How long does a shutdown usually last?

The lack of hot water causes a lot of inconvenience to modern people, so for many people the question of the duration of a water outage is very relevant. Usually hot water is turned off for a period of 10 days. If hot water supply has not been restored within 2 weeks, you have the right to demand a revision of utility bills.

Often the water is turned off for just a few days. Refers to new areas where new pipes and other equipment used to provide hot water and heat to apartments have been installed. Checking the operability of the networks and their readiness for the heating season in this case takes 3-4 days, although it may vary depending on the characteristics of the system and the area. As the number of new pipes and equipment increases each year, water shutoff times for many areas are reduced. But about 70% of communication networks in the capital remain from Soviet times.

Why is the water turned off?

An annual shutdown of hot water is necessary to check the serviceability of the networks and their readiness for the next season. Hot water supply is stopped for preventive maintenance. They necessarily include high-pressure hydrotesting, which makes it possible to identify weak points in the pipelines. Eliminating faults and weak points reduces the risk of emergency situations during the cold season.

Not only heating networks, but also heat exchangers, pumping and other equipment require regular maintenance. During the period when hot water is turned off, maintenance and various preventive works are carried out, which help prevent many troubles during the heating season.

Already on September 1, some residents of Khabarovsk will be left without hot water - the autumn pressure testing of heating networks begins in the Far Eastern capital. Power engineers will have to test the strength of more than 200 kilometers of heating mains before the heating season.

WHEN AND WHERE WILL THE HOT WATER BE TURNED OFF?

Consumers of the Industrial District and partly of the Central District will be the first to be left without water - within the boundaries of Mukhina Streets (from Postyshev to Slobodskaya), Gamarnika (odd side), Slobodskaya, Pushkin Street (to Karl Marx Street)

The outages will also affect some residents of the Zheleznodorozhny district - the Khabarovsk-2 district, Aerodromnaya, Tselinnaya, Kostromskaya streets, the area of Geodesicheskaya, Promyvochnaya, Shmakovskaya streets, and Dosy.

At this time, two suburban villages in the Khabarovsk region - Ilyinka and Rakitnoye - will also be in the shutdown zone.

From 6 to 12 September Hot water will be turned off in houses in the Podgaev Street area due to the repair of a boiler room in the Volochaevsky town.

From September 18 to 28 - Krasnoflotsky, partially Kirovsky, Central and Zheleznodorozhny district

Following CHPP-1, hydraulic tests will begin at CHPP-3. All residents of the Krasnoflotsky district will remain without water for ten days, as well as some consumers in the Central district of Khabarovsk: within the boundaries of Ussuriysky Boulevard, Leningradskaya, Amursky Boulevard and Sheronova streets. In the Kirovsky district, hot water will disappear on Amursky Boulevard, Dzhambula, Shelesta, Voronezhskaya, Leningradskaya and Mukhina (from Postyshev to Leningradskaya). In the Zheleznodorozhny district, everyone will be left without water except for the residents of Aerodromnaya, Tselinnaya, Geodesicheskaya, Promyvochnaya, Shmakovskaya, Kostromskaya, DOSov and the Khabarovsk-2 district - these consumers will be provided with water by CHPP-1.

The last one on schedule is CHPP-2. During the pipeline testing period, residents of the Kirovsky district within the boundaries of the streets: Amursky Boulevard, Dzhambula, Metallistov, Tikhovenaya, Istomina will remain without hot water.

Also, consumers in the Central District will not have water within the boundaries of the streets: Amursky Boulevard, Sheronova, Lenin - from Blucher Square to the street. Shevchenko.

Strength testing of heating networks is carried out to determine their readiness for the next heating season, explains Director of KhTSK Sergei Nehoroshikh.- The pressure in the pipelines is increased to a level approximately a quarter higher than the standard load. This is necessary in order to promptly identify “weak spots” in heating networks and prevent the formation of defects and failures in heat supply during the upcoming heating season. Therefore, we ask consumers to be understanding of the inconveniences associated with the temporary lack of hot water.

Every summer, Muscovites are faced with one, but very unpleasant situation - turning off the hot water in the house. Despite the fact that in anticipation of this event, a warning about the schedule for turning off hot water in the house is posted on the information board at the entrance, it is impossible to prepare mentally for this. The current year 2017 was no exception. Some have already survived the time of basins and pots, while others are yet to do so. Our new article is dedicated to them and all those who wish to familiarize themselves with the hot water shutdown schedule in Moscow in 2017. We will tell you why it is turned off every year, why there are houses where this does not happen, how and on which official website to look at the schedule for turning off hot water in your home this summer.

When the hot water is turned off in our house, the first thing that comes to mind is why? Who needs this anyway? They are mocking us, we live in the 21st century and are running around the apartment with pots and basins! But let's not forget. According to weather observation statistics since 2006, in Moscow, out of 12 months of the year, the temperature is less than 10 degrees in 7 months.

