How to make a screen with your own hands from the lattice. Screen-partition for the room: the secrets of an elegant screensaver. Attaching the soft pad

The primary task of such an invention as a screen -. For those who are tense with square meters, the screen will be a real find. It is thanks to the screen that you can hide the sleeping place from public view, separate the work area or make a mini-wardrobe. The great thing about the screen is that it is mobile and you can move it from place to place without affecting other interior items. Unlike a bulky closet, the screen is very convenient and does not hide the already missing centimeters of living space. A properly selected screen will not only solve the problem of zoning home space, but also add charm.

Types of portable screens

Standard screens consist of 3-4 wings and fold like an accordion. Inside the frame, such screens are covered with fabric. The frame of such partitions is made of wood or metal.

Non-standard screens can be made from almost any material. The sashes of such partitions differ in height, and the decoration can be made from a variety of elements: paper, fabric, lace, rattan, leather and other things. The folding parts of such a screen are closed inwards.

Do it yourself

It is not always the purchase of a finished screen in a store, this is what we need. Sometimes there are difficulties with the selection, the desired shape or general style. In this case, you can make a screen with your own hands. Screens with woodcarving or mosaics look gorgeous, but this requires special skills and abilities. We will consider the option of creating simple screens on a wooden frame with a glass and fabric finish.

What materials do you need to stock up on to create a screen on a wooden frame with your own hands:

  • Wooden boards of the required length;
  • special paper for grinding;
  • paint or stain for wood;
  • saw of any type;
  • cutter;
  • electric drill;
  • screws;
  • six small loops;
  • fabric or glass, depending on how you will finish the screen inside the frame;
  • glue;
  • wooden glazing beads;
  • lamellas.

We prepare 12 boards from for the frame and grind them, 8 - vertical screens long in height and 8 - horizontal in the width of each individual sash.

How to properly assemble the frame

With a cutter, we make “pockets” for wooden veneers at the end of the boards. We grind all cuts and recesses with sandpaper. In the holes made, we apply glue on wood and insert the lamellas. The glue will swell and the connection will be very strong. Thus, we collect all the components of the frame and leave the glue to dry completely. Thus, we collect three frames. After drying, we tint the frames in the desired color, for this you can use paint or wood stain, which will give the frame an interesting color and at the same time the natural pattern of the tree will remain visible.

The first type of room divider you can create is a Chinese style screen with glass. Further, for its manufacture, we will decorate the glass panel with stained glass film. We cover the surface of the glass with a slightly soapy solution and, using a regular ruler, remove liquid bubbles from the surface. To insert glass into the frame, it is necessary to make a special recess along the inside of the frame. We insert our pseudo windage into it, fix the glass using glazing beads, small nails and a hammer. Having marked the right place, using a screwdriver and screws, we mount all the hinges that will connect the sashes together. The first screen with glass is ready. If desired, wheels can be mounted at the bottom of the screen to make it easier to move the partition to the right place.

Video tutorial on how to make a Chinese style wooden frame screen:

The second version of the screen will be made using fabric. This time, on the frame prepared in the same way as in the first version, we will stretch the fabric. We select the fabric of the required color and, having previously made measurements, we take it with a small margin so that the fabric does not stretch, but hangs like a “curtain”. You can take a ready-made pleated fabric or create this effect with a sewing machine. Using a construction stapler or small nails, we attach the blank fabric to the frame. Chair feet or furniture wheels can be nailed to the legs of the screen.

The filling of the screen can be anything, you can use your own drawings on whatman paper, beads, feathers, and so on in the course of fantasy. Of course, it’s easier to make a screen on a finished frame, but it costs a lot, and why spend money if the matter is essentially not dusty.

Parts of the frame frame can be fastened in completely different ways using the one that is convenient for you: screws, wood glue butt-to-butt or using lamellas - we described this method above.

Decor and decoration

You can decorate the frame in any way that is acceptable to you, the easiest is to paint with paint, but decoupage, wood painting or other decorative decorations on the frame will look better. The inside of the screen can also be decorated. Decorate the fabric with bows, butterflies or other applications, or you can apply embroidery.

