Metal light box. Pit for a window in the basement: device, types of structures. What are light wells

Light wells ACO "Therm / Markant" is a system for ventilation and lighting of cellars and basement floors. The design avoids flooding of the premises, as it performs the function of draining groundwater and precipitation. The white surface of the body of the pit reflects light, and the hermetic fastening to the wall prevents groundwater from entering the pit itself and, as a result, into the room. The basement always stays dry, even during very heavy rainfall.

The ACO Therm / Markant grate allows you to open the basement windows for ventilation without fear of intrusion into the room. The grille is equipped with special anti-vandal fasteners. The system is very durable and protects the housing from unwanted intrusion.

ACO "Therm / Markant" pits are made of polypropylene or polyester with fiberglass reinforcement. This ensures the strength and durability of the structure and minimizes routine maintenance and repairs. The system is hermetically attached to the wall, providing excellent waterproofing. The pit grate is made of steel and equipped with an anti-vandal mechanism.

Light wells ACO «Therm / Markant» are:

  • optimal lighting and ventilation of the basement;
  • strength and tightness;
  • structural durability;
  • protection against unwanted entry into the building;
  • various sizes;
  • height adjustment;
  • easy installation.

You can install the system yourself without resorting to the help of specialists. Pit "ACO Therm / Markant" are produced in different versions, differing in the type of grid, dimensions and body material:

  • lattice - looped or in the form of a grid;
  • material - polypropylene or polyester;
  • Height can be adjusted with extensions.

The manufacturer offers the following sizes of pits:

  • length 80-25 cm;
  • width 60-130 cm;
  • depth 40-60 cm.

For each size, there is an optimal distance from the foundation wall for installing the system - from 40 to 70 cm. The basic system consists of a housing, a grid and components for installation. If desired, the design can be supplemented with anti-vandal fastening, extensions and sewer inlet.

In addition to underground buildings, there may be basement, basement and underground floors.

basement- a floor with a floor mark placed below the planning mark of the earth to a height of not more than half the height of the premises.

Basement- a floor when the floor level of the premises is lower than the planning level of the ground by more than half the height of the premises.

Underground- a floor with a floor mark of the room below the planning mark of the earth for the entire height of the room.

The elements of arrangement of the underground part of the building are the entrances to the basement, pits, blind areas.

Basement entrances they are usually arranged in the form of single-flight stairs open to the outside, located in special pits adjacent to the outer wall of the building and fenced with a retaining wall.

To protect against precipitation, such a pit is covered with a roof (sometimes translucent).

The entrance walls are made of bricks 250 mm thick, cinder blocks (190 mm), monolithic reinforced concrete (200 mm), prefabricated reinforced concrete blocks (300 mm).

In multi-storey buildings, the entrance to the basement is arranged, as a rule, from the staircase inside the building, and in manor houses, most often - from the first floor under the flight of interfloor stairs. In this case, it is advisable to isolate the entrance from the first floor with a fence on all sides and a door on the first floor.

The slope of the outer stairs is usually 1:2 (150x300 mm), the inner one is 35-45°, the width is at least 900 mm.

blind area. One of the ways to isolate the underground part of buildings from surface water is the installation of a pavement made of asphalt, asphalt concrete, cobblestone, flat stones, concrete, curly paving elements (FEM) around the building.

The width of the blind area depends on the type of soil and the size of the cornice extension (200 mm more than the cornice overhang) and is assumed to be 600-1000 mm. The transverse slope (from the building) is 5-10% for crushed stone and cobblestone pavements and 3-5% for asphalt concrete and concrete.

The base material is selected from the condition of ensuring the watertightness of the blind area as a whole. Sand is mainly used with a bedding layer of oily clay or concrete.

Light wells. To illuminate and ventilate basements and basements, windows located below ground level are arranged in the outer walls, and in front of the windows there are wells called pits.

The walls of the pits are made of brick, concrete with waterproofing along the outer surface and must be at least 150 mm above the ground level. The bottom of the pit is made of concrete with a slope of 1.5% from the building.

From above, it is advisable to cover the pit with a decorative metal grate with a translucent coating device (for example, from a polycarbonate sheet).

Rice. 6.18. Light well plan

Pools designed in almost any shape and size. The pool bowl is made of monolithic reinforced concrete. After pouring concrete, the inner surfaces of the bowl are leveled with plaster mixtures, and after the plaster layer has dried, a PVC film “liner” is installed, which is both waterproofing and lining the pool.

The set of equipment for sewerless pools includes:

Sewerless filter unit;

Electric heater or heat exchanger;

Hydromassage;

Pool care accessories;

Set of means for care of water of the pool.

What are light wells?

