Good afternoon, dear subscribers! Today, while walking through the grocery store, my eyes fell on the stew. I haven't bought this product for a long time. Do you know that stewed meat was once considered a delicacy? There were times when such a jar was worth its weight in gold. Dishes made from it are very tasty and have a unique taste of childhood.

If I buy such meat in a store, I always try to take GOST. It seems to me that such a stew with such a sign passes a number of checks.

Stewed dishes are, of course, not dishes for a holiday table, but I think that they are just right for the home, tasty, fast, satisfying, especially when you need to prepare something immediately.

Today I will show you recipes for stewed potatoes. Catch 🙂, choose a recipe and treat your loved ones!

I hope that using my ideas you will get a delicacy on the dinner table!

Little secrets ofhow to make stew with potatoes even tastier

The first trick. Before preparing stewed dishes, you need to remove the meat from the jar and first mash the pieces with a fork. Then the dish will turn out homogeneous and without lumps.

The second trick. When you open the jar, remove the top layer of fat; you won’t need it, firstly, it’s extra calories, and secondly, this fat may contain harmful substances.

Trick three. It is not recommended to salt dishes made from such meat and potatoes, since the stew contains a large amount of salt. If you add salt, then add little salt, and it is important at the end of cooking. Since salt can turn potatoes into mashed potatoes, as salt softens them.

Trick four. When choosing a stew, look for the GOST sign and make sure it is not expired and the manufacturer is known. It is better to take it in glass, as the contents are visible, rather than in tin cans. And glass is safer for health.

Stewed potatoes with stewed meat, recipe in a saucepan

To stew potatoes and stew in a saucepan, peel the tubers. If the potato is fresh, you can scrape the skin. This way, more nutrients will remain in the potatoes.
Rinse the peeled tubers, cut into large cubes and place in a saucepan. Please note that you need to pour a lot of water, the liquid should slightly cover the potato pieces.

Place the potatoes in a saucepan on the stove. Peel the carrots and onions. Grate the washed carrots and cut the onion into cubes. I have green onions, they will successfully replace onions and turnips. Sauté carrots and onions in vegetable oil. If the stew is fatty, you can use fat from a can of canned food instead of butter. At the end of sautéing, add the stew itself and tomato paste to the vegetables. The tomato will give the dish flavor and make the broth richer. If you don't have tomato paste, you can do without it.
Transfer the sautéed vegetables and meat from the frying pan to the potatoes in the pan. Simmer the potatoes and meat stew in a saucepan, covered, over low heat until cooked.

A few minutes before the end of cooking, add bay leaf, chopped fresh herbs, and salt if necessary. Stewed potatoes with stewed meat in a saucepan are ready. Divide it among plates. You can invite your family to the table.

From young potatoes it is good to prepare not only potatoes with stew, but also garlic potatoes with a piquant taste, dish recipe.

      • several potato tubers (something about 800 g);
      • 1 large carrot and onion;
      • salt - to taste;
      • 325 g can of premium beef stew (if you subtract the thick layer of fat from this,
      • of which there is a lot in any stew, the weight of pure meat in it will not exceed 250 g);
      • mixture of dried dried vegetables - a tablespoon;
      • vegetable oil - about 50-60 ml.

Cooking time – 40-50 minutes.

How to cook potatoes with stew:

First, peel and rinse all the vegetables. Grind the carrots using a fine-mesh grater (you can also cut them into thin strips), chop the onion randomly (this is a matter of taste).

Cut the potatoes into not very large cubes (or cubes) and put them in a deep bowl and immediately fill them with cold water. So the vegetable, firstly, will not have time to darken; secondly, water will wash away the starch from it (this substance contained in potatoes spoils the dish, since the broth from it becomes cloudy and thick).

Now let's proceed directly to preparing the dish. First fry the onion in oil until translucent.

Then throw the carrots into the pan along with the seasonings, mix and sauté for 3-4 minutes.

Add the potatoes, drained in a colander and washed under the tap.

Pour a glass and a half of hot (or warm) water, stir and close the pan with a lid. If desired, you can pour even more liquid or, conversely, less.

Let's simmer over moderate heat for about 5 minutes. Now is the time to throw in the stew that has been disassembled into small pieces, add salt to the dish, mix well and continue to simmer until the potatoes are ready.

We will serve our potatoes and stew with herbs or some other