Screen with a window

This is a more complex version of the partition to create with your own hands. This window can be used as a clothes hanger. It is done with the help of an additional wooden crossbar, mounting the bar at a distance of 20-25 cm from the top and fasten the fabric at the level of the bar.

As you can see, creating a beautiful screen on a wooden frame is not at all difficult. All its elements can be bought at the nearest hardware store and, having shown imagination, create an incredible, impressive, author's partition.

Mobile, decorative screens were popular in the past centuries in China, Egypt, Greece. These were light structures of various shapes and parameters. Wealthy owners decorated them with exquisite fabrics, expensive stones, and precious metals.

Types of screens

When choosing a product model, you need to rely not only on the design decision. Consideration should be given to the room where the screen will be used, its functionality and mobility. Therefore, consider what models are:

  • Folding screens, which are connected to each other by several frames (from 5 or more pieces). The product can be removed by folding it into an accordion.
  • Single-screen are a frame made of some material with a fabric stretched over it, fixed on a stand. For convenience, this type of screen should be equipped with rollers.
  • The shape of the book is a screen consisting of two equal parts (although asymmetry is permissible). It can be folded up and placed anywhere. Depending on the appearance, the screen is used for different purposes (dressing, photo shoots).
  • Flexible models. They are made from a mass of thin rails, plates, plastic pipes and the like, interconnected. The highlight of the partition is that it can be placed in a spiral, wave.
  • Deaf products are mainly made from different sashes and their number, their main characteristic is opacity. It can be a solid material (plastic, plywood, cardboard, fabric). Such models are used to highlight the zone in the room, garden, as well as for changing clothes.
  • Transparent. Most often, this is a frame covered with a transparent material - gauze, organza, mosquito repellent fabric. Metal screens, which are made using air forging technology, as well as wooden models with openwork carvings, are popular. These products perform a decorative role for festive events, photo shoots, decorating the interior of a room or garden.

Materials for making screens

Traditionally, these products were made of board panels, slats, which were covered with some kind of fabric. In modern times, creative models that are made from a variety of materials are more popular.

There are many models and ideas for creating screens. Consider an affordable version of the assembly of the classic form.

The traditional look involves the use of fabric, which is sheathed with a frame made of tree. The screen can be in the form of a book, an accordion. The color of the material is selected depending on the design of the room where it will be used.

One of the mandatory rules of a quality interior is zoning. A simple partition will help divide the room into functional areas. Even a novice master can make a screen from improvised materials with his own hands. It is enough to use the tips for making a decorative element.

The easiest way

You can make a screen in just an hour if you use a ready-made wooden shield as its basis. It can be bought at a furniture store.

You will need:

  • furniture board - 3 pcs.;
  • loops - 4 pcs.;
  • screws - quantity depending on the design of the hinges;
  • tools.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. The accessory is painted, varnished or aged.
  2. The screen is assembled starting from the definition of the front side of the wings.
  3. The two parts are folded with the front sides to each other and mark the location of the loops.
  4. The hinges are attached with screws.
  5. The third sash is applied so that when the craft is turned like an accordion, all the doors are facing the viewer.
  6. Screw in the loops. The simplest screen is ready!

From wooden planks

The next method will require some skill and ability to handle a tree. You will need several sanded wooden boards of the same length and thickness, as well as tools and hinges. For decoration, you can use ordinary wallpaper.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Before starting work, the wooden elements are dried. Otherwise, under the influence of domestic heat, a wet tree will begin to dry out and deform over time.
  2. The doors are painted. It will also act as a primer for wallpaper. If there is not enough paint, only the ends are covered with it.
  3. Wallpaper is glued to the doors. To make the screen stable, it is equipped with plastic legs.
  4. After the wallpaper has dried, the loops are screwed in. The screen is ready.

frame screen

This option looks impressive and will fit into various interior styles. If you use a light fabric, the partition will perfectly decorate the Provencal atmosphere, dark and steel shades will complement the loft.