Currently, light pits are universal systems that are used not only to ensure the proper level of lighting in basements, but also for rain and melt water. As a rule, such devices are mostly used in private homes. Light pits are distinguished by high strength and resistance to various kinds of mechanical stress, which is why they can be operated for a long period of time and do not require repair or restoration work. Due to their design, these devices evenly distribute the load over their entire surface and therefore the probability of damage, even with a strong impact, is reduced to almost zero. This unit may be used in excessive humidity due to its complete sealing and waterproofing. With the help of extensions, you can adjust the height of the pit at your own discretion.

Light wells for basement windows can be used to collect rain and melt water, even in the event of heavy rainfall, the basement will remain dry and the most favorable level of humidity will be maintained. Today, the body of this device is made of various material options. White propylene can be used, which is reinforced with fiberglass for greater strength. Sawn plain and fiberglass reinforced polyester. In many ways, these devices are adapted to the load that is exerted by pedestrians and vehicles. It should be noted that they are made of galvanized steel with a special anti-vandal mechanism. As a result, they are not afraid of the effects of corrosive processes and mechanical damage.

The standard kit of the light pit includes: a housing, a mesh grille, and a mounting kit, presented in four modifications. For pedestrian traffic, for running over a vehicle, for hermetic installation, for installation on thermal insulation. Today, such devices are quite easy to buy and, if desired, and if you have free time, you can install it completely on your own without the use of outside help. These practical and versatile devices for their use do not require special knowledge and skills.

Description

More light in the basement The steady rise in prices for land, construction and materials dictates a more rational use of usable space in a country house. This applies in particular to basements. Their purpose can be very different - from rooms for engineering equipment to offices and gyms.

ACO Markant® light-transmitting pits are a robust and lightweight structure that brings daylight into basement windows for multifunctional use of basements.

Due to the strength of the material, the optimal location of the fastening bolts and sealing, the pit is suitable for high groundwater. The pits are made with an outlet. Water is drained from the pit through the outlet into the general sewer.

Getting into the pit, rainwater flows down its smooth walls to the outlet at the lowest point and is discharged through the siphon into the sewer or wall drainage.

Types of lattices

All pits are equipped with metal gratings for pedestrian or vehicle loading. Due to the optimal placement of the dowels for attaching the pit to the basement wall, the load is evenly distributed around the perimeter of the structure.

By choosing a house project with a basement for yourself, you get a significant additional area.

And, of course, it would be unwise to use the basement only for technical needs and storage of any belongings. And in order to fully use the rooms in the basement as residential, it is necessary to install windows in them.

Both for sunlight and for natural ventilation of the room. In clear sunny weather, a couple of windows are sufficient to provide a normal level of natural light in a medium-sized basement.

Yes, and psychologically it is much more comfortable to spend time in a room with windows than in a “concrete cube”, albeit well-lit with electricity.

Ground floor. Features of installing windows - photo gallery

The process of both choosing and installing windows for the basement floor has some peculiarities.

And it is somewhat different from that for ordinary windows.

The main difficulty is that the windows of the basement are often located either below ground level or at a height of ten to twenty centimeters. This suggests that the windows will carry additional loads, in particular, be exposed to excessive moisture.

But by paying enough attention to the problem of choice and proper installation, you will definitely "win this fight."

Windows in the basement. What material is preferable

For installation in the basement, you should choose only windows made from modern materials and using the latest technologies.

So you are guaranteed to save your money and time.

Yes, and nerves, since the replacement of new windows that quickly fell into disrepair, of course, will not please you.

What are the best windows to choose? What material?

Plastic windows for the basement

Modern PVC-profile windows have a light opening ten to fifteen percent larger than windows of the same size made from other materials. And for the basement, fifteen percent is a very significant plus.

At the same time, the plastic window will not lose its qualities: neither the thermal insulation, nor the sound-proofing qualities, nor the strength of the structure will suffer.

If the basement in your house is high enough, then the installation of metal-plastic windows will be very profitable in financial terms. Since if the windows are located above ground level or half deep, then you can not spend money on ordering special designs, but simply buy ordinary budget windows.

The only condition for selection is that the window should be with opening sashes (at least one) and with a sufficiently good level of sound and thermal insulation.

Also take care of high-quality waterproofing of the points of contact of the frame with the walls of the basement. It is best to use polyurethane foam for this purpose. Although it is expensive, it is effective and reliable.

Basement aluminum windows

It is appropriate to use aluminum profile windows for basements only if you do not plan to equip a basement for housing.

Since not such a window is able to sufficiently thermally insulate the room, even if we are talking about the so-called "warm" aluminum profile.

If you plan to use the plinth as a technical room, for example, under a boiler room or pantries, then the aluminum profile is quite suitable for you. For unheated premises, its protective qualities are quite enough.

And since aluminum windows are cheaper than plastic ones, their installation in technical rooms is fully justified.

The number of color variations of aluminum structures is very extensive and you can always choose the option that suits your interior.

