On the TsA-2A machine, circular saws for longitudinal sawing of type A with set teeth with a diameter of up to 400 mm and a thickness of up to 2.5 mm are used. The diameter of the inner hole is 50 mm.

The dimensions of circular saws and the number of teeth are determined according to GOST 980-69. The profile of the saw teeth is shown in Figure 2.

Figure 2 - Saw tooth profile

The saw blades are attached to the saw shaft with pressure washers. The saw has a special hole into which a pin is inserted to prevent the saw blade from turning during sawing.

Compliance with the requirements of the safety standard

Only workers who are well aware of the structure of the machine and the purpose of the controls are allowed to service the machine.

1. Before starting work, it is necessary to make sure that the mechanisms, fences, and grounding are in good condition.

2. The stops (claws) of the claw curtains must be sharply sharpened and freely return to their original position under their own weight. The total gap between the claws should not exceed 1 mm.

3. Worker's clothing must be tightly buttoned.

4. It is necessary to periodically check the correct operation of the locking devices.

When working on the machine, it is prohibited:

1. Put into operation a faulty machine or use it for work that does not correspond to its intended purpose.

2. Run the material into the cut until the saw has reached full speed.

3. Adjust, clean, lubricate the machine to a complete stop of its mechanisms.

4. Sawing material with a defective, poorly sharpened and set saw.

5. Work in poor lighting, making it difficult to control the operation of the machine.

6. Leave the machine running without supervision.

7. Raise the front claw curtain when cutting material.

Designed for high-performance longitudinal sawing of edged and unedged boards up to 80 mm thick into bars of the required width.

On the machine, it is also possible to saw slabs with a difference in their thickness (within one slab) up to 30 mm. In this case, the slabs are fed into the machine with a flat surface down.

  • The base of the machine and its bed have a welded and fairly rigid structure. The machine table is made of gray cast iron. The saw shaft housing, the lower feed rollers and the upper pressure roller housings are mounted on a table whose material dampens the resulting vibrations. Therefore, the machine has sufficient vibration resistance.
  • The saw shaft is driven by an electric motor through a V-ribbed belt. The use of such a belt instead of a group of classic V-belts made it possible to reduce the load on the saw shaft and its bearings, to reduce vibrations, because poly V-belt runs more quietly.
  • The saw shaft is mounted in bearings, the housings of which are mounted on the lower surface of the cast-iron table of the machine. The forward bearing - radial-stop dual increased accuracy. It eliminates axial movement of the shaft and provides, among other factors, the required machining accuracy. The rear bearing is also of increased accuracy. In order to increase the durability of bearings, replenishment of lubricant in them through oilers is provided.
  • Saws are installed on the cantilever section of the shaft through the key, which prevents them from turning. Spacer bushings are placed between the saws, the thickness of which is selected depending on the width of the sawn bars. Flanges are installed on the outer side of the end saws of the set. The assembled package of saws is clamped with a special gear nut, which has a thread direction opposite to the direction of rotation of the saw shaft. After clamping the saw package, the gear nut is locked with a special screw. All this ensures a reliable fastening of the saws. A special wrench for this nut is included with the machine. It greatly facilitates and speeds up the process of fixing saws.
  • The lower rollers are made of steel to increase their wear resistance. Their length is 350 mm. To improve the grip of the rollers with the wood of the blanks, longitudinal grooves are made on their outer surface. At the intersection of the groove surfaces with the outer surface of the rollers, sharp edges (corrugations) are formed, which ensures a stable supply of workpieces.
The top rollers are also made of steel and corrugated - for the same purpose. They are cantilevered on the shafts. The latter are installed in bearings in brackets that can swing around a fixed axis. These rollers press the workpiece against the lower rollers both by their own weight and by springs. Adjustment of the upper rollers in height (for the thickness of the sawn workpieces) is made by rotating the corresponding flywheel. The height of the rollers is measured on a special scale.
All rollers, both lower and upper, are rotated by an electric motor. This ensures a stable supply of workpieces, even in winter conditions.
  • The feed rate is changed by switching the rotational speed of the two-speed electric motor and by reinstalling the gears on one of the feeder shafts. For this purpose, four interchangeable gears are included in the scope of delivery of the machine. They are located in the machine on the cantilever section of the shaft and their change takes only a few minutes. A variety of fixed feed rates allows you to process at the optimum speed.
  • Behind each of the saws, one guide knife is installed, which are also included in the scope of delivery of the machine. When the workpiece moves, the knives enter the cuts and additionally ensure its rectilinear movement.
  • The machine is equipped with a guide rail. It serves for basing sawn edged boards. The ruler can be re-installed in the machine depending on the width of the bar sawn by the end saw of the setting (between the saw and the ruler). The width is measured on a scale. To adjust the base surface of the ruler parallel to the plane of the saw, adjusting screws are used.
  • The machine is safe to use. For this, there are special protective devices: two rows of upper safety stops that prevent the ejection of the workpiece or its sawn off parts towards the machine operator; fences for saws, chain drives, rollers; system of dynamic braking of the electric motor of the saw drive, which provides a quick stop of the saws when the drive is disconnected from the network: feed reverse - to remove the unfinished workpiece from the machine (if necessary); shear safety pin in the feed mechanism and others.
  • The machine is quite compact due to the fact that the saw drive and feed drive are located in the frame. As a result, it occupies little production space.