To make a partition you will need:

  • wooden slats;
  • corners;
  • screws;
  • roulette;
  • pencil;
  • the cloth;
  • double-sided hard Velcro;
  • stapler;
  • tools.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. The slats are sawn in accordance with the dimensions of the future partition. Gather windows using corners.
  2. Screw on the loops. The number of shutters can be any. It all depends on the size of the resulting frame and the dimensions of the room.
  3. The fabric is cut to the size of the windows, adding two centimeters on each side. The soft part of Velcro is sewn along the perimeter of the cuts.

A do-it-yourself screen is easy to make: you can manage an evening in an ordinary living room using a simple home tool. And the result is a piece of furniture that effectively zones the space. In an old house with rooms of sometimes bizarre configuration, a stationary screen will allow you to partition off the living space without starting redevelopment and general construction work. If the screen is not needed yet, it will not take up much space in the pantry in storage. A screen made of modern materials (see below) can be kept in plain sight, and no one will immediately guess what it is.

How did the screen

The screen was invented by the medieval Chinese. In the long and complex history of the Celestial Empire, there are rulers whose deeds would make Genghis Khan and Hitler and the whole panopticon of banana dictators break out in cold sweat. Including the ruler of the former Central African Empire, Bokassa, who preferred human flesh from all types of meat. He especially liked the only professor of mathematics in the country. The subjects did not have time to kill this monster, they fled to Paris.

Note: Emperor Bokassa is one of the prototypes of Nikwana Wambozi in The Bourne Identification.

But even the most “favorable and well-intentioned” Chinese dynasties, for example, the original Ming, showed such ingenuity and perseverance in collecting tribute from happy subjects that the boyars of Princess Sophia, with their tax on bast shoes of 2 money per pair, would only have to howl with envy. If the then Chinese had to pay less than 50 different fees, he believed that he was living in a time of great prosperity.

For example, in addition to the usual real estate tax from smoke, capital houses were subject to additional payment to the treasury. A special tax was levied for each of the living rooms; also for utility and utility rooms. The Chinese people are hardy, at least then, and the climate of China is quite mild in the north of the country. Therefore, the screen for the room was primarily a means of avoiding ruin from legalized robbery, not only for peasants, but also for very rich people. Considering ancient Chinese drawings on silk, pay attention: luxurious-looking towers from the point of view of building mechanics are actually light buildings. If this is not the dwelling of a representative of the highest nobility or an official, they are not subject to taxation at all.

Screen in the West

Nevertheless, until the end of the 16th century, at least China was the most advanced state in the then world, far ahead of the rest. European travelers, among other achievements of the East, introduced the West to the screen; she came to the place in the poor cottages, and in the castles of aristocrats. The openings of the traditional Chinese screen were covered with rice paper with ink drawings, pos. 1 in fig. In Europe, paper was then just beginning to be made from rags; it was less durable and much more expensive than rice. Therefore, the first thing that the Europeans did with the screen was to remove the labor-intensive small lattice and tighten the frame with a cloth. How to make a European-style screen of a simple design, see the video below for an example.

In the Baroque era, decorative screens on a forged frame (item 2 in the figure) became widespread, which were already more an object of prestige and a luxury item. Their similarities from pipes can be seen today (pos. 3), however, to make a screen on pipes, at least the simplest production conditions, equipment and skills are needed. But there is a rational grain in decorative screens - these are removable sash panels that can be washed, pos. 5. We will deal with, as the most simple, cheap and convenient, screens made of wood, from modern, as well as from improvised materials.

Shoji

There is also a hidden, but fundamental difference between the eastern screen and the western one. The European artisan is primarily concerned with the cost-effectiveness of the product while meeting the specified quality parameters; eastern - the expression of oneself in a thing. Simply, while doing the work, the Western master thinks about the settlement with the customer, and the Eastern master thinks about eternity. Such an ideology of mastery reached its extreme expression in Japan. The Japanese, on the other hand, replaced the folding accordion screen with sliding shoji. We are interested in shoji because their sashes without an enclosing frame are quite suitable as sashes of a particularly exquisite sliding screen. Japanese carpentry is laborious, but extremely original. If you are interested, you can watch a video tutorial on Japanese joinery and a shoji making tutorial below.

Video: do-it-yourself shoji

We will further consider in more detail the features of the manufacture of European screens: framed wooden screens covered with fabric and solid wood.