Wooden windows for plinth

Wooden windows in basements and semi-basements are rarely installed.

Since simple wooden windows made according to the old technology will not withstand operation in a basement for a long time. High humidity and lack of sun and the “drying” effect of the wind will quickly bring such frames into complete disrepair.

And modern wooden windows, produced using innovative technologies from high-quality wood using a variety of impregnations and varnishes, although durable and “hardy”, are much more expensive than the most expensive and high-quality metal-plastic. This makes their use for basements not entirely financially justified.

But, if you, nevertheless, stop your choice on modern wooden windows, you will definitely not regret it.

Such a cozy and "solid" atmosphere will not give you any material other than wood. And if your house is built of timber with natural stone trim, then the combination with wooden frames will be just perfect.

Ground floor. Features of installing windows

There are several ways to provide high-quality natural lighting in basements and semi-basements.

First of all, this, of course, is the installation of windows.

But there is also an option with the use of light lanterns and light pits.

The option is selected depending on the design and height of the plinth and your personal preferences. It is also possible to combine several types of basement glazing.

If the basement of your house is high, then the best option would be to install ordinary windows. How to say "cheap and cheerful".

But if the windows are half or completely deepened, then there are three possible options:

window installation

To be able to install a regular window, you will need to dig a pit.

Usually it is finished with concrete or brick. The pit can be either rectangular or semicircular in shape and its size should be slightly larger than the size of the window.

Sometimes the pits are closed with bars, this option has a double benefit - it will save and protect children or pets from falling into the pit from intruders.

The bottom of the pit should be deepened by about fifteen to twenty centimeters below the level of the window sill and must be equipped with a drain grate. Otherwise, after rain or spring floods, you will get an “aquarium” instead of a window.

Water should be drained into a storm sewer system, or at least use a perforated drainage pipe, deepening it a meter into the ground and filling it with rubble around. So you get an absorption well that evenly distributes water in the thickness of the soil.

Installation of skylights

Tunnel light lanterns are a corrugated tube, covered from the inside with a reflective material and closed on top with a transparent dome.

One end of the lantern is inserted into the opening made in the wall, the other is brought to the surface of the pit. To install the lantern, the pit must be closed from above.

Lanterns let in less light than windows, but are also cheaper.

The amount of light depends on the diameter of the lantern, which can have a diameter of twenty-five to fifty-five centimeters, and on the orientation of the dome relative to the cardinal points. Also make sure that the lantern is not covered by anything, such as a bush, flower bed or tree.

One light lamp with a diameter of twenty-five centimeters will effectively illuminate no more than four square meters of a room, thirty-five centimeters in diameter - up to six meters, and fifty-five - "cope" with a room up to twenty-five squares.

In some models of tunnel lights, you can install a frame with a lamp. At night, such a lantern will turn into a kind of lamp - a sconce.

We invite companies and individuals from St. Petersburg and Moscow to cooperate. One of the principles of our company is to always meet the needs of our customers.

Drainage

Drainage Systems and Technologies LLC offers you to buy a drainage system.

Melting snow in spring, summer showers and prolonged autumn rains will turn any most comfortable city into a rather dirty and dull place. And how many problems flooded basements, trees that died from excess water and crumbling foundations of houses will bring! But fortunately, all this does not threaten modern cities. Many centuries ago, people began to use drainage systems that were constantly improved - from simple trenches, tiled gutters, to modern gratings that we are used to seeing on the streets.

Drainage is very important especially in crowded places and places with high traffic flow. Gas stations, airfields, ports, warehouses, cargo terminals, sports complexes, and industrial enterprises cannot do without them. Drainage prolongs the life of the object and protects it from destruction.

Ladder plumbing

You can also purchase a sanitary ladder from us. Its main task is to capture water, eliminate unpleasant odors in an apartment or a private house. It is needed wherever there is sewerage. By the way, another name for this product is a water lock. They are installed in the floor or under the sink.

Drainage trays in Moscow

The drainage tray is included in the design of any drainage system. This product is necessary to remove excess water accumulated after rain or snow melt. Drainage trays are mounted near road curbs, water pipes and near the annular blind area (at the end). The grate of the drainage tray is the primary filter.

Hatch under the tile

With us you also have the opportunity to buy a tile hatch in Moscow. Such hatches are installed under the tiles in bathrooms under toilets, sinks and bathtubs. Thanks to ceramic tiles, which are glued to the structure from the outside, such a hatch becomes invisible.

Storm water inlet in Moscow

The storm water inlet is one of the most important elements of the storm sewer. Its role is to collect water not only from pipes, but also that which flows down the road surface. The rainwater inlet perfectly prevents the formation of puddles.

You can see all of the above and many other products on our website. Also, through the company's Internet resource it is easy to place an order or contact our specialists.
