Can the room be ventilated with an exhaust fan?

The exhaust fan is only effective if there is air flow. In the new model, emphasis is placed on noise insulation - all internal surfaces of the ventilator are covered with a porous noise-absorbing material.

The dimensions and thickness of the ventilator have slightly increased compared to the previous model. The overall dimensions of the Tion Breezer 3S case are 453x528x203 mm.

The inlet has moved to the bottom of the case. If you need to install on the hole made for the previous model, Tion Breezer 3S can be hung upside down.

In the new model, air is blown upwards through two narrow slots, in the Tion O2 it is blown forward through a grille in the lower part of the case.

I summarized the results of measurements in a table.

The results of the readings of two instruments using different measurement principles (the impeller for the Testo 417 and the heated thermocouple cooled by the passing air for the Testo 425) are quite different and I don’t know which one to believe. However, it is possible to compare the results of airflow measurements of different ventilators and evaluate the compliance of the measured parameters with the declared ones.

At the minimum speed Tion Breezer 3S provides a flow of 21-28 M³/hour;
Measurements with a flow conditioner and calculation of the average value per minute gave slightly better results than we received in the previous experiment ().

To measure the noise level, the Oktava Eco 11A device was installed at a distance of 1 meter from the ventilator body. The minimum noise value was fixed, which allows you to compensate for any external short-term sounds.

The noise level in a very quiet room with the fans turned off was 18.1 dBA.
Measurement results:

At the first speed Tion Breezer 3S is almost silent and gives 21-28 M³/hour. This air flow is enough for one person in the room.

At the second speed, the fan noise is quiet, but already audible. When there are two people in the room, the CO2 level in the room rises to 900 ppm at night.

Second speed, day, two people in the room. The CO2 level sometimes exceeds 1000 ppm.

During the day, the second speed may not be enough. In this case, during the day, when the activity level is higher and the noise level requirements are lower, the third or fourth speed can be used.