Construction and installation

A drawing of one sash (section) of a simple screen is given in pos. 1 figure below. It is better to make the legs of an outdoor screen (for example, a country one for a summer shower on the wall) asymmetrical in height (pos. 2), so the sash leaf will be less dirty.

A partition screen for a room, on the contrary, will be more convenient with symmetrical shortened legs of a smaller supporting area, pos. 3:

  • Shortened legs will reduce the visibility of the space behind the screen.
  • The reduced footprint will increase the stability of the screen, see below.
  • The vertical symmetry of the legs will allow you to install the screen in the position you had to, without looking closely where the top is, where the bottom is, and without turning it over. In a small, cluttered room, this can be quite significant.

On the legs of a heavy screen made of wood, it is better to use anti-slip furniture thrust pads, pos. 4. Wheels and rollers are by no means suitable: even a light overturned screen can cause trouble. The least dangerous for fragile objects near the XPS screen, see below.

Note: you shouldn’t make a screen without legs - it will rub the floor, get very dirty, and in the summer it will be stuffy behind it.

Sustainability

The folding screen loses its stability when the opening angle of the wings is more than 150 degrees. For the safety of vases and cups, the opening angle is limited to 135 degrees; this also makes it possible to deploy the screen in the shower cubicle, because. the angle on the other side is 90 degrees. The simplest limiters for the opening angle of the screen are made of laces or nylon threads, see fig. If the screen is folded and put away for storage, the limiters on the one hand are made detachable with buttons or clothing buttons.

Mounts

The least laborious and cheap, with sufficient rigidity and low weight, is the frame of the screen sash made of slats 50x25 or 40x20, pos. 1 in fig. If a portable screen is being made for temporary use, this is the best option, because. when folded for storage, the thickness of the package comes out half as much. However, novice craftsmen will have to fasten the slats with furniture corners, pos. 2, which will be visible through the close-fitting.

A stronger and more rigid floor screen is made from a 50x50 or 40x40 beam on self-tapping screws in the ends (pos. 2) with gluing. Fasteners at first do not reach the end, leaving gaps of 1-1.5 mm. Then, 3-4 drops of PVA are allowed into each joint and the frame is pulled tight. This should be done on a PE film bedding so that the glue does not leak onto the floor. The frame can be immediately lifted and leaned against the wall to dry to make room for the next one, but it is undesirable to rearrange and disturb the drying frame.

Hinges for sashes can be used ordinary card, pos. 3. Piano hinges (pos. 4) will provide complete obscurity of the screen, but they will cost much more. However, we will return to the hinges for connecting the screen flaps later.

Like real

If you know how to make a connection of thin parts half a tree (which, by the way, is not difficult), then you can make a screen from the same 50x25 or 40x20 rails, which only a local master will distinguish from a real Chinese or shoji. For this:

  • 2 identical semi-frames are assembled on glue; possibly with vertical and horizontal lintels imitating the lattice of oriental screens. For greater beauty, on the half-frames on the inside and jumpers, you can make a mug from the face with a cutter (remove shaped chamfers).
  • Also prepare cuts of thin fabric with a margin of approx. 100 mm along the contour. Natural fabric (cotton, linen) must be decathrated in advance - soak 2-3 times and dry completely.
  • A fabric is applied to the back side of one of the semi-frames and covered with threads from the opposite (front) side.
  • The semi-frame is laid on a PE film bedding with the panel up and carefully smeared along the PVA contour until the fabric is completely saturated.
  • When the glue dries, apply a new layer of it, as well as along the contour of the back side of the other half-frame.
  • The second semi-frame is placed on the covered cloth and pressed down with weights.
  • After 1-3 days, the excess fabric is cut off and the cloth is impregnated on both sides with a soft wide brush with a water-polymer emulsion or PVA diluted 3-4 times with distilled water. Composition consumption - approx. half a cup per 1 sq. m.

The cotton fabric processed in this way becomes similar in appearance, touch and rigidity to thick rice paper. Imitation of ink drawings is done in advance, before the fabric is impregnated. You need to draw with nitro or shoe paint, because. mascara will melt from moisture. The fabric impregnated with diluted PVA does not get dirty easily and does not need to be washed: it can be cleaned from the surface with furniture cleaners. In addition, the fabric impregnated in this way becomes non-flammable and does not sag.

