearby, I would not risk it, because this very strumming will soon become the cause of questions from others: “What is it that is happening to you that is strange, and isn’t it time for him that do something?"

Reason number 7. Locations.

I have already casually mentioned the locations, they say, they are of the same type and uninteresting, but on this wave I will say this: the developers are forced to run on the same map back and forth, just to stretch the passage time. I met a similar technique in the Bound by Flame action, whose publisher, by the way, was also Focus Home Interactive. Well, so that the players do not whine, they invented such a thing as finding a shortcut. This very path, for example, will open a short path to the first-aid post for you. You run to him, return, and find that the entire map you just cleared is again teeming with revived enemies. Well, how much do you need to love the local combat mechanics in order to enjoy such a reception?

Reason number 8. Enemies.

I personally have two complaints about the enemies in The Surge: they are monotonous and stupid. Moreover, if humanoid enemies turned out to be quite interesting, then pure robots are stupid and monotonous, but, at the same time, very dangerous, and getting under one single blow that will remove 100% of health is a mere trifle. Some in the Western press called it "extreme difficulty" and I see it as a failure to make the fight really interesting. However, this is not all. Enemies, among other things, are also the same. They move in the same way and synchronously, attack synchronously, and do not excite interest. There are frankly few types of enemies, as well as weapons, and there is nothing to hide this shortage.

Reason number 9. Plot.

The plot is the same here. The plot, or rather, its absence, was unspeakably upset. I scolded, scolded and will scold Dark Souls for the lack of a coherent plot, a coherent explanation of various phenomena, and for the developers’ reception: “We said so, so take it for granted,” but the creators of The Surge even surpassed them. The motivation of the hero is not clear, where and why he runs - it is not clear. Why he runs is not clear. Where the rest is unknown. The opening video was, albeit spectacular, but stamped. In a couple of days, I would have come up with such a plot for them, which was not in any Hollywood film, but, apparently, the lack of a coherent story happened not because of the stinginess of the mind of the scriptwriters from Deck 13, but simply because the authorities the studio decided that the plot was not needed, as the same fans of Endless Summer decided that chan was not needed. In general, without a plot, we were left with only fights that are not so much pleasing as tiring, but I have already talked about this.

Reason number 10. Combat mechanics.

The main character began by moving in a wheelchair. However, later, despite the acquired abilities, he continued to fight like a paraplegic. This became especially noticeable when a weapon called Ghost Bite fell into his hands. If you had to fight with the help of a yoke, crutches or a prosthetic leg, the blows would not look so clumsy. Well, useless and pretentious finishing animations are not only useless, but also completely impractical. On the side of the enemy, too, not everything is good: the enemies have a frankly meager assortment of attacks. But against the background of them there are unique ones. For example, CREO-Security, not only do they attack in a completely indistinct way, and it is not clear how to track the pattern of their attacks, they also teleport, restoring health in between. I still don’t understand: is this a bug with recovery, or is it really necessary, but all these small nuances, whether it’s features or bugs, had a more tiring effect than intriguing

Summary.

In general, dear guys, no signs of life were found. For all its potential, The Surge did not live up to expectations at all. The developers spoiled it as if deliberately, but it could have turned out very well. But despite all that, it's still a good game. Not a masterpiece, of course, as the first Dark Souls was at one time, but not a failure either. The only thing that can be said for sure is that it is definitely not worth the money.
