One of the interesting options is a cardboard screen. To make it yourself, order cardboard tubes designed for winding fabrics or linoleum. In a specialized store, they generally consider waste. The finished partition will turn out to be wavy. A set of tools and materials:

cardboard tubes (16–20);
strong decorative rope (1 skein);
drill;
scissors, tape measure, pencil;
paint of a color suitable for the interior (optional).

If you decide to use pipes for linoleum, then 8-10 pieces will be enough. Their length is more than 3 m, so cut each in half:

Cut all pipes to the required height and lay them in a row.
Measure from the bottom edge 20 cm and make a mark on each element (point A).

Making a mobile screen with your own hands is possible using plastic pipes. The finished partition will help to zone the premises or hide from the sun's rays on a hot day. Prepare:

screwdriver;
self-tapping screws, nuts-washers;
paints, brush;
furniture wheels (4);
a board that will be the base;
a pair of flanges;
plastic pipes (3);
metal pipe for weighting the base.

Cut a strip from the synthetic winterizer a little wider than the panel. Lay on the board and fix with a construction gun. Cut off the excess material on the sides.
The piece of fabric should be the same size as the padding polyester. Attach it to the panel, stretch it, break the edges and fasten it over the synthetic winterizer layer.
Use glue to secure the edges of the upholstery tape. Additionally fix it with nails. Repeat the same steps for all panels.
Connect the structure by laying the two panels face down. Attach furniture hinges at a distance of 10 cm from the top and bottom edges, attach them. At the end, fix the third panel in the same way.

5. The third way. This half-empty hotel interior, designed in a neutral color scheme, had every chance of becoming one of those transit zones that do not catch the eye. The situation was saved by a screen, thanks to which the room acquired a new dimension. Of course, we are not so naive as to take the painting for a real landscape. And yet the city streets stretching intoperspective, involuntarily suggestive: where to go next - right, left or straight?

6. Hang to the fullest! To fulfill its original purpose - to intrigue and hide - such a screen will not be able to. But thanks to her, in your bedroom there will be no cluttered corners that need to be hidden from prying eyes. For greater practicality, a mirror can be inserted into one of the doors of such a mini-dressing room.

7. Divide and Conquer! Make the kitchen isolated or combine it with the living room? The truth lies in the middle, and its name is a screen. For example, the owner of this Parisian loft uses the rare Claustra screen, invented in the 60s by the Cloutier brothers, as a partition.

8. Submission from the corner. This corner is a typical "dead zone" - the approach to it is blocked by armchairs and a table by the fireplace. The screen does not just "justify" the existence of this nook. Its mirror doors reflect light and visually expand the space. The only problem is that the screen is located near the head of the bed. Think carefully whether such a neighborhood will suit you: admiring your sleepy physiognomy in the morning is not entertainment for everyone!

9. Holy place. The age-old problem - how to use the space under the stairs - designer Kelly Hoppen solved with the help of a screen. The openwork design of black lacquer rings became the backdrop for the yellow "eared" chair. However, in this interior, the screen solves not only decorative, but also spatial problems - it serves as a "watershed" between the dining and sofa areas.

10. Reliable rears. Sitting with your back to a door or window is extremely uncomfortable. In this interior, the problem is solved by a screen that forms a kind of niche and gives a sense of security. I can’t even believe that we are not in front of a cozy old mansion, but a modern open space.

11. About times, about customs! Since screens first came to Europe, interest in them has faded, then flared up. Another surge happened during Art Deco, when screens made using lacquer, metal and glass came into fashion. The photo shows a typical representative of that era, although this is not an antique, but a skillful stylization. The author of the object is a modern American designer Thomas Fizant.

12. Everything on the side. Sometimes screens take on the role of architectural elements (such as columns, niches, etc.), changing the proportions of the room and setting it in a solemn mood. Installed on either side of the bed, they form an alcove.

13. Under 16 and over. As they say, comments are superfluous. Before us is an object - useful in all respects. It remains to add that such a screen is useful not only in the nursery, but also in the office or, say, in the kitchen. If you don’t like chalk (it crumbles, after all), insert a magnetic board with a special coating into one of the doors, on which you can write with felt-tip pens.

14. Everything is a head! The screen often acts as a headboard. Here, this idea is brought to its logical conclusion: the doors are covered with the same fabric as the bed valance and chair upholstery. But you can do otherwise - play in contrast, making the screen a central element of the interior.