Note: there is no special need to additionally fasten the half-frames to each other - the PVA adhesive seam of such an area will be very strong.

Why distillate?

Water-polymer emulsion (WPE) is available in packages of 2-5 liters; this is, in general, the same highly diluted PVA. For the impregnation of a small amount of commercial wood or a small area of masonry, PVA for EPE can be diluted with tap water, but streaks will remain on the fabric after such impregnation. So buy in a pharmacy with a prescription department of distillation, its consumption on a screen is nothing at all.

loops

Stationary screens are rare; almost any one once has to be folded like an accordion and hidden in a closet / closet. In order for the screen to fold into a compact package, the hinges must be placed alternately on one side and the other of the wings, see fig. Above there, the proportions are distorted for clarity. The upper hinges to ensure the rigidity of the sash are placed above the nearby cross member (frame beams); the lower ones are lower than the nearby one.

If the screen will be placed as a booth, at the ends of the wings on the back of the hinges, bevels at 40-45 degrees must be removed; note - at the top and in the center in Fig. The bevels at the ends of the extreme wings are also shown conditionally, based on the installation of additional sections. If the screen will not be built up, the ends of the outer doors remain straight or rounded as you wish.

About the fabric upholstery

It is better to close the screen frames by sewing covers or with ties (see above), and not by attaching the fabric to the ends with a stapler. At the top, the cover is fastened with buttons or a zipper. Then it will be possible to remove the lining for washing and tighten the sagging fabric.

Screen all made of wood

A wooden screen makes sense if the space behind it should not be visible at all. Since even the lightest solid wood screen is quite heavy, at least 3 60 mm or wider hinges are required for each sash. Furniture slabs of laminated chipboard or chipboard with a thickness of 6 mm or more are suitable for a sliding screen made of wood, pos. 1 in fig. It will be cheaper, but it will require more work, take non-laminated chipboard, paint and paint, pos. 2.

An excellent material for a wooden screen is the shutters of old doors. They can be left vintage, pos. 3, or restore, pos. 4. But in any case, the screen of the door leaves will be very heavy: if it falls, there will not be enough furniture, dishes and trinkets. Therefore, it is advisable to use a screen of door leaves in a room of an old house with corners and niches in order to fence off a separate room without starting construction work and, most importantly, without redevelopment. In this case, one of the screen wings must be attached to the corner (pos. 4). Then the screen can be stretched directly. From above, if the ceilings are high, you can arrange a mezzanine, which does not require painful design, like redevelopment.

Note: door leaves for the screen do not necessarily need old ones. Furniture makers and door craftsmen often sell defective (out of size, damaged) or unclaimed door and cabinet doors, pos. 5. Incorrectly cut ones are especially good - they can simply be given away for pickup, and for a screen, the difference in the width / height of the wings does not play a role.

Styrofoam screen…

Styrofoam for the screen is good because you can cut out the most bizarre patterns in it. If soft granular foam is used, the sashes will have to be inserted into a wooden frame, pos. 1 in fig. You can, of course, paint everything in one tone (pos. 2, this is how wedding screens are made), but the work remains laborious, and the screen comes out fragile.

For an impenetrable household screen, a type of foam is better suited - extruded polystyrene foam EPPS. It is almost as light, but much more durable. A screen from XPS can be made using only a mounting knife, scissors and a glue brush, if you use, firstly, cloth loops, well known to sailors of the sailing fleet and aviators of the era of plywood biplanes. Secondly, if you increase the surface strength of the XPS with a pasting cloth; its overall strength is already sufficient.

The EPPS screen device is shown in fig. The proportions are distorted for clarity; legs and finials are conditionally not shown. XPS boards are needed with a thickness of 15 mm or more. In this case, the thickness of the 4-leaf screen folded for storage will be slightly more than 60 mm, i.e. almost the same as a single sash screen made of wood.