In this regard, shutting off hot water is required by utility services to check the communications of the house and prepare them for the next heating season. During this period, all elements of the city heat supply are tested, which include thermal stations, central and individual heating points, as well as distribution and main heating networks. Unfortunately, it is impossible to carry out high-quality diagnostics and necessary repairs of all technical units without turning off the hot water in homes.

For how many days is hot water turned off in Moscow?

In 2017, hot water in Moscow was turned off for 10 days. You will be pleasantly surprised that just a few years ago, for example, in 2011, this period was 14 days. Once upon a time, hot water was turned off for 21 days!

It should be noted that in different neighborhoods and even houses the condition of thermal communications is different - less wear and tear and more technically accessible diagnostics. In this case, the time spent on checking all heating lines is lower, which means the 10-day period for turning off hot water will be reduced.

I know peoplewhose hot water is not turned off in the summer?

We all know the lucky ones whose hot water is not turned off in the summer, and in this difficult time we envy them. The question of why hot water is turned off in some houses and not in others also worries many Muscovites. The answer is simple. It is extremely rare that water is turned off in houses with an alternative pipeline or with new generation heating networks.

If the house has an alternative pipeline, then it is used to supply hot water to the apartments while checking the main one. As for modern heating networks, their diagnostics are generally possible remotely via a computer. As a rule, an alternative pipeline and, especially, a new generation of heating networks are installed in new houses, and not for which, including for this reason, they were launched in 2017.

Why is the hot water turned off?

Water shutdowns in summer are a common occurrence. This is due to the need to carry out preventive work in preparation for the heating season.

Hydraulic tests are carried out in boiler houses and heating networks. They are aimed at:

  • assessment of the quality of repair of heating networks;
  • identifying defects and eliminating the causes of heat loss.

Turning off the water is a necessary measure. Without it, utilities will not be able to carry out the necessary work and tests. Therefore, without stopping the hot water supply, it is impossible to adequately prepare for the winter period.

- When will the hot water be turned off?

Advantages: repair of communications

Disadvantages: lack of hot water

Despite the fact that this is the age of discoveries and modern technologies, hot water shutdowns could not be avoided: every year in all Russian cities there is a shutdown of hot water supply, which, of course, brings certain inconvenience to people.

Hot water shutdown schedule 2017

Moscow city

You can find out about the shutdown of hot water in advance - many sites offer a form to fill out, in which you must indicate the address and house number. By filling out this simple form, you can get a specific answer to the question about the date the hot water supply will be turned off.

Why do water shutoffs happen every year?

This question interests many residents of both the capital and other cities.

Utility services respond that the annual shutdown of hot water is explained by a technical need for the process of preparing communications for the coming winter season.

Hot water is turned off at the beginning of autumn - when it is not yet cold outside, so as not to disturb residents too much. During this time, all district heating systems are checked.

Hot water shutdown times

Typically, hot water supply shutdown periods are short - about 10 days. If no breakdowns are detected, the central water supply system is in perfect order and can function reliably, then the hot water supply is resumed.

Just 7 years ago, hot water was turned off for 21 days. Currently, the highway inspection process has been reduced to 10 days, and this time is justified.

If problems are found during the inspection process, the hot water may be delayed. In this case, residents are informed that hot water supply will be several days later.

In some neighborhoods that were recently built, the hot water shutdown may take 1-2 days, since the pipes are in good condition and nothing needs to be repaired.

No, the cold water is not turned off completely, as it is necessary for the use of the sewer system.

The cold water supply is designed in such a way that it has a reserve, which means that residents should always have access to cold water.

Usually, when hot water is turned off, the mechanics of management companies turn off the house meters themselves. But this doesn’t always happen - they may not do it for any reason: they don’t get around to it or simply forget. Therefore, just in case, it doesn’t hurt to turn off the water so that the meter cannot add extra cubic meters.

The fact is that people continue to use the water that flows from the hot tap. The water flows cold, but the payment may well show the amount as if the person used hot water (since a hot tap was used). And hot water costs more than cold water.

What should you do if it suddenly happened that you should have already turned on the hot water, the long-awaited date has arrived, but there is still no hot water?

You can write an email to the Moscow Housing Inspectorate or contact your management company (in person or by phone). It often happens that plumbers forget to turn on hot water in a particular house, and until residents start calling, they won’t see hot water.

Since hot water is turned off every year, and the time to turn it on is often delayed, many people have bought and installed water heaters, which make life much easier.

There are different models - from small volume to impressive, it is quite possible to find a suitable option. In terms of price, they are not very expensive, even if you buy them with installation. They use a lot of electricity, but the comfort is worth it.
