Mospilan instructions for use for indoor plants. Mospilan is a highly effective insecticide. The rate of application of "Mospilan" for specific plants

Planting any crop on the site is only half the battle. It is very important to do everything to save the future crop, protecting it from pests and various diseases. Plants can be protected in many ways: create unfavorable conditions for the appearance of pests, apply fertilizers or increase the protective properties of vegetables and fruits. Agronomists often resort to chemical protection using the systemic insecticide Mospilan. The drug was invented back in 1989.

Means "Mospilan" is popular among farmers to protect crops from pests

Composition and action

In this remedy, the active substance is acetamiprid 200 g / kg from the group of neonicotinoids. This stuff is very effective. and has a systemic effect. It can be used in case of insects at any stage of growth, whether they are eggs, larvae or already formed individuals.

There is a drug Mospilan and in granules, instructions for use for it are very simple. Plants can be protected without spraying, it is only necessary to distribute special granules over the soil surface.

If a spray is used, then after spraying the active substance begins to spread throughout all parts of the plant. Insects will quickly die if they start eating the culture treated with the drug. Mospilan effectively destroys the central nervous system in pests. After processing, the protective function lasts up to 20 days.

This video talks about the Koragen remedy for the Colorado potato beetle:

Terms of use

It is very important to correctly apply Mospilan insecticide, the instructions for which are usually always attached. The drug is first diluted in water (2.5 g per 1 liter), then another 10 liters are added. This concentration of the solution is suitable for indoor plants.

One bag of funds is enough to process a fairly large area - up to one hectare. But for each culture, a certain dosage is observed:

Combination with other means

Good compatibility of Mospilan with other insecticides for plant protection is observed. But there are exceptions - these are products with a strong alkaline reaction when mixed. These include Bordeaux liquid and preparations that contain sulfur.

"Mospilan" can be used together with other means

Before use, you need to carefully study the composition, as well as recommendations for use. Usually, the instructions indicate which drugs can be combined with a particular remedy. In any case, the presence of sulfur already points to the prohibition of combination with Mospilan, even if this is not mentioned in the manual.

Before mixing any preparations, it is highly recommended to make sure that they are compatible in order not to harm the plants and avoid unwanted chemical reactions.

Advantages of Mospilan

The drug is widely used, as it compares favorably with many insecticides and pesticides. Its main advantages include:

  1. Versatility. The drug is able to cope with pests of both vegetable and grain crops, and melons, as well as flowers and fruit trees. Mospilan is also used to protect ornamental plants. At the same time, the drug is not dangerous for pollinating insects - bumblebees, bees.
  2. No phytotoxicity. Biological efficiency is maintained for a long time - up to 20 days, while it does not cause addiction in pests.
  3. Reduced application rate.
  4. Fast result. It can be seen already an hour after the spraying procedure.
  5. Compatibility. Compatible with all non-alkaline pesticides.
  6. Studies have shown that Mospilan can be used even during the flowering period.

Security and storage

This type of insecticide is classified as hazard class 3. It does not pose a threat to bumblebees, bees, fish, earthworms. But this is no reason not to be vigilant when using it. On the packaging of some manufacturers, it is even indicated that it is forbidden to use the product in water protection zones.

When working with the drug, you should never forget about protective equipment. You can protect yourself with:

  • respirator;
  • goggles;
  • gloves
  • special clothing.

Do not smoke, eat or drink water while spraying. After the procedure, you need to remove all protective equipment and wash your face and hands with soap and water.

Observe safety rules when working with Mospilan

If it so happened that the drug was in a small amount in the human stomach, then it is recommended to drink activated charcoal (five to six tablets). You can also artificially induce vomiting and seek medical help. In case of contact with the skin, the affected area is wiped with cotton wool, and then washed with soap. If the eyes are affected, it is required to rinse them with running water, trying to keep them open.

The drug is recommended to be used in the early morning or evening. The weather is also taken into account: if it is planned to rain, then it is better to postpone the spraying procedure. Empty packaging of Mospilan is not thrown away with ordinary garbage, but burned.

Insect repellent should be stored in a place where children and pets cannot reach. There should be no food in the neighborhood. In a diluted form, the solution must not be stored for storage - it must be used immediately for its intended purpose. The optimum storage temperature is from -15 to +25…30°С. If you do not follow the rules, then the effectiveness of the drug may decrease.

Mospilan has many advantages, no wonder this tool is chosen by many gardeners who want to secure their crops. And the best proof of its effectiveness is precisely the safety of the planted crop on the site.

And in general, any crops on the site are not a reason to breathe a sigh of relief. It is important to preserve the future harvest and prevent diseases from ruining it.