A rather rigid technical fabric is taken on the loops: tarpaulin, canvas, hemp burlap. All PVA is glued in full compliance with the gluing technology (see below). The ends are pasted over with the same technical fabric, thin plywood, PVC, furniture edging without a comb, etc. At the ends, to fasten the folded package, staples and loops for hooks made of wire with a diameter of up to 3 mm can be inserted into the PVA. Deepening into the material - 60-70 mm. The shanks of the fasteners are sharpened, they pierce the mounting sockets with them. Then 2-3 drops of PVA are allowed into each nest and the parts are put in place.

Screen-picture

Due to its low thickness and weight, the folded XPS screen can be stored in plain sight, hung on the wall. To do this, you need to design the front side of one of the extreme wings as a decorative panel (for example, a fragment of photo wallpapers), and make suspensions on the other. Here you can also get by with PVA, pieces of fabric and pieces of nylon thread (see also the figure below):

  1. With a pencil, mark a horizontal line on the sash that has not yet been pasted over, because. it is on it that the joint of the skin will have to be. PVA strips are applied with a brush under the line;
  2. When the glue dries to a wet touch (taken with a finger when pressed), loops are applied in a figure-eight with wrapped tails. Each loop is pressed down with the end of a pencil with an eraser or a glass rod;
  3. After the first adhesive layer has completely dried, a second and also a layer of glue is applied to the prepared pieces of technical fabric. Withstand glue to a dry tack, i.e. the dried film is fed under the finger, but it is not taken, and a fingerprint remains on the adhesive layer;
  4. The flaps are placed in place and carefully pressed down with a finger until the thread under them is clearly outlined.

Suspensions are dried for a day. After pasting with a decorative fabric, each such loop can withstand a load of more than 12 kg. For a screen that weighs less than 5 kg, more than enough.

Note: on cloth hinges, framed wooden screens can also be assembled, but not solid wood.

... and a cardboard screen

Packaging cardboard is a good fit for a screen made from improvised materials. If you also impregnate it with a water-polymer emulsion (a 5-liter canister is enough for 2-3 4-leaf screens), then a cardboard screen will serve no less than a wooden frame. Cardboard patterns are a little more difficult to cut than foam, so a cardboard decorative screen can look very good, see for example. video below.

Partition screens have been successfully used in the interior for more than XIV centuries. They were first used in China, a little later - in Japan. This is not only an attribute of small huts of the poor, they were also happy to be installed in wealthy houses. Screens came to Europe in the 17th century and served only as decorations for rich interiors, and only in the last century they began to be used for. A screen partition for a room is a great way, in addition, it gives a certain touch of the past to the interior. And the most important advantage is that it is easy to make it yourself and decorate in accordance with the overall design.

An important feature of the design is its mobility, if necessary, it is possible to fence off a section of the room in a matter of seconds, while the holistic perception of the interior will not be violated. It does not take up much space; in a short time, a small area is filled with a feeling of solitude and intimacy. The sectional version is perfect for small spaces. If necessary, it quickly unfolds, separating from the total area. The next morning it can be folded and removed, the partition does not take up much space.

The model is selected for any, with its help you can visually change the space. For example, if you decorate it with mirrored canvases and install it near the window, natural lighting will fill the room with volume when reflected, while creating a feeling of lightness and airiness. Partition screens are often used for dividing the space into several enclosed areas. In such models, a standard mount is used. A decorative screen does not require special financial costs, while the result of its installation will be quite impressive.

The main advantages of using a partition screen for zoning a room

In addition to functionality, the partition screen will find its place in both one- and multi-room apartments, and in. There are several main positive aspects of using the structure in space:

  • the possibility of quick zoning;
  • allocation of a place for changing clothes, for example,;
  • decorative function - the screen can be an interesting accent in the room. Designs with hand-painted, artsy will be a real decoration of the interior;
  • practicality - it does not take up much space when folded;
  • light and airy model visually lightens the space even in a small room.

Types of models of partition screens for zoning rooms

There are quite a few designs of partitions. They can only be used as without carrying any practical load. As an option - a folding model with functional shelves inside, which acts not only as a zoning of space, you can store small utensils or household items on them. Consider the main types of partitions.

Folding screens

They are also called folding, they usually have 3 wings, which are interconnected in. The width of each element is about 50 cm, the height is not more than 180 cm. The partition is mobile, when folded it does not take up much space, so it is perfect for a small apartment. Folding models are most often wooden, plastic, glass structures are less common.

