Gas pressure switch / Pitot tube
The pressure switch for the gas/air path (LW) and the pitot tube control the volume flow of the flue gases. A pressure difference is created in the Pitot tube depending on the volume flow of air passing through it, and subsequently the combustion products. Changing the position of the membrane in the pressure switch depends on the creation of a pressure difference, which is formed at the moment the required combustion air flow is reached. The change in position is mechanically transmitted to a microswitch where the contact is closed (normally open).
The signal passing through the microswitch is returned to the board of the device, which is a factor for the continuation of subsequent operation. The set pressure LW is between 68 and 80 Pa.
When servicing and checking the boiler, it is necessary to check for contamination of the Pitot tube (eg by insects), as this may impair its functioning.

When automatic adaptation to pipe length takes place:
When the Turbotec plus/pro boiler is put into operation for the first time (this mode cannot be interrupted).
- when requesting heat for heating.
- hot start.
- when the main PowerOn switch is pressed or the Reset fault is removed.
- when the contacts of the gas-air path pressure switch open during burner operation for more than 3 s.
What can interrupt the automatic adaptation to the length of the pipes (quick start-up of the boiler):
Hot water heating.
- heating of the layered accumulator.
- test mode ("chimney sweep", control programs).
- frost protection.
After an interruption due to the rapid start-up of the boiler, automatic adaptation to the length of the pipes starts with a pre-purge.
If there is no heat demand for 3 hours, the next automatic adjustment to the pipe length takes place without pre-purging.
What happens on failures during the ARA process:
If the pressure switch of the gas-air path does not work, then the boiler is blocked for 4 minutes.
- the display shows status S.33.
- after 5 unsuccessful attempts (20 minutes) the boiler is blocked with the issuance of the error code F33.
Exhaust diaphragms
The pressure generated when the volume flow is forced by the fan is used to overcome the aerodynamic resistance of the chimney / duct and the combustion chamber.
The maximum possible chimney/duct length is therefore determined by the power of the fan as well as the diameter of the chimney/duct system. Adaptation of the air volume depending on the length and dimensions of the pipes is carried out by installing or removing a diaphragm in the flue gas path of the boiler.
The design solution for registering pressure is modern, since in the previously used designs there was a danger of hitting
condensate into the impulse pipe connected to the pressure switch. In such a less sensitive system, there will be fewer crash messages.
To increase the vacuum factor, Vaillant Turbo Tek boilers are supplied with new diaphragms, which are installed at the outlet of the combustion products inside the fan, they are made of glass-reinforced polymer material. Diaphragms amplify the pressure signal from the Pitot tube.
As a result, instead of two impulse tubes, one can be connected to the pressure switch. A ventilation device is installed in the vacuum impulse tube, which provides protection against the formation of condensate.

Primary Heat Exchanger Service (PWT)
Copper plates are reinforced on the heat exchanger tubes to protect against corrosion.
The plates can only be cleaned with an ordinary soft household brush.
For heavy soiling, household cleaners can be used.
After that, the primary heat exchanger is washed with running water.
Expansion tank test (ADG/MAG)
The expansion tank is checked if there is no pressure in the boiler and in the system.
If the pre-pressure of the tank is more than 0.6, the pressure in the tank must be increased according to the static pressure of the heating system.
If water comes out of the test port, the expansion tank must be replaced.
Strainer at cold water inlet
At the cold water inlet, in front of the aqua sensor, there is an inlet strainer, which must be washed under a strong jet of water during maintenance.
Cleaning the burner of the Vailant Turbo Tech boiler
In case of slight contamination, the burner is cleaned of combustion products with a brush and a vacuum cleaner.
If heavily soiled, the burner must be dismantled for cleaning.
To do this, 4 screws on the nozzle bar and ignition electrodes are unscrewed.

Multifunctional module 2 of 7
If it is necessary to connect external components, an accessory is used - module 2 of 7. This module was developed for connection to boilers with an eBus control panel. The module is installed, as a rule, in the shield of the device.
The external solenoid valve opens simultaneously with the internal gas valve of the boiler.
External heating pump
The external pump is only switched on if:
The internal pump of the boiler has switched on (required condition).
- the priority diverter valve is in the heating position.
- a delay time of 20 s has elapsed after the priority changeover valve has been moved to the heating position.
External pump does not turn on:
If the priority diverter valve is in the hot water position.
- the internal pump does not work.
The DHW circulation pump is connected to the terminals of the multifunction module. The pump is controlled by the calorMATIC 392 / 430 regulators.

The terminals are energized if the burner is not working or 90 seconds after the boiler has been switched off. The rest of the time, the exhaust hood is blocked by the multifunctional module.
The flue gas valve is energized when there is a demand for heat from the temperature controller, when there is a demand for domestic hot water (VUW), in cylinder heating mode (VU), and 90 seconds after the demand for heat is cancelled.
Feedback signal from flue gas valve
The flue gas valve switch transmits the actual position of the valve via a 2-core cable, which is connected to separate terminals.
The flue gas valve limit switch closes the circuit when the valve reaches the fully open position and opens when the valve is fully closed. The burner can only start if the flue gas valve is open and the limit switch has closed the circuit.