There are many methods of protecting plants from pests, among which are the creation of unfavorable conditions for their appearance, the increase in the protective properties of plants, the introduction, even premature harvesting, so that pests do not have time to profit from them.

In this article we will talk about the chemical protection of plants from diseases and pests, namely, about the systemic action called "Mospilan". This drug was invented and patented in 1989 by the Japanese chemical company Nippon Soda.

Description and composition

The active substance of the insecticide "Mospilan", according to the instructions, is acetamiprid 200 g / kg, which belongs to the group of neonicotinoids. This is a highly effective systemic substance. It affects insects in various stages of growth - larvae, eggs and adults.

Mechanism of action

The mechanism of action of "Mospilan" is very simple: after spraying, it is absorbed in the shortest possible time by parts of the plant and spreads throughout its body. As a result, insects that ate the plant treated with Mospilan die. Acetamiprid destroys the central nervous system of insect pests. Besides, the protective barrier after treatment with the drug is valid up to 21 days. We will read further about which plants Mospilan is suitable for and how to breed it.

Important! Beware of Mospilan fakes. Packages of 100 g and 1000 g do not exist.

Instructions for use

The drug "Mospilan" (2.5 g), according to the instructions for use, should be diluted in 1 liter of water, then add another 10 liters of water. A solution of this concentration is used to treat indoor plants.

One bag of "Mospilan" is enough to process the territory up to 1 hectare. Next, consider the dosages for various crops.

Cereals

When processing grain crops from thrips, harmful turtles, aphids, the consumption rate is 0.10–0.12 kg / ha. The recommended number of treatments is 1.

Tomatoes and cucumbers

When processing tomatoes and cucumbers, including protected ground, from whiteflies, melons and other aphids, thrips, the consumption rate is 0.2–0.4 kg/ha. The recommended number of treatments is 1.

Potato

To protect against the Colorado potato beetle, as indicated in the instructions for use, Mospilan should be diluted in a proportion of 0.05–0.125 kg / ha. The recommended number of treatments is 1.

Beet

For the destruction of beet pests, beet (weevil, beet flea, beet leaf aphid) should be used 0.05–0.075 kg / ha. The recommended number of treatments is 1.

Sunflower

The Mospilan norm for protecting sunflower from locusts is 0.05–0.075 kg/ha. The recommended number of treatments is 1.

Apple tree

To protect the apple tree from invasions of the stalk, aphids, moths, apple leafworm, the following dosage should be used 0.15–0.20 kg / ha. To protect against all types of scale insects, the dose of Mospilan should be increased - 0.40–0.50 kg / ha. The recommended number of treatments is 2.

Processing of fruit trees "Mospilan" is carried out according to the instructions for use for - 0.2-0.4 kg / ha.

Compatibility with other drugs

Insecticide "Mospilan" goes well with other pesticides. The exception is drugs, which give a strong alkaline reaction when mixed, for example, Bordeaux liquid, and preparations containing sulfur. Before use, carefully read the composition and instructions for use.

Despite the fact that this insecticide belongs to the 3rd hazard class (moderately hazardous substance), care must be taken when using it.

First of all, this concerns safety precautions when spraying - be sure to wear protective equipment (gloves, respirator, overalls).
Smoking while spraying plants is prohibited. The recommended time to use the insecticide is early morning or evening. It is also desirable to take into account the weather on the day of treatment with "Mospilan" - it is desirable that the precipitation should go no earlier than 2 hours after spraying.
After finishing work, hands, face and other exposed areas of the body should be wash thoroughly with soap.
Packaging from "Mospilan" must be burned. It is forbidden to throw it into water bodies.

Mospilan is an agent belonging to a new class of insecticides - neonicotinoids. It has an effective contact and gastric action against harmful insects from the Lepidoptera, Hemiptera, Coleoptera, Homoptera families. Mospilan can be used to process various vegetable crops, as well as sunflower, winter wheat, apple trees, pears, citrus trees and other crops.

Characteristics of Mospilan

The active substance of Mospilan, developed by Japanese scientists, is acetamiprid, the content of which in the composition of the insecticide is 20%.

The insecticide Mospilan is presented in the form of a water-soluble powder, which is packaged in packages of different weights - from 2.5 g to 1 kg.

Mechanism of action

Mospilan, which is characterized by excellent systemic and translaminar action, is absorbed by the plant within a short time and spreads throughout all its parts, including untreated ones.

After treatment, pests, as a result of direct contact with the insecticide, as well as when eating parts of plants poisoned with Mospilan solution, die.

The insecticidal effect of Mospilan is manifested by its effect on the nervous system of insects, which leads to strong nervous overexcitation, paralysis of insects, and then their further death.