TsA-2A Circular rack and pinion machine with roller-disk feed for longitudinal sawing of boards. Application area

The machine is designed for high-performance longitudinal sawing of edged and unedged boards up to 80 mm thick into bars of the required width.

On the machine, it is also possible to saw slabs with a difference in their thickness (within one slab) up to 30 mm. In this case, the slabs are fed into the machine with a flat surface down.

The machine is used in woodworking enterprises, sawmills, construction sites and other industries related to woodworking.

The execution of the machine provides for operation in a closed heated room.

Design features of the TsA-2A machine

The location of the saw shaft relative to the workpieces being processed is lower. The workpieces are fed by four rolls: two lower and two upper. The lower rollers base the blanks, the upper rollers press them against the lower rollers. All rolls are driven, which ensures a stable supply of workpieces.

The high productivity of the machine is ensured by a powerful saw shaft drive electric motor (15 kW) and high feed rates (up to 102 m/min). Unlike other machines of similar purpose, CA 2A-1 can cut slabs.

In order to exclude vibrations of the saw shaft in the spindle assembly, a double angular contact bearing of increased accuracy is used; the transmission of rotation to the shaft is carried out by one wide V-ribbed belt. The top roller and pressure discs oscillate around a fixed axis. They press the workpiece with their own weight, which makes it possible to cut workpieces of different thicknesses and slabs. All feed rollers and discs are grooved, which ensures that even frozen wood is fed.

An excursion into the history of the CA-2A multi-saw machine from storage (used CA-2A multi-saw machine)

The TsA-2A circular saw machine is manufactured by the Tyumen Machine Tool Plant, founded in 1899.

Currently, the plant manufactures TsA-2A-1, TsA-2A-2 machines, which are distinguished by a more powerful saw shaft drive electric motor and a higher feed speed.

According to the reviews of manufacturers, the TsA-2A series machines are one of the most reliable domestic circular saw machines. Until now, the plant receives applications for the supply of spare parts or individual parts to replace worn ones for machine tools that have worked in production for 25-30 years. Such durability is explained by the thoughtfulness of the design and the high quality of the manufacture of the machine.

The TsA-2A machine is time-tested. Its predecessor, the TsA2 machine, was put into production in 1973. Since then, it has been repeatedly upgraded with the expansion of technological capabilities and increased power. The power of the electric saw drive motor has been increased during this time from 11 kW to 22 kW, the maximum distance between the edge saws has changed from 50 to 210 mm, instead of six fixed feed rates, there have been eight, etc.