Single screen room screen

The screen dividers do not fold like the previous ones. They are made of canvas, glass or plastic on a frame. Screens are light, compact, mobile, they can be easily moved to any place. Additional stability is provided by legs or a special base, often equipped with wheels.

The size of the structure is small, it will not work to fully zone the space with the help of a screen screen. Its main purpose is to hide a certain area from prying eyes. Such partitions are often used not only in residential premises, they can be found in medical centers or public buildings.

Flexible screens

Flexible partitions stylishly fit into the interior, they can be made in different configurations. Most often they are made in white, due to this, the models look light and elegant. For the frame, thin tubes, slats or plates are used, with the help of which the partition can even have a wavy shape. A flexible model, if necessary, is twisted into a tube and put away in the pantry.

Screen panels

In such designs, textiles are attached to the frame, similarly. A variety of materials allows you to fit screen panels into any interior design. Their only drawback is that the panels can not be fixed on every ceiling surface. For example, it will not allow you to install a partition-panel, you will have to think of another solution for zoning the room in this case.

Original screens

You can decorate the interior with a magnificent design product made of artistic forging or designs with stained-glass windows in the form of a mosaic, it will give the room individuality and originality. In the room, with the help of sliding decorative partitions for space zoning, you can equip a comfortable corner, for example, for receiving guests or fence off in a studio apartment.

Options for using partition screens in rooms for various purposes

Not only a designer product can diversify a space, bring a fresh solution to it. It is possible for quite moderate means to buy a design suitable for the interior. Screens are used for various purposes, not only for successful zoning, with their help they quickly close a small mess from prying eyes, they also protect from sunlight, playing the role.

Bathroom screens

In the bathroom, a decorative screen is used instead of a curtain; it can also be used to fence off a doorway. If the design is equipped with shelves, bath and cosmetic items are placed on them. Adding hooks to the partition will allow you to hang home clothes on it.

In the bathroom, a frame partition will fit well, consisting of several sections, depending on the area of \u200b\u200bvisited. You can install frameless on the side, the thickness of the glass is at least 8 mm. If necessary, a partition is selected, which is fixed to the wall with hinges, thanks to which they turn 180 °. As an option - the installation of one sash motionless on the edge of the bath, and the second can be movable around its axis.

Bedroom screen

Partition screens in the bedroom often serve to zone the dressing area. If you decorate it with mirrored canvases, it will visually expand the space. A low design can be installed on, it completely replaces the curtain and protects from direct sunlight.

Designs made in oriental style are suitable for the bedroom. It can be a tree decorated with hand-made inlay or carving, or a frame model covered with silk. Such a partition is able to balance the massiveness of large furniture and become a real highlight of the interior.

Screen in the children's room

The universal design in the children's room can perform several functions:

  • divide the room, separating the place to relax from the play or work area;
  • a place for additional storage of toys, drawings, needlework, cosmetic accessories;
  • for puppet shows.

Another important nuance that you should pay attention to when choosing a screen for a nursery is the ability to quickly remove textiles to wash or clean as they get dirty. It is very convenient when the fabric is fixed on the frame with ties.

A photo Description of works

We make cuts in the slats under the lamellas with a special tool or with a hammer and chisel.

The grooves for the connection must be filled with special wood glue.

Lamellas should be inserted into the grooves filled with glue. Upon contact with the adhesive composition, they swell, a fairly strong connection is obtained.

All blanks are assembled into a single design.

The blanks are compressed and fixed with a special clamping device. They must be left until the glue dries completely.

All three sections are made in the same way.

Tinted the partition in the desired color.

Next, proceed to decorating glass. To do this, a soap solution is first applied to the surface, then the film is laid out.

The surface should be carefully smoothed to remove all liquid bubbles using a ruler with movements from the middle to the edges of the structure.

The pseudo stained glass window is inserted into the frame structure and fixed with pre-painted glazing beads. Similarly, stained-glass windows are performed for all sections.

Install the hinges with a screwdriver and self-tapping screws.

The finished screen-partition will become a real decoration of the interior.