Depending on the type of insect, the insecticide can have a poisonous effect on eggs, larvae and adults.

Advantages of Mospilan

  • Has contact and systemic action;
  • Destroys pests regardless of the phase of development: eggs, larvae, adult insect;
  • Does not cause resistance in both the adult pest and its larvae;
  • Effective even at high air temperatures, and therefore it can be used even in the hottest months;
  • Non-phytotoxic, odorless;
  • It has good compatibility with literally all pesticides and insecticides, with the exception of those that, when combined, make the solution highly alkaline (sulfur-containing agents, Bordeaux liquid)
  • Plant protection period is 15-20 days;
  • Does not pose a danger to humans. Also non-toxic to bees, fish, earthworms and mammals.

Instructions for use

Plants are treated with a freshly prepared solution during the period when the number of pests reaches the economic threshold of harmfulness. The result of the action of Mospilan is visible within an hour after the spraying.

The insecticidal plant protection drug Mospilan has clearly passed the peak of popularity among summer residents and small private growers, and during it, hopes for this drug were definitely redundant. But the potential of Mospilan as a plant protection product (PPP) against pests has not yet been exhausted. The active substance of the drug stops the development of eggs of harmful organisms, and very few plant protection products have an effect on their non-feeding phases. Therefore, it will not be superfluous to figure out in what cases and how Mospilan in an individual household is still applicable and useful.

Composition and form of release

Mospilan insecticide is developed and manufactured by Nippon Soda Co. The active substance - α-acetamiprid - is a white or yellowish powder (see Fig.) with a solubility in water of 4.2 g / l. This makes it possible to produce a preparation for the purposes of agrochemistry in the form of a water-soluble powder (WRP, RP) or a water-soluble WRC concentrate, because acetamiprid is much more soluble in organic solvents, for example. in ethyl alcohol. Sales forms of other manufacturers in the form of a wettable powder SP, suspensions, emulsions (CS, SC, CE) necessarily contain additives; possibly not listed in the product description.

Note: the original drug goes on sale in a 20% concentration (200 g/kg), but it may be different for analogues, see below.

Action

Acetamiprid belongs to the class of neonicotinoids and is a contact-intestinal nerve agent. Its effect on pests is similar to that of other substances of this class (see below): the drug blocks nicotine-dependent acetylcholine receptors on synaptic membranes of nerve cells. The object of the lesion stops eating, and within an hour convulsions and death await him. But, unlike other neonicotinoids, acetamiprid is able to some extent to penetrate the membranes of fertilized eggs and kill the developing embryo, i.e. Mospilan also has ovicidal activity, although limited, see below.

Problems of Mospilan

The disappointment of small owners in Mospilan is largely due to the fact that the drug was not effective enough against aphids in the open field, see for example. video

Video: an example of the inefficiency of Mospilan against aphids

The comments on this video are one of the possible reasons: not the original drug. It is quite likely, because "Analogues" from the active substance purchased in bulk often contain acetamiprid at a concentration 5-10 times lower than the original one. Well, if it is indicated on the packaging or in the description, see fig. below, but often not.

Secondly, neonicotinoids are incompatible with alkaline plant protection products (Bordeaux mixture, preparations with copper, lime, soda); summer residents and private owners know this. But not everyone knows that Mospilan absolutely incompatible with sulfur. If a sulfur-containing preparation was filled into the sprayer before its use, then flushing the device is not enough. From traces of sulfur, it must be disinfected, and in relation to this substance, this is oh so difficult. And if insignificant traces of sulfur remain in the sprayer, then branded Mospilan will be sprayed from it almost ineffective.

Thirdly, aphids in the open field are very difficult to lime without first getting rid of the ants grazing it. Without them, the aphid population will not grow to bring significant harm - natural enemies will not. At the same time, acetamiprid is also extremely toxic to predatory insects that eat aphids, see also below. And the ovicidal activity of Mospilan on aphid eggs is low; best of all, it destroys the laying of mining moths. As a result, the ants manage to save part of their herd for brood, useful predators, having eaten poisoned aphids, die, and the effect of Mospilan against aphids is the opposite.

Note: the same will happen in the greenhouse if the aphids are brought into it and the ants are grazing.

Mospilan and bees

Statements about the alleged safety of Mospilan for bees, sorry, or extreme ignorance, or shameless lies. In total, 4 neonicotinoids are known today:

  • Acetamiprid (drugs certified for individual farms Grinda, Mospilan, Stozhar).
  • (the same, Borey, Tanrek, Taboo).
  • Thiacloprid (Biscay, Calypso).
  • Thiamethoxam (Aktara).

All of them have a hazard class for insects (any) and aquatic organisms of at least 4th, and Mospilan for bees can be safely assigned the 5th (deadly dangerous). It is because of the too rosy, not at first, attitude towards neonicotinoids that some Western countries are now importing bees and beneficial insects - all of their own have died out. In France, where there are no uncultivated lands and reserves of wild insects in nature for a long time, all neonicotinoids were banned back in 1999. In 2017, under pressure from "brothers" in the EU, the French Ministry of Agriculture allowed the drug Calypso with thiacloprid, but the local guidelines for agricultural technology refrain from recommending its use.

In Russia, there are more natural spaces not polluted by pesticides, and land use is much less chaotic. It is at least a fundamental possibility to provide a buffer zone of an apiary for more than 3 km and more or less systematic use of pesticides in summer cottages and small settlements. Replenishment of useful entomofauna on cultivated areas from natural reserves is quite realistic. Therefore, in addition to the above 11 preparations for small areas at the beginning of 2018, 8 or 9 more preparations based on neonicotinoids are allowed for large agricultural machinery in the Russian Federation. But it is better for private traders on the open ground to focus only on Iskra Zolotaya and Confidor from the Colorado potato beetle, because. there is no real replacement for them. And with Mospilan you need to be more careful, see at the end. In any case, it is unacceptable to use Mospilan during flowering on the site of any nectariferous plants minus two days before it and plus the same amount after.

Mospilan from the Colorados

Mospilan is relatively cheap (approx. $70 per pack of 0.5 cubic dm of the original powder), has a long shelf life in suitable conditions (see below) and can be taken from the opened package in parts. Therefore, amateurs try to combine it from the Colorado potato beetle with other relatively inexpensive means, see for example. video:

Video: Mospilan + Regent against the Colorado potato beetle

However, of course, there is no guarantee that the recipe will work on a whim in other local conditions in this case. As well as objective qualified studies confirming the effectiveness of the technique and the absence of aftereffects from it. And the land is not “my hut on the edge”; land use rules apply to everyone. Something bad happened in the vicinity from amateur experiments - the experimenter is to blame.

Precautionary measures

For warm-blooded humans, Mospilan is a hazard class 3 substance. But, firstly, one should take into account the better than other neonicotinoids, the permeability of the skin for acetamiprid. Secondly, the specifics of the use of the drug in the private sector, see at the end.

As a result, waterproof overalls for working with Mospilan are required. Lightweight respiratory and eye protection equipment is acceptable (latex gloves, petal respirator, canned glasses, see fig.).

After work, PPE is disinfected with a solution of 50 g of soda ash per bucket of water; textile / knitwear is washed with laundry soap or soap powder. Permissible operating time 4 hours; at the end of it you need to take a shower. Security space around the work area:

  • apiary - from 3 km (restriction of the summer of bees from 48 hours);
  • reservoirs - 1.5 km;
  • children's institutions and playgrounds, places for collective recreation - 150 m;
  • for children, pregnant women, nursing mothers, allergy sufferers, people who are sick or have had cancer - 50 m;
  • residential buildings, poultry houses, cattle yards - 15 m;
  • outbuildings not intended for keeping pets - 5 m.

If the operator shows signs of malaise, stop working and consult a doctor. Symptoms of poisoning: shortness of breath, salivation (increased salivation), tremor (trembling of the limbs, facial tic), impaired coordination of movements, convulsions. If the drug gets on the skin, remove it without rubbing it with a swab moistened with a solution of baking soda, and wash in the shower with soap. In case of contact with eyes, rinse with open eyes under running water. If ingested, immediately contact a toxicologist: there is no antidote, symptomatic treatment.

Storage

The original Mospilan in unopened packaging is stored for 36 months. in a dark place (all neonicotinoids are subject to photolysis). In fact, the powder can be taken in parts over 2 seasons from a tightly closed vapor-tight container if the drug is stored in a dry room (neonicotinoids are also subject to hydrolysis). The remaining storage conditions are common for pesticides: under constipation from children and animals in a separate non-residential premises in which food products are not stored. The permissible storage temperature range for Mospilan is + (5-30) degrees Celsius.

Note: how to divide a package or a large sample of powder into small doses without accurate scales, see the video below:

Video: how to measure the right amount of the drug

Compatibility

To prepare Mospilan tank mixes with neutral or slightly acidic agrochemicals that do not contain sulfur (see above), you must first make a compatibility test. In a shaded room, 50-100 ml of working solutions are prepared, poured into a clean glass dish and left for an hour in darkness or twilight. If signs of a chemical reaction are found (change in temperature and / or color of the mixture, turbidity, flakes and / or sediment, bubbles, foam) - the drugs are incompatible. But this is not yet a guarantee of compatibility: by artisanal methods, the incompatibility of pesticides is accurately determined only by the lack of a protective effect.

Application procedure

The temperature range of Mospilan's effectiveness corresponds to that for storage. That is, this pesticide is not spring and is not very effective in the summer heat. The working solution of the drug is prepared in a plastic bucket in the shade or in a shaded room. The water temperature is 20-25 degrees. The container is poured with water by a third or a quarter, with continuous stirring with a chemically neutral stirrer (glass, plastic), the powder is gradually introduced, stirred for another 3-5 minutes and also, while stirring, add water to normal. The finished solution is immediately poured into the spray tank. It should be completed within a day. Bearing in mind the disintegration of the drug in the light, the treatment should be carried out in the evening. Time to rain - from 4 hours.

Instructions for treating plants with insecticide Mospilan are given in Table. On potatoes, the drug is more effective against such a little-known pest as the potato ladybug. On an apple tree - from mining moths. Does not take sawfly eggs at all, because. they hide them deep in the wood. For the effectiveness of Mospilan against aphids, see above.

Let's think about the future

Mospilan, like imidacloprid (the basis of Iskra Zolotoy and Kofidor), at the first time of its use seemed to be environmentally safe in the long term, because. does not contain sulfur, phosphorus, metals that give long-term negative after-effects. But its deadly effect on insects has already led to a quiet but severe environmental disaster in some Western countries. There is a lot of space and wildlife in Russia, but not infinitely. It is immeasurably more difficult to control the environmental impact of many small farms than large areas. So it is highly desirable for private farmers to limit the use of the insecticide Mospilan to greenhouse farming. Mospilan garden can be "released" for a season or two to get rid of mining moths. And on the field - if a potato cow is massively planted. Which, of course, is better not to.

Final note: when working with Mospilan in a greenhouse, the use of PPE, which completely excludes contact of the drug with the worker's body, is mandatory!

« Mospilan"- a highly effective insecticide with systemic and contact action. Since the drug is systemic, it is absorbed by all parts of the plants and distributed evenly to all organs. As a result, pests die from eating the treated plants. In addition, when the drug enters the integument of the body, they also die as a result of disorders that occur in the nervous system (contact effect of the drug). The drug is produced in the form of a wettable powder, in bags of 2.5 g.

The manufacturer of the insecticide "Mospilan" is the Japanese company "Nippon Soda Co., Ltd."

Manufacturer's official website: .

Purpose

Mode of application

The content of one package (2.5 g) is enough to process 8-10 acres. Before starting work, the drug is dissolved in 1 liter. water, stirred until it is completely dissolved, and topped up with water up to 10 liters, this concentration is used to destroy pests of indoor plants. For pests such as the Colorado potato beetle, apple comma-shaped scale insects, the harmful turtle bug, the drug consumption rate is increased by 2-3.5 times (4–8 g of Mospilan per 10 liters of water). The effect of the insecticide is noticeable within an hour after spraying the plants. For example, the greenhouse whitefly cannot feed on the underside of the leaves and falls due to disturbances in the nervous system that Mospilan causes. The period of protective action after spraying the plants lasts 14-21 days. Important in the use of this insecticide is that insect pests do not develop resistance to the drug, since it is based on new mechanisms of action.

Compatibility

"Mospilan" is well compatible with most insecticides and pesticides, except for those that, when mixed, give a highly alkaline solution medium (Bordeaux liquid, preparations containing sulfur).

Security measures

"Mospilan" belongs to the 3rd hazard class (substance with moderate danger). The drug is not dangerous for pollinating insects, mammals and aquatic organisms. It is not phytotoxic. Has no smell. When working, it is necessary to use protective equipment: a respirator, gloves, overalls, goggles. Drinking, eating, smoking during the processing of plants is prohibited. When all work is completed, work clothes are removed, hands and face are washed with soap, it is advisable to rinse your mouth with soda.

What to do in case of poisoning

In case of poisoning with Mospilan, symptomatic treatment is used. If the drug gets on open areas of the skin, it is wiped with a cotton swab, without rubbing it into the skin. Next, this place is washed with soap. In case of contact with the eyes, they are washed in running water, trying to keep the eyes open. If the insecticide is swallowed, the victim must drink activated charcoal and induce vomiting.

Storage

Store "Mospilan" in a specially designated area for the storage of pesticides with a temperature range of -15 - +30 ˚C. During storage, the drug does not cake and does not lose its protective properties from temperature fluctuations.
